\nAbout the Role: \n\nPlanet is looking for a strategic product marketer to help grow the market for Planetโs Earth observation platform and data layers, enabling business expansion by operationalizing go-to-market strategies across industries and countries. You will be part of the Marketing team, sitting within the dynamic Product & Industry Marketing group.\n\nYou will be embedded in broad cross-functional and go-to-market initiatives that ultimately drive revenue for Planet. Responsibilities include engaging with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders, leading product launch activities, building messaging and positioning, and synthesizing market trends and new use cases that Planet products can address.\n\nYou will work closely with the Product teams in defining customer & partner challenges and providing input to the roadmap for new features that address critical unmet needs. You will work closely with the Commercial organization to ensure โfield readiness,โ determine effective engagement strategies, and equip them with the right messaging, content, and competitive insights. \n\nTo be successful in this role, you will bring a clear perspective on how to bring new geospatial data-as-a-service (DaaS) and enterprise software products to an evolving market. You have a detailed understanding of how to develop buyer and user personas and the stages of their buying journey. Attention to detail, high quality communication, and the ability to articulate differentiated value to different audiences and across a range of industries are critical to the role. This role is expected to routinely present to internal teams, as well as at external conferences, events, and webinars; you should be adept at public speaking and evangelizing Planetโs mission and products.\n\nImpact Youโll Own:\n\n\nDeeply understand the geospatial data and analytics market and where Planet fits. Identify opportunities for market expansion and assess gaps.\n\nSupport Planetโs go-to-market initiatives (product launches, solution development, partnerships) and drive execution of deliverables across sales, product, marketing, commercial, enablement, legal, and operations teams.\n\nLead customer betas and feedback workshops to gather market insights.\n\nBuild out and maintain buyer and user personas and develop product value propositions that differentiate Planet offerings in the market.\n\nWork with Industry Marketing to identify and assess which partners can complement existing offerings and develop joint marketing plans.\n\nCollaborate with the Product team to produce and update a portfolio of marketing and sales enablement content (e.g., presentations, data sheets, use cases, and battlecards).\n\nCollaborate with technical teams to create interactive demos and narratives that showcase product value to be used for trade shows, industry events, and sales outreach.\n\nSupport marketing campaigns with messaging and content that drive sales pipeline.\n\nPartner closely with other parts of the marketing organization on global and regional programs, including demand generation, digital marketing, field marketing, creative, and communications.\n\n\n\n\nWhat You Bring:\n\n\nBachelor of Arts or Science degree\n\n3+ years of product marketing experience\n\nProven track record positioning products and marketing B2B/enterprise products\n\nExcellent written communication and presentation skills for internal and external audiences\n\nCreative and analytical thinking skills\n\nExperience partnering with product, commercial, and executive stakeholders. \n\nExcellent communication skills and enthusiasm for collaboration across teams\n\n\n\n\nBenefits While Working at Planet:\n\n\nComprehensive Health Plan\n\nWellness program and onsite massages in specific offices\n\nFlexible Time Off\n\nRecognition Programs\n\nCommuter Benefits\n\nTuition Reimbursement and access to LinkedIn Learning\n\nParental Leave\n\nOffsites and Happy Hours\n\nVolunteering Benefits\n\n\n\n\nCompensation:\n\nThe US base salary range for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is $127,000.00 - $180,600. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives (commission, bonus and equity). The final salary range is determined by job related experience, skills and location. The range displays our typical hiring range for new hire salaries in US locations only.
