At Specto we're building the next-generation platform for ***application performance monitoring*** and analysis in the age of mobile.\n\nMore and more users access essential services (banking, transportation, healthcare) through mobile devices. With the increased competition in the space it became apparent that just having a working app is not enough. The app has to offer a fast and smooth user experience, otherwise companies are losing users and consequently, it affects their revenue. Existing performance management tools were built with a focus on server performance and as such lack the functionality needed to efficiently monitor, analyze and debug modern mobile apps. We're addressing that by building a mobile-first application performance monitoring service which will help power the next generation of smooth mobile experiences.\n\nWe are a remote team (and always have been) distributed across North America and Europe. ***We will remain fully remote in the post-covid era.***\n\n### Responsibilities\n\n- Develop world-class mobile performance telemetry infrastructure\n- Own Android performance metrics end-to-end\n- Work on automating the collection and analysis of performance data\n- Analyze and optimize mobile infrastructure code\n- Work with our most important customers to help them get the most out of Specto\n\n### Minimum qualifications\n\n- Experience with Java and/or Kotlin\n- Familiarity with debugging and profiling Android apps\n\n### Preferred qualifications\n\n- Familiarity with the Android/Linux kernel\n- Experience with the ART and Dalvik runtimes\n- Experience with performance profiling of large-scale apps\n- Experience with modern C++\n- Experience building SDKs for constrained environments \n\n#Salary and compensation\n$160,000 — $180,000/year\n\n\n#Location\n Worldwide

**Radical candor? More like radical gander, right?**\nOk, enough goose puns for the moment, but now that weve got your attention, allow us to tell you more about this company called GooseChase and why might you want to join us!\nYou love an app that makes you smile, right? Well our product is a lot of fun. And even though our origins are that of a humble scavenger hunt app, weve now evolved (hatched?) into a super-flexible platform used by millions to create all sorts of experiences! Its all the best parts of a scavenger hunt, with a delightful twist to keep you coming back for more.\nWith all that fun and flexibility, weve been growing like crazy. For teachers in the classroom, were the new TV cart, aka the learning tool that students legitimately look forward to. For todays workplaces, virtual or otherwise, we help the team connect with each other to the point where they want to come into (or logon) to work. And for local cities and towns, we bring families together in a way that truly builds a sense of community.\nBut were also unique in that we dont have any investors and, as a result, are able to put our people before profit. Seriously. We have a profit sharing program specifically for this reason! It also means we grow at the pace we want to and put the time into making this the best possible place to work. When we do something, its because its the best thing for our team and our customers, no matter what. Weve actually been fully remote from the very beginning, because we wanted our people to have the flexibility to live wherever and however they wanted!\n**So what exactly is this job?**\nIf youre looking for impact & ownership, this is about as good as it gets. Youll have the opportunity to take the lead on our Android platform going forward, charting our technical path, contributing to our product direction and helping shape the team as we grow!\nFrom a day to day perspective, youll be a core member of our cross-functional product development team primarily focused on the participant experience. Within our product team, there are no silos or artificial barriers, meaning youll be working closely with other engineers and designers! Whatever will help give our customers the best experience possible!\nWe recognize building the best products requires using the best tools, so we empower our engineers through access to the best tools and hardware available to remove barriers and enable fast iterating, robust code deployments.\nIn terms of technologies, youll be working on our native Android application, which:\n* Is a blend of Java and Kotlin, with new code being written exclusively in Kotlin.\n* Currently has an MVC architecture, with migration plans to MVVM in the near future.\n* Stores data in Realm, with images & videos in S3.\n* Interacts with our Django back-end via a REST api.\nLooking at how we work, our methodologies are:\n* Continuous integration using CircleCI to empower developer autonomy and shorten development cycles.\n* Agile, with two week sprint cycles.\n* Daily async check-ins - stay connected to the team, but without zombie standups.\n* Project management in Asana, with our office taking place on Slack & Zoom - we have a very strong gif game.\n**How do you know if this might be for you?**\nAt GooseChase youll be working alongside a team of highly motivated, world-class engineers with tons of opportunities for learning, growth, and mentorship. Our product team works closely together, so we are extremely selective about who we hire to ensure the calibre of our engineering talent remains high. Be prepared to bring your A game!\nWe understand that relevant experience comes in all shapes and sizes and the ability to do the job is all that matters. With that in mind, we arent going to put together a generic list of all the requirements that were looking for with this job, however, there are certain things we are looking for - specifically:\n* Have you succeeded at owning the development and making architectural decisions for at least one Android app used by lots of people? Put another way, are you an Android expert that is excited by the opportunity to own our codebase going forward?\n* Have you been able to collaborate & communicate successfully with others in a cross-functional team?\n* Do you have very high standards for your work and desire to work with other talented people?\n* Do you really care about the Android ecosystem and want to make the apps built for it the best they can possibly be?\n* Do you know enough about iOS to collaborate with Attila, our dedicated iOS engineer?\n* Are you based in the GMT to GMT+2 time zones, so you can work closely with our distributed product team?\n* Can you get down with an uncomfortable amount of goose puns?\nOk the last one isnt super work related, but we honestly do have a lot of goose puns. Its one of our favourite parts of our culture!\nWe do things differently here. Were all about fun, but also making an impact. We care deeply about working with amazing people, and have set up our company culture specifically for that - our compensation is competitive, our work environment is autonomous and collaborative, and our emphasis is on learning and growth. Put simply, its the type of company we actually want to work at ourselves!\nSo, this is us, standing in front of you, asking you to join us. \n\n#Location\n返 EU-only

Shopify is now permanently remote and working towards a future that is digital by default. Learn more about what this can mean for you.\n\nShopify is the leading cloud-based, multi-channel commerce platform. Merchants can use the software to design, set up, and manage their stores across multiple sales channels, including web, mobile, social media, marketplaces, and brick-and-mortar locations. The platform also provides merchants with a powerful back-office and a single view of their business. Shopify was engineered for reliability and scale, making enterprise-level technology available to businesses of all sizes. Shopify powers over 1,000,000 businesses in over 175 countries and heres how weve been helping more merchants survive, thrive, and navigate the impacts of COVID-19.\n \nShopify is on a fast-moving mission to make the best products for merchants, buyers, and partners around the globe and engineers play a vital role in building that future. Here are just some of the stories from the engineering teams who build and scale Shopify.\n \n*Intrigued? Thats great! Were looking for Senior Software Developers to join our team, and maybe youre the person were looking for!*\n\n**What types of Senior Software Developers might be interested in joining?**\n \n**Backend Development**\n\nAt Shopify, Backend Developers with a passion for solving tough problems with performant code work on teams that ship on quality instead of on time. Our teams deploy new code many times a day, and our production scale is massive. Were talking over 1 million online stores, and hundreds of millions of requests a day. Thousands of entrepreneurs will see your work within seconds a difficult but incredibly rewarding responsibility. Shopify is the largest Ruby on Rails application in the world and we're a big part of the Rails community. Were constantly improving our codebase to make it even better.\n \n**Mobile Development (React Native, Android & iOS)**\n\nOur Mobile Developers work along with designers and product managers to build and launch new features for our apps. Youll work on large-scale apps that are ever-changing, enabling entrepreneurship for hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs. Our Android developers use Kotlin and our iOS developers use Swift. Our teams are increasingly working with React Native so openness to cross-platform mobile development is a plus!\n \n**UX Development **\n\nAt Shopify, UX Developers work on building experiences inclusive of everyone regardless of location, language, device, assistive technology, or network speed. Youll work across disciplines and are excited about building human-centered experiences. Youll work closely with the teams that create compelling content, build awareness of Shopify, and communicate stories about Shopify's role in commerce to a global audience. Or, you might focus on creating thoughtful product interfaces for our users, shape our design language, and contribute to our shared component libraries in a maintainable and scalable way. Our teams primarily work with the latest web standards in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Ruby on Rails.\n \n**Web Development**\n\nOur Web Developers work closely with software engineering teams, designers and product managers to not only build incredible merchant-facing products, but also developer-facing tools. Youll use modern technologies and frameworks like Typescript, React, GraphQL and Apollo to develop large front-end web applications that scale and perform well on all devices. Ruby on Rails is used to add and modify controllers, models, views, and integrating front-end code into a Rails application.\n\n**Youll be working on things like:**\n\n* Collaborating with other designers and developers\n* Creating beautiful and fast code that improves our code base in meaningful ways\n* Using test-driven development to write well-tested code\n* Fixing bugs fast and taking your time to solve hard problems well\n* Contributing back to the open source community\n\n**Qualities you likely have to be well suited to this role:**\n\n* Experience using technologies and frameworks like (but not limited to) some of our most-used languages Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, Java/JEE, Node.js, PHP, Python, React or React Native is an asset, but not required. Dont have experience with many of them? No problem deep experience with any object-oriented language and willingness to learn our tech stack goes a long way. (Also: Check out our StackShare here.)\n* Curiosity and passion to constantly learn new things; Shopify changes fast, and we need the people who work here to be able to change and learn fast too\n* Experience with relational databases and SQL \n\n**Bonus Points**\n\nYouve mentored teammates on new ways to deepen their technical craft\n\n#Location\n Worldwide

Hi, Im Dani, an entrepreneur, and a tech author & speaker.\n\nAlong with my business partner James, weve been on a mission to change the way people buy and sell online for over 8 years. We started Saily, the first app to buy & sell used stuff in 2012. We grew it to 500,000+ users before joining Mercari, the giant mobile marketplace. There we led Product & Growth and IPOed in 2018. Six months ago, we built Flyp, an app that connects small businesses to professional sellers who sell their clothing inventory for them. Pros handle pricing, listing, negotiating with buyers, packing and shipping each item, then splitting profits.\n\nWe closed our investment round, and are growing our team. Were looking to hire our first full-time Android engineer to build our Android (Kotlin) app. We value attitude over skills. Were looking for someone to treat this startup as their own, have opinions, be involved in decision making, have a hacker mindset, and be result-driven. Although were a remote-first startup, we make sure to have overlapping hours across the team to boost productivity.\n\nWe have a dedicated iOS & API engineers, and our iOS app has been on the App Store for over 9 months now, with a long roadmap ready for execution.\nThe engineer will be solely responsible for building and maintain our app (with the same features as our iOS app, and using native Android design). \n\n\nPlease reach out directly to me at [email protected] \n\n#Salary and compensation\n$40,000 — $50,000/year\n\n\n#Location\nEurope & Middle East

The sensor processes thousands of events per second to provide deep visibility into operations on the endpoint, and performs rich correlation and computation to identify malicious events and blocks malicious activity.\n\n\nThe cloud component aggregates sensor telemetry for each customer’s network, correlates malicious behavior across multiple machines, and presents our customers’ operations teams with a prioritized summary of the threats detected in their environments.\n\n\nJoin CrowdStrike and become a key leader building the most innovative endpoint security solution in the world. Our sensor development team is responsible for building the endpoint mobile sensor, deployed on multiple platforms including Android, and iOS. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be expected to make significant contributions to the design and implementation of major development projects.  You will be required to identify solutions and collaborate with others to implement our features. You will work on stimulating problems borne out of the scale of our deployment and the stringent performance and security requirements of our sensors. \n\n\nThis position is open to candidates in Bucharest (Office and Remote), Brasov, Cluj and Isai (Remote).\n\n\nResponsibilities\n\n\n* Provide key contribution on the sensor development team involved in architecture, in implementation, and improvements to next generation Anti-Virus and Enhanced Detection and Response Security Software.\n\n* Develop features from design to delivery including participation in product demo at the end of the sprint.\n\n* Collaborate with multi-functional teams in various locations.\n\n* Devise innovative solutions to hard performance or scale problems.\n\n* Maintain the sensor up-to-date with the latest OS developments and patches.\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat You’ll Need \n\n\n* Experience designing and producing high quality software\n\n* Able to lead, mentor, communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a distributed team.\n\n* Low-level OS knowledge in either Linux or Android or iOS\n\n* Extensive experience with C++, Java and System Development\n\n\n\n\n\nBonus Points \n\n\n* Strong background in scalable systems\n\n* Familiarity and experience with Agile process\n\n* OS system expertise for core concepts and subsystems\n\n* Familiarity with DevOps practices and technologies\n\n* Familiarity with Python and Bash\n\n\n

\nWho are we searching for?\n\nWe search for an Android developer who shares our passion for clean, testable code and intuitive user interfaces. We want somebody who can proactively push projects and teams forward. In teams of 2-5 developers, you'd develop Android apps that keep working even under the extreme circumstances in clinics.\n\nYou will not only learn to write scalable code but also how to lead teams and get the most out of young developers. This blog article of ours describes pretty well what we consider to be the fundamental attitudes of a great developer. \n\nYou can pick if you want to specialize in the Healthcare/Medicine area (quickbirdmedical.com), work on projects for big clients like Lufthansa or Caterpillar, or build apps for fast-growing, transformative startups.\n\nAlso, you can either work with our team inside the headquarters in Munich, or work remotely from somewhere else.  \n\nTechnical Infos\n\nDevelopers at QuickBird Studios burn with their technical passion, to improve what's out there, to fight in the battle of technical innovations.\n\nBased on the use case, our apps either follow an MVVM or MVI architecture (implemented using RxJava, RxKotlin or Kotlin-Coroutines). We use Kotlin as a programming language in all of our apps. You can find more infos about our concepts on our GitHub-Page or our Blog.\n\nAs a young agency, we continuously work on new, exciting projects. You will usually work on completely new apps without fighting 10-year old code-bases. We never had a developer we could not push to his technical limits.\n\nWith every new team member, this unit test must still pass: https://gist.github.com/maltebucksch/d43ffc0af1170ef230b94c0bf0fe5630#file-developerteamtest-kt\n\nRequirements\n\n\n* At least 2 years of experience with native Android development (Java or Kotlin)\n\n* Experience with Kotlin, RxJava and/or Android Databinding is a plus\n\n* Up-to-date with current Android development trends\n\n* Developed at least one Android app from scratch\n\n* Willing to help teammates and to learn from them\n\n* Openness for new concepts and critics\n\n\n\n\nWhat we offer\n\n\n* A very ambitious talented team of 18 developers and designers\n\n* Position with high responsibility\n\n* Possible to work remotely\n\n* Regular team events (tabletop soccer/beer/coding evenings/game nights etc. - remote friendly)\n\n* Ability to implement own ideas (e.g. as open-source projects)\n\n* Office in the heart of Munich near central station\n\n* Flexible working times\n\n\n\n\nYour application\n\nTell us what drives you, which topics you're excited about and what you worked on before. Put your standard application letter aside. Instead, let us know what makes you jump out of bed in the morning. \n\nWe want to get to know you as a person. You want to work with people you like, that push you forward and inspire you. Same for us.

\nWe are looking for an Android Developer who possesses a passion for pushing mobile technologies to the limits. We value people who are not afraid to dig into other people’s code, who think that code is the best documentation, and who like to experiment with new technologies but understand the risk of pushing them to production. We like to work with engineers who believe that learning a concept is more important than learning a framework, and who pick technologies outside of their comfort zone when they believe that they’re the best tool for solving a particular problem.\n\nAs a senior member of our Android team you will help us develop new features that take advantage of the latest trends in the Android ecosystem, as well as improve our existing systems. As we think of ourselves as Mobile developers, you’ll also help reviewing and improving our iOS code base.\n\nWhat You’ll Be Doing:\n\n\n* Working on problems that affect the lives of real people. Our users depend on us to make positive changes to their health and their lives.\n\n* Basing your work on scientifically-proven, peer-reviewed methodologies that are designed by medical professionals\n\n* Collaborating with a team both onsite and offsite -- about 50% of our engineering team is fully remote; we worry about results, not time spent in seats.\n\n\n\n\nWhat We’re Looking For:\n\n\n* 4+ years of large-scale Android experience in a team environment\n\n* Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience\n\n* Experience with being in a senior position on a similarly-sized team\n\n* The ability and enthusiasm to mentor less-senior engineers\n\n* A proven track record of building complex technology and guiding less senior members of the team to create code that is well-organized, easy to read and maintain, and optimized for its intended purpose\n\n* The ability to take long-term responsibility for the development of a project, and work alongside the Product team to guide its technical evolution\n\n* Familiarity with Kotlin either in side projects or in full production code is required.\n\n\n\n\nWhat Makes This Job Amazing:\n\n\n* You’ll be helping millions of people lead healthier lives every day\n\n* You’ll be a part of Noom's rocketship-- revenue has grown 20x in the last 2 years and our team is growing fast.\n\n* You’ll have wonderful benefits including healthcare/dental, wellness budget, daily gourmet meals prepared by our onsite chefs, and onsite yoga\n\n* You’ll experience huge learning & professional growth opportunities. Noom believes in supporting your professional and personal growth: we’ll cover the cost of books, courses, conferences… you name it!\n\n* You’ll add to our transparent, high-performing, and close-knit culture\n\n\n\n\nNoom Inc. is a leader in mobile health coaching. We combine the power of technology with the empathy of real human coaches to deliver successful behavior change. Our direct-to-consumer mobile applications have reached more than 45 million users worldwide-- and counting. We’ve leveraged our behavior change platform to incorporate the CDC’s Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), and have expanded to programs for diabetes management, pre-hypertension, and hypertension. Our Engineering team is at the forefront of this challenge, solving complex technical problems that center around habits, behavior, and lifestyle.\n\nThis position is either remote or at our New York City headquarters.

We add features and functionality based on partner feedback and new trends in the markets around us.\n\nNot sure if this is for you? Consider contributing first. \n\nWhen applying, please include a code sample or, preferably, references to open source projects you’ve worked on.\n\nAbout eyeo GmbH\n\nAt eyeo we create software that puts users in control of their online browsing experience.
