We are Storetasker, a marketplace that connects Shopify business owners with our network of experienced freelance developers, designers, and marketers. More than 30,000 Shopify merchants, including some of the fastest-growing brands in the world, have used Storetasker to hire reliable experts to improve their business. Right now, our customers have more demand for reliable, fast, and efficient Shopify help than ever before, and we can't wait to introduce you. \n\nIf you have used other freelance marketplaces, you’re familiar with all the issues that come with being a freelancer on these platforms: \n\n* Lots of bidding and not a lot of work,\n* A race to the bottom for the lowest prices,\n* Competing against low hourly wages around the world.\n\nWe're a company built by developers and freelancers who know the pain of running a successful freelance business first hand. So, here's our pitch: \n\nNo bidding. We match you with clients who are right for you, so you don’t compete for work. If you accept a job, it's yours. We connect you with the client directly so you can deliver a fair price and project expectations that work for both parties. If you don’t accept a job, no harm, no foul, the client will get matched with someone else.\nSet your own rate. Storetasker Experts scope out costs on a per-project basis, reporting an average of $75 per hour completing projects on our platform. While our Experts vary from full-time Storetaskers to occasional freelancers, the average Expert makes $1,250 a month, with some making over $5k a month.\nLearn new skills and get support from a community of certified experts. \n\nWe interview and personally vet every applicant (that means you!) and hold our Experts to proven standards to help them maximize their earnings. By eliminating competition, we've created a helpful-first community of knowledgable Experts who keep each other on the cutting edge of Shopify development and successful freelance strategies.\n\nGet paid as soon as the project is done. We've built a number of tools to automate and smooth out the payment processing, invoicing, and billing hurdles freelancers often face. We take payment for all projects upfront and hold it in escrow until it’s completed. No more hounding clients for accounts receivable.\n\nIf you: \n* Enjoy solving problems and helping people,\n* Have multiple years of experience helping with website updates and bug fixes in Shopify,\n* Want to put that experience to good use and make between $50 and $100 an hour doing so,\n* Want to work when you want to, from where you want to. No minimum hours and no quotas. Just make the customer happy, then...\n\nWe want to hear from you! \n\nNeed some proof? Here’s what a few of our freelancers have to say about us: \n\n"Working with Storetasker allowed me to continuously improve my skill set and build up my portfolio." – Satish Voddi, Storetasker Expert\n\n"I have clients I have been working with on Storetasker for years and wouldn't change a thing. From qualified leads in my lap to automated billing, it truly is a freelancer's business in a box" – Nick Simpson, Storetasker Expert \n\nQuestions? We’re Dashwork Studio, a small remote team of 4, spread across India, Greece, and Portugal. We make great stuff with WordPress.\n\n[Codestag](https://codestag.com/) — A premium WordPress theme shop where we create handy, user-friendly and modern WordPress themes. We sell themes across our own website, ThemeForest (Envato), and WordPress.com\n\n[AnalogWP](https://analogwp.com/) – At AnalogWP, we offer a free/premium plugin called “Style Kits” for Elementor page builder. Style Kits offers additional global controls over Elementor along with a set of templates, blocks, and theme style kits.\n\nWe’re currently looking for someone to extend features for Analog and maintain Codestag, and build fast, secure, and maintainable code in PHP.\n\nYou’re a passionate developer who respects old code no matter how ugly it looks. You enjoy figuring out how an old code base works, refactoring it and taking on the challenges that come with it. You’ll have the opportunity to share your ideas openly and learn from others.\n\nYou own your successes and failures. When a project you’re leading turns into a disaster, you own it and you learn from it. You never point the finger at others.\n\nYou’re able to work with little to no supervision and not afraid to ask for help when needed. You can do your best work in isolation without interruption and can formulate a plan of action.\n\nOur plugins are built on top of WordPress. We follow a superset of the WordPress coding standards and actively invest in tooling & testing to improve both the quality of our products and the happiness of our team building them.\n\n# Responsibilities\n Your primary role would be to extend and maintain features at our [Style Kits](https://wordpress.org/plugins/analogwp-templates/) plugin, but not limited to that. You’ll also be maintaining the backend for Style Kits template publishing, maintaining themes at [Codestag](https://codestag.com/) and product support for Style Kits (all of us do it, as it helps understand the product better and gives a chance to know the end-users).\n\nI need a talented developer to take over the development of Style Kits plugin. I will be reviewing your pull requests myself. Style Kits makes heavy use of both PHP and React, so you must be experienced with that.\n\nWe're also planning on creating some WooCommerce extensions in near future. So experience in that area will be preferred. \n\n# Requirements\n\n\n* Excited to work in a team-oriented environment with an emphasis on growing and helping one another\n\n* Able to translate technical descriptions into detailed engineering implementation tasks\n\n* Detail-oriented & curious, with a drive to understand and solve technical challenges\n\n* A self-starter, able to work in a remote environment without constant supervision\n\n* Committed to constant improvement, learning, sharing your knowledge, and building meaningful relationships as a member of a highly efficient, fast-paced team\n\n\n\n\nBonus points if you also have…\n\n\n\n* Experience working with Elementor\n\n* Experience with Automated Testing (PHPUnit/CodeCeption)\n\n* Experience working with WooCommerce\n\n* Experience working with React.js + REST API\n\n* Experience with Gutenberg\n\n\n\n\n#Location\nIndia

You'll be working with our customer support software and content management system, so it's good if you're a quick learner and not fazed by learning new tools.\n* A background in selling online, Shopify or experience in the wholesale industry is highly desirable.\n\n#Location\nUnited States, Canada, Central or South America

## Your Day-to-day\n\nThis is a hands-on, fully-remote programming position. You'll be working on eCommerce platforms and CMSes like Magento, Shopify and WordPress. The core technologies you'll be working with are PHP, HTML, CSS, and JS.\n\nOur projects are generally focused around making large, material changes to our clients' sites or designing and developing new sites from the ground up. You work closely with client stakeholders, our project managers, and other developers to design, develop and deploy features and updates that *best serve our clients and their customers*.\n\nWe have quite a bit of work booked for the next few months, so an ideal applicant will be ready to hit the ground running. Despite the amount of work we have, I strive to minimize context switching—if you're on a project, you shouldn't expect to be bombarded with unrelated tweaks on other projects here and there.\n\nWe're a small but quickly growing agency. As one of the early hires, there is opportunity for this to be a high impact position. An appropriately ambitious individual will have huge opportunity to lay the groundwork of the company's future.\n\n## About BranchLabs\n\nBranchLabs is a small but rapidly growing fully remote eCommerce consultancy. We provide eCommerce strategy, design, and implementation services for our clients. Our clients are generally vertically integrated, branded B2C businesses. We help them sell more online, show their brand in the best light, and optimize their backend eCommerce processes.\n\nOur reputation is built on delivering results. We take pride in the work we produce. The products we deliver are high quality inside and out, and they help our clients capitalize on real opportunities. We work closely with stakeholders on our clients' marketing teams, combining their understanding of their customers with our understanding of all things eCommerce. Together, we craft solutions that work for our clients and their customers.\n\n## Some Notes on Culture\n\nHere are some of our values. They're always being refined based on what works and what doesn't.\n\n* We value clear, concise communication.\n* You can only produce high quality work if you have a clear understanding of the problem.\n* Context—understanding our clients and their customers—empowers individual contributors to find better solutions.\n* Free up time for interesting problems by automating repeatable tasks and learning your tools inside and out.\n* No process for process' sake. No meetings for meetings' sake. But there *is* a place for both.\n* Build or use tools to provide predictability and eliminate boring work.\n* Individual productivity is important to us, and it is hugely dependent on a minimally distracting, supportive environment.\n\n# Responsibilities\n When you start, this is what you can expect to work on.\n\n* Full Magento, Shopify, or WooCommerce site development\n* Design architecture, then implement features for existing eCommerce stores\n* Implement designs in CSS/HTML/JS\n* Configure middleware services like Redis, Memcached, Varnish, Solr, ElasticSearch, etc.\n* Integrate with 3rd party APIs \n\n# Requirements\n## Qualifications\n\nThese are the must haves. Basically: be a web developer!\n\n* 3–5+ years of industry experience\n* Hands-on programming experience with Magento, Shopify or WooCommerce\n* Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JS\n* Git experience\n* Understand the web—REST, HTTP verbs, basic HTTP status codes, etc.\n* Familiarity with the Unix command line\n\n## Ideal Qualifications\n\nIf you fulfill the above *and* have experience with a few of the below, definitely get in touch.\n\n* Hands-on programming experience with all three of the core eCommerce platforms we support\n* Enterprise software development\n* Strong UX/UI chops\n* Deep understanding building complex database queries, particularly MySQL\n* Experience setting up and configuring Apache\n* Opinionated about design—visual and code\n* A portfolio of personal projects (not necessarily code related)\n\n#Location\n🌏 Worldwide

## Your Day-to-day\n\nThis is a contract-to-hire remote project manager position. Individuals only, please :)\n\nFundamentally, your job is to make sure our people are working efficiently on the our clients' biggest opportunities, and that our clients have visibility into what we're working and are bought in to our timing and approach.\n\n## How We View the Role\n\nOne of the most common complaints from clients about other agencies is that they are absolutely terrible at communicating. We're happy to report that we take communication as seriously as the implementation work itself, so the Project Manager role is absolutely critical to our success as a company. Communication is your primary responsibility. As such, much of your work will happen inside our communication tools—Slack, Jira, Zendesk, Email, and Hangouts.\n\nAs the nexus of information in the company you'll ensure information gets to the right people at the right time. There are three distinct roles you'll work closely with: Account Executives, clients, and Individual Contributors.\n\nYou'll collaborate closely with an Account Executive to break down project requirements they've produced for larger client initiatives into actionable tasks.\n\nYou'll work with our clients to document and schedule smaller tasks, keep them up-to-date on larger initiatives, and gather feedback and other project-related information.\n\nFinally, you'll work with individual contributors to make sure they understand the scope of their weekly work and have what they need to do it.\n\n## About BranchLabs\n\nBranchLabs is a small but rapidly growing fully remote eCommerce consultancy. We provide eCommerce strategy and implementation services for our clients. We work closely with stakeholders on our clients’ marketing teams, combining their understanding of their customers with our understanding of all things eCommerce. Together, we craft solutions that work for our clients and their customers.\n\n## Some Notes on Culture\n\nHere are some of our values. They’re always being refined based on what works and what doesn’t.\n\n- We value clear, concise communication.\n- Quality can only be assessed with a clear problem definition.\n- Context—understanding our clients and their customers—empowers individual contributors to find better solutions.\n- Automating repeatable processes frees up time for more interesting problems.\n- No process for process’ sake. No meetings for meetings’ sake. But there’s a place for both.\n- Build or use tools to provide predictability and eliminate boring work.\n- Individual productivity is hugely dependent on a minimally distracting, supportive environment.\n\n# Responsibilities\n ## Accountabilities\n\nAs a manager, you will be measured by the output of your team. Here’s how we do that.\n\n- Projects are consistently completed on time and on budget. When a project is not on track—it happens!—the appropriate stakeholders are informed as soon as possible.\n- Individual contributors are able to make rapid progress on their tasks, as every bit of required information is organized and ready for them to begin work.\n- Priority tasks are being triaged and worked on appropriately, and critical issues are not slipping through the cracks.\n- Clients feel confident they have insight into their projects' progress, and are confident about our approach.\n\n## Responsibilities\n\nThis is what you’ll actually be doing on a day-to-day basis.\n\n- Helping coordinate communication between our internal staff and clients.\n- Capturing requirements as issues in Jira, written with contextual information so they’re actionable for the individual doing the task.\n- Shepherding client requests from initial contact through to actionable format in our issue tracker, Jira.\n- Managing work requests from clients in Zendesk.\n- Gathering and documenting information to unblock individual contributors.\n- Reviewing and approving work before it is presented to clients or deployed.\n- Conducting status calls with clients to keep both our teams pointing the same direction.\n- Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve our process so we can deliver better results more efficiently. \n\n# Requirements\n## Required Qualifications\n\nThese are the must haves.\n\n- Prior experience managing or leading.\n- Able to understand the boundaries of technical systems well enough to have an intuition for what requests might be small/medium/large.\n- A conversational knowledge of the web. Example knowledge might include rough HTML/CSS knowledge, understanding what Javascript is used for, how a server responds to a request for a web page, what a browser cache is, what cookies are used for, etc.\n- As a remote first company, excellent written communication skills are a must.\n- You are punctual and organized.\n\n## Ideal Qualifications\n\nIf you fulfill the above *and* have experience with a few of the below, definitely get in touch.\n\n- Prior experience in an agile environment.\n- Technical enough to be able to help guide clients towards effective solutions in realtime, without developer input at all times.\n- Prior eCommerce admin, design, or development experience—particularly on Magento or Shopify.

SkyVerge is looking for a talented full-stack senior PHP engineer to join our team and help build our portfolio of WordPress plugins for WooCommerce. You'll write code that helps power mission-critical tools for millions of online stores.\n\n**The Role**\n\nYou’ll focus on building new features and maintaining existing code, while also helping with code reviews and customer support. With over 60 different plugins, there’s a wide variety of work. You might spend time on some complicated frontend interactions using JS, then switch focus to working with a tricky external REST API for a while, and later work on adding unit/acceptance tests to our framework code.\n\nYou’ll have the opportunity to really dive into a problem and understand it before crafting a well-engineered, high quality solution. We believe the best work happens when given lots of uninterrupted time to think and code.\n\nOur plugins are built on top of WordPress and designed to work with WooCommerce, so we use PHP 5.3+ (moving soon to PHP 5.6 minimum) and we write all new JS in ES6. We follow a superset of the WordPress coding standards and actively invest in tooling & testing to improve both the quality of our products and the happiness of our team building them. \n\nWe work primarily through GitHub and Slack, so you should be able clearly express your ideas via comments and messages. All new code is tested and peer-reviewed, so you’ll be able to both learn from the rest of the team and share your knowledge.\n\nAs one of our senior engineers, the team will look to you for advice and direction. You’ll help shape our best practices, decide on libraries & tooling, and refactor older or underperforming parts of the codebase. You’ll also be responsible for moving your projects forward, communicating your progress and milestones with others, and clearly documenting your work.\n\n**Process**\n\nAfter an initial screening, you’ll get an email with a few questions to answer. Following that, you’ll have a few 45 minute phone chats with different people on our team to learn more about you and answer any questions you have about the position and company. \n\nThe most qualified candidates will then be invited to complete a short one-day research project. If this goes well, we’ll invite you to the final stage of our evaluation process: the trial project. During this 1-2 week period, you’ll work closely with our team as a paid contractor to develop & ship a small feature. This gives you an opportunity to make sure you enjoy the work and the team, and it gives us an opportunity to evaluate your work. You’re an excellent writer and can communicate effectively whether drafting up a bug report, chatting in Slack, editing a wiki page, or drafting a retrospective. You know that code is about communication and explaining your thought process clearly goes hand-in-hand.\n\nOur team is fully-remote and we communicate primarily through Slack, Clubhouse, Google Docs, Basecamp, and weekly stand-ups via Zoom (a few short meetings) — we believe the best work happens when given lots of uninterrupted time that’s free of distractions.\n\nAs a remote team, we believe that regular meetups are invaluable for getting to know each other better, so you should be available for 1-2 company-paid team trips per year. Curious about what those are like? Check out our recap of our last team retreat ([SkyTrip](http://www.skyverge.com/blog/skytrip-2018-recap/)), which brought the entire team out to Lake Tahoe, California for a week. We know your work will speak for itself with commits, issues closed, and wiki edits.\n

**We Are:**\n\nMageMojo Magento hosting, a group of 35 talented devops guys who all work remotely. We believe passionate, talented people all working together smoothly yields awesome work that lets us build a solid infra and processes to prevent fires instead of spending time always putting out fires. We get along and we constantly improve only because we don't bullsh!t each other or our clients, we don't hide or say what we think others want to hear. We do this with respect and we value truth, transparency and honesty above all else. Of course there are times when we are in headphones-on, hyper-concentration mode. But we also draw a lot of support from each other and try to focus on the "human side" of support. We are curious students of the internet age who are interested in continuing to enhance our own work, sharing what we've learned, and learning from those around us. \n\n**You Are: **\n\nA solid human being with a good sense of humor in search of a job with a crew that is big enough to host important, meaningful sites and small enough to have fun doing it. Attention to detail and a seamless customer experience are important to you. You feel at home in the shell and have some scripting knowledge. You know there's nothing you can't do and no problem you can't solve with the help of the Interwebz, and Google of course. You have strong opinions about the way things should be done but aren't necessarily a zealot for any one process, technology, or denomination. You're inclined to express yourself through animated gifs and obscure movie quotes from the youtubes. You work well at the 11th hour, but even better at the first and second so we can be out at end of shift. You have an ear to the ground for new tech, whether it comes from hacker news or a programming subreddit, and a desire to dive in and try things out. \n\n**How To Apply: **\n\nSubmit your resume and a few words about yourself, your achievements, what you love most in life, and what you want out of your career. We're not interested in standard issue cover letter babble and HR bubble wrap. Talk to us like a human being who values directness and using your own words. If you need to use a four-letter word to effectively express a previous engagement or an appropriately inappropriate metaphor to describe your ideal work environment, we'll take that over what you would think we typically "need to hear" in a job application. This is a full-time position with benefits and we're open to starting you with a freelance gig if wading into the water is preferred on both sides. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.

This job post is archived and the position is probably filled. Please do not apply.
Hiya 👋We’re the folks at Jilt, an email marketing platform built for eCommerce. We help thousands of stores surprise and delight their customers with automated emails that drive sales. We’re looking for a smart, detail-oriented person to join our team as our first front-end engineer.\n\n**The Role**\n\nYou’ll work closely with your teammates on the engineering team (Justin, Lucas, Hannes, Dani, and Jonathan) to create intuitive & engaging interfaces based on direction from the product team (Beka). While Jilt is built as a traditional Ruby/Rails app, we use Angular (v1) to power our visual email editor and Vue.js for some areas with a lot of dynamic content. You’ll work on both areas and help engineer an incredible user experience.\n\nWhile the majority of your time will be spent focused on the app front-end, we have some features that are powered by JavaScript running on our customer’s stores. This means you’ll be able to flex your defensive programming skills and ensure our code works in harmony with a wide variety of browsers and other 3rd party scripts.\n\nAs our first dedicated front-end engineer, the team will often look to you for advice and direction. You’ll help shape our best practices, decide on frameworks and tooling, and refactor older or underperforming parts of the codebase. You’ll also be responsible for moving your projects forward, communicating your progress and milestones with others, and clearly documenting your work.\n\n**Here are some things you may do on a given day:**\n\n- Write some new JavaScript (with unit tests 😄) to improve part of the onboarding flow\n- Track down a tricky bug in the email editor and develop a hotfix\n- Research and write a pitch to migrate our CSS to a new framework\n- Transform the design for a new part of the UI into HTML / CSS\n\n**On the first day you will:**\n\n- Meet your team and get familiar with how we work\n- Setup your local environment and tooling\n- Commit a small tweak to the codebase and ship it to production\n\n**In the first week you will:**\n\n- Develop, QA, review, and ship a small feature improvement\n- Participate in code review for a teammate’s code\n- Help a team member with fixing a bug\n\n**In the first month you will:**\n\n- Work closely with the product team to ship a large feature\n- Participate in your first support rotation week and help our support team with escalated issues\n- Publish a retrospective on your first large project to share successes & planned improvements for the next project\n\n**You**\n\nYou love writing JavaScript that’s clear, self-documenting, and standards-compliant, whether by itself, alongside jQuery, or as part of a JS framework like Vue, Angular, or React. You believe in combining JS with beautiful & semantic HTML / CSS and are comfortable with supersets like CoffeeScript and templating languages like Slim. You’re also comfortable with Ruby / Rails and can move seamlessly between working on the back-end code that produces the data you need for front-end interactions.\n\nYou love beautiful design and working with others to transform concepts into real-world interfaces that are a joy to use. You love keeping up-to-date with the latest best practices and tools, and are constantly tweaking and improving the way you work.\n\nYou’re excited to solve engineering challenges in the most pragmatic way possible, and most importantly, you keep the end user in mind and love getting feedback from customers to help improve our products.\n\nFinally, you can’t wait to join a small team that loves their work as much as you do, affords the opportunity to work on challenging & interesting projects, continuously learn and improve, and constantly ship your work. You’re an excellent writer and can communicate effectively whether drafting up a bug report, chatting in Slack, or editing a wiki page. You know that code is about communication and explaining your thought process clearly goes hand-in-hand.\n\nOur team is fully remote and stays in touch primarily via Slack and weekly check-ins over Zoom. That said, we believe spending time together is important — availability for 1-2 company-paid [team trips](https://jilt.com/blog/remote-team-retreat-2018/) per year is necessary.\n\nThis is a full-time, salaried position, but hours are flexible. We know your work will speak for itself with commits, issues closed, and wiki edits.\n\n**Here are some benefits we're happy to offer to our team members:**\n\n- Competitive salary\n- Annual incentive for meeting team and company goals\n- 27 days of paid time-off, in addition to 2 company holidays (SkyVerge Day in March, Founders Day in June 😀)\n- Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance for US and Canadian residents and their families (reimbursements for comparable care for non-US/Canadian residents)\n- 401k/RRSP Retirement plan with 4% company match for US/Canadian residents (contributions to comparable plans for non-US/Canadian residents)\n- 8 weeks paid parental leave for new mothers and fathers\n- Work flexible hours from anywhere that has a reliable internet connection\n- Tools (hardware/software) to help you be productive\n- Allowance for professional growth (books, courses, conferences)\n- Home office or co-working allowance\n- A Kindle to help you keep learning\n\n*We support workplace diversity and do not discriminate on any protected class. We believe when we work together as a team of different views, experiences, and ideas, we can build amazing things.* \n\n# Requirements\nPlease apply directly through the link below. **Plug in Useful make some of the [most popular SaaS web apps for Shopify](http://https://www.pluginuseful.com/collections/apps). With over 100k users we've followed the rapid growth of Shopify and are looking to add a senior engineer to our 100% remote team of six.**\n\nAs a Senior Software Engineer you'll have worked with React and Rails before and ideally have used the Flux pattern on a decent-sized web app. You can both architect software, building it from the ground up, and maintain existing systems in a thoughtful way.\n\nJust as important is how you approach problems and work in the team. We don't want someone who puts their headphones on for three days and churns out code. Your instinct is to collaborate.\n\nYou'll work closely with our product manager to gather requirements, come up with technical solutions, present these in a clear non-technical way and agree on what to do.\n\nYou'll both mentor and learn from our software engineer through code reviews and working on problems together. And you'll help our QA tester to understand changes, how best to test them and be responsive in fixing bugs.\n\nWe're 100% remote across different timezones so clear, regular communication is key. Your location isn't important as long as there's a roughly 4 hour overlap with Eastern Time and European Time.\n\nYou're experienced in working remotely and have found a schedule and setup that works best for you. If that's a coworking space we can pay for that, but that's optional since you decide where you're at your most productive.\n\n### Skills & Experience\n* 1+ years React or similar frontend frameworks\n* 3+ years Rails\n* 5+ years software engineering\n* Have worked on web apps, ideally B2B SaaS\n* Software architecture\n* Have used a few different software patterns\n* Very collaborative\n* Clear non-technical communicator\n* Have worked remotely\n* Curious about new technologies\n* Ideally have worked with Kanban \n\nFull time, 100% remote from any location with a 4 hour overlap with Eastern Time and European Time. We believe strongly in work/life balance with reasonable hours (usually 37.5 hours or occasionally more when required) and paid time off. \n\n# Requirements\nApply by sending your CV and a brief email intro to [email protected] We love it when you mention something from the job description.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, and why you think you’d be great for this role. Please include a link/reference to any Shopify stores you have created (if you haven't created any the position is likely not for you). \n* Create an email for [email protected] (Subject: Shopify Selling Expert Position)\n* Give us the link to your video (YouTube, Vimeo etc.) inside the email.\n* Attach your CV/resume in PDF format and send it.

SkyVerge is looking for a talented full-stack PHP engineer to join our team and help build our portfolio of WordPress plugins for WooCommerce. You'll write code that helps power mission-critical tools for millions of online stores.\n\n**The Role**\n\nYou’ll focus on building new features and maintaining existing code, while also helping with code reviews and customer support. With over 60 different plugins, there’s a wide variety of work. You might spend time on some complicated frontend interactions using JS, then switch focus to working with a tricky external REST API for a while, and later work on adding unit/acceptance tests to our framework code.\nYou’ll have the opportunity to really dive into a problem and understand it before crafting a well-engineered, high quality solution. We believe the best work happens when given lots of uninterrupted time to think and code.\n\nOur plugins are built on top of WordPress and designed to work with WooCommerce, so we use PHP 5.3+ (moving soon to PHP 5.6 minimum) and we write all new JS in CoffeeScript. We follow a superset of the WordPress coding standards and actively invest in tooling & testing to improve both the quality of our products and the happiness of our team building them.\n\nWe work primarily through GitHub and Slack, so you should be able clearly express your ideas via comments and messages. All new code is tested and peer-reviewed, so you’ll be able to both learn from the rest of the team and share your knowledge.\n\n**You**\n\nYou love solving engineering challenges in the most pragmatic way possible. You write code that's clear, readable, and standards-compliant. More importantly, you keep the end user in mind and love getting feedback from customers to help improve our products.\n\nYou're excited to join a small team that loves their work as much as you do, and affords the opportunity to work on interesting projects, continuously learn and improve, and constantly ship cool projects. You're an excellent communicator, whether written, in person, or via video chat (native-level English fluency is required). You know that code is about communication and that explaining yourself clearly goes hand-in-hand.\n\nOur team is fully remote and stays in touch primarily via Slack and weekly check-ins over Zoom. That said, we believe spending time together is important — availability for 1-2 company-paid team trips ([SkyTrip!](https://www.skyverge.com/blog/skytrip-2018-recap/)) per year is necessary.\n\nThis is a full-time, salaried position, but hours are flexible. We know your work will speak for itself with commits, issues closed, and wiki edits.\n\n**Process**\n\nAfter an initial screening, you’ll get an email with a few questions to answer. Following that, you’ll have a few 30 minute phone chats with different people on our team to learn more about you and answer any questions you have about the position and company.\n\nIf this goes well, we’ll invite you to join our team and start your 4-week trial. During this period you’ll work full-time as a contractor, or part-time on nights/weekends if you already have a full-time position. This gives you an opportunity to make sure you enjoy the work and the team, and it gives us an opportunity to evaluate your work. We’ll have regular chats each week to share feedback and make sure we’re on the same page. At the end of the 4 weeks, you’ll be offered a permanent position 🙂\n\n**Benefits**\n\nHere are some benefits we're happy to offer to our team members:\n\n- Competitive salary\n- Annual incentive for meeting team and company goals\n- 27 days of paid time-off, in addition to 2 company holidays (SkyVerge Day in March, Founders Day in June 😀)\n- Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance for US and Canadian residents and their families (reimbursements for comparable care for non-US/Canadian residents)\n- 401k/RRSP Retirement plan with 4% company match for US/Canadian residents (contributions to comparable plans for non-US/Canadian residents)\n- Work flexible hours from anywhere that has a reliable internet connection\n- Tools (hardware/software) to help you be productive\n- Allowance for professional growth (books, courses, conferences)\n- Home office or co-working allowance\n- A Kindle to help you keep learning\n\n*We support workplace diversity and do not discriminate on any protected class. We believe when we work together as a team of different views, experiences, and ideas, we can build amazing things.*

SaleHoo is a New Zealand-based company creating online tools and training for people looking to start their own online businesses. We’re based in Christchurch, but the majority of our team work remotely from various places around the world.\nWe're looking for a talented individual to join us in writing content for our popular wholesale directory, SaleHoo.com\nOur directory contains an educational section covering topics including eBay selling, Amazon selling, what products sell well online, how to market physical products online, importing and shipping and so on.\nWe're looking for someone with experience with these topics and industry to help us write lessons, scripts and blog posts (and whatever else turns up!).\n* You should be experienced in at least several aspects of this industry: For instance, online selling, wholesale sourcing, marketing physical products.\n* You must be able to break a task down and get right to the heart of it: No lessons full of fluff, no beating around the bush. Our users want clear-as-day, step-by-step, hype-free lessons.\n* You should be a clear thinker: Able to objectively analyse a piece and ask yourself whether it is truly succeeding in what it's trying to do, and not afraid to overhaul something that isn't working.\n* You must be good at paying attention to detail and checking facts (things change rapidly in this industry!)\n* And obviously, your technical grasp of English must be good and things you write must be readable and make sense. The "making sense" part is the most important. SkyVerge is looking for a talented full-stack PHP engineer to join our team and help build our portfolio of WordPress plugins for WooCommerce. You'll write code that helps power mission-critical tools for millions of online stores.\n\n**The Role**\n\nYou’ll be focused on building new features and maintaining existing code, while also helping with code reviews and customer support. With over 50 different plugins, there’s a wide variety of work. You might spend time on some complicated frontend interactions using JS, then switch focus to working with a tricky external REST API for a while, and later work on adding unit/acceptance tests to our [framework code](https://github.com/skyverge/wc-plugin-framework).\n\nYou’ll have the opportunity to really dive into a problem and understand it before crafting a well-engineered, high quality solution. We believe the best work happens when given lots of uninterrupted time to think and code.\n\nOur plugins are built on top of WordPress and designed to work with WooCommerce, so we use PHP 5.2+ (moving soon to PHP 5.3 minimum) and we write all new JS in CoffeeScript. We follow a superset of the WordPress coding standards and are actively investing in automated testing to help improve both the quality of products and the happiness of our team building them.\n\nWe work primarily through GitHub and Slack, so you should be able clearly express your ideas via comments and messages. All new code is tested and peer-reviewed, so you’ll be able to both learn from the rest of the team and share your knowledge.\n\n**You**\n\nYou love solving engineering challenges in the most pragmatic way possible. You write code that's clear, readable, and standards-compliant. More importantly, you keep the end user in mind and love getting feedback from customers to help improve our products.\n\nYou're excited to join a small team that loves their work as much as you do, and affords the opportunity to work on interesting projects, continuously learn and improve, and to constantly ship cool projects. You're an excellent communicator, whether written, in person, or via video chat (native-level English fluency is required). You know that code is about communication and that explaining yourself clearly goes hand-in-hand.\n\nOur team is fully remote and stays in touch primarily via Slack and weekly stand-ups over Zoom. That said, we believe face time is valuable. Availability for 1-2 company-paid team trips ([SkyTrip!](https://www.skyverge.com/blog/skytrip-2017-recap/)) per year is necessary.\n\nThis is a full-time, salaried position, but hours are flexible. We know your work will speak for itself with commits, issues closed, and wiki edits.\n\n**Process**\n\nQualified candidates will get an email with a few questions to answer via email. At the end of the 4 weeks, you’ll be offered a permanent position 🙂\n\n**Benefits**\n\nHere are some benefits we're excited to offer to our team members:\n\n- Competitive salary\n- Annual incentive for meeting team and company goals\n- 25 days of paid time-off, in addition to 2 company holidays (SkyVerge Day in March, Founders Day in June 😀)\n- Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance for US and Canadian residents and their families (reimbursements for comparable care for non-US/Canadian residents)\n- 401k/RRSP Retirement plan with 4% company match for US/Canadian residents (contributions to comparable plans for non-US/Canadian residents)\n- Work from anywhere that has a reliable internet connection\n- The tools (hardware/software) you need to be productive\n- Allowance for professional growth (books, courses, conferences)\n- Home office or co-working allowance\n- A Kindle to help you keep learning\n\n_We support workplace diversity and do not discriminate on any protected class. We believe when we work together as a team of different views, experiences, and ideas, we can build amazing things_.

Basics of the front-end developer position:\n+ You’d be developing custom WordPress sites. We believe in coding custom sites from scratch and we hope you do too.\n+ You’d be in charge of technical support tickets as they come into Teamwork. Delegation, client communication, and team support are key aspects of this responsibility.\n+ You’d be communicating with the team regularly. We use Slack for regular communication and Basecamp for project management. There are occasionally some video chats we’ll need to do either via video chat.\n\nJOB BENEFITS:\n+ You can work from anywhere. No moving for a job involved. If you’re happy where you are, stay there. If you’re unhappy, move somewhere new. This job will go with you.\n+ You decide what you want your hours to be for projects. For technical support, we can discuss what time would be best for that support work. You will need to communicate with the team regularly.\n+ You get paid on a per project basis for full-scale projects and hourly for technical support work. \n\nSKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:\nYou should have a solid understanding of WordPress, SASS, CSS, PHP and Javascript. You should have experience coding WordPress themes, from scratch. If you’re familiar with Shopify, even better as we do have some simple projects coming up for that platform.\n\nOther skills:\n+ You know how to work with Woocommerce.\n+ You’ve used Advanced Custom Fields before (we use this on many projects).\n+ You understand how to work with cPanels, update databases directly, and are confident migrating + websites to new hosts.\nYou can troubleshoot when a site has been hacked or simply been broken by a client who has gone too far in code.\n\nThis job IS for you if:\n+ You believe the best code is clean, simple, and well-organized.\n+ You are detailed oriented and meticulous. You get letter spacing, fonts, and column widths right. And you’ll even make sure the site ends up with custom favicon.\n+ You get projects done on time (or early).\n+ You are honest and have no tolerance for drama.\n+ You like working on projects for soulful and creative entrepreneurs.\n+ You can handle a workload of at least 1-2 custom projects per month. Projects vary in length, taking anywhere between 10 and 30 hours (for a skilled developer), with some larger ones taking longer.\n+ You are comfortable using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to gather information from designs for development.\n+ You can commit to the position for at least nine months.\n\nOur ideal candidate is a developer who has an exacting aesthetic eye and the ability to make things so intuitive that the non savvy user can feel comfortable editing.\n\nThis job IS NOT for you if:\n+ You are repeatedly late getting work done.\n+ You dislike or have problems with regular communication.\n+ You prefer to start out with a pre-made theme with page builders for website development.\n+ You often miss details.\n+ You think that a 28px margin is the same thing as a 25px margin. Or that Helvetica is the same thing as Open Sans.\n\nMost projects last between 2 and 5 weeks, depending upon the size of the project and the client feedback process.

You’ll be expected to own the support queue for a set of products for a week before rotating to another set. We’re aiming for you to have broad knowledge (mile-wide, inch-deep) and work closely with the product & engineering team to tackle more technical or in-depth questions that go beyond your knowledge.\n\n## You\nYou have that unique combination of technical aptitude and empathy for the user. You’re comfortable with code but prefer to be customer-facing. You’re self-driven with a sense of urgency and draw satisfaction from going above and beyond to provide solutions. Perhaps most importantly, you have a willingness to learn.\n\nTo succeed in this position, you will have:\n\n- solid understanding of HTML / CSS\n- Working knowledge of JavaScript\n- Native-level fluency in English (Are you fluent in other languages? Tell us! We love being able to support customers in their native language.)\n- Outstanding written communication and interpersonal skills\n- Boundless curiosity for our products and our customers\n- Ability to thrive in a remote environment (along with a reliable internet connection)\n\nIt’s helpful if you have:\n\n- Experience with PHP / Ruby (or other programming languages)\n- Experience with WordPress\n- Experience with Shopify / WooCommerce (or other eCommerce platforms)\n- Experience supporting SaaS products\n- Experience supporting downloadable software (especially in the LAMP stack)\n\nOur team is fully-remote and we communicate primarily through Slack, GitHub, and weekly stand-ups on Monday via Zoom (a few short meetings on Monday) — we believe the best work happens when given lots of uninterrupted time that’s free of distractions.\n\nAs a remote team, we believe that regular meet-ups are invaluable for getting to know each other better, so you should be available for 1-2 company-paid team trips per year. If you think ecommerce can be an *experience*, not just a transaction, help us build the future.\n\nAt [Tortuga Backpacks](http://www.tortugabackpacks.com), you will create the visual identity and user experience for a successful, but still early stage, travel company. Join us as the second full-time member of our design team alongside Patrick, our industrial designer.\n\nPlease note that we are a small team. You should have a holistic skill set and be willing to take on any design-related challenge from research to conception to development.\n\n### Mission\nTo grow Tortuga Backpacks’ community of travelers through amazing customer experiences with our websites and products.\n\n### Objectives\n* Research, design, and build a modern ecommerce website that tells a story and engages our community of travelers, not just one that sells products. Examples: [Pencil](http://www.fiftythree.com/pencil), [Smart Bedding](http://smartbedding.com/), [Trunkster](http://www.trunkster.co/), [Everlane](https://www.everlane.com/collections/mens-sweaters/products/mens-double-knit-crew-grey-ivory), [Beard Brand](http://www.beardbrand.com/).\n* Define Tortuga Backpacks’ brand identity for use on our web sites, product packaging and labeling, and marketing. Publish brand guidelines for the rest of the team to use.\n* Create packaging, labeling, and inserts for our new and redesigned products to improve our customer experience.\n* Improve our website and blog through A/B testing and conversion optimization\n\n### Requirements\n* **Jill/Jack-of-All-Trades**: Taking on any design-related challenge while learning new skills and upgrading existing ones.\n* **Ecommerce User Experience**: Creating an ecommerce experience that tells a story, builds a community, and sells products, not just a stock theme. Bonus points for experience with Shopify, our ecommerce platform.\n* **Branding**: Defining the visual identity of a brand from (almost) scratch.\n* **Front-End Development**: Building websites in HTML and CSS. Bonus points for Javascript and Liquid (Shopify’s language).\n\n### Do Not Apply If...\n* You don’t care *deeply* about travel. If you ever get sick of thinking about travel, we are not the right company for you.\n* You like working at a big company. We are a small business. There is no HR department. There are no layers of management. If *you* need something done, *you* do it.\n\n### Benefits\nAside from getting to work with other travel lovers, all full-time employees receive the following benefits.\n\n* **Work from Anywhere**: Tortuga Backpacks is 100% distributed. Decide where you work best, whether that's from home, a coffeeshop, a co-working space, or another country.\n* **Team Retreats**: Once per year, we gather in one place to work together, to plan the future of the company, and to have fun in-person. Our last retreat was in [San Sebastían, Spain](https://goo.gl/photos/2ucJrNKfprQR1cbV9).\n* **Unlimited Vacation**: You decide how much of a break you need and when. Just promise to tell us about your trip when you get back.\n* **Free Gear**: All the bags and accessories you need for your future travels.\n* **Total Coverage**: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance. We pay 100% of your premiums and 50% of your dependents' premiums.\n\nExtra tags: ux, user experience, ecommerce

\nYou are a Frontend Developer in our SaaS Practice, focusing on building our BigCommerce and Shopify stores. You work with your team to deliver your projects on-time and on-budget, working closely with your customers and the wider business.\n\nHere’s how your week may look:\n\nYou start your day in a team Stand Up discussing progress you made yesterday, listening to your team members describe their current issues and dropping some knowledge bombs on how you “solved this last time”. You’re working from home today, so you pay the pet tax and encourage your four-legged-friend wave to the camera before logging off.\n\nFirst up you’ve got a pair-programming session with a Junior Developer in your team to help them through a tough UI problem that they’ve been working on. They’ve been steadily improving under your experienced wing and are turning into a really productive team member.\n\nAfter lunch you’ll set your Slack status and turn on Do Not Disturb for a couple of hours while you debug a weird issue with a customer’s site. Shopify recently released an update to the checkout and (for some reason!) your customer’s site stopped working. You find the problem, update the functional tests to cover this use case and let the Project Manager know the good news! You push your feature branch to Bitbucket and watch Bitbucket Pipelines build your artifact and prove that your tests pass.\n\nYour JIRA issue has automatically transitioned to “In Code Review” and you open your pull request, studying your diff carefully before assigning it to your team mate for a sanity check.\n\nTomorrow (assuming all is well!) you’ll merge your pull request into a release branch and let Pipelines deploy it to Staging where it will be regression tested by the QA Team and their bank of automated tests. It should be out to Production by the end of the week, providing we can get through the testing and get client sign off by 2pm on Thursday.\n\nIf you read this and it sounds like your ideal job — we want you on the team!\n\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\n\nThe following should give you an idea of how you’ll be expected to typically be spending your time. It’s not set in stone and it may change from week-to-week, but it gives an idea of what is expected from the role.\n\nSoftware Development (90%)\n\nYou’ll be spending the majority of your time working on delivering projects for our customers with your team. You’ll be building BigCommerce and Shopify themes, working with the design and CX team to bring our customers requirements to life!\n\nYou’ll work with the Practice Lead to progress our platform specific goals and build out tools and products to make sure we’re constantly improving on how we work.\n\nDepending on your experience, a portion of this time is expected to be spent assisting other team members in delivering their work effectively.\n\nPersonal Development (10%)\n\nKeeping up with new software releases, development practices, horror stories and post mortems are  an essential part of any Software Developer’s time! Use this time to push forward your objectives and research tools and techniques you need to stay productive.\n\nWho You Are\n\nHere’s an idea of the type of experience you’ve got along with an idea of what we think would be useful to also know:\n\nEssential Technical Skills\n\n\n* HTML\n\n* CSS\n\n* Client-Side JavaScript\n\n* Experience working with one or more JavaScript based build tool (e.g. Grunt, Gulp, Webpack)\n\n* Experience working with Git\n\n* Knowledge of the HTTP and H2  protocols, in particular how they are relevant to frontend performance\n\n* Knowledge of web application security as it pertains to frontend web development\n\n* A frontend specialism / interest (e.g. accessibility, performance, user experience) \n\n\n\n\nDesirable Technical Skills\n\n\n* Building Shopify or BigCommerce themes\n\n* Typescript\n\n* React\n\n* Experience using one or more Unix Shells (e.g. bash, zsh)\n\n* Experience unit and functional testing with JavaScript\n\n* Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, BitBucket)\n\n\n\n\nEssential Knowledge and Experience\n\n\n* Experience of the full software lifecycle\n\n* Experience dealing directly with non-technical stakeholders\n\n* Highly motivated with demonstrable technical and analytical skills\n\n* Desire to further technical skills and knowledge\n\n* Attention to detail, commitment and desire to complete a consistently high standard of work\n\n* Advanced time management skills with the ability to manage own tasks to agreed timelines with limited supervision\n\n* Able to clearly communicate complex design and development decisions\n\n* Able to articulate complex technical solutions with minimal assistance\n\n* Able to design and build complex technical solutions with minimal assistance\n\n* Strong communication skills\n\n\n\n\nDesirable Knowledge and Experience\n\n\n* One year of development experience working in a development team within a commercial environment\n\n* One year of software development experience on an ecommerce platform\n\n* Experience with Agile methodologies\n\n* Managing tasks and timelines of a development team, within a commercial environment\n\n* Advanced knowledge of best practice and architecture for complex web applications\n\n* Advanced knowledge of and able to avoid common security issues in web applications\n\n\n\n\nYour Responsibilities\n\nThe following are the types of tasks that you may be required to perform as part of your role.\n\n\n* Build Software\n\n\n\n* Interpret business requirements and technical specification documents, to deliver an appropriate technical solution to agreed quality and timelines\n\n* Write software to an agreed set of coding standards\n\n* Create, document, and implement automated test scenarios\n\n* Create and maintain technical documentation\n\n* Set up and maintain deployment systems\n\n* Participate in manual testing of work in progress\n\n* To be part of an escalation process for technical guidance in the wider development team\n\n\n\n* Maintain Software\n\n\n\n* Perform maintenance development\n\n* Investigate, analyse and document defects\n\n* Correct identified defects\n\n* Support customers out-of-hours as part of an on-call rota\n\n\n\n* Communicate with Team\n\n\n\n* Provide progress reports on tasks and projects\n\n\n\n* Assist in Planning\n\n\n\n* Participate in project planning meetings\n\n* Participate in Discovery sessions\n\n* Create business requirement and technical specification documents\n\n\n\n* Share Knowledge and Ideas\n\n\n\n* Proactively suggest improvements in customer programmes of work\n\n* Actively support and mentor less senior members of the development team\n\n* Perform related duties as assigned.\n\n\n\n\n

\nWe are looking for a user interface and user experience specialist to help us design and improve our eCommerce (Drupal/Ubercart) experience for both customers and employees. We primarily sell apparel both blank and decorated through the website. \n\nThe ideal applicant will ideally have some experience with HTML/CSS and also have a keen eye for design. We run a highly customized Drupal platform so any Drupal experience is a major plus, especially Drupal theme design. \n\nFor our remote workers we prefer to get a time estimate ahead of time, estimates will be approved for a set number of hours and work can begin. This means we can keep tabs on cost without having to set extremely tight deadlines or monitor your work excessively.\n\nHere are examples of projects you may be directed to work on:\n\n\n* Design language creation\n\n* Admin order management user interface\n\n* Customer facing quoting tool user interface\n\n\n

\nKeen IO is seeking engineers to join our Platform team. We build and nurture an Analytics API that processes user data and queries around the clock, across diverse industries. Whether it’s gaming, e-commerce, advertising, publishing, or IoT, our platform aims to make Analytics so easy for developers that they can focus entirely on their product. Every day, every week, every month our challenge is to scale with a constantly growing data deluge and evolve along with our user’s needs.\n\nAbout the Platform Team\n\nWe work together in a pretty novel fashion - servant leaders are elected from the team, by the team. Responsibilities normally held by a single manager are separated across multiple roles. We have very open discussions about our shared priorities.\n\nWe’re always iterating on how we work and what we build. We’re growing fast and we know that what worked a year ago won’t necessarily work a year from now. This applies both to the technology and the organizations of our teams. We want to provide the best analytics experience for developers and co-create the best work environment for each other - willingness to evolve is essential.\n\nAbout the Job\n\nBy centralizing a data pipeline for hundreds of companies, we operate at a scale that none of them have to worry about. Looking to the horizon, we need to look at every piece of our infrastructure with a critical eye. We need to stay ahead of the curve. You will help us be thoughtful and deliberate about tackling the right bottlenecks at the right time. You’ll help make working on the platform easier and easier. You’ll have the opportunity to gain deep understanding of distributed systems and teach others! Most importantly, you’ll collaborate with some pretty amazing humans.

\nWe’re looking for a fearless, skilled technical Android developer who is keen to go up against the big guys.  You are passionate about personal privacy on the Internet, and do not approve of vultures (marketers) using your private information against you. Does this sound like you?\n\nWorking closely with the Lead Developer/Technical Cofounder, you will research, create, and design a working prototype (Android application) that manipulates cookies, spoofs IP addresses, user-based attribution models, and other personal details ecommerce companies (and 3rd party marketers) steal from you – and use against you when you’re online.  Apart from a few design requirements, you'd have flexibility in designing and crafting the prototype. \n\nYou will be designing a consumer facing software product that allows users to surf the Internet (including model devices) leaving no traces of who they are.  You will design software that scrambles users online identities, spending and browsing habits, locations, and other private information, so that user’s personal and private data cannot be used against them.   \n\nYou will be offered competitive compensation, stock options.  You will work closely with the two cofounders, and be able to help form a young company’s technical backbone.  We have 40 years of combined experience (especially within cyber security) starting, financing, and selling companies.  We’ve raised venture capital, exited one startup, cheated death, and enjoy challenging the status quo.  \n\nWe’re also flexible and laid back, yet determined to level the online playing field.  Are you?\n\nWorking remotely is an option.

\nEvery day at Rocksauce Studios, we do amazing things. Our team has done work for major brands such as Disney, Polaris, Kubota and AutoTrader. The Rocksauce Studios UX & UI teams are renowned for our design work and we're looking for ambitious developers who want to make apps as slick as they are beautiful. \n\nRocksauce is looking for a talented and creative Front-End Web Engineer to join our collaborative team. We're looking for someone that understands that front-end is more than just lines of code and sees beauty in things that are simple, easy to use, and meets our users' needs. We want someone who loves to create elaborate, responsive, exciting, and engaging solutions for desktop & mobile web, for both Appreneur, e-Commerce, and corporate clients alike. You will be leading development efforts on our best and largest Single Page Applications, but also experience variety by applying your expertise of modern web standards to beautiful design across project types, speak into technical direction and occasionally support our team on the back-end.\n\nIf this seems like a great fit for you, include your resume and any reference you might have with your submission and be prepared to show examples of your work and submit code for vetting by our development staff.
