Hello. We are ShipHero (https://shiphero.com). We have built a software platform entrusted by hundreds of ecommerce companies, large and small to run their operations. Many of our customers sell on Shopify and/or Amazon. We’re driven to help our customers grow their businesses, by providing a platform that solves complex problems, and is engineered to be reliable and fast. We are obsessed with building great technology, that is beautiful and easy to use. Our culture also reflects our ethos and belief that by bringing passionate, talented and great people together - you can do great things.

Our team is remote, with all our engineers either in New York or Argentina (BS AS and Mar del Plata). We do daily stand-ups via Google Hangouts and communicate regularly using video chat and Slack.

We are seeking a senior software engineer with extraordinary programming and analytic abilities. You would be a fundamental member of the team focusing on building a solid foundation for the platform. We seek people who are excited and driven to grow with the experience of working with talented engineers. We are obsessed with disrupting an industry that desperately needs it, by continuing to build tools that help make our customers do great things.

We are hiring engineers in American timezones only for right now.

About You

* You understand that great things are accomplished when teams work together.

* You’ve got lots of experience with Python, MySQL, SQLAlchemy and FLASK.

* You’ve worked on high-scale products and high-load DBs.

* You have lots of AWS experience.

At Canonical it is our mission to make open source software available to people everywhere. We believe the best way to fuel innovation is to give the innovators the technology they need. As a Systems Reliability Engineer (SRE) for the Information Services (IS) team you'll play a key role in driving this mission and helping to define the future of free software.

SREs work closely with development teams to build and maintain the extraordinary infrastructure required to run all of Canonical and Ubuntu’s systems and services. From developing automated processes for faster, more reliable deployments to building large and scalable cloud environments, every day at Canonical is an opportunity to learn something new and collaborate with some of the most talented technical minds in the industry.

This will require an overlap of development and administration skills, as you help write and review code you will then use to deploy and maintain services using Canonical's cloud products.

3. Larger project work, currently focused on large scale cloud deployments and overall process improvements. This role gives SREs the ability to utilize development and architecting skills in a focused manner that is unique to Canonical.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

You have prior experience working in a large highly available environment
You are willing to be flexible and adaptable with the ability to learn new things quickly.
You have strong development skills (Python, Go, Ruby, etc.) with experience writing code.
You are heavily focused on automation preferably with experience in building and maintaining self-service tools.

[Sworkit][2] is a leading fitness app built with Ionic, Firebase, and Node. We are looking for a part time remote engineer to help us create our own internal tools for analyzing our users' behaviors based on data we are already collecting.

You would ideally be open for a few weeks of contracting to get a feel for where things are headed, with a strong openness to an ongoing part-time or full-time position to join the team if we have been able to convince you it is where you want to be. With over a million active users, this job will give you an opportunity to work on and directly influence a project with a growing global audience.

We are a remote team spread across the U.S. and UK so you would enjoy the flexibility to work from anywhere you would like (U.S. or UK citizens/permanent residents only for longer term work). We value balancing our work to allow for plenty of flexible time that can be spent with our families and friends, while continuing to make a difference in people's health.

Some work you may do:

* Assist with transferring Firebase JSON backups through CloudDataflow to send it to BigQuery
* Access BigQuery data to create and schedule queries of cached data for reports and analysis
* Integrate this with our Google Analytics for a full view of acquisition and behavior
* Experience with Looker and LookML is a bonus

Some of your skills:

* Experience with Firebase and BigQuery
* Respect for user data and privacy
* Experience building backend services with the language of your choice
* Motivation to carry out tasks from just a simple explanation of the problem to be solved

This project will work to answer question like:
* What % of installs converted to accounts (Firebase)?
* How many of those who did not create accounts have completed a full session?
* How many who DID create accounts completed a full session?
* How many of those users used Sworkit in the last 7 days?
* How many users were we able to re-activate after sending out an email reminder?

We work lean and fast, relying on Slack, git, Trello and only one short weekly conference call for our remote communication needs.

Our team members are also involved with great initiatives like:

[Codebar.io][3] \- Enabling women, LGBTQ and people who are underrepresented in the tech industry to learn programming

[PowerMoves.NOLA][4] \- Creating the opportunity of high-growth minority entrepreneurship

[1 Million Cups][5] \- Educating, engaging, and connecting entrepreneurs

We look forward to hearing from you!

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

Hi, I'm Dejan, the project lead at Niteo, a remote-first SaaS company with team members from the UK, Slovenia, Romania, Ukraine, and the Philippines. We live and breathe Open Source: you can read about how we work in our public Handbook and on our blog. We're growing steadily and looking for help keeping our customers happy.

Our main project is a fully automated WordPress hosting platform called Easy Blog Networks. Our upcoming project WooCart is also based on Wordpress: we say it's "WooCommerce-as-a-Service" and our goal is to make WooCommerce as approachable as Shopify.

And that's where you come in!

Most of our back-office systems (control panel, billing, user management, technical support, etc.) are built on Python, more specifically, Pyramid. We're looking for someone who is well versed in training snakes for the Web! Expect a varied workload, from digging deep in performance issues, developing new features and submitting patches to existing ones, and writing a bunch of tests in the meantime.

It is our belief that the ratio of women and/or people of color in tech teams should be higher. We believe diversity has its challenges, but the benefits far outweigh them. We strongly encourage people from underrepresented groups to apply for this position.

**Why work with us?**

You will be regarded as a responsible and reliable adult. We put a lot of trust in you and give you the autonomy to do your job the best you can. You receive the training you need to do the job, then we set your goals and define your tasks together. After that, you plan and organize yourself. You set your own work schedule. You work on days you want to and from where you want to. You tell us when you go on a vacation and for how long.

In the end, you are judged on your results and how well you work with your peers. If you need someone to always tell you what to do and how to do it, then it's best you find something else.

**Benefits**

* Competitive pay with quarterly profit sharing among employees.
* Paid conferences, courses, books, and gadgets.
* Lots of growth opportunities.
* Friendly co-workers from whom you'll learn a ton and who are all great people.
* 22 days of paid vacation per year, paid overtime, paid sick leave.
* Read more about our benefits on our Careers page and in our Handbook.

Fantastic opportunity for an ambitious programmer. Our stack: React, Python/Django, Postgres on AWS. We are looking for very strong app dev backend Python skills. Lots of ORM work. Lots of complex business logic. When we say "app dev backend Python skills" we mean you've written hundreds of thousands of lines of complex python code over years in a deployed application used by thousands of end users, not a few a dozen deployment scripts used by other engineers on your team. That said, your front end skills can suck. :)

We are based in Durango, CO, but you can work anywhere in the U.S. You can work from home, or we will set you up in a co-working space with your own office wherever you want. There's minor travel a couple of times a year here to Durango which is a pretty fun place to have to go to for work. We are perfectly set up for remote developers and most of our communication is via slack, email, and jira.

This is a standard software development job, so all the usual duties apply: write code, test code, review code, do tickets, occasional meetings for requirements (we keep it really light). The basic job is: write good code, get it live, rinse and repeat.

GitPrime is an amazing company. We are doing fascinating work to help engineers all over the world reach their potential as professional coders. We pay really well, have great benefits, give stock options so we all share in the upside, and we let you work from wherever you want.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $90,000.00 to $140,000.00 /year

Job description

In the last years, we successfully built up an R&D company that develops great products using latest technologies. We do this with an unique approach: combining a fixed core team and a huge and strong community of developers, engineers, makers, hackers, and designers. In the community, there are freelancers, academic researchers, and senior elite students that then work on projects on a flexible basis.

You could join our community as a Django Backend Engineer in a student job position (in Gemany called "Werkstudent").

This is not a 100% remote position. You'll have the option to work remotely, but it is not a fully remote position. Please don't apply if you can't guarantee to come to our office in Munich or Stuttgart once in a while (especially in the first few months).

Your profile

* Currently pursuing studies in Computer Science, Information Systems, Informatics, or similar

* Optimally located in southern German area (e.g. Stuttgart, Munich, Augsburg, Nuremberg, Karlsruhe, etc.), as Werkstudenten should be able to come our offices every now and then

* Hand-on experience in web application technologies such as Python, Django, or Flask (or NodeJS maybe)

* Good software engineering basics (e.g. patterns, architectural questions)

* Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, PostgreSQL)

* Having worked in agile environments, being able to follow the SCRUM process

* Good communication skills in English in writing and speaking

* Having worked with Docker, GitLab CI, or comparable tools

* Any Frontend (JavaScript, ReactJS, ReactNative) experience would be awesome

Your Role

* Taking over a central role in web development projects at Motius

* Joining various teams, topics, and customers (e.g. Microsoft, Innogy, BMW, Siemens) for building strong and beautiful web & app projects, e.g. for Smart City usecases, Blockchain applications, or IoT products

* Perspective: after graduating becoming a fullstack engineer and leading the scrum process with teams of 2-5 other developers and 1-2 DevOps engineers

* Discussing the technical realisation of feature requests with Product & Project Owners

* Organizing code reviews, pair programming sessions for improving the quality of the team

What we offer

* Being part of our huge and interdisciplinary tech community of 600-800 developers, engineers, makers, hackers, etc.

* Flexibility (remote work 30-70% possible)

* Above average salary (for Munich tech startups)

* Getting great and unique insights into different industries by joining different projects from time to time, e.g. building a solution with BMW in the IoT area for 4 months, and then joining a Microsoft Xbox project afterwards

Some of the values we share here are

* open communication and a constant feedback culture (flat hierarchies help here)

* diverse teams (not really a value, but diverse teams lead to great results in our opinion)

* comitted to personal growth (as a young company, we all grow day by day)

* eagerness, curiosity, and desire to build new products, learn new things, try things out, fail fast, etc.

What you can expect here

* a young team that wants to grow with you

* a steep learning curve and definitely a place to take over ownership and responsibility for something

* a diverse team with over 10 nationalities and tech backgrounds as software engineers, designers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, etc.

* a self-funded healthy startup that grows constantly and is profitable from year one

* of course coffee and team building events and all these hippie startup things

APPLICATION PROCESS:

Please apply either via Stackoverflow or via our Motius Platform (www.motius.de/talents) directly in our community

A new opportunity — Wanted: Tech Lead with Product Owner experience for growing company going places * Hi there,

My name is Kuty. I work with entrepreneur and speaker Michael Hagler.

Together we run a software development company that solves hard problems for enterprise grade companies - some are names you know, others are huge but you never noticed them.

Our clients include world leading logistics companies, billion dollar hedge funds, Hollywood Studios, leading Fintech organizations, as well as startups by ex-googlers and serial entrepreneurs. We’ve run over a dozen launches the past year alone, and projects keep getting more and more interesting!

Check us out here: http://Clevertech.biz

For the right person, this is a dream opportunity — and dream company. For others, the pace is daunting.

We are growing, and we’re looking for a tech lead who also knows how to lead and own a product. We have a team of over 125 but this position leads a single focused team of 3-7 dedicated developers to solve a tough problem for our clients  — giving the right people a chance to shape what we do.

We’re looking for someone who is experienced in software development, has career successes under their belt, and now wants to apply all they’ve learned to the hard problems of today, while being 100% remote. On top of that, you have a great reason for wanting to be remote.

The right candidate has worked in larger organizations/super fast paced organizations and is familiar with the lay of the land of complex requirements from a multi-faceted management team. This person has taken a product from design to production and is well versed in the software architecture of the production landscape. Whether between projects or in a place where they’ve gotten all that they can out of their current position, the proposition of a new opportunity is one that excites them.

Our ideal candidate… 1) Has a strong background in software and product development 2) Is a capable manager 3) Is on the cutting edge of tech 4) Is empathetic to concerns of others

We’re a great company to join. Here’s why…

The company is growing and you will be getting in at the ground level. This is one of our most important positions, and crucial to making sure our next steps are the right ones.
We have an unbelievably engaged team, with world-class people in every position that continue to create accomplishments for our clients
We’ve got our ducks in a row. We have solid processes across the company that’ll allow you to start in fifth gear from day one.
Our clients are fantastic. We take on just the best with the most interesting puzzles and are incredibly selective in who we work with. We turn down projects daily, so we only focus on the best problems of the day.
We’re a remote company and you’ve the freedom to work from anywhere (preferably we’re looking for someone in the US, Canada or Western Europe, but open to candidates the world over).
We’re going places.
You want to try work at a place where you are racing to keep up, not waiting for your peers to catch you.
* To apply… For those who stand out, we will be in touch to discuss next steps. There’s no deadline for submissions, but those who apply sooner are at an advantage. If you haven’t heard from us within a week of writing, please assume that on this occasion you haven’t been selected for an interview. However, that might change any time.

It’s a fun journey, and we hope you can join us.

Best of luck, and we look forward to hearing from you.

What we can offer you:

* An amazing opportunity to be an integral part of building the next multi-billion dollar consumer brand around the single largest purchase of our lives.

* You will be working with a passionate, mission-driven team that is disrupting the status quo.
