Affiliate Plug.in

Affiliate Plug.in is the oldest project. It’s a project that has been running since 2011, where the initial development began. The core features are creating price comparisons, by scraping webshops, primarily within the affiliate marketing industry.

The plugin is currently in it’s second version, but the development of v3 has begun, and is a rewrite from scratch, where the initial architecture has been defined.

Currently, Affiliate Plug.in only operates in Denmark, but the international potential is there, and with v3 we’re going all-in on the international approach.

TTF

TTF is the other main project of 8-). The development has just begun a month ago, and the initial thoughts about the architecture has just begun.

The project is essentially an analysis-platform, that calculates a set of results based on a lot of user input, through a formula created on a WordPress site.

The system is a bit unusual in the WordPress sense, since we’re using MongoDB as our data storage.

So far the project is still in it’s initial phase, so you’ll have great opportunities to impact the actual architecture and development in the future.

You will help us build out the platform that future remote workers will use.

You will build new features, refactor and improve old code and connect different sites/platforms together.

You will primarily work on PHP back-end code, shell scripts, administering the NGINX server and manage scheduled workers with crontab (and in the future RabbitMQ). Secondary, you'll help draft designs of new features in CSS. The code is most important, but if you can also design as well, that's a great plus.

You will help maintain, update and secure the server, therefore having some DevOps experience is a great plus.

We don't use any frameworks, just plain code. It's a very big plus, if you understand conceptually why frameworks can be a bad idea for a large site/app and if you're able to write great code yourself without them.

Your colleagues may deride HTML/CSS & go out of their way to avoid sullying their hands with it, but not you. You realize it's one of the most expressive, versatile, freeing UI description formats to ever come around. And it's deployed everywhere. Plus - with a dash of brains, a few sane conventions, and good tooling - it's really not that bad all.

On the other hand, it really is that bad. There are a thousand things wrong with the standards, not to mention the absurd number of browser environment quirks. Annoyances which - tolerable individually - always hunt in packs. An axis of idiocy, drawn together by the singular goal of seeing your beloved computer ragehurled off the nearest cliff.

But that's OK, because you know at the end of the day HTML/CSS are just tools; love them or hate them. What you really do is breathe life into User Interfaces that millions of people use every day. You get the details right. You make computing enjoyable, an experience which is too often the opposite.

We have a ton of interesting work to do, and we're looking for someone to take full ownership of the front-front end of our application stack. If you care about building outstanding user interfaces and have mastered HTML/CSS & modern front-end tooling, that someone might be you.

You'll be hard-pressed to find a team that cares more about making great products, or an environment more amicable to this kind of work. Come focus on perfecting your craft in a place where the CEO cares as much about it as you do.

Applications:

The #1 thing we care about — almost to the exclusion of everything else — is work we can look at. Preferably lots of it, and preferably the source behind it (assuming you're using preprocessing tools, which you surely are).

We don't really care where you went to school, job title buzzwords, or any of that. This is a position where a portfolio speaks louder than any credentials.

  My company is called Custody X Change. I've been working on the business since 2004. We sell software that creates child custody schedules and parenting plans. Job Description

Provides technical support for all application delivery platforms including builds and continuous integration, routine application maintenance and upgrades, monitoring, troubleshooting and capacity planning, business continuity and disaster recovery.

The position is expected to spend approximately 50% time on Configuration Management, 30% on Java/HTML/CSS/SQL and/or test/script development and 20% on Linux System Administration. Duties may vary over time and project.

Purpose 

The DevOps Lead is primarily responsible for maintaining the application environments and configurations supporting reliable, secure and responsive application delivery and support to internal and external customers.

 The DevOps Lead is a mid-to-senior position that requires expertise and experience in the following areas: 

• Configuration Management, managing and documenting hardware and software configurations across development and production environments to reliably and securely deliver applications to internal and external customers, in audited transaction environments, including maintaining a SOC2 attestation and often collaborating with internal, customer, partner, vendor and contracted resources.  Build management and automation, assistance in troubleshooting build and automated testing failures.


• Java/HTML5/CSS/SQL/Web Services application operations and development.  Experience in Object Oriented development and web and application server administration support, including connections to other systems (e.g. web services, databases, monitors, etc.) is expected.


• Linux system administration in a Windows- and Macintosh-client networked environment on a hybrid cloud built around Amazon Web Services and internal servers using Virtual Private Cloud solutions.  This includes systems administration for patches, monitoring, disaster recovery, failover, security, etc. 

Job Responsibilities

Administration, maintenance and management of production and development environments, supporting Affiliation Management, Premium Capture, AAISdirect, AAISonline, SDMA, Hadoop, Pentaho, the AAIS Underwriting Platform (UP) and others as directed to meet service level agreements and audit (SOC2) requirements.

Tasks include:

• Software configuration management and the successful installation of new software releases and system upgrades.


• Evaluation and installation of patches, resolve software related problems on server platforms primarily hosted by Amazon Web Services.


• Implement security policies and configurations for hardware and software resources.


• Maintain network, server, application and transaction monitors with reporting and issue response protocols.


• Supports SSAE16 compliance for Customer Engagement systems.


• Maintenance and enhancements for Java/HTML5/CSS operational applications.


• SQL to extract data for reporting and business insights.


• Unit, integration and automated test development for quality assurance, build reliability and system performance.


• Maintenance and enhancement of continuous integration environment to support agile development process.


• Securing and protecting customer data and managing ongoing risk of compromise and intrusion.
