\nAbout Us:\nSaildrone designs and manufactures wind and solar powered autonomous surface vehicles called Saildrones, which make cost-effective ocean data collection possible at scale. We are working with governments, civic agencies, foundations, universities and private companies around the globe to drive better information about our oceans and seas - be it in mapping out the ocean floor, collecting new CO2 data in hard-to-reach areas, counting bio-mass to establish fishing quotas, or detecting and stopping illegal fishing and drug trafficking. We believe that better inputs in planetary models in turn yield better outputs and that the new insights gained in weather forecasting, carbon cycling, global fishing and climate change will have tremendous impact on humanity. This will involve software that commands and navigates drones remotely in real time, sensors and scientific payloads that gather data for clients, and camera-driven ML systems which identify ships and obstacles on the horizon. Youll work closely with all parties involved - managing engineers directly, conducting 1v1s and performance reviews, marshalling and tracking work for engineering teams through to completion each sprint. Youll also be coordinating with other managers to lay a course for future work and resourcing on a quarterly basis.\nRequirements:\n\n* You will be working closely with a highly technical software stack, so mastery of software engineering is essential. \n\n* Not merely tracking work, You will help the team make good software design decisions. Only candidates with proper permits to work in the United States can be considered.  Our waterfront office offers beautiful views of San Francisco Bay in always sunny Alameda. Even our walls have good karma, our offices mix software development with a hardware production line in the former airplane hangar used to film 'The Matrix'.\nBenefits:\n\n* Medical, dental and vision plans for you and your dependents\n\n* Active sailing classes: become a certified skipper on boats up to 35ft!  (once COVID safety allows)\n\n* Short and relaxing ferry ride from the Ferry Building for SF residents\n\n* Enhanced paternity / maternity programs\n\n* Competitive benefits including excellent medical, discounted gym, life insurance, 401k plan\n\n\n\nThis is an exciting opportunity with a fast-growing post series-B startup at the cutting-edge intersection of big data services and autonomous hardware. **Your responsibilities**\n\nWe’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to building our core product and help with ongoing maintenance.\n\n**Your qualifications**\n\n* **Ruby & Rails:** Extremely knowledgeable and proficient in both Ruby and Ruby on Rails. Our main application is a large and complex Ruby on Rails app and requires some deep knowledge to navigate efficiently. Given our small team size, we work with a monolithic application and only break off services when absolutely necessary to keep overhead low. We utilize rails views (ERB) when we can and use React when the UI calls for it. Note that we have a mini ruby project that we’d like to use to help in evaluating skill level.\n\n* **Javascript & React:** Solid understanding and ability to work in React with Redux. Some areas of our application involve complex React apps, backed by Redux state.\n\n* **Postgres & ActiveRecord:** History of working with Postgres and interfacing with Postgres through ActiveRecord. Being able to think about potential performance implications while working through projects is very helpful.\n\n* **Full Stack Focused:** We are a small team and our projects therefore involve working on both the frontend and backend feature set in parallel to complete projects. Having a generalist mentality is very helpful here.\n\n* **Testing:** Experience writing rspec tests as well as proven ability to be able to reason through what and when to test.\n\n* **Navigating & Internalizing Existing Codebases:** Proven history of jumping into existing, complex codebases and becoming productive. Independence and mindset is a key attribute here. While we anticipate there being a learning curve and assisting in that learning, the ability to just dive in and be able to figure things out independently is a huge help during the learning process.\n\n* **Debugging, Diagnosing & Investigating Issues:** A large part of the job includes investigating and diagnosing application bugs or customer issues. Proven ability to reason through these issues to diagnose problems, present some potential solutions, and convey these issues and solutions in a clear manner to our support team is important.\n\n* **Writing & Communication:** History of very explicit, clear, and detailed communication including pull requests, git commits, documentation, and general team interactions.\n\n* **GitHub:** Proficiency with Git, comfortable using GitHub as primary code and project management platform.\n\n* **Working Remotely:** Proficiency and experience with working remotely.\n\n* **English Proficiency:** Comfortable clearly and accurately presenting ideas and documenting work in writing (90% of work at Loomly happens asynchronously). \n\n#Salary\n$120,000 — $180,000\n\n\n#Location\n🌏 Worldwide

\nJob Description\n\n\n\nWhat we're looking for: \n\n\n* Passion for our mission and empathy for our members- building for members means learning about what they're going through. We'll send you resources about OCD is from a members perspective and how it's managed from a clinical perspective\n\n* High Agency and bias to action- We are still a small company and there's a lot of work to do. We trust everyone we hire and will provide them any support they need \n\n* Abundance and growth mindset- There is always more we can do to serve our members. We hope this will be one of the most rewarding professional experiences of your career. \n\n* Clear communication- Ideas are better when shared so we hope that you can share them with others in written form. \n\n* 5 + years of experience- You care about what you're building and have built significant production systems in the past. You are comfortable moving across the stack when necessary \n\n\n\n\nTools we use: \n\n\n* Web : NextJS / Typescript / Tailwind CSS / Netlify / React\n\n* Mobile : Swift / Flutter / Kotlin / Firebase\n\n* Backend : Python Flask / MySQL Aurora / Stripe + Paypal / Aptible / AWS\n\n* Data : FiveTran / GCP / BigQuery / Metabase / Google Sheets / Data Studio\n\n* Internal Tools : Retool / React Native / Google Sheets\n\n* Communication: Pen + Paper / Whiteboard /  Figma / Google Docs / Slack / Clickup \n\n\n\n\nThings you might do: \n\n\n* Build a modern clinical EHR - help us bring great user experiences to the clinical setting\n\n* Implement data pipelines on GCP as we work on research publications around our protocols\n\n* Work with internal support teams so they can offer the best experience to our members\n\n* Simplify Billing + Insurance - Many people have used Stripe (which we use) but we’re bringing insurance billing to the modern age as well\n\n* Lead a new product initiative- How can we help families be more involved in the treatment process for example \n\n\n\n\nWhat we Believe: \n\n\n* Outcomes for members come from Condition Specific Care: \n\n\n* Although offerings for behavioral health have increased in the past few years, we believe there is still a lack of focus on condition-specific disease states - and a one size fits all solution will not work. Just as you wouldn't see a general practitioner if you had a heart condition, there’s no single therapist who could treat the enormous diversity of behavioral health conditions (especially for severe conditions) from OCD, to PTSD, to BDD, to GAD, to Depression, to Panic, etc. We believe people get better only when care is focused specifically one condition at a time as treatment modalities differ condition by condition and person by person. Our focus is on OCD because of our founders experience overcoming OCD. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* Hire product minded individuals over pure technical excellence: \n\n\n* We think being able to work with members, operations teams, and design is more important than pure technical skill. Being able to understand the needs and experiences of a variety of stakeholders allows one to be more autonomous and build the right product sooner. Product engineers have ownership from end to end, from stakeholder research, ideation, to delivery. If you prefer purely task-oriented work it may be a challenging fit, but if you want end-to-end ownership we will support you at every step of the way to strengthen areas you'd like to improve in.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* Healthcare should be member first: \n\n\n* Everyone has experienced navigating a very difficult to use healthcare portal. Oftentimes healthcare technology was built first for providers or insurance organizations. This leaves members stuck to navigate complex product offerings and ux has been an afterthought for them. We believe the member should be brought back to the table and that we can only serve all three stakeholders well (members + insurers + providers) when we build software that is member first. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* Success is only possible because of the team: \n\n\n* Nothing we have done would have been possible without every single person on our team. I am proud to have served alongside a team that has done immense good in the world by showing what is possible when focusing on our members.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBenefits:\n\n\n* \n\nCasual, challenging, and engaging startup environment with an outstanding mission-driven team atmosphere\n\n\n* \n\nCompetitive compensation\n\n\n* \n\nComprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision coverage, and 401(k).\n\n\n* \n\nFlexible PTO policy\n\n\n* \n\nAwesome office on Michigan Avenue, ability to work remotely\n\n\n* \n\nOnsite amenities including a fitness center\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNOCD is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive, innovative environment with the best employees. Therefore, we provide employment opportunities without regard to age, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation, or any other protected status in accordance with applicable law.

**Radical candor? More like radical gander, right?**\n\nOk, enough goose puns for the moment, but now that we’ve got your attention, allow us to tell you more about this company called GooseChase and why might you want to join us!\n\nYou love an app that makes you smile, right? Well our product is a lot of fun. And even though our origins are that of a humble scavenger hunt app, we’ve now evolved (hatched?) into a super-flexible platform used by millions to create all sorts of experiences! It’s all the best parts of a scavenger hunt, with a delightful twist to keep you coming back for more.\n\nWith all that fun and flexibility, we’ve been growing like crazy. For teachers in the classroom, we’re the new “TV cart”, aka the learning tool that students legitimately look forward to. For today’s workplaces, virtual or otherwise, we help the team connect with each other to the point where they want to come into (or logon) to work. And for local cities and towns, we bring families together in a way that truly builds a sense of community.\n\nBut we’re also unique in that we don’t have any investors and, as a result, are able to put our people before profit. Seriously. We have a profit sharing program specifically for this reason! It also means we grow at the pace we want to and put the time into making this the best possible place to work. When we do something, it’s because it’s the best thing for our team and our customers, no matter what. We’ve actually been fully remote from the very beginning, because we wanted our people to have the flexibility to live wherever and however they wanted!\n\n**So what exactly is this job?**\n\nIf you’re looking for impact & ownership, this is about as good as it gets. You’ll have the opportunity to take lead on our back-end tech stack going forward, charting our technical path, contributing to our product direction and helping shape the team as we grow!\n\nFrom a day to day perspective, you’ll be a core member of our cross-functional product development team, focused on both the game organizer and participant experiences. Within our product team, there are no silos or artificial barriers, meaning you’ll be working closely with other engineers and designers! Whatever will help give our customers the best experience possible!\n\nWe recognize building the best products requires using the best tools, so we empower our engineers through access to the best tools and hardware available to remove barriers and enable fast iterating, robust code deployments.\n\nIn terms of technologies, you’ll be working closely with our front-end engineers as well as developing our API and async task system which:\n\n* Is currently based on Django / TastyPie / Celery, with plans to migrate to a Node.js-based architecture (that’s where you come in!)\n* Stores data in Postgresql, with images & videos in S3\n* Utilizes redis and memcached for caching, session storage, and async task result storage\n* Runs on Linode, switching over shortly to our new kubernetes-based cluster\n* Powers our mobile applications and web-based game manager\n\nLooking at how we work, our methodologies are:\n* Continuous integration using CircleCI to empower developer autonomy and shorten development cycles\n* Agile, with two week sprint cycles\n* Daily async check-ins - stay connected to the team, but without zombie standups\n* Project management in Asana, with our “office” taking place on Slack & Zoom - we have a very strong gif game\n\n**How do you know if this might be for you?**\n\nAt GooseChase you’ll be working alongside a team of highly motivated, world-class engineers with tons of opportunities for learning, growth, and mentorship. Our product team works closely together, so we are extremely selective about who we hire to ensure the calibre of our engineering talent remains high. Be prepared to bring your ‘A’ game!\n\nWe understand that relevant experience comes in all shapes and sizes and the ability to do the job is all that matters. With that in mind, we aren’t going to put together a generic list of all the requirements that we’re looking for with this job, however, there are certain things we are looking for - specifically:\n\n* Have you been able to collaborate & communicate successfully with others in a cross-functional team?\n* Do you have very high standards for your work and desire to work with other talented people?\n* Have you succeeded at architecting and implementing APIs that have been used by lots of people?\n* Are you passionate about full stack development and the web ecosystem?\n* Do you bring a depth of expertise in security and performance best practices?\n* Are you experienced in developing production-grade web systems that are performant and fault-tolerant at scale?\n* Are you based in the GMT-4 to GMT-8 time zones (North America), so you can work closely with our distributed product team?\n* Can you get down with an uncomfortable amount of goose puns?\n\nOk the last one isn’t super work related, but we honestly do have a lot of goose puns. It’s one of our favourite parts of our culture!\n\nWe do things differently here. We’re all about fun, but also making an impact. We care deeply about working with amazing people, and have set up our company culture specifically for that - our compensation is competitive, our work environment is autonomous and collaborative, and our emphasis is on learning and growth. Put simply, it’s the type of company we actually want to work at ourselves!\n\nSo, this is us, standing in front of you, asking you to join us. \n\n#Location\nNorth America

**Senior Ruby Engineer**\nReady to shape tomorrow?\nThis is somewhere where innovative thinking and the power of technology know no limits. We know that the success of the business depends on the people who keep it moving, which is why we are looking for exceptional talent to join our international payments revolution.\nWe’re bringing simplicity, transparency & scale to cross-border payments - a $120 trillion market.\n**About the role.**\nOur software engineers are responsible for implementing an industry-leading API that has already processed over $50 billion of cross-border transactions for over 5 million end users, and is available to our clients 24/7. But we’re not stopping there, and our engineers are at the forefront of taking us forward to meet the demands of even greater scale.\nFrom our monolithic datacenter beginnings we’ve moved wholesale to AWS where our system runs as a set of distributed applications. We’re currently in the process of migrating those applications over to Kubernetes and Jenkins-X as we further embrace a microservices architecture.\nAs a software engineer you’ll play a key role within your team; delivering new functionalities to the services your team provides, and taking responsibility for your services and the technology within them. Teams are aligned to services and you’ll have:\n* clear ownership of your domain\n* a clean modern codebase\n* an independent path to production\n* strong platform and product support\n* the ability to make real changes with real business value.\nOur microservices architecture enables us to explore new languages and technologies in parallel with our existing system.\nThe core of our system has been built using Ruby, leveraging backing services like RabbitMQ, Redis, and MySQL/Aurora, but we are keen to bring in engineers with more diverse backgrounds, and help us take Currencycloud to the next level of scale.\nWe are interested in Ruby developers, or people from any modern object oriented programming language that are willing to learn and code in Ruby.\nAs part of our TRUST team you will be building state of the art compliance systems that make our clients safe and ensure adherence to FCA standards across our business.\n**The Details**\nDay-to-day you’ll work with a variety of tools, technologies, capabilities and processes. * Highly-scalable, highly-available, cloud-native applications are key to our next phase of growth, are written to 12-factor principles and fit into our microservices architecture. * Cloud-related tools and services support these applications, such as Docker, Kubernetes, ElasticSearch, log management systems, and Datadog APM, to name but a few. * API specifications, conforming to the OpenAPI (Swagger) standard, provide a clean boundary both externally between our customers and our product, and internally between our microservices. * Object-oriented programming forms the bulk of our codebase, currently in Ruby and more recently in Java. We also have specialist applications written in a functional style using Scala and Elixir.\n* TRUST team’s tech stack includes RoR applications with RabbitMQ as a queue service, MySQL as an underlying database engine, and Elasticsearch as a search engine and aggregation tool. Our frontends are written in Vue.JS. All of that running on Kubernetes clusters. SQL, and large SQL databases, provide the persistence layer for our applications. You’ll be working with (and know the limitations of using) such large datastores. * Infrastructure automation is primarily owned by the infrastructure team, but you will be a consumer of their work, familiarity with AWS, Terraform and Docker is beneficial. * Testing approaches, including TDD, BDD and Contract Testing, all form an important part of our approach to quality assurance; ensuring that the code that we write forms products that are fit for use. We currently use RSpec and Cucumber. * Agile development, with teams broadly aligned with the Spotify - Squads & Tribes - model, helps us deliver incremental improvements to our products in an iterative manner. Advocating this model, and joining us on a journey of continuous improvement, is a key attribute of senior members of our teams.\n* Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines allow us to “automate all the things”, providing repeatable builds and consistent deployments.\n* GitHub, and the GitHub PR review process, forms a core part of our developer workflow, and peer reviews help share knowledge and improve quality. Teamwork, and cross-team collaboration, is fundamental to the delivery of our applications. Whilst each application has an independent path to production, there will always be some activities and initiatives that span multiple teams and require cross-team collaboration. Within your team you’ll need to collaborate with a number of stakeholders, including Product Owners and QA, as part of your product development.\nNone of these on their own are a must-have to apply for the role, but it would be useful to share with us any knowledge or experience that you have in these areas.\n**Anything extra to add?**\nAlong with a no dress code policy & flexible working arrangements we also provide all of our employees with a prepaid debit card each month to spend on Wellness, or a contribution to a gym membership.\nWe offer a comprehensive range of employee benefits which include 25 days paid leave, 5% pension, BUPA health insurance, life insurance, long term sickness protection, a day off for your birthday and socials every Friday.\nWe are a Remote First Company, post-pandemic we plan on still using our offices but are totally flexible on how often.\n**About Currencycloud**\nCurrencycloud is a global payments platform built on smart technology that takes the complexity out of moving money. Developers use our API building blocks to build customised payment solutions. Whether you want to embed our payments infrastructure into your products or services, or build on top of it, we’ll fit into your business in a way that works for you.\nWe take care of all the intricacies and regulatory hurdles involved with cross-border payments, giving you the tools to globalise your business.\nOur cloud-based platform removes that complexity from international transactions, giving you clarity and control over your business so you can focus on the things that matter: your customers. With enterprise-class solutions for clients and partners such as Visa and Starling Bank, Currencycloud understands your needs and can help with market-leading products.\n\n#Location\n🇪🇺 EU-only

\nWhat you will do\n\nAs a Software Engineer Machine Learning Operations (MLOps), your objective is to design, build and run our machine learning stack in such a way that we can easily scale up our analysis to many thousands of sensors/electric motors. Your key responsibilities are:\n\n* Move newly finished research of the data science team to production\n\n* Improve the stability and the reliability of our current pipeline\n\n\n\nYou will be working on daily basis with both data scientists and developers. It will be your task to review code from data science in the research repository that has already been approved by data science. This means that we already know that the functionality is useful and executes the correct logic. Now, you will have to think about how to schedule the code and put it into production. Also, you must think about the computational efficiency and robustness, meanign that where possible (in these areas) you make improvements to the existing code.\n\nYou will be monitoring the data flow, databases and other systems related to our data science pipeline, where you are again focused on robustness and efficiency. It is considered a big plus if you have (some) knowledge about machine learning, allowing you to understand what determines the accuracy of the data and our models. For us at Semiotic Labs, it is not only important that our algorithms run, but simulatenously process the right data and have a high accuracy - ultimately improving our reliability. \n\nYou will be part of the Software Engineering team, taking care of the various software engineering challenges associated with data science and machine learning. \n\nHow we work\nThe development team uses its own simple, practical, and functional methodology, allowing you to fully focus on software engineering without having to switch tasks. You will work based on the principle of freedom and responsibility.\nWe take pride in combining professionalism, trust, and very few meetings.\n\nThe development team\n\nThe software engineering team currently consists of 9 experienced developers working on a large architecture covering a wide domain, from signal processing on our edge devices through dashboarding for different user groups. Continuous improvement and daily deployments are at the heart of the high level of quality we deliver.\n\nCurious to learn about what it's like to join our team of developers?\n\nTech stack\n\nSince we work on cutting-edge technology, we use an up-to-date stack:\n\n\n* Python to orchestrate our infrastructure\n\n* AWS - we’re using a broad range of AWS services (20+).\n\n* Terraform\n\n* The team prefers to use Linux distributions for their development environments\n\n\n\n\nRequirements\n\nWho should apply?\n\nAs a Software Engineer Machine Learning you have a computer science background, at least 3 years of software development experience, and a good understanding of artificial intelligence/ machine learning and infrastructure. Next to this, you have:\n\n\n* \n\na good understanding of modern databases;\n\n\n* \n\nexperience with designing and running cloud infrastructure, including distributed systems and clusters;\n\n\n* \n\nknowledge of configuration management tools;\n\n\n* \n\nexperience with modern software development practices (e.g. continuous delivery).\n\n\n\n\n\nYour favorite stack\n\n\n* Python; to orchestrate our infrastructure\n\n\n* Sklearn\n\n* Tensorflow / Keras / Pytorch\n\n\n\n\n\n* AWS (or similar)\n\n\n\n\nIt’s a big plus if you have experience with\n\n\n* Terraform;\n\n* Docker, Kubernetes or ECS;\n\n* PostgreSQL;\n\n* Jenkins;\n\n* Git\n\n\n\n\n What we offer\n\n\n* A competitive salary \n\n* The chance to work on cutting-edge technology that affects industry worldwide\n\n* A fun and professional company culture based on the principle of freedom and responsibility\n\n* Daily fresh lunches and healthy snacks, as soon as we are back in the office (order your favorite soups or salads on our dedicated Slack lunch channel)\n\n* A growing scale-up led by experienced entrepreneurs and managers with a solid track record\n\n\n\n\nPlease note Semiotic Labs does not relocate candidates from outside the EU.\nWe will only hire people with an EU passport, have eligibility to work in, or are already highly skilled migrants in the Netherlands.
