The Ceros platform empowers designers and marketers to create and publish beautiful, interactive content experiences without the need for developers.

As part of the Ceros team, you’ll be working with a cross-functional group of talented Developers within the Product group. We hire only passionate and creative people with a proven and unquestionable ability to execute, and every member of the team is equally responsible for moving the product forward.

About the Product

Designing and building the Ceros platform is no easy task. We require the best-of-the-best web developers, designers, and QA testers, ready to bring the functionality of desktop software to the web, often pushing web browsers to the limits of what’s currently possible.

Our codebase is 95% JavaScript and the Ceros product is comprised of multiple single-page applications with a client-heavy focus. We use libraries like jQuery, Require, and Backbone. The Ceros Studio is architected around the HTML5 Canvas element.

We’re not language zealots. We believe in using the right tools for the job, and our current server-side infrastructure runs PHP, Node.js, Redis, MySQL, Chef, Grunt, etc. on the Amazon AWS cloud.

About the Job

As a DevOps Engineer be ready to hit the ground running. We’re looking for a seasoned engineer who is comfortable writing product code and has a passion for DevOps. You understand the pros and cons of various infrastructure technologies and are excited to scale the infrastructure of a rapidly growing startup.

  • Evaluating, testing and building new infrastructure tools and technology
  • Writing maintainable code (probably goes without saying)
  • Carrying out and being on the receiving end of code review sessions from your peers who hold your work (and their own) to the highest of standards
  • Working closely with the rest of the team to deploy new releases and data migrations without hiccup
  • And finally, ensuring the availability of the Ceros platfor

    What we offer:

  • You can work 100% remote- you’ll be communicating often through chat rooms, email, and video conferencing.
  • We offer flexible working hours and an extremely flexible vacation policy.
  • We provide excellent gear (Macbook Pro, iPad, external monitor, etc.).

    About Ceros

We have a dynamic company culture that collaborates daily. We care deeply about the user experience, and we debate passionately about our ideas. When you work at Ceros, you check your ego at the door, and you aren’t afraid to be honest, especially to yourself. We take our jobs seriously but ourselves not so much!

Our users work collaboratively in real-time on a browser-based digital canvas to create pixel-perfect experiences with rich animations and interactivity. The experiences they publish work consistently across all browsers and devices, and all customer engagement is tracked with extensive analytics. All without writing code.

    Reports to: VP of Engineering

    Next Steps

If you’re interested in being part of the Ceros team, please send your resume and a cover letter to us. We’re a company of passionate, honest, and sometimes silly people, so don’t be afraid to express yourself.

Sr. Platform Engineer - DevOps

Are you a Sr. DevOps Engineer obsessed with building high traffic Linux-based cloud infrastructure, mobile technologies and committed to automation? Still looking for a REAL DevOps Role? Then here is your chance to shape the direction of a company at the forefront of the mobile revolution!

Moovweb’s cloud-based platform delivers experiences optimized for any device. As the fastest-growing mobile solution, Moovweb allows companies to launch new experiences fast, iterate often, and deliver better mobile experiences. Headquartered in San Francisco, Moovweb powers experiences for market leaders including Nordstrom, Macy's, AIG, Kaiser, Fairmont, and Campbell's. Currently Moovweb powers over 200 mobile experiences, delivering to 60 million mobile users every month.

We’re looking for talented individuals ready to do the best work of their lives and solve hard problems at scale (hundreds of servers) in high-traffic PaaS/SaaS infrastructure. Working on our DevOps Team you will be bridging Dev and Ops to collaborate at the core of what makes Moovweb successful - the cloud platform that serves up over 6 billion mobile requests every month.

We work on a platform that was built for the cloud, from the cloud, and by people committed to automation like you. Along your journey spanning through Dev and Ops, you’ve spent at least 2-5 years mastering Unix Systems Administration (AWS/EC2) in a production environment with lots of traffic (hundreds of millions of page views). You have incredibly strong automation (Puppet) and scripting skills (Python/Perl). Programming (Ruby, C) is a walk in the park. You likely have experience with TCP/IP/HTTP protocols as well as backend technologies and common DevOps tools (Apache, MySQL, Nginx, Varnish, HAproxy, Nagios). But don’t get too hung up on the tech stack - we're not. Having experience with some of those technologies is great, but we are primarily interested in your intelligence and hire SMART people.

In addition to technical excellence, we value engineers that embody these qualities:

Passion. You feel ownership of everything you work on and do what it takes to get things right. You routinely go beyond what’s ‘normal’ for your role and push yourself to get better at what you do.

Flexibility. You’re ready to learn and iterate rapidly in terms of technology, product and process.

Fearless. You view challenges as opportunities, and embrace them. You learn from failures and move on.

Biased to Action. You jump into ambiguous issues and help define the path forward.

Zapier

Infrastructure Engineer

Zapier

devops

devops

2mo

Apply

About You

  • You are a hybrid software engineer. You can cross systems, DevOps, and application software boundaries. You have a history of shipping high-quality production code in Python. You are skilled working directly on the command line. You embrace automation and take pride in building internal tools to help your team be more efficient. You are not afraid to jump into application code to ship a new feature or infrastructure code to help scale a system.
  • You solve challenges involving scaling, reliability, high availability, data pipelines, micro-services, and more in your day-to-day work. You are comfortable building and scaling applications on one or more technologies that make up our AWS stack, including Python, Django, RabbitMQ, Zookeeper, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Redis, Memcache, Postgres, MySQL, Elasticsearch, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible and more.
  • You have experience working with databases. You are comfortable modeling database schemas and writing queries across a variety of data sources. You are able to work with data scientists to help understand what's happening in a production system and how to use it intelligently.
  • You have worked with teams before scaling large projects. You understand that automation plays a critical role in scaling. You have designed and implemented systems in a distributed manner and are comfortable scaling these systems across hundreds (and even thousands) of servers. You have no problem keeping systems like these running even while you sleep…because you've automated it.
  • You love doing things efficiently. At Zapier, the work you do will have a disproportionate impact on the business. We believe in systems and processes that let us scale our impact to be larger than ourselves.
  • You love learning. Engineering is an ever-evolving world. You enjoy playing with new tech and exploring areas that you might not have experience with yet.
  • You love to set your own direction. At Zapier, we have one team meeting each week and one-on-one meetings every month. Between those we chat in Slack and then go make things happen.
  • You are friendly and patient, welcoming, considerate, and respectful.

    Things You Might Do

Zapier is a startup, so you'll likely get an opportunity to be involved in a little bit of everything. That said, here are some things you'll get to lead:
  • Solve and implement scalability improvements to keep tasks running efficiently for millions of users
  • Implement systems to improve developer efficiency
  • Automate disaster recovery efforts, including introducing random "chaos" into the system to test and improve overall resiliency to failures
  • Build tooling to increase visibility into our running production systems, measure performance continuously, and act upon changes
  • Give back to the community via open source and blog posts
  • Experiment: this is a startup so everything can change as we experiment with doing more custom partnership work

    About Zapier

For the past five years, Zapier has been helping people across the world automate the boring and tedious parts of their job. We do that by helping everyone connect the web applications they already use.

We believe that there are jobs that a computer is best at doing and that there are jobs that a human is best at doing. We want to empower businesses everywhere to create processes and systems that let computers do what they are best at doing and let humans do what they are best at doing.

We believe that with the right tools, you can have 10X the impact with less work.

We believe in small teams. Small teams are fast and nimble. Small teams mean less bureaucracy and less management and more getting things done.

We believe that customer service is what makes great products. Everyone does support at Zapier because when everyone does support, everyone puts the customer at the center of their role.

We believe in simplicity in code.

    The Whole Package

    Location: Anywhere you want.

If you want to work remote, that's cool. If you want to work near others, that's cool too. The current Infrastructure team is in Illinois, Missouri, California, and India.

    Compensation:
  • Based on experience
  • Great healthcare + dental + vision coverage
  • 401k retirement plan with 4% company match
  • Profit sharing
  • 2-3 annual company retreats to awesome places
  • 14 weeks paid leave for new parents
  • Pick your own equipment. We'll set you up with whatever laptop + monitor combo you want plus any software you need.
  • Unlimited vacation policy (plus we insist you take at least 2 weeks off each year - this isn't a vague policy where unlimited vacation means no vacation).

Work with awesome companies around the world. We partner with the best software companies in the world and you'll constantly get to interact with people from these great companies.

    Set your own destiny.

15 years developing apps has taught us this: Build people, then products.

We’re aware that solid engineering practices and our love of Agile principles aren’t enough to ensure that we translate our clients’ dreams into software that shapes the world.

Our team of nearly 100 developers and designers are what make it possible.

They’ve rejected offers from Google and Twitter. They’re parents, travelers, or aspiring entrepreneurs. Some are in the planning stages of launching their own startups. Here’s what they have in common:

They’re all invested in becoming better together and we support their constant learning.

For more on how we do this, check out why.clevertech.biz. Some of the great things we do together are captured in cleverte.ch/bloomberg and visualcaptcha.net. We're also proud to be one of FlexJob's 100 Top Companies to Watch for Remote Jobs in 2016. The list goes on!

Fractured Atlas’s headquarters is in midtown Manhattan, so if you happen to be NYC-based and want to work from here, we’ll happily make room for you. The majority of our software development team is remote, though, so we need the kind of developer who thrives in that setup.

Security and DevOps Ninja in Training

If you need to be making an impact instead of just keeping the lights on, if you thrive on being constantly challenged, and if you soak up tech knowledge and certifications like a sponge, then read on…

At Cloud Quarterback we provide devops and security services and the security part of the business is expanding. As part of the company growth, we need someone who in the next year can do this:

  • Quickly learn and adapt to client systems and processes

  • Provide backend / 2nd level application and devops support to clients across the country

  • Write slick back end and automation code

  • Make servers and applications dance using configuration management and automation tools

  • Provide a friendly, outstanding client experience

  • Interface directly with clients in a co-operative and constructive way

  • Solve problems every day

  • Get involved in implementing security controls

  • Get involved in writing technical and security policy documents

  • Contribute ideas and feedback on new products and services

  • Be certified to at least one industry security certification

  • Implement technical solutions

While you could be anyone, we realistically need someone with a systems or programming / devops background who has a keen interest in all things relating to security and privacy. You’ll have to be able to do a few of those things day one, but not all of them. As an example this might be you:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Proven success in a client facing role such as sales, support, or customer service experience

  • Previously described as something similar to a “Tech Swiss Army Knife” by awestruck co-workers or friends

  • Excellent Google-Fu

  • Passion for security

  • You could be a bit of an introvert but still like to be sociable, you're definitely not a misanthrope, and you're positive and friendly by default.

  • You have the ability to work on projects with others and complete tasks solo when required

  • You like learning and getting things done way more than you like reading Reddit or watching cats dance

  • Highly flexible and adaptable

  • Comfortable with thinking laterally and prefer to either jump right in or read the barest amount of documentation to get started.

  • Working in consulting means chaos, you can adapt, respond, and negotiate with everyone - clients and coworkers alike - with a clear head

  • You probably know at least one programming or scripting language really well (eg. Powershell / Ruby / Python)

  • You wonder why most programmers can’t understand systems and why so many sysadmins can’t code

  • You’re operating system agnostic

We’re 100% remote workers and catch up in person twice a year (once at BlackHat), and encourage access to a local co-working environment in order to maximize your success. We also offer health insurance and retirement savings

You can be anywhere as long as you’re in the USA, although it would be preferable if you were on the West Coast or able to work a similar timezone to PST.

  • Help the team understand code failures, collaborate to provide a solution and offer advice on best practices for improving code so that it is robust when deployed in production.
  • Help maintain and troubleshoot the existing infrastructure of microservices (mostly Node.js, CouchDB), traditional applications (e.g., Java, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL) as well as legacy or other off-the-shelf/commercial applications, as required.
  • Work with the team to identify shortcomings in procedures, existing projects, and/or long-term objectives, and perform work in a way that would address immediate needs while targeting broader roadmaps.

  • 5+ years of experience with tools to support version control, build automation and automated testing (e.g., Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Selenium)
  • 2+ years of experience developing in one or more programming languages on a daily basis (e.g., Python, Ruby, JavaScript, Go)
  • Experience in modern automation tools and principles (e.g., Ansible)
  • Experience in Linux system administration in virtual machine environments
  • Experience developing and operating distributed applications in the cloud or cloud-emulating environments with features such as load balancing, autoscaling, rolling upgrades
  • Experience working with a remote distributed team, and working autonomously to complete tasks without close supervision
  • Experience working with non-infrastructure/operations developers, including advising them on how applications can be modified to make them easier to deploy, operate and monitor
  • Experience writing documentation, runbacks, etc., for operations and infrastructure
  • Experience using JIRA and Agile development methodology
  • Highly motivated and self-directed

About You

You are AWS certified and are equally comfortable with software development and system administration.

You know Chef, and have used Docker containers.

You know Ansible or similar technologies and are able to understand the complex concepts.

You are able to devise proactive solutions to project-related issues.

You're interested in creating MVPs and helping clients scale their ideas to profit / exit.

You can hold your own with a Google hangout with our US team, so your English is strong.

About Clevertech

About the Job

At Clevertech, we understand why it’s great to be part of the gig economy—we also understand some of the challenges it can present.

By offering ongoing, full-time roles, we eliminate the burnout and guesswork involved in being a contract worker. We’re also interested in making it possible for our team to focus on what they do best. Busy work that gets in the way of high-quality code is our worst enemy!

Here’s how it works:

* We work with quality clients who have brilliant ideas they want to scale, scale, scale :)
* Schedules are flexible—you work when you're in flow, from wherever you wish
* You focus on one client at a time; when you're finished with one, we provide another
* We use the latest tools and streamline every workflow imaginable
* Everyone on our team shares your culture, irrespective of where they are physically

About Us:

Every time you pay for an Uber ride or book on Airbnb, you’re using our product. Braintree lets you move money from one place to another safely and securely. Our payment gateways are complemented by a plethora of products and features to enhance merchant and consumer experiences. Think: marketplaces, security, recurring billing, contextual commerce, and more.

It sounds complex (and it is), but we make it so simple, you wouldn't know we were there.

At Braintree, opportunities to shine happen daily. We value what makes you different, and encourage you to act on your ideas -- no matter how pie-in-the-sky. You bring skills and a customer-first mentality, and we'll bring the tools and environment you need to do the best work of your life.

Check us out - Braintree on The Muse | LinkedIn | Glassdoor | Facebook |Twitter

Engineering Team Culture:

Our focus is teaming with smart engineers who are passionate about their craft and excited to build software for unique solutions in the space.

We are polyglots: We believe in using the best tech stack for the job. We’ve written scripts in python, payment gateways in java, and AWS for cloud services.

We pair program: We work on Macbook Pros with two keyboards and dual 27' cinema displays. We work in an open team room; no cubicles or private offices. Communication is key to our process, and we don't want to hinder it with walls.

We are Agile: development methodologies mean different things to different people. For us? We have a story card wall and release a few times a week. We keep the team in sync with daily stand-ups and have a retrospective once a month to discuss things that are going well and opportunities for improvements.

Types of projects we work on:

We’re working on the next generation platform for payments. We’re charting new ground for Braintree by putting meaningful workloads in the cloud. Our goal is to onboard all of Braintree’s infrastructure onto this new platform, which means your customers will be all product engineers at Braintree.

What we look for in you:

Ability and desire to work in our collaborative environment: open team room, pair programming and fluid interactions with all products and operations teams

Focusing on building solutions utilizing an agile approach: close relationships with Product Managers, communicating and digesting real time feedback, and working smart to build story cards on daily basis

Experience owning infrastructure in production, as well as designing and creating build/deploy & monitoring systems

Familiarity with managing cloud environments - AWS or other public cloud experience (Azure, Compute, Rackspace Cloud, etc)

Scripting experience with Python or any modern language

Specific experience with Cassandra, Kafka, and Docker a plus

We know there are endless tools in the devops tool box and we don’t expect you to come in as an expert on everything. You will be learning a lot as you’re exposed to new tools, technologies, and 3rd party docs here.

Braintree Perks:

Open Dev Day: two days a month our engineers work on projects that interest them to improve their craft

Product conferences: attend two conferences … all on the Braintree dime

Daily catered lunches: salad bar and entree buffet. Yum!

Tuition reimbursement: we take education and skills development seriously

Tracking Free Vacation: employees self track their vacation to ensure you get the time off you need

The Role

Can you help us automate our infrastructure and help us build our first SaaS product?

We like to build stuff… sometimes complicated stuff… for Non Profits, Charities and Art Galleries. We’re on the lookout for a confident and ambitious Devops / Sysadmin to join our fast growing startup to help us automate our development processes and build our first SaaS product.

We do things a little differently, basing all our solutions on open source products offer a great work-life balance with flexible working hours and a real team mentality.

Our work covers web design, app development and branding for Charities and non-profit organisations across the country. Our clients include Charities such as Wikimedia and Farm Africa, art galleries such as the Photographers Gallery and Craft Central but also companies, trade associations and government bodies. We mainly work on the Drupal platform, but someone with a wide range of interests would be favourable.

We are looking for someone to join the team with the vision to help us automate our infrastructure so that everything runs like clockwork. That will involve:

  • Automating tasks such as security and deployment releases, site updates and server maintenance using tools such as Jenkins, Chef, Puppet, Ansible etc
  • Be the key architect in helping us to develop a robust SaaS platform for a really significant Drupal project for the not for profit sector that we are currently working on.
  • Integrating with Hipchat and developing an inhouse Hubot (or similar).
  • Develop command line tools to simplify developer tasks such as cloning client sites to local environments.
  • There will also be the opportunity to get involved with data migration, data integration, database tuning and management and the ideal candidate would have existing MySQL (or similar) experience.

If you live and breath Linux and love reconfiguring Web servers for the LEMP/LAMP stack until they are as secure as a rock but would also enjoy the challenge of developing a new SaaS platform on AWS then we would love to hear from you.

    Skills & Requirements

Key skills we are looking for:

  • Excellent Linux administration skills.
  • Some Web server experience (NGINX preferable, Apache useful).
  • Some DB admin experience (Mysql or equivalent).
  • Some experience with cloud technologies AWS/Open stack.
  • Previous experience with CI/DevOps tools platforms (i.e. Jenkins, Chef, Puppet, Ansible).
  • Good Git skills (comfortable preparing release branches).
  • Previous PHP deployment automation desirable.
  • Some experience/Knowledge in monitoring tools.
  • Strong collaboration, written and verbal skills.

What were looking for is someone who can grasp concepts quickly, has great attention to detail, and most importantly loves a tech challenge. In short, we’re a team of self confessed geeks who love tinkering and tweaking until something is just right and are looking for someone who thinks and acts like us.

Our customer base is growing quickly, and we want your combination of tech and people skills to help our customers solve problems and get the most out of their databases at Compose. We operate a fleet of various databases, so there’s something for everyone: MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, RethinkDB, and likely many more!

If you are a developer, DevOps/SRE magician, or database junkie and know how to help developers with technical questions, we want to talk to you. You will be most effective if you have an inquisitive nature, love to learn, and can read and tweak source code written in a variety of languages. We’re not just looking to fight fires, we’re looking to prevent them. We pride ourselves in providing top-notch support and guidance, so being able to communicate effectively with empathy and compassion is a must.

This is the perfect position for a smart hacker who wants to gain experience within a great team focused on building a powerful and customer-focused database-as-a-service product. Spending time with our customers and product will let you improve your tech chops vastly, and should be solid preparation for a high-end distributed systems engineering position (we need those too, so if you start on support and do a great job, there is a huge amount of room for growth).

We're a distributed team and we work across many different time zones. If you're a night owl, an early riser, or somewhere in between, we're happy to accommodate untraditional work schedules -- our worldwide customers often need help at odd hours!

Technical bits we hope you're good at (or can become good at):

  • Databases: We provide production-grade databases to our customers. Hopefully you've navigated a few, even if it was Visual FoxPro.
  • Linux: You'll want to know vmstat from sysstat and iftop from iotop. You should be comfortable with a text editor (vi, emacs, nano, makes no difference) and be able to grep | sed | awk your way through a mess of log files.
  • A language: They're not just for humans anymore! Ruby, Go, Python, JavaScript, Haskell... chicken!? Whatever works. We interface with developers every day, and the support team itself is a team of devops, system engineer, and developers. You'll be happiest if you can poke through someone else's code, and maybe hack out a little bit of your own.
  • Communication: You should like to communicate with people. Human-focused communication of technical things - it's a delicate balance!
  • Creative Problem-Solving: You'll face a wide range of weird, wild problems.

We're excited to see what sort of character will wind up in this role... a few helpful traits include:

  • Patience: You'll deal with many crisis-like situations. Being able to stay cool under fire is essential.
  • Comfortability Working with a Remote Team: At Compose, everyone is remote from someone. Engineers, designers, support, developers... the vast majority of us work from home. You'll be engaging with your entire team in Slack, email, ScreenHero, BlueJeans, and whatever else works (including correspondence chess on postcards).
  • Self Starter: We're an organization filled with people who self-manage. You get the respect and responsibility to operate with minimal supervision and management.
  • Accepting: Freedom to fail! Things won't always work out how you plan them to. This is a fun role and should feel that way.

About You
You are AWS certified and are equally comfortable with software development and system administration.

  • We work with quality clients who have brilliant ideas they want to scale, scale, scale :)
  • Schedules are flexible—you work when you're in flow, from wherever you wish
  • You focus on one client at a time; when you're finished with one, we provide another
  • We use the latest tools and streamline every workflow imaginable
  • Everyone on our team shares your culture, irrespective of where they are physically

About Us

We are an online education startup that works with universities and institutions from around the globe to provide a world-class education in the fields of art and creative technology to anyone, anywhere in the world. • https://www.class-central.com/report/kadenze/

    What we’re looking for

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our small but talented web team in order to build up and scale out the infrastructure for our application. We are flexible on location and are open to a remote developer as long as you are a strong communicator and have proven experience working remotely. The definition of “DevOps” is somewhat controversial, but we prefer the one from http://theagileadmin.com/what-is-devops/: System administrators participating in the product development process alongside developers and using a many of the same techniques for their systems work.

Our ideal candidate is an savvy sysadmin with experience working in an agile environment. You’d be coming in near the ground floor so this also has strong potential to evolve into a leadership position as the company and infrastructure continue to grow.

Of course, we’ll want you to have some experience with our current technology stack:

  • Amazon AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, AutoScaling, Cloudfront, Transcoder, IAM, etc)
  • Ubuntu Linux
  • PostgreSQL
  • Nginx
  • Fusion Passenger
  • Chef
  • Capistrano
  • Ruby on Rails 4

And we’ll need you to be good at some or all of the following:

  • Frequent and clear communication
  • Quickly identifying and responding to infrastructure failures.
  • Analyzing hardware requirements based on app performance and estimated user load scenarios
  • Automating setup and deployment of application infrastructure
  • Configuring and tweaking web and application servers
  • Database clustering and replication setup
  • Server monitoring and threshold alerts
  • Common security concerns and mitigation strategies

Bonus points for any of these items:

  • Ruby on Rails development experience
  • Experience with automated load and performance testing
  • Experience setting up a continuous integration style deployment process

    What you’ll be doing

You will be the primary person responsible for deployment and management of the application infrastructure for a startup with potential for rapid growth. As the resident expert on best practices and trends, you will have a very strong input on infrastructure related decisions across our product line. Primarily, you will be responsible for estimating, provisioning, automating, and monitoring the infrastructure for our applications. As part of this process, you will need to develop potential load and failure scenarios along with mitigation and response strategies. Why you should join us

We enjoy working hard in a laid back, politics and drama free atmosphere in an office where you’ll find frequent discussions about topics from digital music generation and analysis to visual processing and machine learning. Almost everybody at the company has music, artistic, or hobby projects that they work on on the side, so we all value our time away from the office. We want you to be passionate and believe in what we are doing, but we also know that life is too full to spend it all at work. That said, we don’t fear the occasional late night or hard push to get ready for a demo, but strive to hone in our planning to prevent such occurrences from happening frequently.

The Opportunity

At Litmus we build cutting edge tools to help email marketers. We're used by over 100,000 email marketers all around the world and have partnerships with the best in the industry including MailChimp, Campaign Monitor, Experian and more.

We’re bootstrapped, profitable and proud. You’ll be working with our team of developers and operations engineers building cool stuff, with amazing people.

As our environment grows, we're looking for a sysadmin to manage the day to day running of our infrastructure.

You have:

  • Natural troubleshooting skills: comfortable investigating any problem, knowing when to ask for help
  • Strong analytical skills: identifying and predicting problems, collecting data to support your conclusions
  • Solid knowledge of Windows and TCP/IP networking
  • Experience running a production environment on AWS
  • Experience with Active Directory design and implementation
  • A level of comfort with Linux
  • Decent PowerShell chops

It would be helpful, but not essential, to have a familiarity with Ansible, C# .NET, and/or Ruby

    You would:

  • Interface with hosting provider(s)
  • Monitor servers and services, ensuring they are fault tolerant and up-to-date, including log reporting & visualization, applying OS upgrades, security patches
  • Managing our configuration automation and server deployment (Ansible)
  • Tune production environment performance (.NET, IIS, Redis, MySQL).
  • Recommend and apply best practices where sensible
  • Manage SSL certificates, domain renewals, DNS changes, firewall / iptable updates, MySQL database maintenance (users, privileges)
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation for the infrastructure with the engineering team

    Why should I choose Litmus?

We offer everything you'd expect from a successful and profitable startup, except we've been going strong for eight years.

  • Great salary, comprehensive health care benefits, 28 days paid vacation (yes, on top of public holidays!)
  • The technology - it's always the latest stuff and very diverse
  • The best tools money can buy. Every sysadmin has gets the equipment they need to be awesome
  • When in town, our office space is amazing. It includes killer views of MIT, Harvard and Boston, an Xbox with Kinect, beer fridge and Sonos sound system. We also provide a catered lunch.
  • If you're remote, we'll fly you out to Boston regularly and you can stay in our wonderfully furnished company apartment.

Here’s what some of our crew have to say about Litmus:

“Everyone. Gives. A. Shit. (about the tech, the products, the customers, each other). Trust and ownership are important here. We build products that scratch our own itch. We experiment, we celebrate (big things (like throwing a launch party), and small (beers at the end of the week)). Oh, and there’s no red tape, bullshit posturing, timecards or org charts!”

    Eddie, Lead Ruby Developer

“Aside from software architecture and syntax, there hasn’t been a task that I have begun that I have known how to do. It is a constant learning experience and we often times find ourselves building things that have never been built before.”

    Justin, C# Developer

“We’re in charge of our own future and aren’t beholden by a board, investors or anyone else. I feel like the people I work for care more for our customers and their employees than most other companies do.”

    Justine, Marketing

“Super cool office! – Our office is amazing and we do a lot of cool things here. Kinect + beer fridays + fun :) It’s also easy to get to and a great location.”

    Danielle, Support Manager

“The founders are in the thick of it. Also, the collective responsibility, I feel like I could rely on any team member for help.“

    James, Account Manager

If you live near Cambridge then we’d love to welcome you to the office, if you want to relocate to beautiful Boston then that’s wonderful as well (provided you can already legally work in the USA). If you don’t live nearby then that’s ok too. We already have remote members of the team and are happy to speak to great folks wherever they are in the world.

    We don't work with recruiters.

About Clevertech

  • We work with quality clients who have brilliant ideas they want to scale, scale, scale :)
  • Schedules are flexible—you work when you're in flow, from wherever you wish
  • You focus on one client at a time; when you're finished with one, we provide another
  • We use the latest tools and streamline every workflow imaginable
  • Everyone on our team shares your culture, irrespective of where they are physically
