Revl is seeking an experienced backend software generalist. We're looking for someone who knows algorithms, a few different languages, distributed systems, REST servers, Linux configuration, and maybe even some machine learning. If you want to be designing novel algorithms in C++ one day, writing Kotlin server code to expose your new algorithm as a REST endpoint the next, and then configuring the production deployment the day after that, then this is the opportunity for you!

Revl makes auto-editing software and smart action cameras. Our customers are sky diving operations, big auto industry players, and zip line operators. What they all have in common is that they want to use our cameras to capture their client's experiences and then use our software to automatically turn all that footage into a great final edited video that they can sell to their customers. Our auto editing software is fast: a final rendered video is ready less than two minutes after the client has completed the experience! You can see our complete system in action here: https://youtu.be/8RmMQafi9Us.

We are well funded by several reputable VC's and Angel Investors including Y Combinator, Comcast Ventures, Frog Design Ventures, Luma Pictures, Bill Tai, and Lars Rasmussen. We offer competitive salary, early equity, and health insurance.

We are a distributed software team so you can be located anywhere in the USA. Our main office is a beautiful, commuter friendly space in SoMa San Francisco, where we also offer daily catered lunches for all local employees.

• It is a must to hold a University degree in Engineering or Computing Sciences, or having completed at least 80%.
•  If you know Python or Go ... excellent! But what we are really looking for is a top programmer who loves technology and software development, and ready to learn any programming language that could be required.
• You have to feel comfortable working with databases (SQL and NoSQL), web programming (HTML5, CSS3, Javascript) and Linux environments.
• Good programming best-practices, such continuous integration, unit testing generation, code repositories, log management, code comments and documentation ...
• You will need to meet with the business to understand the needs and to translate them into code.
• You will be part of an agile team, so, what is really important in Roiback is the team success, not the individual success.

Smartbnb is a bootstrapped company whose core product currently helps short-term rental businesses manage and automate over 60,000 properties. We are a growing team of 6 people with plans to expand rapidly by the end of 2018.

With multiple new product launches on the horizon and several more planned before the end of the year, you will be joining the company at a time of explosive growth. Your presence will have a very real impact on the company’s value.

We are looking for a **Backend Web Developer** to join our tech team’s efforts to **supercharge our PHP web application**. You will be working directly with Pierre-Camille, our founder, who developed the original product from scratch, as well as with all members of the tech, marketing, and success teams.

Our company is fully distributed and remote. We believe and fully embrace that your best environment is wherever you - personally - feel the most productive and comfortable for day-to-day work. Nevertheless, we organise frequent meetups and retreats for the team to physically meet throughout the year. The last two trips were to Lisbon/Cascais and Paris!

**⭐️ What you will do: ⭐️**

• You will be an **architect**: planning structural masterpieces, laying foundations, building pillars, and reinforcing walls. Maybe a statue here and there...

• You will be **in charge of drastically improving** multiple features for our web app, helping to developing new product lines, as well as improving and maintaining the quality of the entire codebase.

• You will be **a leader in performance** (logic optimisation, indexes, queries, caching), **security** (discovering and plugging vulnerabilities), and **code health** (refactoring, unit and integration testing).

• You will **take charge of your own work** and proactively suggest improvements across the whole backend.

• In a remote environment you will be **responsible for your own time and results** – there will be no babysitting.

**✅ What you will need to succeed: ✅**

• **Nutcracker**: you love solving engineering problems.

• **Independent**: you are self-motivated, take initiative, and are a strong communicator. You are results-driven and willing to learn and improve yourself.

• **Technical Ninja**: proficiency with PHP 7.0+, Laravel 5.2+, MySQL, Git, beanstalkd, and Memcached and/or Redis, backed by 5+ years of Backend development experience.

• **Design Pattern Jedi**: great knowledge of and direct experience with multiple design patterns. You have written superbly abstracted code and accompanying unit tests from scratch. You have also refactored legacy, non-testable code into something less apocalyptic.

• **Caring Developer**: you recognise that your code and work impact not only the customers but also the rest of the team. You conduct yourself with professionalism and respect not only in meetings but also in how you structure your code and in the documentation that you write.

• **Superb English fluency**: we are an international team and clear communication is vital. It goes without saying (but we’ll say it anyway) that you absolutely must have the ability to participate in frequent video meetings.

• The product team is based in Europe, so at the moment we are looking for developers who are based within the same general time zones (UTC±3).

**🍰 Brownie points: 🍰**

• You have experience with Continuous Integration using Travis, Circle, Gitlab, or Bitbucket.

• Interactive Git rebasing doesn’t sound like voodoo to you.

• You’ve used 🐬🤯🔥in Git commit messages.

• You have experience with Machine Learning either with off-the-shelf tools like Dialog Flow or - better yet - more low level using tools and platforms like Theano, Torch, and Google/AWS/Microsoft/IBM ML stacks.

• You’ve built a Node.JS backend or API.

• You see past the glossy veneer of the ‘microservices’ buzzword and know when and how to build them.

**(Let us know how many 🍰 you deserve.)**

**🎉 What we offer: 🎉**

• Competitive salary, including the possibility of stock options.

• Ample paid leave, in addition to maternity and paternity leave.

• A great support structure: we are here for you.

• Flexible contract. You will work independently where you are most productive and happiest, with flexible weekday hours.

• All the resources and tools that you need to succeed

• Join a fast-growing startup and be part of the force that shapes the company in the years to come!

We are solving global short-term rental automation. **Are you in?**

MONEY @ HEETCH

The Money Team works behind the scenes to ensure a smooth experience for everyone involved in payment transactions. We are responsible for the proper handling of millions of euros across thousands of daily rides , and everyone is counting on us to deliver reliably and efficiently.

We work hand in hand with the Data, Product and Operations teams to improve our product while protecting our bankrolls and maintaining compliance and cleanliness in our accounting records:

* Numbers, numbers everywhere.

* We help users manage their payment methods and coupons, a crucial part of the passenger onboarding experience.

* We make sure drivers get paid on time for their work by providing them with a seamless experience so they don’t have to worry about their money.

WHAT WE DO

Take part in the design and specifications of new features and products. A new form to help the marketing teams launch their campaign in every bar in a new city? Check. Improve our fraud detection models to fight card testers that got their hands on thousands of stolen credit cards? Sure!

Use state of the art tools and best practices to ship code quickly and safely (continuous integration, code review, automated testing, etc). The daily job of the money team is to write Ruby and Elixir microservices that communicate via HTTP, RabbitMQ and gRPC, deployed using Docker on a Mesos/Marathon cluster.

Communicate with each other. We are a remote-first team and company, working from our home or our Parisian office. We synchronize whenever needed (discussions around specs, pair programming, code reviews) so no-one is left alone.

Always improve. Everyone makes mistakes, and we all can learn from each other. We value personal progress and want you to look back proudly on what you’ve done.

REQUIREMENTS

* 5+ years as a backend engineer.

* Eager to learn Elixir.

* Exposure to the architectural patterns of a large, high-scale application. You understand the pros and cons of microservices, and embrace event-driven programming.

* You are used to dealing with complex business logic and ambiguous edge cases.

* Prior knowledge of Ruby or Elixir.

* Experience with message brokers(such as Kafka, RabbitMQ) and event-driven architectures

PERKS

* Stocks.

* Paid conference attendance/travel.

* Heetch credits.

* A Spotify subscription.

* Medical care.

* Code retreats and company retreats.

* Travel budget (visit your remote coworkers and our offices).

At Olo we develop an online food ordering platform used by many of the country’s largest restaurant chains, reaching millions of consumers. Chances are if you’ve ordered directly from a restaurant brand’s app or website, we’ve made that happen. Mobile ordering and payments is an exciting and active industry full of interesting players and yet still a relatively untapped market ripe for disruption. We’re quite up-front about the technical challenges our business faces. Running a platform with multiple white-labeled front-ends, that maintains real-time connections into thousands of restaurants’ POS systems, and coordinates complex transactions between these and other third parties (such as payment gateways and gift card providers) is not for the faint of heart!

We take pride in a neat codebase with automated tests and continuous integration, and encourage constant refactoring. We encourage new ideas and experimentation. No part of the code base is off limits.

Olo is revolutionizing the customer experience at these restaurant chains, and we're looking for talented engineers to join our team and help achieve this vision. As part of the team you will play a significant and visible role in helping us scale one of the most advanced food ordering platforms in the market. You will design, develop, scale, and monitor solutions, improvements, and services in our core ordering platform. While primarily focused on our back-end, the position requires contributions throughout our stack.

You'll work with a smart, passionate team dedicated to delivering amazing products using modern tools and technologies such as .NET 4.6, ASP.NET MVC 5, TeamCity, GitHub, Octopus Deploy, and heavy use of OSS.

Any engineer may work at Olo’s headquarters in New York City’s Financial District or remotely from anywhere in the U.S. In fact, more than half of our engineering team is remote!

Requirements

* A passion for computing that extends beyond work

* At least 3 years on-the-job development experience at a senior technical level

* A drive to automate anything that has to be done more than once

* Excellent knowledge of C#, .NET and object oriented concepts

* Adept at writing unit tests and testable code, and working under distributed version control (preferably Git)

* In-depth understanding of Windows, SQL Server and networking concepts

* Hands-on experience instrumenting, deploying and monitoring production code

* Excellent English writing and communication skills

* Legal right to work in the U.S.

Beneficial

* B.S degree or equivalent education

* Experience developing for highly available and horizontally scalable platforms

* Experience with any of: Redis, distributed messaging systems, Amazon Web Services, F#

* A background in restaurant or e-commerce technology, including point of sale systems, payment gateways, and CRM and loyalty platforms

* Working knowledge of ASP.NET MVC, JavaScript, HTML5/CSS

Concrete Platform – Back-End Node.js Engineer

Location Farringdon London

Salary £65k-£70k

Benefits - We have a healthcare scheme, 25 days’ holiday and a flexible 2-day/week work-from-home policy.

The Role Concrete are looking to accelerate the delivery of our product feature roadmap for our new SaaS-based platform. To make these goals a reality we are expanding our engineering team, providing greater resources to reduce development times and enabling more projects to be worked on simultaneously.

The scrum team are responsible for building, testing and deploying all new back-end features to a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipeline, working predominantly in Node.js and ES6+ whilst utilising a range of modern tools including Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services and MongoDB. As work begins to ramp up, we are looking for an experienced Back-End Engineer to join our team and work closely with the Senior Engineers to ensure new features are completed at a consistent pace.

By providing an Agile induction we’ll get you up to speed very quickly and you’ll be actively involved in projects in no time, participating in team Scrum meetings and following a two-week release cycle within a Kanban work-management system.

Working as a Back-End Engineer you will be actively building APIs using Node.js with Express.js as a framework. Day-to-day, Node, Express and ES6+ (JavaScript) will be your bread and butter letting you take full advantage of the latest features and industry practices to create new Greenfield services, ensuring that our platform remains both scalable and future-proof.

Supporting your daily work, you will utilise a diverse range of tools and services from the cutting edge of industry adoption. Using non-relational databases such as MongoDB, you will build queries and create tables, whilst using Kubernetes and Docker when deploying your code to Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Quality is important to us, so you will take responsibility for the tech debt that you create: testing your own code and taking part in code reviews form a core part of the role. We currently use Jest for testing purpose and have a rigorous peer review process, helping to ensure that the code you create is always the highest quality possible. Once your code is signed off, you will merge it into the master branch, triggering, testing and orchestrating deployment into the Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipeline.

As a company, we believe in fostering a supportive environment when you need it, but otherwise take a hands-off approach, giving you autonomy over your work. There’s already a great senior team in place, that is always happy to lend a hand. There may be times when you will work in a paired-programming environment alongside another engineer, but for the most part you will work independently from the user stories and materials provided.

What we need from you You will, first and foremost, have a proven track-record in a Back-End Engineering role, working in an Agile product environment. We don’t mind whether you’ve worked as a web developer using open source tech or as a Java/C# engineer, so long as you’re excited by the prospect of moving to a JavaScript focused role moving forward.

The ability to write native JavaScript is crucial to the role, including a solid technical understanding of asynchronous programming in ES6+, enabling you to discuss how promises function and, ideally, how to use them in relation to the ‘async’ and ‘await’ functions.

You will have experience working independently, building APIs and features from scratch and generally working on the API-layer, including integrating APIs into pre-existing systems. Your level of knowledge should be sufficient to walk us through the lifecycle of a RESTful request, drawing on your own experiences and starting from the HTTP request all the way to testing end-points.

We work with MongoDB, but you don’t need direct experience. You should be able to explain why NoSQL databases would be used instead of relational databases (e.g. MongoDB/Couchbase instead of MySQL/PostgreSQL/SQL Server) We want someone who understands the fundamentals and is interested in learning more.

The ability to self-test your code will be critical to the role, so you should have a firm understanding of the benefits that this strategy brings. Your experience with testing tools (e.g. Jest, Jasmine, Mocha, JUnit, or even PHPUnit) will have left you with a strong understanding of why unit testing is important.

On top of that, you’ll also relish code reviews and recognise them as a feedback mechanism that helps both you and your team to improve.

We’ll expect you to have some knowledge of a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) setup, including awareness of Docker and a basic understanding of DevOps skills.

We work in a collaborative environment and you will “Be Part of a Great Team”, so you should enjoy working closely with other team members. In particular, you must be happy to work paired with another engineer and should be able to discuss how this strategy can benefit your productivity, skills development and the integrity of the wider project itself.

Finally, at Concrete we love what we do and expect you to be fascinated by every element of your job. You will be passionate about the front-end sector, getting stuck in to technical conversations whenever possible and will always be eager to provide your opinion, viewing challenges as a learning opportunity rather than a roadblock.

What you’ll get from us A supportive and flexible learning environment, including great opportunities to gain new skills – or hone existing ones – with technologies that are rapidly becoming industry standards, particularly Node.js and the latest features of ES6 (JavaScript). You will be up-skilled as a priority with the aim to make you a truly full-stack engineer, including learning React and Redux on the front-end. We’re happy to adjust to your interests and strengths, so if you want to learn more about the front-end, Minimum Viable Products, Node.js or anything else, we’ll support you to develop those abilities, leaving you with a truly desirable skillset – after all, we believe you should always “Stay Hungry”!

By working closely with our DevOps teams, you will gain a strong understanding of the DevOps mindset, alongside hands-on experience using Amazon Web Services (AWS), Kubernetes and Docker. These skills will give you a great overview of the processes and methods required to work in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipeline, with the potential to transition into a DevOps focused role if that is desirable.

As the team scales to support further platforms, services and projects coming from our pipeline, there will be a real opportunity for driven individuals to take on more senior positions within the department, including transitioning into Technical Lead or Lead Engineer roles.

There will be regular opportunities to work on large Greenfield projects with a genuinely global reach. We have a busy project pipeline so there will be plenty of possibilities for you to really make a mark on the direction of our platforms and services, whilst gaining exposure to a wide variety of areas of the business.

We’ll trust and support you to truly take ownership of your work, providing real autonomy on the projects you work on. We’ve got your back if necessary, but you’ll be entrusted to get stuck in and put your skills, and vision, to work. We truly believe that brilliant products are built by teams that work brilliantly together; but brilliant teams can only be built with brilliant people!

Millions of people experience real-life adventures with our apps. We help users all over the world discover the best hiking and biking routes, working to empower everybody to explore more of the great outdoors. And we’re good at what we do: Google and Apple have listed us as one of their Apps of the Year numerous times—and we are consistently ranked amongst the highest-grossing apps in both Google Play and the App Store.

One key driving factor to our growth has always been our understanding that a technological approach can provide an outdoor experience far beyond the possibilities of traditional services. On the one side, we collect, combine and process various open data sources (such as OSM and Wikipedia) and turn raw data into easily accessible information and understandable products, such as our easy-to-use outdoor route planner. On the other, we leverage the wisdom of our vast user base and use crowdsourced data for personalized, local outdoor recommendations. Now, with your strong analytical skills and your passion for building well-crafted and tested code, we’ll leave traditional, standard solutions even further behind—and we’ll truly change the way people explore.

**Your key responsibilities**

- Implement new features closely together with our web and mobile developers, designers, copywriters and product managers.
- Develop and tune algorithms to leverage our content recommendation, rankings, content analyses and product smartness.
- Build new and improve existing micro-services, primarily in Java/Kotlin and Python.
- Use the AWS ecosystem to build resilient and high-performing systems.

**Why you will love it**

- You’ll work on a global product that inspires millions of users.
- You’ll get system access on your first day, as we know you are a smart and responsible engineer.
- You’ll take ownership over your projects from day one (from concept to implementation; testing, deployment and monitoring).
- Your challenging tasks will keep improving your skills and keep you up-to-date with the latest technologies.
- We have a wide range of diverse challenges, in particular in the GIS domain.
- We believe good ideas count more than hierarchies.
- You’ll work together with enthusiastic engineers, hikers and cyclists.
- You’ll travel together with our team to amazing outdoor places several times a year to exchange ideas, learnings and go for hikes and rides.
- We let you work from wherever you want, be it a beach, the mountains, our headquarters in Potsdam or anywhere else that lies between the time zones UTC-1 and UTC+3.

**You will be successful in this position if you**

- Are highly self-driven, responsible and keen to learn and improve.
- Know your toolkit: git, ssh, bash, junit, jenkins and docker.
- Have deep experience (4+ years) in developing software running under high load
- Possess professional experience in Java and Python.
- Have demonstrable knowledge of common algorithms within the machine learning and statistics space.
- Have strong analytical skills.
- Love to tune, test, simulate and evaluate solutions to unusual problems.
- Live and breathe DevOps and believe in automated testing, infrastructure as code, continuous deployment, monitoring and open communication.

**Rails Engineer**

Our mission at CoinFalcon is to put the future of money, in the pockets of the world.

For too long, our shallow pockets have been a reminder of the illusion of control centralized institutions have sewed upon us. Day by day, we tear a stitch, seeing the glimmer, a faint sliver of what our money, our very lives, could look like truly unencumbered by an aged system.

With cryptocurrency, we have broken every stitch and found the true depth our pockets have yearned to provide for our financial future. Fighting by your side, CoinFalcon will help guide you along this path, by putting the future of money, in your pockets.

**What You Will Be Doing**

You will be part of our team that is responsible for building and maintaining our web and mobile applications, and to help us expand our rapidly growing web-app.

**Who We Are Looking For**

- You understand Computer Science fundamentals such as data structures/algorithms
- You have a passion for continuous learning and improvement

Cornershop Creative (https://cornershopcreative.com) is seeking an awesome, U.S.-based WordPress developer to join our distributed team.
The core responsibility for this position will be investigating, troubleshooting, and coding solutions for WordPress-based websites and applications for our non-profit and small business clients. The person occupying this role will spend his or her time making iterative changes and bug fixes to design, functionality, and backend improvements of the dozens of websites Cornershop manages and maintains. Tasks may include setting up WordPress custom post types, fields and taxonomies; troubleshooting server errors and migrating sites to hosts; and minor HTML, CSS (SASS), and JS coding for custom themes. Additionally, this position may be responsible for developing and maintaining custom WordPress plugins.
Our ideal candidate is a hard-working, curious troubleshooter comfortable working independently with little supervision, but who also enjoys working as part of a team that includes developers and non-developers. Since we're a distributed shop, you’ll get to work from home! Cool, right?
Specifically, the things we’re looking for include:

* Experience with receiving potentially vague end-user bug reports, recreating the issues, and diving into the codebase to quickly identify root causes
* Significant experience with WordPress theming: template hierarchy, hooks, WP_Query, etc.
* Strong knowledge of HTML5 markup and CSS3
* Ability to write CSS/SASS for cross-browser, responsive design (not just by using Bootstrap)
* Decent JavaScript skills (particularly in jQuery and/or the Node.js ecosystem)
* Experience managing codebases and deploying websites onto third-party hosts via git, and/or sFTP, making DNS record changes, etc
* Past experience with quickly and effectively maintaining/troubleshooting/supporting code written by other developers
* Familiarity with command line tools like git, gulp and wp-cli
* Ability to laugh at our stupid jokes (and the occasional good one)
* Familiarity with current (and evolving) best practices in front-end dev regarding semantics, performance, cross-browser consistency, etc.
* Ability to not lose your s#!% when you occasionally get feedback like “can we make the logo bigger?” or “change the padding by 1px” (and then getting asked to change it back), which may happen despite our best efforts
* Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment (we keep pretty busy!) and manage a workload of several projects at a time
* Superb written and oral communication skills

Other stuff we’d love it if you’re good at, but aren’t requirements:

* Working with and customizing BuddyPress
* Troubleshooting mySQL performance issues (and writing performant queries)
* Familiarity with Apache/nginx configuration, tuning and troubleshooting
* Ability to understand and work with common third-party REST APIs
* Develop ingenious scripts to facilitate complicated cross-platform content migrations
* Using Photoshop and understanding challenges in designing for the web
* Working with nonprofit CRM tools such as Salsa, Luminate Online, Engaging Networks, Blue State Digital, and Classy
* Remembering to un-mute yourself before talking on conference calls
* Being passionate about progressive causes
* Writing basic bash scripts and performing other devops/Linux sysadmin kinds of stuff

Cornershop Creative is an award-winning online services agency committed to listening carefully to our non-profit and small business clients and helping them achieve their goals. Our designs are beautiful, and our websites are creative and innovative. Learn more about us at https://cornershopcreative.com/.
To apply, send an email to jobs@cornershopcreative.com with the following:

* Your résumé, which should include an indication of which American state you live and work in
* A brief cover letter, explaining why you’re excited about this opportunity
* Links to work you’ve done that we should see, such as recent websites, git repos, or contributed plugins/modules/themes
* Ideal salary range

U.S. Applicants only!
Please be sure to include all of these items — to save everyone valuable time we’ll throw out incomplete applications. Thanks for understanding.

Our backend Ruby engineers manage the ingestion and normalization of large data sets from data extraction through to product delivery. We believe in working smarter not harder: much of our backend code is “meta-“ code that parses government specifications and then generates our actual code from that.

WHAT WE WILL EXPECT FROM YOU
You will have ownership of an entire module, including responsibility for:
* Creating new features in a clean and maintainable way
* Re-factoring existing code to ensure that we stay agile
* Reviewing teammates’ code and providing feedback
* Keeping yourself focused and your projects on track
* An “I can run through walls” mentality to ensure that goals are met

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US
* Autonomy to solve problems in the way you best see fit
* A manager who is accountable for ensuring you meet your professional goals
* A team who helps each other and always strives to improve
* The time to focus on creating the right solution, instead of the easiest one

REQUIREMENTS
* Professional experience as a software engineer
* Experience with Ruby or a transferable language
* A desire for continual self-improvement
* An understanding of best practices regarding maintainability and scalability
* Must have US work authorization and be located in the US (we cannot sponsor visas at this time)
* There are no formal education requirements for this position

BONUS POINTS
* Experience with functional programming (e.g. Haskell)
* Experience with data scraping and parsing

# Do you thrive on high-quality code?

8-) is a danish company, that currently consists of a few different projects, all developed in PHP and as WordPress plugins. We currently have two main projects that we’re building, and we love testing out new solutions and playing around with new technologies.

## Our Projects
### Affiliate Plug.in
Affiliate Plug.in is the oldest project. It’s a project that has been running since 2011, where the initial development began. The core features are creating price comparisons, by scraping webshops, primarily within the affiliate marketing industry.

The plugin is currently in it’s second version, but the development of v3 has begun, and is a rewrite from scratch, where the initial architecture has been defined.

Currently, Affiliate Plug.in only operates in Denmark, but the international potential is there, and with v3 we’re going all-in on the international approach.

### TTF
TTF is the other main project of 8-). The development has just begun a month ago, and the initial thoughts about the architecture has just begun.

The project is essentially an analysis-platform, that calculates a set of results based on a lot of user input, through a formula created on a WordPress site.

The system is a bit unusual in the WordPress sense, since we’re using MongoDB as our data storage.

So far the project is still in it’s initial phase, so you’ll have great opportunities to impact the actual architecture and development in the future.

## The skill set of the ideal candidate
We’re looking for a person to assist and take a leading role in developing the projects, alongside our current developer (and co-founder).

The requirements for this position are:

- PHP, ninja-level
- Git
- HTML
- CSS
- JavaScript
- WordPress

You do not have to be a WordPress export, but some knowledge about how WP is build, would be preferable.

As a bonus, but not a requirement, we’d love for you to have some experience with:

- MongoDB
- LESS/SCSS
- Building WP Plugins/Themes
- AngularJS

## The Team
Currently we are a team of 4 people. Lars is the original founder and developer of Affiliate Plug.in. Lasse teamed up with Lars and they founded 8-) together. Lasse has a background with online marketing.

On a daily basis, they’re working at DuGlemmerDetAldrig.dk, a danish startup which Lasse founded in 2012. Currently DGDA is a team of 11 people, whereas Lars, Leo and Jonathan are the developers and form the ‘technical team’.

Both Leo and Jonathan are also working on the TTF project at the moment, and you will be working with all 4 (Lars, Lasse, Leo and Jonathan) in your work with both Affiliate Plug.in and TTF.

Repable powers data-informed decision making for streamers and eSports athletes. Our passion is gaming, and we're constantly flipping back and forth between hard work and quick bursts of Overwatch, Hearthstone, League & other games. We usually have Azubu, Twitch or YouTube live streaming in the background. Our expertise is in analytics & data, and we're pooling on that knowledge to change the way the gaming industry operates.

We’re currently looking for a back-end developer to turn our MVP into something scalable. The position requires a lot of flexibility and deep knowledge in scraping and API consumption. Ideally, you have experience working with startups and/or with analytics companies. You'll be working with a rounded team of individuals, including a product manager, a front-end developer and a dedicated UI/UX designer. Given that the team is small, you'll be able to dabble into many parts of the development process, while keeping a strong focus on our back-end services.

We’re a small team based out of Toronto, ON but are looking for like-minded individuals to grow with us within North America. You don't need to live in Canada to be eligible for this position, but we'd prefer it if you were.

What Your First Year Will Look Like:

- You'll be an integral part of building the Repable platform. This includes API integration with 3rd party sites, web scraping using AWS / cloud services, and the set up of a basic consumer-facing SaaS service back end.
- You’ll play a role in the direction and growth plan of product, and implement that vision from a tech perspective. This means that some days, you’ll be discussing traffic growth and elasticity with the team, the advisors and investors of the company.
- You’ll help the company stay real, by showing us solutions that will give us 80% of what we need for 20% of the cost.

Requirements:

- Mastery of web scraping and consuming information from third party APIs are a must. You'll have shown a track record of doing this in the past.
- A thorough understanding of Amazon Web Services and competing suites of products.
- Extensive experience in your front-end language of choice. No, really. We’re agnostic at this point, but we do have opinions.
- You’ve successfully led or substantially participated in the development and deployment of a client-facing SaaS app.
- You’re comfortable with product development and web operations. You can easily interact with product managers, designers, engineers, web operators and BI / analytics teams.
- You can tell us during our initial meetings all about SaaS apps and what particular challenges they bring, and how you’ve overcome some of them.
- You’ll temper dreams and be able to propose solutions that will give the company 80% of what it needs for 20% of the cost.

Qualifications:

Experience: 1 to 5 years experience in a similar role.

Skills:

System Architecture, Web Operations, Amazon Web Services (AWS), API consumption, Web Scraping, Backend Development

Perks:

- Work with people who have done this before
- A competitive startup salary
- Stock options - a part of this company could be yours
- Grow the early stage of a company

We're a London based startup that is building a transactional marketplace for people's data and attention.

**We are looking for a Senior NodeJS developer that is available for either on-site (London) or remote freelance work starting immediately.**

Your work would primarily be focussed on the backend of our product (Node, Express, MongoDB) such as web service integrations / system processes / data handling / API management etc; alongside another senior Node/React developer.

We're looking for someone that can get involved as soon as possible, and work with us full-time, over the next 4-6 weeks. Remote work is OK but we'd need you to join our status calls and communicate with the team via Slack.

**About the company:**
We are building a platform / service that will enable consumers to take control of when and how their data is used, in addition to providing an opt-in mechanism for digital advertising; reversing the impact of ad block technology and EU data privacy regulation. In short, a digital marketplace where consumers can dynamically license their personal data and attention to brands in return for a payment.

We have already received considerable support from across multiple industries and consumer audiences. We're hoping that as we gradually expand our team, we can find some great people to continue working with along the way.

We are RiseHigh.co - a curated platform that matches and recommends developers to high growth startups for remote roles. Some startups that are currently on our platform includes Uber, Transferwise and MarketInvoice.

We let developers discover opportunities with startups efficiently and confidentially - without recruiters. We always offer salary and equity details upfront.

How it works:

1. It takes 5 minutes to indicate your career preferences and experience.

2. Afterwards, whenever our algorithm spots a matching opportunity - you'll get an email with key details on the startup, job and salary.

3. You can then choose whether to accept or decline our offer to recommend you to the startup (sometimes directly to the CTO or Founder). Over 50% of professionals we recommend receive an interview invite from the startup.

Seeq is a data analytics startup. What makes us different is that we’re going after a big market that’s often overlooked by tech companies: industrial process data. Think pharmaceutical manufacturers, wind farms, and energy companies with tons of equipment and sensors. We’re applying a unique mix of technologies and a deep understanding of the problems faced by these industries to build and refine a product that's a huge leap over existing tools and methodologies.

Our company is 100% remote. You can work anywhere in the US and Canada (we're staying in compatible timezones for now). We use a variety of collaboration tools, like Sococo and Slack, which makes us feel like we’re in the same building together.

## Technology Stack

* Java / JVM languages
* Cassandra
* Tinkerpop 3 / Titan Graph Database
* Elasticsearch
* Spark (soon)
* Node.js
* AngularJS

## Skills & Requirements

You love to code, and you love great software design. You know a well-written API when you see one because you’ve written many yourself.

You are constantly finding ways to perfect your craft, be a better teammate, and come up with cool stuff.

You’re disciplined with a high attention to detail. You love Agile/Scrum. You evangelize unit testing, continuous integration, and elegant solutions. You are allergic to bugs and have to take care of them immediately.

You learn things quickly. You’re usually the one suggesting new technologies and raising the bar for the whole team. You listen really well, and you know how to make your ideas be heard without turning people off.

You’ve got a Bachelor’s, Masters or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering.

You know Java like the back of your hand and you’ve used other JVM languages. You want to work with the tech stack we listed above, and on cloud platforms like EC2/GCE/Azure. You may be an expert at one (or more!) of these. You may or may not be Batman and/or Catwoman.

You are up for traveling periodically to hang out with your colleagues and get some face-to-face time.

You know how to balance life & work, and you don’t want a job that forces you to choose between them.

You want to work with a bunch of really smart people that love working together. And you want to work for a startup with good investors and a bright future.

MapD is seeking a Backend Engineer to add to its software development team.  As a Backend Engineer, you will work closely with a dedicated team of Backend Engineers building the best modern, cutting-edge GPU-based analytics engine on the market.  You should have solid C++ development skills to bring to the table, as well as experience with CUDA.  Previous experience with analytics engines is a huge plus.  Key to this role is being self-motivated and a self-starter, as well as a strong passion for high-performance computing with a heavy performance engineering focus.

We’re big fans of hiring people who are not just great at what they do but also how they do it. Critical to our culture is building and maintaining a team that works well together and knows how to communicate effectively - not just within their own team, but also across peripheral teams.

We don’t believe in divas or rock stars. We are looking for someone who embodies the best parts of open-source culture: Humility, open-mindedness, positivity, and respect for others. A team member who doesn’t try to single-handedly save the day but embraces input and collaboration as a means to find the best solution.

Your success in this role will be predicated on your ability to prioritize your work, be self-motivated and a self-starter, to speak up early and often, and to work well with others. You should be passionate about building great software, and about building a product that is slated to revolutionize the world of data analytics across multiple industries. We’re great at encouraging our people to learn different technologies, continue their professional growth, and try out new ways of doing things. We’re in it for the long-haul, and you should be too.

Our office is located in downtown San Francisco, and this position will initially report to the Backend Core Team Leader. This is an individual contributor role and will not manage other people.  While our preference is to hire local employees, we will also consider exceptional candidates for remote work.

Responsibilities:

* Design, develop and maintain code enhancements in the MapD Core Data Engine.

Qualifications:

* BS or higher degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

* A minimum of 5 years C++ development experience, ideally with some exposure to GPU programming using LLVM or CUDA

* A passion for high-performance computing

* Working knowledge of SQL

Bonuses:

* Familiarity with one or more of statistics, distributed systems or geospatial

* Experience with data analytics and/or analytics engines

* Willingness to learn about new technologies

When someone installs Density in a location, they get access to real time, accurate people count. The experience is magical to a customer, but the process involved in accomplishing it is complex. We are seeking a talented backend engineer to help architect a suite of web-based products for our customers and for ourselves, to transform our data into knowledge.

The software systems that support Density are foundational: our customer facing APIs and applications, the systems that manage and orchestrate our fleet of devices, and the internal tools that keep our organization running smoothly. We put a high value on the infrastructure that supports our systems, and love approaching problems through research, prototyping, and experimentation. We are not afraid to embrace new technologies, but are mindful in what we choose.

As an organization, we understand the importance of design, focusing on fundamental problems, and decentralizing decision making. As an engineering team, we design, build, and test with simplicity and scalability in mind. As individuals, we take ownership in our work and decisions. We’re looking for someone with a deep understanding of the web who shares these ideals.

This position reports to Density's Director of Web & Mobile Applications.

What you'll work on

* Lead backend development on internal and customer facing projects, utilizing Python and Django

* Build APIs and data delivery mechanisms for applications such as web dashboards, alerting & health systems, mobile applications, and third party integrations

* Contribute to frontend application development using ES6, React, and Redux

* React to customer needs and feedback through tight-looped, iterative development

* Contribute to open source initiatives

* Document and teach best practices across our stack

What we're looking for

* 5+ years industry experience building and scaling web applications and APIs

* Deep experience with Python and Django

* Experience with relational & non-relational databases

* An understanding and appreciation for application performance monitoring and profiling tools

* A desire to define, document, and teach web engineering standards

* Strong writing skills, with experience crafting clear and concise documentation

* A motivation for constant learning

Icing on the cake

* A strong appreciation for design

* Experience with building applications using ES6, React, and Redux

* Experience building data-centric applications, including analytics pipelines, report generation systems, and alerting & health systems

* Experience with statistical analysis and trend data modeling

* Experience working with time series databases

Fantastic opportunity for an ambitious programmer. Our stack: React, Python/Django, Postgres on AWS. We are looking for very strong app dev backend Python skills. Lots of ORM work. Lots of complex business logic. When we say "app dev backend Python skills" we mean you've written hundreds of thousands of lines of complex python code over years in a deployed application used by thousands of end users, not a few a dozen deployment scripts used by other engineers on your team. That said, your front end skills can suck. :)

We are based in Durango, CO, but you can work anywhere in the U.S. You can work from home, or we will set you up in a co-working space with your own office wherever you want. There's minor travel a couple of times a year here to Durango which is a pretty fun place to have to go to for work. We are perfectly set up for remote developers and most of our communication is via slack, email, and jira.

This is a standard software development job, so all the usual duties apply: write code, test code, review code, do tickets, occasional meetings for requirements (we keep it really light). The basic job is: write good code, get it live, rinse and repeat.

GitPrime is an amazing company. We are doing fascinating work to help engineers all over the world reach their potential as professional coders. We pay really well, have great benefits, give stock options so we all share in the upside, and we let you work from wherever you want.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $90,000.00 to $140,000.00 /year

Your key responsibilities

* Implement new features closely together with our web and mobile developers, designers, copywriters and product managers.

* Develop and tune algorithms to leverage our content recommendation, rankings, content analyses and product smartness.

* Build new and improve existing micro-services, primarily in Java/Kotlin and Python.

* Use the AWS ecosystem to build resilient and high-performing systems.

Why you will love it

* You’ll work on a global product that inspires millions of users.

* You’ll get system access on your first day, as we know you are a smart and responsible engineer.

* You’ll take ownership over your projects from day one (from concept to implementation; testing, deployment and monitoring).

* Your challenging tasks will keep improving your skills and keep you up-to-date with the latest technologies.

* We have a wide range of diverse challenges, in particular in the GIS domain.

* We believe good ideas count more than hierarchies.

* You’ll work together with enthusiastic engineers, hikers and cyclists.

* You’ll travel together with our team to amazing outdoor places several times a year to exchange ideas, learnings and go for hikes and rides.

* We let you work from wherever you want, be it a beach, the mountains, our headquarters in Potsdam or anywhere else that lies between the time zones UTC-1 and UTC+3.

You will be successful in this position if you

* Are highly self-driven, responsible and keen to learn and improve.

* Know your toolkit: git, ssh, bash, junit, jenkins and docker.

* Have deep experience (4+ years) in developing software running under high load

* Possess professional experience in Java and Python.

* Have demonstrable knowledge of common algorithms within the machine learning and statistics space.

* Have strong analytical skills.

* Love to tune, test, simulate and evaluate solutions to unusual problems.

* Live and breathe DevOps and believe in automated testing, infrastructure as code, continuous deployment, monitoring and open communication.

Sound like you?

Then send us the following:

* Your CV.

* A write-up explaining who you are and why you are interested in working at komoot.

* Examples of your work (e.g. GitHub, PDFs, Slideshare, etc.).

* Something that shows us a little more about what you’re interested in, be it your Twitter/Instagram account or your blog.

* As we love people that go the extra mile, you’ll get bonus points for doing something creative with komoot.

About the job:

We are looking for two Senior Backend Engineers to develop and grow our crawling and extraction services. Our automated service is used directly by our customers via API, as well as by us for internal projects. Our extraction capabilities include automated product and article extraction from single pages or whole domains using machine learning and custom built components and we plan to expand it for jobs and news. The service is still in early stages of development, serving its first customers.

As a professional services company we are often required to build a custom crawling and extraction pipeline for a specific customer. That requires crawl and extraction planning with respect to customer needs, including crawling time estimation and HW allocation. The volume is often very high, and solutions have to be properly designed to provide the required performance, reliability and maintainability.

Our platform has several components communicating via Apache Kafka and using HBase as a permanent storage. Most components are written in Python, while several crucial components are made using Scala and Kafka Streams. Currently, main priorities are improving reliability and scalability of the system, integration with other Scrapinghub services, implementation of auto-scaling and other features. This is going to be a challenging journey for every good Backend Engineer!

Job Responsibilities:

* Design and implementation of a large scale web crawling and extraction service.

* Solution architecture for large scale crawling and data extraction: design, hardware and development effort estimations, writing proposal drafts, explaining and motivating the solution for customers,

* Implementation and troubleshooting of Apache Kafka applications: workers, HW estimation, performance tuning, debugging,

* Interaction with data science engineers and customers

* Write code carefully for critical and production environments along with good communication and learning skills.

Requirements:

* Experience building at least one large scale data processing system or high load service. Understanding what CPU/memory effort the particular code requires,

* Good knowledge of Python

* experience with any distributed messaging system (Rabbitmq, Kafka, ZeroMQ, etc),

* Docker containers basics,

* Linux knowledge.

* Good communication skills in English,

* Understand a ways to solve problem, and ability to wisely choose between: quick hotfix, long-term solution, or design change.

Bonus points for:

* Kafka Streams and microservices based on Apache Kafka, understanding Kafka message delivery semantics and how to achieve them on practice,

* HBase: data model, selecting the access patterns, maintenance processes,

* Understanding how web works: research on link structure, major components on link graphs,

* Algorithms and data structures background,

* Experience with web data processing tasks: web crawling, finding similar items, mining data streams, link analysis, etc.

* Experience with Microservices,

* Experience with JVM,

* Open source activity.

Senior Backend Developer

Lasso is the creator of the leading cloud-based CRM software for real estate marketing and sales. Our users are real estate developers, homebuilders, and sales agencies that use Lasso to convert prospects to purchasers and sell their developments faster and easier.

We have experienced consistent growth during the last decade and our user base asks a lot of our system. Scale, reliability, and innovation keep us learning on daily basis. You will join our server-side team to enhance and maintain our server-side Java 8 and Kotlin applications.

We have distributed systems hosted in AWS, which are presented to our users through an AngularJS frontend.

Moving forward, the biggest challenge we face is scaling our systems to work with a large dataset and high system load. You’ll help us build systems that can easily scale up and down the number of processing nodes as needed and implement rate-limiting to ensure rogue systems don’t impact our SLAs for other applications.

Additionally, you’ll improve the performance of our main data store by adding or changing indexes as appropriate, add caching functionality where possible and set up monitoring to catch performance bottlenecks early on.

Culture and Work Environment

As a fully remote team, communication is extremely important - there is no chance to drop in on interesting discussions around the water cooler or to see if someone is busy just by glancing at their desk.

We have systems to signal busy-ness; regular meetings and stand-ups to disseminate information, frequent one-on-ones to ensure there are no frustrations building up, a code of conduct and a formal complaint process to resolve conflicts early-on.

You thrive in a self-directed and open work environment. There’s no boss breathing down your neck, no deadlines, no fixed work hours and no in-office requirements. It’s really important that you can manage your time well, and you know what you need in order to do your job well (e.g. what work hours to pick so you have enough time to communicate with team members effectively)

As a key member of our server-side team, you’ll specifically be expected to:

* Design and build API endpoints for our internal and public APIs

* Architect efficient task scheduling and processing systems

* Keep up-to-date on new AWS features and integrate them into our tech stack if appropriate

* Work closely with the Director of Engineering to adapt and develop our architecture and systems

* Implement monitoring systems for performance bottlenecks on our main data store

* Determine through performance profiling where to add caching to our distributed systems and internal interfaces

* Monitor the growth of our datasets and assist in creating strategies to address the systems where growth could become an issue

Requirements:

* Deep knowledge of the OOP paradigm, experience with functional programming and other approaches is a plus

* Experience building complex systems with many moving parts, such as different protocols, varying restrictions on latency or CAP parameters

* Knowledge of common logging and CI tools, at least on an abstract level

* Excellent knowledge of static type systems and compiled languages

* Deep knowledge of various data stores such as SQL, document stores, key-value stores or queuing systems, as well as their performance characteristics and scalability issues

* Good understanding of caching and cache invalidation strategies

Benefits:

* Work where and how you are most productive

* You are not required to be in the office. Start time and work times are flexible

* We’ll provide a development setup of your choosing, whether it’s a MacBook Pro or the components for a nice PC tower, you can pick whatever works best for you

* Pick your own tools. We use what we know best. Windows, Mac, Linux, whatever you like

* We provide you with a tools budget that you can use to make yourself productive ($300 per purchase, no authorization needed)

* We know learning is a must on and off the job. We provide formal education matching (up to $1500 yearly) and funding for other continued learning, conferences, and workshops

* Medical and Dental benefits

* Great Vancouver-market salary

Interested?

Lasso’s vision is to be the technology hub for new home sales in North America by providing a unique combination of remarkable software and expert services. To achieve our vision we need great developers. That’s why we’ve created a great work environment, encouraging self-direction, personal development, and teamwork. If you think you’re a good fit, send your resume and cover letter to jobs@lassocrm.com.

We are looking for a few great back end architects/developers to join our team.  Although we have offices in Pompano Beach, FL, you can work full-time from anywhere in the comfort of your own home (or join us in the office if you prefer, full relocation provided).  Senior (and very senior, and very very senior) level architects/developers with anywhere from 5 thru 20+ years experience are welcome to apply. Though we do not hire based on specific languages or technologies, we primarily utilize standard web technologies (JavaScript, React, etc.) and the Microsoft development stack (C#, SQL Server) on AWS (using Redis, ElasticSearch, Redshift, DynamoDb, Kinesis, etc.).

You should:

* Have a passion for server/api/data development and technology in general

* Enjoy and thrive in an agile, fast-moving, ever-changing startup environment

* Welcome and take on technical challenges of all shapes and sizes

* Be comfortable working in a distributed, semi-virtual environment

* Be capable of creating and executing on technical direction and tasks for yourself and others

* Be able to take minimal direction from others and provide maximal output for yourself (and others)

* Have excellent interpersonal skills and a sense of humor

You will (just as we all do):

* Develop back-office software, systems, and API's in an agile environment to integrate with a growing set of practice management software solutions

* Take ownership of bringing new and improved features and functionality to our entire stack

* Work independently within a group of developers to drive product development

* Communicate and coordinate effectively with other independent techies and non-techies alike to ensure optimal progress towards our goals

You must:

* Demonstrate solid working knowledge of any mainstream object oriented programming language, ideally C#, C++, Java.

* Have a deep understanding of back end/server/api development, including application and database/data development and architectures

* Possess broad applicable knowledge of data/database technologies including traditional RDBMS's (SQL Server), NoSql (DynamoDb), Search (ElasticSearch), Analytics/Warehousing (Redshift, EMR), Streaming (Kinesis), etc.

* Display working knowledge of the SQL language and/or SQL-based relational database system(s) (i.e. MySql, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)

* Have a solid command of written and spoken English

The Perks:

* Work from the comfort of your home or in our office in Pompano Beach, FL

* Work in an office (when you are in the office anyhow) that understands and values techies. No cubicles, no unnecessary meetings, the freedom to produce results, excellent hardware, and people that laugh at your techie jokes

* Responsibility for your output (and the corresponding accountability)

* Attractive compensation

* Other great teammates you will learn from (and vice versa)
