The company

Do you believe that the best education in the world should be accessible to all of the hundreds of millions of students worldwide? Do the current “e-learning” platforms feel oh-so 1990s to you? Do you think AI could, in the near future, teach humans better than most human teachers? Do you have extraordinary product management skills? Then we’re looking for you!

At Mindojo we're making ultra-premium education available to everyone, regardless of location and socioeconomic class. Within our platform students are constantly engaged in a personalized dialogue with our AI private tutor, far surpassing the efficacy of existing resources (textbooks, video or classroom lectures, and various "e-learning" products).

The Position

As a Senior Product Manager you will own the full lifecycle of several of Mindojo’s products, from ideation to plan, execution and post-release analysis. You will:
Collaborate with an elite team of passionate developers and designers who, like you, are avid supporters of a revolution in education.

  • Illustrate use cases, prioritize product requirements and craft specifications.
  • Work closely with designers to deliver high-end UI & UX that will delight users.
  • Manage development through day-to-day guidance and support of engineering teams.
  • Define success metrics; track, analyze and report on key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with marketing staff on campaign optimizations that extend well into the product.
  • Manage and maintain partner relationships, delivery schedules, and change requests

This is a remote position (work from anywhere), but team members are invited to participate in company retreats we hold for a few days every few months (usually in some city/resort in Europe, all expenses paid by the company.)

For candidates with experience in leading teams of product managers, we can offer a more senior variant of this position.

    Ideal candidate

  • 3+ years in web and/or mobile product management, preferably as a product lead. Proven experience of improving a working product with live audience is a must.
  • Passionate about learning and education. Experience in teaching/training people, either in person or using e-learning solutions, is a strong plus.
  • Experience with “freemium”, consumer-focused, subscription-based web products.
  • Expertly use analytics, user research and business cases to inform and/or validate decisions. Experience with Mixpanel or similar solutions.
  • Experience working in a distributed team is a strong plus.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced product development environment.
  • Has exceptional communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • University degree and software development experience is highly desirable. Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or similar, and/or MBA a strong plus.
  • Excellent command of English (speaking and writing).

Please attach a cover letter and references to past or current products you manage.

Apply and start working with us, and you’ll play a key part in revolutionizing education worldwide!

LaterPay

Engineering Manager - Platform Team

LaterPay

exec

exec

10d

Apply

DESCRIPTION
About LaterPay

With LaterPay, we want to change the way people buy and sell digital content on the Internet. Why? Because we believe paying for digital content should be fast, convenient, and fair. And because we think you should be able to buy the exact piece of content you want.

We want to create a great software product that influences and changes the way people use paid content of any kind on the Internet. Consuming paid content should be as easy and convenient as going out to dinner: you are served first, and pay later. We want to build a user-centric product that makes users feel smart. It should represent the simplest, most secure way to buy digital goods. We want to change the way people regard paid content, turning it into a great experience. We want to enable businesses to offer “paid content as a service”, assuring users of their content’s value instead of forcing them to pay before actually getting the content.

What we have

English is our language, Slack is our “office” (though we also rent an office in Munich), GitHub is where we keep our code, and AWS is where our stuff runs (plus some machines in a Munich DC, but we’re winding that down).

We have two engineering teams that work on our core services. We’d like you to be the engineering manager for the Platform team and help the team to prioritise and organise their work.

How we work

As a distributed team, we’re not too bothered by when and where you work. That said, most of us work Monday - Friday from 9ish UTC to 6ish UTC, and ideally you’ll overlap heavily with that.

We try to be as asynchronous as possible, but still feel that we need some “synchronicity” to work well.

  • Based in UTC+4 and want to work “normal hours”? Sure.
  • Based in UTC–8 and want to time-shift your days to overlap with “Team UTC”? If that works for you, sure.
  • Hobbies, family, pets etc. that require you to take time out of your day? Assuming you can maintain a reasonable amount of overlap with the rest of the team, sure.
We care more about what you do and how you work with the rest of the team than we do about your ability to be in a chair at a desk at 9am every day.

What we’re looking for

Good command of written English

Communication is vital, especially as a distributed team where most tools we use don’t communicate tone or body language, so you need to have a good command of written English

Enthusiasm for agile development and people
We want you to be enthusiastic about helping people to achieve their goals, and coaching teams to be awesome. You’ll know the importance of agile processes and ceremonies, and you’ll have ideas about running those remotely.

Understanding the dynamics of a distributed team
We’d like you to have an understanding of the challenges of working in a distributed team, and the challenges that teams have when they’re distributed. Experience of running development teams is essential, and experience of running distributed development teams would be great.

Specifics

You’ll be responsible for engineering management of the Platform team at LaterPay. We favour agile environments, so you know how different agile methodologies work, and which ones to apply in what situations.

You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team including infrastructure and software engineers. You’ll help them to plan and prioritise their work, improve their processes, and ship code quickly and efficiently.

You’ll work with the team to ensure they work at a sustainable pace that balances quality and speed.

You’ll build your team by taking part in hiring and line management of 5 people, and support your team’s personal and professional development.

You’ll work with the Product Manager and other product representatives to prioritise your backlog of work into small achievable pieces.

You’ll run retrospectives, and ensure that the teams regularly inspect and adapt their processes.

Apply

We're accepting applications until 31 March. All screens and interviews will be arranged after the closing date.

Salary
60 - 65k EUR / year

The Mimic Method

Content Manager

The Mimic Method

exec

exec

12d

Apply

What we Do

At The Mimic method, we create products for people to learn languages online. But our approach is different from that of other language companies. We don’t teach literacy, grammar theory, or translation like everyone else.
Instead, we help people unblock their hearing and pronunciation in the language.

  • When you unblock your hearing, you can understand native speakers when they talk fast.
  • When you unblock your pronunciation, you can impress native speakers with your accent.

The more you can understand and impress people in conversation, the more you can connect with them. We don’t care about people reading foreign language newspapers or passing language certification exams.
We care about people making human connections across the language barrier.

We believe the world would be a better place if more people did this. There would be less fear and violence and more love and creativity. If you agree with our philosophy, and you want to help us in our mission, then we may have the perfect job for you…

The Position – Content Czar
To promote our brand, we need to produce content that is educational, entertaining and original. The more articles, videos and graphics we produce, the more visitors we bring to the site.
As Content Czar, you will start by creating most of the content yourself.

This is the fastest way to familiarize yourself with our learning philosophy and voice. After initial onboarding, expect to produce articles each week to start. You will also test different marketing strategies while communicating directly with our audience through email and social media.
Speaking directly with readers and customers is the fastest way to develop your marketing intuition.

Then soon as you have a good feel for what works, you will help build our “content machine.”

This involves formalizing the processes for content research, production and publication. It also involves recruiting, training and managing other people to operate the machine.

In the long run, you will focus less on content creation and more on strategy and leadership.

Scope of Work (a day in the life)
  • Full Time position
  • “High-Touch,” calls multiple times per week
  • Manage blog content and guest post outreach
  • Produce/Edit 2-3 blog content per week
  • Doing research within the audience and tailoring content according to their needs
  • Coordinate with writers, designers and other freelancers
  • Keeping up with the SEO industry at least on the surface

Compensation and Career
We are looking for an Intrapreneurial-type person to grow with our company in the long term.

Currently, we work as a distributed team. That means you can work from anywhere in the world on your own schedule. All that we require is that you are very reachable and deliver results.

During this 6-month trial period, we will pay you $2,000 per month. If the trial goes well, we will negotiate a higher full-time salary based on your performance.

In the long term, your salary will increase as the company expands. And if you prove yourself to be a rockstar, there is a potential for commissions and/or profit share.

Learning and Growth
Learning and Growth are two of our core values at The Mimic Method. One way that we live these values is by investing heavily in our own continued education.

If we select you for this position, we will provide you with anything you need to make you a more effective Content Czar. This means professional training in highly useful skills like digital marketing, copywriting, and personnel management, etc.

There is no better way for you to develop than to study the most effective strategies out there and apply them to a real world setting.

We are looking for someone who values growth and learning above all else – and we plan to nurture this value.

Must-have Qualities
For this position, we are looking for someone with a specific set of qualities. Since we know these qualities to be rare, most people reading this will NOT have them all.

Please do not apply for this job unless you have ALL the qualities described below.

  • Values-Aligned
  • Shrewd/Intellectual
  • Well-spoken/well-written
  • Highly-structured
  • Results-Driven

Allow me to briefly touch upon each trait.

Values-Aligned
To work with us long term, you need to share our core values of Truth, Growth, Education and Respect.

If you strongly identify with the statements below, then you probably share our values:

  • I must constantly grow as a person, otherwise I am dying.
  • I have an insatiable appetite for knowledge, and I will continue learning for the rest of my life.
  • My sex, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, nationality, etc, doesn’t make me inherently superior to anyone, which is why I make a point to respect everyone.
  • Before I die, I must travel the world and know its people as much as I can.
  • Before I die, I must create or contribute to something meaningful.
Do you share these values? If so, keep reading!

Introspective/Shrewd
Are you the introspective type? Do you spend way too much time contemplating the nature of society, the cosmos, or the inner-workings of your own mind?

I know I do.

As content manager, you and I will speak on a regular basis to develop content and strategy together.

If you are a fellow introspective, then our conversations will energize us both. This energy will transfer to our work and enable us to reach our goals faster.

But I don’t want someone who thinks like me. I’m a bit of a scatter-brain, so I need an unscattered brain to complement my thinking.
  • Have you always had an intuitive understanding of people’s thoughts and emotions?
  • Do you often know what people are going to say before they say it?
  • Has someone ever told you “I feel like you know me better than I know myself!”

If so, then you might be exactly the person I’m looking for.

Well Spoken/Well Written
My preferred style of communication is live conversation. To refine my ideas, I need to stress-test them in debate. Are you able to formulate your views in the moment and present them with clear argumentation? If so, then I’m looking forward to our first conversation!

But more important than that, I need someone with superb writing skills.

You need to take complex subjects and break them down into simple explanations. Your writing must be clear but also enjoyable to read. Bonus points if you can spice it up with some humor!

Your writing ability will be the main thing that we’ll test you on during the interview process.

Highly Structured
Most people love the idea of working on their own schedule, but few people are actually cut out for it.

Getting things done on a consistent basis without a rigid external structure requires discipline.

For this role, we need someone who’s always had that sort of discipline. The type of person who likes to organize work schedules, computer files and sock drawers for the fun of it.

If you’re the right person, then you know exactly what I’m talking about!

Results Driven
As fun and interesting as all this language stuff may be, at the end of the day, we want results.

As content manager, your chief aim is to drive traffic to our site.

We we will assess your performance based on hard metrics like views and shares. So those of you who are numerophobic need not apply.

We are looking for someone with grit; someone who won’t stop working at something until she gets the results she’s looking for.

Nice-to-Have Qualities
The following qualities are not required for the application, but they are helpful. If you have any of them, be sure to mention in your application video:

  • Can speak multiple languages
  • Has learned 1 or more foreign language to fluency as an adult
  • Is willing to spend extensive time in Lisbon, Portugal (company HQ)
  • Can play a musical instrument or can sing
  • Has extensive experience writing for other publications.
  • Has maintained a personal blog or vlog for extended period of time.
  • Knows how to write SEO-friendly articles
  • Has experience in online marketing (Content, Social Media, PPC, etc.)
  • Has experience managing personel.
  • Has experience in online business.

Application Process

There will be 3 steps to this selection process:

  1. Writing test and video application
  2. Interview round 1 and Video Test
  3. Interview round 2

Writing Test and Video Application
The first step is to test your ability to translate my random thoughts into clear prose.

In the video below, I explain the importance of memorizing scripts for language-learning. At the moment of recording, I improvised a metaphor about swimming that turned out much less clear than I hoped.

Writing Test (Start video at 4:30)

Your job is to figure out what my point was (if I ever had one) and write it out clearly and convincingly in a blog post. You may use as few or as many words as you deem necessary.

The main goal is to have a quality piece of content that captures the essence of what I was trying to communicate.

Video Application
Next, you must record a video of yourself explaining two things:

  • Why do you want this position?
  • Why should we want you?

The video should be between 3-10 minutes in length and uploaded to a video-hosting service like vimeo or youtube.

Once your video and article are ready, fill out this application form. In the form, you will be able to attach your test article as a PDF and application video as a URL link.

Interview Round 1 & Test
If I like your video and writing sample, I will contact you to set up a skype interview.

At the end of this interview, I will explain a phonetic concept to you. Then it will be your job to create a short video explanation of that concept.

The goal here is to test your versatility as an educator and content creator.

Interview Round 2
If you make it past the video test, we will have a final interview with you and the rest of the team. This is where we ask the tough questions to weed out the final winner.

Does this description fit you? Are you game for some unconventional interviewing practices?

Do you want to start a new location-independent career, build something epic, grow professionally, and potentially get rich in the process?

DevFactory Technical Product Manager - $100k

Are you in a technical role now and have a vision for how things SHOULD be built but lack the influence to change it?

Some of the best Technical Product Managers come from strong technical leaders who decide to make the jump from implementing a product to defining a product. DevFactory is especially suited for you, as we are a By Developers, for Developers focused company.

Are you a great Technical Product Manager looking for the next big thing?

DevFactory is one of the most exciting companies you could imagine for Technical Product Managers. Hard problems, revolutionary technology, and a great team.

One of the best Technical Product Management jobs. Period.

Here are a just a few reasons why:

  • By Developers for Developers: As a Technical Product Manager, you know software development. Youve very likely have had a significant portion of your career in software development. All those times you thought to yourself I would absolutely have created this tool way better... in this role you can.
Define products you would love to use.

  • Iteration, Improvement focused culture: We have a culture that not only enables your success, but strives to always think what better looks like. We view this iterative improvement as a necessity not only from an individual perspective, but as a team. You will be an integral part to improving not only products, but how we deliver products.

  • Career Focus: Candidates have a clear career path to increased compensation and responsibility. As your skills and competencies grow, your scope and area of impact will grow as well.

  • Customer Focus: At DevFactory, how our Customers will actually use our product (the use case), is the primary driver behind every specification. We believe that by centralizing the Use Case, we can focus on what makes our products great for our customers, and unique in the marketplace.

  • Learn and Use Disruptive Tech: Every day you hear about how some new company is applying disruptive technology to a stagnant industry. Wouldnt you like to be working for those innovative companies working on those new industry changing approaches? At Devfactory, this is your chance to be a part of that and both learn and apply these disruptive technologies (such as AI, Machine Learning, Big Data analysis, NLP, PaaS Cloud services) from Open Source, AWS, Google, and others.

  • Work/Life Balance: DevFactory is a fully remote company, with every role being a fully remote role. Simply put, DevFactory provides you with a unique work/life flexibility and the opportunity to work with a global team of top performers in their field.

A bit about DevFactory

The DevFactory culture is rooted in a deep appreciation of software and software development combined with an intense desire to use metrics and objective data to make software development better. We are inspired by the industrial manufacturing revolution that happened over 100 years ago. Jobs were loosely defined, not measured, not specialized, not automated, and the result was terrible quality and productivity. Today manufacturing is dominated by scientific measurement, automation, specialization, and well defined processes - making it very high quality and 100x more productive. We see the same opportunity in large scale software development.

We build systems that help make software and software dev teams better. We measure the quality of code, tests, builds, and architectures at a deep level; finding valuable insights not just surface level coding violations. We mine the history of source control systems to help dev teams find their buggiest parts of code, most productive developers, riskiest classes, etc. We build active systems that evaluate code on every commit and help our customers prevent their software quality from slowly eroding and accumulating expensive technical debt.

If making software better and development teams more productive is something you are passionate about, youll be inspired at DevFactory.

DevFactory is actively hiring candidates for this position through the CrossOver marketplace on Crossover.com. Crossover is one of the most legitimate companies offering high-paying jobs that are 100% remote, work from home. You never have to fight traffic to the office again and you have the freedom to choose when and where you put in your 40 hours to be most effective each week.

Responsibilities of the Role

As a Technical Product Manager, your core responsibility is to take the big ideas from Product Management Leadership and figure out how to break it down into meaningful bite-size chunks for Engineering. Were relying on you to take that large complex release, figure out how it should be functionally broken down, and then defining that very clearly for the development team to go implement. Youll be using your deep technical background to identify the key decisions that need to be made (sometimes the hardest part!), finding the best answer to those questions and then defining both how the product will be implemented, and what you want to see to know that it was implemented correctly.

At DevFactory were Agile. We have 1-2 week sprints that focus on a clear milestone of work in the greater release. As a Technical Product Manager, your primary responsibility is to take the large release level ideas and break it into clear Milestone specifications that the development team can actually build. As you will be the owner for the area, you will be ultimately responsible for reviewing what the engineering team has actually built and making the final call on if it meets exactly what you specified or needs additional work.

Qwilr

Copywriter/Content Lead

Qwilr

18d

Apply

Hi, my name is Sasha Kovaliov, Head of Marketing with Qwilr.

Qwilr is a modern and powerful business documents platform. And by modern we mean ahead of everyone by a mile!

Qwilr doc is a native web page that comes with all the advantages of the web. It looks great on all of your devices (shame on you PDF). You can embed any web content into Qwilr docs (Word and Google Docs are out!). You can connect our docs with all of your favorite apps (a Slack notification on first view anyone?). You can accept quotes, get paid, collect info through custom forms, track opens, chat with readers, and so much more.

Qwilr -- 10, everyone else -- out :)

Everyday we help thousands customers to win more business.

Now, here is where we need your help. We’ve divided the work into three sections:

1. Analyze;
2. Produce;
3. Attract.

Analyze:
How do you know that your content performs well? You measure it!

We are looking for an analytically inclined writer, who knows how to A/B test messages, website copy, headlines, etc; analyze bounce rate, page views and heat maps to improve conversion rates.

We have a couple of core KPIs we are looking to improve, but it’s up to you to come up with the performance framework and demonstrate how the suggested metrics will influence our business goals.

Produce:
You are an amazing talented copywriter! And when you put your fingers to work you produce happiness, confidence, and make Qwilr stand out.

You’ll start by jumping right in and mapping out our content production and identifying the gaps that we (you :) need to fill.

Here is a list of things you’ll be working on:
  • Produce webinars, infographics, blog posts, video scripts, customer stories, press releases, social media updates;
  • Write creative briefs and direct content assets production;
  • Repurpose existing content and package it into alternative forms;
  • Work on Lifecycle Messaging to improve email subject lines, body content, in-app messaging, and marketing product copy;
  • Work with other teams on the launches of seasonal campaigns, new marketing initiatives, new products and services.

Attract:
I’ll be straight: this is the most demanding part of the job.

So many companies are publishing so much great content nowadays, and we need to stand out.

You’ll need to get backlinks, build relationships with stars in various B2B industries, make sure that our content converts leads into customers and supports them on their journey.

You’ll need to turn our content into a lead generation and conversion machine!

Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism or a related field;
  • 4+ years online copywriting experience.

Show us you can do this:
  • Copywriting for emails, in-app messages, and subject lines, in a variety of tones and styles;
  • Generating ad content (with a focus on product ads);
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices for keyword usage and targeting user intent, especially for product listings and landing pages;
  • Developing engaging, customer-centric content with a clear brand voice;
  • Using quantitative data and analytics software to improve your copy;
  • Love of new technology;
  • Ability to work on a small team handling both strategy and execution plus wearing multiple hats when needed;
  • Coordinating project timelines with other teams;
  • Copywriting for User Interfaces (UIs), error messaging, calls to action, section headers, micro copy, and help text;
  • Maintaining excellent grammar and attention to detail;
  • Working at a technology startup or a marketing company;
  • Knowledge of A/B testing;
  • HTML/CSS basic skills;
  • Photoshop/Canvas proficiency to produce great assets to support your copy.

About our team
Qwilr is a nimble and fast growing distributed team with headquarters in Sydney, Australia. Our team members work in the US, Argentina and a couple of other countries. This position is remote. Strong preference if you are on the US West Coast.

You’ll be working on our Marketing team. However, this is a very cross functional role, so you’ll be talking to developers, customer support and sales team members as well!

This is a critical role for the success of the marketing team with a lot of responsibility. We all help each other achieve our goals, so you’ll be in a good company.

We all really love what we do and strive to greatness. Show us what you got!

Hello!

We’re ElevenYellow, an intentionally small team of 16 coming from 6 different countries.

Generating more sales through social media is a bit of smoke and mirrors. Large companies have entire departments figuring things out, but small companies often lack the resources and need to hire expensive agencies or do everything on their own. That’s where we come in. We create simple and intuitive tools that automate behaviors on social media platforms to generate growth. Not only are they effective, they’re affordable for businesses of any size. Some of our tools include Archie.co, Linkedeep.com, and Holr.co.

Each of our products has a small dedicated customer support team. We’re looking for someone to oversee the customer success strategy of them all.

About you

  • You thrive in startup environments and are self-motivated.
We’re a small team so there will be many hats to wear and many fires to put out.

  • Excellent written English skills.
All of our customer support is done via e-mail and tickets. English as a primary language is important but not necessary.

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in managing small teams
+ if Customer Support, ++ if SaaS or using Zendesk
We’re looking for creative leaders that will inspire others.

  • You are organized and committed to documentation
Because we are a remote team, thorough and detailed documentation is critical to our success. You will also be asked to help us improve and better organize this key component of our 100% remote culture.

  • Deep empathy for customers & social media knowledge
Our customers are primarily small businesses that drive revenue through social media. We take great pride in helping them achieve their goals; you should too.

Things you’ll be doing

  • Being a guru of all of our products.

  • Recruiting, organizing and managing the support team
Our support team is currently 5 people.

  • Documenting internal support processes

  • Creating content for our clients
(FAQ, Guides, Screencasts…) finding ways to reduce churn rate and improve upselling and cross-selling.

  • Analyzing all customer feedback
Gain insights from feedback to help us make our products better.

  • KPIs you’ll be responsible for:
Churn rate, Ticket answer time, Overall support satisfaction, Tickets opened per 1000 clients.

  • Develop and deploy strategies to reduce the amount of support needed.

  • Generate performance reviews
Regularly assess customer support performance in relation to KPI’s and any new developments in terms of feedback, content, or strategy development.

What we offer

  • A fully remote team and culture - no difference between those in the office and those working remotely.
  • Competitive salary.
  • Fast growing products with a chance of owning stock in them after the first year.
  • Competitive perks (health insurance, sports allowance, knowledge allowance, latest technology, etc).
  • Yearly retreats in beautiful places like Bali and Berlin.

How to apply

Send us an e-mail and tell us why you think you'd be a good fit.

Complete any or all of the following for a more complete application:

  • Send us a link to any kind of documentation that you’ve written and evaluate its strengths and weaknesses.

  • Tell us what books you’ve read about customer service and what you thought of them.

  • Have you been part of a great customer support experience? Tell us about it.

  • A user requests white-labeling for a product that doesn’t support it yet. Write a reply to this user.

  • What is something you believe about customer support that most people don’t?

To apply: Send us an e-mail to wat@elevenyellow.com.

We have a Product Manager position responsible for managing and owning various products we have built.

We want to hear from people who have a great eye for detail, passion for and intelligence with data and an up-to-the minute knowledge of the latest and greatest techniques in user experience design and development in eCommerce. If you think you have the following, we want to hear from you:

  • Experience managing eCommerce website or software products from creation through to launch.
  • An excellent analytical brain and the ability to spot trends and come up with hypotheses that "normal" people wouldn't see.

  • Flexible hours (can discuss full-time, contract & remote options)
  • Work from home/anywhere (or from our Christchurch office)
  • Relaxed, ego-free, family-friendly work culture
  • Other cool perks.

How do you apply?

We're going to level with you here: We usually get a lot of applications and a lot of them are not very inspiring. We're looking for people with good problem solving skills, good communication skills and the willingness to go the extra mile for our customers, so here’s what you need to do.

Record a short (2-3 minute) cover letter video and upload it somewhere where we can see it. Tell us a little bit about yourself, why you think you’d be great for this role and what your responsibilities were in your current/previous role.

Email it to jobs@doubledotmedia.com (Subject: Product Manager Position) along with your CV in PDF form thanks.

About LaterPay

With LaterPay, we want to change the way people buy and sell digital content on the Internet. Why? Because we believe paying for digital content should be fast, convenient, and fair. And because we think you should be able to buy the exact piece of content you want.

We want to create a great software product which influences and changes the way people use paid content of any kind on the Internet. The usage of paid content should be as easy and convenient as going out to dinner: you are served first and pay later. We want to build a user-centric product, which makes it easy for users to buy and easy for merchants to sell. It should represent the simplest, most secure way to buy digital goods. We want to change the way people regard paid content, turning it into a great experience. We want to enable businesses to offer “paid content as a service”, convincing users of their content’s value instead of forcing them to pay before actually getting the content.

How we work

As a distributed team, we’re not too bothered by when and where you work. That said, most of us work Monday - Friday from 9ish UTC to 6ish UTC, and ideally you’d overlap heavily with that. Our current PM team is located in UTC+1 and prefers the new Jr PM to be in the same time zone.

We try to be as asynchronous as possible, but still feel that we need some “synchronicity” to work well. We care more about what you do and how you work with the rest of the team, than we do about your ability to be at a chair at a desk at 9am every day. So if you have hobbies, family, pets etc. that require you to take time out of your day? Assuming you can maintain a reasonable amount of overlap with the rest of the team, it shouldn’t be a problem.

What we’re looking for

To support our product management team, we are looking for a Junior Product Manager.
As part of the product management team within LaterPay, you will act as the interface between the market and tech team and will be supporting the team to deliver the right product and features to the market. You will make sure that the product is easy and intuitive to use, and provides a consistent and appealing user experience.

Good command of written English

This is probably the most important quality. Communication is vital, especially as a distributed team, where most tools we use don’t communicate tone or body language.
Additionally, if you happen to speak German that is great, but it’s not mandatory.

Experience and drive

You don’t need to be a Senior X or Chief Y, but you do need to be capable of taking a task and owning it.
That doesn’t mean you necessarily do all the work, but it does mean you take on responsibility for completion, and ask for help and advice as appropriate.

Specifics

You will identify market needs based on: analytics data, market research, customer support evaluations, user testing, internal and external feature requests, legal requirements.

You will support the Product Management team to: evaluate and prioritize feature requests,, specify features in our ticketing system, provide mockups/wireframes, prepare and conduct user testings, evaluate analytics data, document product decisions.

Experience with MacOS, Microsoft Office or Apple productivity tools (Keynote, Numbers) are required. Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe Illustrator, Jira, and GitHub is an advantage.

Apply

If this sounds interesting, but you’re not sure you’re quite the right fit, apply, and let us know what you bring to the table. We’re not just looking for “Business administration degree and X years of experience with Y”.

Candidate Guidance:

1- This job can be done remotely, however we prefer someone who is based in Europe, North America, or South America.

2 - This a part-time / Project based freelance role.  This is not a full-time position.

3- Please do NOT apply if you you do not have a growing list of Web SaaS product design / artifacts in your portfolio that you can share.

4-We ALREADY have a talented UX team... what we need more of are folks skilled in reading through detailed user interviews and extracting key product design requirements and then translating those into artifacts that can be used by UX and Front End Developers.

Project Brief:
We are designing a modern Web SaaS application for Enterprise customers designed to radically improve alignment, innovation, and organizational performance.  This product is NOT a task management system or project management system.. it is a system inspired by several goal setting methodologies, but is in it's own right a complete re-invention of how to foster goal alignment and achievement in large companies.  We are not building a tool for just tracking goals, but a platform for fostering rich learning  interactions designed to accelerate a companies bottom line while also helping employees succeed at work.

Our Existing Design Research
We have conducted 12-15 intense design research sessions to uncover a new approach to goal setting and alignment that overcomes the ways large companies typically organize and make decisions.

Each of these design sessions has produced documented conversations approaching 15,000-20,000 words each.  These notes informally document a wide ranging set of features and micro-interactions as well as UX and business rules that need to be captured in a more formal set of design artifacts we can share with developers.

Deliverable's Required
We seek a VERY savvy Product / BA /  System designer who both understands and is highly skilled in capturing product and system level requirements in a variety of forms including:  User Stories, Use Cases, Wire Frames, User Flows, etc.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working MAINLY with our transcripts and powerpoint deck.  From this informal documentation we want you to extract all the critical information required to develop a complete set of product design artifacts.  This will include you helping us write detailed user stories in collaboration with our UX/UI team so that our Front-End developers can work at maximum speed and effectiveness.

One of the best Technical Product Management jobs. Period.

DevFactory is one of the most exciting companies you could imagine for Technical Product Managers.

Here are a just a few reasons why:

  • Software Development Domain: Define and build products that themselves are used by developers and software experts just like you. Define products you would love to use.

  • Refine your Skills: We have a process-driven culture that not only enables your success, but teaches you what good looks based on countless iterations and improvements made to date. If you want to be one of the best at defining detailed technical requirements for teams, this is the place for you.

  • A Career Path: Candidates have a career path to increased compensation and responsibility. Grow to own entire releases and products.

  • Customer Focus: We emphasize a focus on the customer use case and invest in understanding the competitive landscape when we define products.

  • Learn and Use Disruptive Tech: Make use of the best disruptive technologies (such as AI, Machine Learning, Big Data analysis, NLP, PaaS Cloud services) from Open Source, AWS, Google, and others.

  • The CrossOver Work/Life Balance: CrossOver teams provide you with a unique work/life flexibility and the opportunity to work with a global team of top performers in their field.

Who is this Role for?

This job is for people who are deeply technical but unsatisfied with only writing code as an Individual Contributor.

Many people who enjoy this role do it for one (or more) of the following reasons

  • You have built products based on someone elses requirements and have often thought I could have defined this deliverable better

  • You have been a developer on a dev team and thought some developers make great choices and create great design. Others do it poorly because the requirements were vague. We could fix that if we had better specs

  • You have an interest in the customer who uses the product you are building. Youd like to be involved in determining *what* is built, not just *how*

  • You want to grow your career and responsibility by learning the skills needed to lead/run entire development teams

Responsibilities of the Role

As a Technical Product Manager, your core responsibility is to define the technical interface/contract between the Product Management organization (that defines product) and the Engineering organization (that delivers product). This requires the definition of clear functional requirements, important technical decisions, and acceptance criteria into a specification document that can be consumed by an engineering delivery team.

At DevFactory we create specs in chunks that can be built in roughly 1 week by an agile dev team (epics) and the dev teams themselves do their own work breakdowns into smaller assignments (tickets). We call these specs Level 3 specs, or L3s and the engineering deliverable that meets these requirements a milestone. Several milestones will typically be required to accomplish some end-to-end business or technical scenario. The description of that overall scenario and the high-level L3 plan is contained in a document called a Level 2 spec, or L2.

The primary responsibility of this role is to create L3 specs by translating the business and technical requirements described in the L2 spec into a series of L3 specs that the development team can build. You will also review engineering deliverables that correspond to L3 specs and review them to determine whether or not they meet the documented requirements.

Help Scout

Customer Success Manager

Your impact
As a Customer Success Manager, you'll push the business forward by building relationships with prospective Help Scout customers. You aren't selling so much as you are becoming a trusted advisor, a partner that will work with people to find the best product fit.

About the Role
  • As a member of the Growth Team (traditionally Marketing and Sales), you’ll help people evaluate Help Scout for their business. This will likely be a mix of people in an active trial, or on our free plan.
  • You’ll work to better qualify the thousands of inbound leads we get each month, leveraging creative approaches to email marketing, marketing automation, and one-on-one conversations. Your goal will be to help self-directed customers find their own way and help larger or more complex customers find the right person to talk to.
  • Your job doesn’t really end when the deal closes. You may find yourself training new customers in their first 45 days, or working with long-term customers to make sure they have what they need.
  • We’re hiring you to own this part of the customer experience, to take in all the perspectives you can, and then build a plan. We have years of historical data and many hypotheses to experiment with.
  • You’ll experiment with, measure and document strategies that help us increase revenue cycle effectiveness and be a critical part of improving our revenue playbook.
  • We believe nurturing current and potential customers is a team sport, which is why this role is paid a full salary based on your experience and what you would make as an inside sales rep “on plan” in another company. We have no plans for commission plans or quota targets.

Who you'll work with
  • Tim Thyne, Head of Customer Development- Tim’s spent the past year building and adapting our approach to driving revenue and building relationships with customers, with an approach that fits our values and reputation in the market.
  • Suneet Bhatt, Chief Growth Officer - Suneet’s been here since July and has been a partner to Tim in building out Customer Development at Help Scout; Suneet also manages our Content Team, Marketing Analytics, and Product Marketing.
  • Nadia Basil, Head of Product Marketing - Nadia runs Product Marketing at Help Scout and will be a go to resource and partner to you as you find and create content that will be most relevant to our customers and potential customers.

About you
  • You have a history of digging into challenges and opportunities first-hand to understand what’s going on, and then get jazzed about codifying what you’ve learned so (elements of it) can be automated and scaled.
  • You’ve operated in and around the traditional handoff between Marketing and Sales (Demand Generation, Inside Sales) and are excited to bring those two disciplines even more tightly together.
  • You can easily lose track of time geeking out with Marketing Automation (HubSpot) and Sales Automation (Salesforce) tools. Mastering this stuff can be challenging but you love it.
  • This role is exciting because you love helping people win! It energizes you to work alongside people to help them grow their business.
  • You’re curious and have a history of learning new things quickly. Your curiosity is well-suited to this part of the customer experience because you are great at listening to customers and working with them to solve business challenges.
  • You maintain a healthy disrespect for the way things are traditionally done in Enterprise/SaaS sales. You look to do things differently in order to better align motivations between teammates and customers.

About us
  • Help Scout is a remote team with employees in eleven countries (eight people in the Boston office). We optimize for excellence over geography and overcome remote challenges through transparency, trust, chat and video conferencing.
  • We’re a customer-driven company and always will be. Everything follows the customer experience, no exceptions.
  • Our company is growing and has aspirations of helping millions of people around the world. Accomplishing our goals will present countless challenges and require you to excel in every aspect of the position. It’s hard work, but the people we’re looking for love exploring and solving hard problems.
  • This is not the typical startup “rocket ship.” We’ll never compromise customers or the experience in favor of growth. Our purpose is to build a profitable company that small businesses love and sustain it. We optimize your career at Help Scout for the long term as well, so keeping a healthy work/life balance is an important priority.
  • We value diversity at Help Scout and welcome all applicants regardless of actual or perceived race, color, ethnicity, sexual identity, gender identity, gender expression, economic status, ability, disability, religious beliefs or disbeliefs, national origin, age, military service eligibility, veteran status, marital status, parental status, or caregiver status.

Benefits
  • Competitive Salary - We pay at or above market salary in most cases and evaluate a lot of research to make sure everyone is paid well. The formula we use to calculate all salaries is public to employees and is improved upon regularly.
  • Work anywhere - Work from our office in Boston or anywhere else, provided you have 4 hours of overlap with the team. We’ll even buy your home office furniture or help you pay for a co-working space.
  • Health and dental insurance - We cover you and your family's health/dental insurance 100%. If you are based in the US, we'll cover you on our Harvard Pilgrim HMO or PPO policies.
  • Long-term/Short-term Disability Insurance & Life Insurance - we cover 100% of the premiums for LT/ST Disability insurance and base Life Insurance. You also have the option to purchase supplementary life insurance through our provider.
  • International Benefit Stipend - If you’re based outside the US, you’ll receive a monthly stipend that goes towards covering medical insurance, long and short-term disability, and accountant costs.
  • Flexible vacation - Take time off when you need it, we trust you.
  • Paid parental leave, including adoption - 12 weeks if you have or adopt a baby, 4 weeks if your partner has a baby.
  • 401k with 1% match- 1% Retirement Plan matching for both US and International Employees
  • Personal development stipend - Up to $1,800 per year to improve your craft
  • Great tools - Each employee receives a Mac laptop and 27'' display (or equivalent). We’ll also purchase any of the software or hardware you need as well as high-end furniture to get your home office started
  • Complete transparency - Everyone has full access to business metrics and financial information about the company.

JOIN TESERA AND SELL WITH US

We require a uniquely talented and self motivated Account Executive to join our team at Tesera!  Each day you will connect with leads, prospects and clients to create and convert opportunities to sales, as we strive to become the  preferred consulting team for creating data driven applications and integrations in the cloud.

You will support a dynamic team of developers, designers and data scientists while having more time to pursue your passions.  We think we can help make your job easy by running an Agile product management process that our clients love, by working on a modern application stack based on Amazon Web Services (which just opened a Canadian Region), by providing  clients with differentiating User Experiences built on modern web-technology, and by adding value to application investments through expert integration and middleware.

You will work remotely, have flexible work hours and help us create meaningful and profitable projects. We pride ourselves in learning new technologies and applying that learning to improve the products we create for ourselves and our clients.

Does this sound like the job for you?

WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP

Our professional services business has largely been made up of recurring clients and referrals.  We’ve never been excellent at managing our sales pipeline, directing our marketing resources, and developing new prospects.  We are motivated to change this and we require your expertise to build and take our professional services to a larger scale.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Business to business account development, generating revenue and meeting sales quotas.
  • Managing sales cycles including developing and optimizing a sales pipeline, maintaining pursuit strategies focused on key decision makers, negotiating key deal terms and closing contractual agreements.
  • Developing and qualifying leads to drive additional sales opportunities through cold-calling, networking, and other contact methods (priority).
  • Guide prospects through demos of our approach and products over video call and in person.
  • Direct the team to provide the support materials you require to be successful.

Who are we looking for

  • 2+ years of experience in full-cycle solutions sales.
  • An understanding of selling approaches and methodologies, including value selling, target account selling, solutions selling and strategic selling.
  • Proven track record of exceeding high-volume sales targets for software solutions and services.
  • Experience selling multiple product/service lines.
  • Experience managing and closing complex sales-cycles.
  • Skilled and eloquent in writing.
  • Fanatical  about video conference / phone selling.
  • Knowledge of internet applications, data applications, and consulting services.
  • Prior experience at Internet, Consulting or SaaS companies (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of CRM and email automation tools (preferred).

WHAT WE DO:

Tesera is an emerging technology company focusing on three business lines.  Our primary business lines are as follows:

Professional Services has always been a focus for Tesera.  We help our clients implement projects in areas such as open data, data management through visualization and analysis, data science, commercial product development and geospatial solutions.  In the past year our Professional Services teams have completed a variety of projects including building the SaaS platform for an award winning energy services asset management startup, building a set of citizen science mobile monitoring apps, building a new way to share environmental monitoring data, building a sophisticated automated data quality control pipeline for the forest sector, creating a portal for biodiversity monitoring data, and delivering a series of applications to support the Fort McMurray wildfire recovery.  Helping us build and expand this core service area will be your primary responsibility.

Our second business line is in the adaption to climate change space.  Tesera has worked with a key industry associations to build a risk assessment tool that will support and assist municipalities in discovering asset vulnerabilities.  Tesera is commercializing this product which employs a spatial machine learning approach.  We break the landscape down into thousands of spatial indicators which can then be modeled to determine their influence on event outcomes such as infrastructure failures.  We have a lot of work to do here to bring this to a commercial product offering and we are very excited about doing it.

High Resolution Inventory Service  (HRIS) is our third business area.  HRIS enables our clients who manage landscapes to have a higher level of resolution and accuracy that they’ve ever had before.  HRIS combines LiDAR, colour infrared imagery, climate indices, terrain indices and ground plot data via machine learning processes to predict attributes about the landscape.  The types of information that can be generated from HRIS are far-ranging from types and quality of timber resources to locations of streams, potential wildlife habitat and amount of carbon sequestration.  The HRIS solution, creates attributes across an  entire landscape creating an inventory that has more useful attributes and is at a more detailed resolution than other approaches available today.

OUR PURPOSE & VALUES:

“We disrupt conventional thinking to expand what is possible.

We ignite change in the future we share.”

Accountability:  We hold ourselves, and each other accountable for all we do.
Communication:  We communicate openly and honestly. We listen.  Each is heard and considered.  We share feedback and express gratitude.
Community:  We contribute and lead within communities that empower and inspire us.
Design and Innovation:  We craft elegant solutions using beautiful ideas and innovation.
Fiscal:  We are responsible for our fiscal health and vitality.
Fun:  We are the spark that triggers awesome.
Health, Fitness and Balance:   Space-Time is ours to define.  We bend work to balance our lives.
Personal Development:   We are driven to learn.  We push each other to expand our horizons.
Relationships:   We build trusting relationships.
Sustainability:  We act in relentless pursuit of a sustainable future.

You've gotten good at saying no to good ideas and only focusing on the great ideas. You're comfortable setting and communicating project timelines with your immediate project teams and working to scale scope to hit deadlines.

You're willing to do and learn anything to help your team succeed. You'll be primarily working on small fluid project teams with designers, engineers, marketers, and data scientists. You don't need to be an expert in those things you but you should have a basic grasp of their roles and what they bring to the table. You'll act as the glue to fill in any skill gaps.

You design for the web. You've helped build functional web-apps before and understand the ramifications of web-app trends. You probably spend an equal amount of time with Chrome Dev Tools open as you do closed. You have likely built and deployed a basic web app using something like Heroku.

You love talking to users. Product Managers at Zapier are two-sided. One side is figuring out what we should build next. The other side is making it happen. Talking to users serves both sides and is essential to success.

You are data driven. You're comfortable with SQL queries. You understand statistical significance. You're able to use that data to improve the experience for the user and meet the goals of the business.

You love doing things efficiently. At Zapier, the work you do will have a disproportionate impact on the business. We believe in systems and processes that let us scale our impact to be larger than ourselves.

You love to set your own course with our shared set of goals. At Zapier, you'll have a weekly project meetings and then you go make things happen. You default to action.

Things You Might Do
Zapier is a startup, so you'll likely get experience on many different projects across the organization. Here are some things you'll get a taste of:
  • Talk to users and figure out what we should build next
  • Hold Zapier's technical context in your head so you can make good decisions about projects
  • Plan and execute new products and enhancements alongside design, engineering, marketing, and data science
  • Write HTML, CSS, and maybe JS to help perfect and ship a feature
  • Ship to hundreds of thousands of active users
  • Help conduct A/B tests and other experiments
  • Maintain a high level of autonomy
  • Give back to the community via open source and blog posts
  • Help customers via support to ensure they have the best experience possible
  • Experiment: this is a startup so everything can change
About Zapier
For the past five years, Zapier has been helping people across the world automate the boring and tedious parts of their job. We do that by helping everyone connect the web applications they already use and love.

We believe that there are jobs a computer is best at doing and that there are jobs a human is best at doing. We want to empower businesses to create processes and systems that let computers do what they are best at doing and let humans do what they are best at doing.
We believe that with the right tools, you can have big impact with less hassle.
We believe in small teams. Small teams are fast and nimble. Small teams mean less bureaucracy and less management and more getting things done.

We believe that credentials don't say everything. Our CTO has a finance degree. Our CEO has an engineering degree. Our CPO has a mechanical engineering degree. What you love doing is way more important than the credentials you have.
We believe in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment. All teammates at Zapier agree to a code of conduct.
