**WHAT WE DO **

The administrative profession isn’t what it used to be, and the influx of changing technologies and new responsibilities in an ever-evolving workplace has business implications beyond the front desk.

OfficeNinjas recognizes admins and workplace operators, aka “Ninjas,” for the curious, engaged, forward-thinking professionals they are. We exist to provide vital resources, educational content, vendor vetting, networking events, and industry insights to ensure they have every opportunity to lead a valued and fulfilling professional life.

**WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR **

We’re looking for a Community Manager (CM) with a distinctive voice who can champion the OfficeNinjas brand and harness the power of our global network.

The admin role is evolving, and Ninjas are leading the charge. Like all pioneers, they have big ideas and even bigger questions. The CM hears everything our community members share and eagerly responds with well-researched suggestions, a dose of encouragement, or an offer to facilitate a connection.

The ideal candidate knows how to balance their unique personality with the OfficeNinjas’ brand so that every interaction feels human and authentic. They’ve found the intersection of fun and professionalism. They live there now.

An integral member of OfficeNinjas’ fully remote team, the CM knows how to collect, synthesize, and report feedback in a way that helps our team better understand admins and anticipate their needs.

Most importantly, the person who lands this gig needs to LOVE working with people. We’re a company founded on relationships, and this job represents that. The CM must be a clear, efficient, and friendly communicator who thrives in a collaborative, remote work environment.

Feeling excited and motivated? Then you’re exactly the type of candidate we’re looking for.

**WHAT YOU DO **

Using your powers of project management, you serve as the lead contact for OfficeNinjas Think Tank, a specialized group of highly vetted Ninjas who advise our team on business development, marketing efforts, and product development.
You manage every aspect of our volunteer program, including interviewing, selecting, and training reliable event volunteers who are passionate about the OfficeNinjas community.
Through guidance, organizational support, and brand education, you nurture the OfficeNinjas Ambassadors, a motivated group of admins who help generate awareness and excitement for our content, programs, services, and events.
You do more than just moderate our social media platforms. You create spaces that are supportive and informative by encouraging conversation and providing valuable content.
Using the SOP that you create, you manage our HelpScout account, ensuring that all customer support concerns are addressed with care and efficiency.

**WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE**

25+ hours a week to consistently dedicate to OfficeNinjas (with room to increase hours)
Two years of experience in community management, preferably for a remote team
Good understanding of the business operations/administrative role (bonus if you’ve worked as a Ninja yourself).
Ability to maintain accuracy under pressure, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt quickly to rapidly shifting priorities.
A builder’s sensibility. You understand that if it doesn’t exist, it’s time to take ownership and build it with scalability in mind.
Proficiency in Asana (or similar project management tool), G Suite, and Slack.
A healthy combination of big-picture perspective and appreciation for the details.
A passion for collaboration. Your team members’ success is your success. You want everyone, yourself included, to continue to learn and grow.
An appreciation for candor. You can handle it and offer it up.
Tech savviness. You’re constantly researching new tech tools, and you think every new software system is figureoutable.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You’re always respectful but you don’t mince words, and you get to the point in as few characters as possible.
Major chops in the problem-solving category. You’re constantly thinking ahead. And when issues do pop up, they don’t greatly impact your project’s progress or outcome.
A growth mindset. You seize opportunities to learn skills outside of your job description.

**LAST WORDS**
We mentioned we appreciate candor, so here’s a bit of OfficeNinjas realness: we work hard and smart. We launch and execute new projects every 90 days, accomplishing in three months what most businesses do in a year. We’re looking for someone who can jump in the game, pick up the ball, and run with it.

The Community Manager is a long-term role, and they will be crucial to our success and growth. They’ll champion the OfficeNinjas brand and harness the power of our global network of admins. The job comes with a ton of responsibility, but an equal amount of opportunity and even more fulfillment.

Did this job description spark a little fire and give you goosebumps? If you’re excited to apply, we would love to learn more about you!

**What’s the opportunity?**

We've been around 6 years and have built a strong reputation amongst the content strategy community. Through relentless customer development we’ve identified an enormous market opportunity for Content Operations (ContentOps).

ContentOps addresses the gap that exists between content strategy and publishing platforms/traditional CMS'. Without dedicated ContentOps there is complete chaos resulting in poor content, costing organisations time, money and reputation.

We help our customers unify their people, process and content. They're now able to quickly produce and publish effective content at scale; with less headaches, less errors and better results.

Our view is that effective content is going to be prioritised in every business and organisation and well executed ContentOps will be a requirement for this to happen. We’re already seeing this in our roster of customers; from Higher Education to Healthcare, Harvard to the NHS.

**What’s the role?**

You’ll be primarily responsible for helping our existing and prospective customers understand, and get excited, by the value our Content Operations Platform offers. You’ll figure out how to open their eyes to new and better ways of working.

Day-to-day you’ll take ownership over product and feature launches, developing and executing GTM strategies for various verticals and product use-cases. You’ll work closely with our customers to develop a deep understanding of their challenges and discover new ways to tell their stories. You’ll support the sales team to ensure they have everything they need to bring new customers on board and expand existing accounts.

You’ll also help champion the development and popularisation of a new category. You’ll have ownership over your numbers and how you hit them. You’ll obsess over how to position us in the minds of our customers and finally, you’ll continuously improve yourself and support your colleagues.

**What we can offer you:**
* Remote working - we offer the opportunity to work remotely. Whether you want to join a co-working space, work from home or travel: the choice and flexibility are yours.
* Family friendly - the company is very family oriented and understands the necessary flexibility.
* Work/life balance - we work a 35 hour week and encourage downtime. It’s about doing a few things well and not burning ourselves out.
* The chance to make an impact on our business - As a small team there is a big opportunity for everyone to contribute, collaborate and make their mark.
* Fun team - Even though we work remotely, the entire team get together in London every 4 months to eat good food and have fun.
* Stock options and pensions

**What we need in return:**
* Your undivided passion, energy, focus and enthusiasm.
* A self-starter attitude with experience managing and prioritising your own workload.
* An ability to get things done efficiently (whilst maintaining quality): working at a consistent pace.
* A team-player who works as well with others as individually.
* Strong opinions, loosely held - no fear when it comes to inputting ideas and participating in discussions with the team. You must be happy to take critique, self-improve and move forward.
* An iterative approach - We focus on learning and improving our processes as we go.
* Customer focus - You should always be thinking, “What can I be doing to deliver value to our customers?”
* Leave your ego at the door. We’ve got a very collaborative, blame-free culture with a shared focus on what’s best for the company.

Requirements

**How to apply** We’d love to see some examples of your work, your blog (if you have one) and a cover letter with answers to the following questions: * Why do you want to work at GatherContent? * Can you share a piece of work that you’re proud of, or that you think represents an important part of your philosophy? * Can you tell us about a hard problem you’ve had to solve, and how you went about solving it? * Can you give us a brief description of your background? Also, please include the word ‘blueberry’ in your cover letter to show that you’ve read the job role (helps us weed out time wasters!). We look forward to seeing your application. **What happens next?** We review all of the applications, screen for experience, attention to detail and general suitability. Applicants who are successful will go through a remote/online values interview with two of our team members. If successful, the next step is a remote/online skills interview. Applicants who make it through these stages meet with our Marketing Director in person (in London or Brighton). Travel and expenses will be covered. Finally, you will be given a paid homework assignment to complete. We will then be in touch to let you know if you are successful. **About us** GatherContent is a Content Operations Platform that helps teams produce effective content at scale. Customers use our platform to manage the people and process, for producing content that meets user and business needs. We work with leading digital agencies, higher education institutions, governments, non-profits, membership organisations and many enterprise customers. Some of our customers include Digitas LBI, Harvard University, The Australian Government and Intel. We launched in 2012 and now help thousands of customers, all over the world. Our team is fully remote, working from all over the UK.

Job Description

We are looking for Devops specialists to help us build and maintain our growing stack. At Findify, we make extensive use of data-collection, processing and machine learning algorithms to help our merchants provide better search and recommendations to their customers. You would be responsible for building and improving the current infrastructure while setting up automatic processes to make the stack more reliable.

Our tech stack

We always strive to use the most suitable tool for the job, so our stack is constantly evolving. Currently, our backend is written mostly in Scala and Node.js. We use Scala for data processing and to power our machine learning algorithms. Node is used as a web framework to facilitate the interaction with our customers via various APIs. We make extensive use of AWS, and use any component we find suitable within our architecture, so we can focus on building our proprietary tech. We have more than 150 servers, we are using different types of databases, we deploy daily and have several testing pipelines in place. We try to use managed services as much as we can to lower the maintenance costs. We like to embrace new technologies and processes that are helping our engineers be more productive!

We’re not afraid to challenge our choices, we love open source and above all, we’re a product driven company so technology is at the core of everything we do. You can check out our full stack on StackShare.

Our development culture

We are a small team that moves fast and iterates. We run weekly sprints, code reviews, testing, and once your code is submitted it gets pushed to production through our continuous deployment infrastructure (Jenkins). We put a lot of emphasis on code style, cleanliness and robustness. We care about monitoring, alerting and security. You will get to work with amazing engineers.

What you can expect from us:

You’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact on the product, company vision and culture. You will get to work with the latest technologies out there, without being bound to any legacy. We will never limit your creativity, never shut down ideas before testing them with customers and we will never be boring! it's going to be an exciting ride!

If this sounds like a company you’d love be a part of building, and you’ve got the skill set, please get in touch with us!

We’d love to hear from you!

Skills and requirements

What we're looking for:

The most important thing we are looking for in a candidate is proven passion for building maintainable blocks and problem solving: a Github/Stackoverflow account for an automated library you built, an interesting project you can share, or a blog you write will go a long way.

We are a distributed team, so you can work from anywhere you want! Located in Dublin? A huge plus.

It’s really important to us that you have the ability to adapt to the company’s work processes using the agile-scrum methodology, and using tools such as Jira and Slack. Not only because of our remote working culture, but even more so because of this, you need to be really awesome at communicating, and to be organized and self-driven.

Oh, and you need to want to have fun :)

Your responsibilities:

* Maintain the current technical stack

* Improve the monitoring capabilities (currently based on Grafana/InfluxDB, Pagerduty)

* Help our applications become more reliable, maintainable and scalable.

The basics:

* Experience with Docker

* Experience with Kubernetes (cluster administration, monitoring, auto-scaling and advanced settings)

* 2-3 years of experience supporting systems running on AWS, using technologies such as VPC, Subnets, EC2, S3, Route53, Kinesis, Cloudwatch.

* Experience setting up applications monitoring (telemetry, alerting, reporting)

* CI/CD Knowledge (Jenkins is a +)

* Experience with multi-zone deployment / blue-green deployment

* Git.

* Experience writing automation scripts (Bash/Python/other)

* Experience with a configuration management tool like Ansible or Terraform

Beyond the basics:

* Usage of AWS Spot instances

* Experience with multi-region deployment setup

* Experience with Zookeeper, Clickhouse, Kafka, Consul or/and Cassandra

* Distributed systems background

More about WalletHub

More specifically, we are harnessing the power of data analytics and artificial intelligence to build the brain of a smart financial advisor, whose services we’re offering to everyone for free. The WalletHub brain enables users to make better financial decisions in a fraction of the time with three unique features:

1) Customized Credit-Improvement Tips: WalletHub identifies improvement opportunities and guides you through the necessary corrections.

2) Personalized Money-Saving Advice: WalletHub’s savings brain constantly scours the market for load-lightening opportunities, bringing you only the best deals.

More about WalletHub

WalletHub is a high-growth fintech company based in Washington, D.C. that is looking for talented, hard-working individuals to help us reshape personal finance.

3) Wallet Surveillance: Personal finance isn’t as scary with 24/7 credit monitoring providing backup, notifying you of important credit-report changes.

In addition to the valuable intelligence the brain provides, WalletHub is the first and only service to offer free credit scores and full credit reports that are updated on a daily basis absent of user interaction, rather than weekly or monthly and only when a user logs in. Some other services hang their hats on free credit scores and reports, yet they’re still inferior to what WalletHub considers minor pieces to a much larger puzzle.

This week

**DESCRIPTION**

Before you start reading, keep in mind that the aim of this job ad is to give you a feel for what it’s like to work at Catapult. There’s lots of research which suggests people often don’t apply because of so-called “requirements” in a job description. If you’re an experienced engineer, like the sound of working here and see something you’re not an expert in yet, that’s great, apply and you can learn it here!

What you’re getting yourself in for

Our mission is to build the worlds best part time job. We spend our time thinking about how to give a global workforce complete control of their own work life while completely automating the hundreds of thousands of man hours which would normally be required to manage people on this scale.

We do this through React Native based iOS and Android applications, React based web applications, a mixture of Ruby/ Rails and Phoenix/ Elixir on the backend and Rest API’s to communicate with machine learning services from our data science team.

Businesses ranging from the largest high-street retailers to five star hotels and and independent coffee boutiques rely on Catapult as their casual workforce. If you’ve spent time in London, you’ve probably been served by a Catapult waiter or sales assistant without even realising it!

Our company values https://writing.joincatapult.com/our-values/ are really important to us and influence every facet of how we work together.

Things we’ve been working on recently

No two days are ever the same in a startup, but to give you a flavour of what we’ve been up to recently:

Building a stand-alone signup service to test different approaches to user on-boarding. We took this as an opportunity to test out Phoenix + GraphQL. We were so impressed with the productivity boost we’re also now incorporating GraphQL into our primary Rails application
Using Kubernetes to deploy standalone environments for our feature branches, complete with anonymised production data
Re-thinking how we test Javascript and what the line should be between unit tests and acceptance tests
About the role

We’ve been growing rapidly over the last three years and as we start our international roll out, we’re looking for ambitious engineers to help us build the future of work. Our engineering principles https://writing.joincatapult.com/engineering-principles/ give a good feel for how we work together and what we value.

You’ll be working joining out remote team so working from anywhere in Europe is fine! We work in small cross-functional pods of developers who focus on a particular product area and encourage people to rotate across teams.

**REQUIREMENTS**

We've found that the best developers are outliers so these are guidelines rather than firm requirements. If you're passionate about building great software, finding the best tools for the job and learning new skills, we'd like to hear from you!

About You

* Solid experience developing web or mobile applications commercially
* You really buy into the importance of getting things into the hands of a user quickly and then iterating
* You actively think about when to incur technical debt and when to pay it back
* You like to explore new technologies and have a keen eye for when something new can add real business value
* Bonus points for Rails, React, Phoenix or GraphQL

**BENEFITS**

As well as being a part of a well funded startup at one of the most exciting phases of it’s growth, you’ll get:

* Competitive salary + stock options
* A strong approach to professional development and mentorship, everyone has a dedicated L&D budget for books, training, conferences and the like
* Product retreats at least every two months where the whole team either comes to London or goes somewhere warm (the next one's in Lisbon!), looks back on how we can improve and then spends a week together hacking on new ideas and exploring new technologies
* Regular social events & the opportunity to travel to our other offices
* Company Macbook Pro which you’re free to take home
* A flexible work environment focused on output not hours
* 25 days holiday + bank holidays

We are a small company but very experienced in developing applications for performance testing and monitoring. We started out as a software development consulting company way back in 2000, developing performance test and measurement software for customers such as Nasdaq and the European space agency. We wrote both hardcore, low-level networking software and high-level web user interfaces and became quite good at both of those things. We pride ourselves on understanding the lower levels of a networked application while at the same time realizing how incredibly important UX is. In 2009 we took the step and launched loadimpact.com, becoming a product company rather than a consulting company, and we have never looked back.

Recruiting is ongoing. We will respond to your application immediately. If you don’t have a CV ready, don’t create one, send us a link to your Github/LinkedIn with a few sentences about yourself.

More about WalletHub

WalletHub is a high-growth fintech company based in Washington, D.C. that is looking for talented, hard-working individuals to help us reshape personal finance. 1) Customized Credit-Improvement Tips: WalletHub identifies improvement opportunities and guides you through the necessary corrections.

**Our Mission**

In 2017, one billion immigrants worldwide sent over $600 billion home to family and friends, dwarfing foreign governmental aid. In the age of cheap, quick transfers through services like Paypal and Venmo, these people are trekking to stores to pay fees averaging over 7% for transfers that typically take 24 hours or more.

Wave's mission is to change that by making sending money anywhere in the world easy and affordable. Since 2014, our app has allowed Africans in the US, the UK, and Canada to send money instantly to mobile money wallets in Kenya, Uganda, & Tanzania, saving our users over 70% relative to Western Union and MoneyGram.

We recently launched remittances to Ghana, where we're growing quickly, and are looking to rapidly expand throughout Africa in the next year. That's where you come in...

**How you'll help us achieve it**

“You should take extraordinary measures not just to acquire users, but also to make them happy” - Paul Graham

Delighting our users is a core value at Wave. Excellent customer support is essential to this, but difficult to scale. We're looking for someone with experience running and scaling a customer service team so that we continue to wow our users as we expand to new markets.

**Our company**

* We are a distributed group of six engineers and twelve operations team members spread across three continents who are deeply passionate about our mission.
* Each quarter, we go on a five-day retreat together. In 2018, we've been to Vancouver, Lisbon and Austin.
* We play in bands, teach dance classes, run Vipassana retreats, played semi-pro basketball, and built tools to help Doctors' Without Borders respond to the Ebola crisis.
* We’re backed by top Silicon Valley venture capital firms and investors.

Responsibilities

**You might be a good fit if ** * You have a high-level of proficiency in both English and French. * You've had experience leading and scaling customer service teams. * You feed off interacting with people and getting the best out of them. * You possess an analytical mind and enjoy looking at data to both track trends and develop your team. * You're passionate about Wave's mission, and excited to do what needs to be done to reach our customer experience goals.

Requirements

If interested, please email your resume to Wave's Head of Growth, Taryn McKenzie-Mohr, at taryn@wave.com. Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis. Please note we will only be able to respond to candidates with whom we want to move forward in the interview process. Wave is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

Location: You can be based anywhere in, or between, CST and GMT+2 timezones.

How do you apply?

**In your first few months, you'll: **

* Be responsible for seeing that our users receive the best possible experience when they contact us via phone, text or email. We get over 15,000 calls and texts each month!.
* Grow, train, and evaluate our English-speaking Support Team, made up of 17+ hourly employees.
* Turn your team into a feedback mechanism to help us improve both our internal and external product at an ever faster rate.
* Build a French-speaking support team sourced out of Senegal to service our upcoming France to Senegal corridor.
* Work with our Head of User Experience and Risk Support Manager to set metrics-based performance goals for your team. You'll then craft processes and feedback loops to help your team achieve these.
* Create and perpetuate a Support Team culture centered on empathy for and empowerment of our users and transparent and constructive collaboration within the team.

About Your team

O’Reilly Media’s Platform Engineering team supports O’Reilly’s premier training service, which is used by technologists, managers, and designers around the world to hone their skills and improve their craft. We are made of many small teams that are broadly distributed across the US, featuring tightly collaborative groups of developers, designers, and product managers constantly encouraging each other to deliver work that instills pride and fulfillment.

Our developers are organized into a network of small teams with embedded product managers, designers, and front-end specialists focused on specific functional areas.  We believe deeply in automated testing, code review, and iterative improvement. We are in the midst of a transition from a monolithic web application to a microservices ecosystem, and welcome individuals who’ve made that journey before or are interested in starting it with us.

Our team is located in the United States. We happily support a variety of employees who connect remotely from the American South, the Pacific Northwest, New England, and the Midwest, as well as those who come into our offices in Boston or Sebastopol, CA but we cannot offer full time employment to those who live and operate outside of the United States.

About the Job

Our backend engineers are focused on building a diverse family of scalable and robust micro-services, aimed at a variety of educational audiences.  Software engineers work in two week sprints, maintaining a balance between building new features and maintaining older ones. New features are designed in collaboration with product managers and other teammates. Engineers exchange code reviews with other team members, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and assist QA and Ops in troubleshooting product issues.

Our primary backend platform is based on Python and Django and is supported by PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, and Solr. We also utilize Ruby on Rails in some key applications. Many of our applications and services are dockerized and deployed into Kubernetes clusters by Jenkins. While your focus will be on backend work, sometimes you will be called upon to make changes to our front-end codebase, which is based on Javascript (ES6), React, and Redux.

About You

We are interested in people who have experience building and supporting web applications with a diverse and engaged user base.  We desire candidates who work comfortably in an agile environment and with collaborators who are distributed across multiple time zones.  We value colleagues who are helpful, respectful, humble, and always willing to do what’s best for our users. We desire developers who treat automated tests as essential, and believe that code reviews are a crucial path of learning and of sharing knowledge. The women and men of our platform team have taken many traditional and nontraditional paths to the developer profession, and we welcome diverse teams that are bound together by a mutual love of learning.

At Elastic, we have a simple goal: to solve the world's data problems with products that delight and inspire. Elastic is the leading software provider for making structured and unstructured data usable in real time for search, logging, security and analytics use cases. Since its initial release in 2012, Elastic's products have achieved more than 100 million cumulative downloads. Today thousands of organizations like Cisco, eBay, Dell, Goldman Sachs, Groupon, HP, Microsoft, Netflix, NY Times, Uber, Verizon, Yelp, and Wikipedia use the Elastic Stack, X-Pack, and Elastic Cloud to power critical systems that drive new revenue opportunities and massive cost savings. We believe that diversity drives our vibe. We unite Elasticians across 30+ countries into one coherent team, while the broader community spans across over 100 countries.

Engineering Philosophy

Engineering a highly complex distributed system that is easy to operate via elegantly designed APIs is a non-trivial effort. It requires solid software development skills, and more importantly, a sharp mind and the ability to think like a user. We also care deeply about giving you full ownership of what you’re working on. Our company fundamentally believes great minds achieve greatness when they are set free and are surrounded and challenged by their peers, which is clearly visible in our organization. At Elastic, we effectively don’t have a hierarchy to speak of. We feel that anyone needs to be in the position to comment on truly anything, regardless of his or her role within the company.

We recently joined forces with a new team, Elastic Code Search and we are now looking to bring on board an experienced Software Engineer to join our globally distributed team.

What is Elastic Code Search?

Elastic Code Search is a IDE-like semantic code search solution built on top of the Elastic Stack. It helps development teams to search, navigate and collaborate on large code bases more efficiently. Known previously as insight.io, the product has been used and loved by tens of thousands of developers and received 5 star review on chrome store. YOU will be a founding member of Elastic Code Search team and a shaper of the Elastic Code Search product.

About The Role

The Software Engineer for Program Analysis will lead our effort to build standardized and open sourced language service that provides code intelligence for both static and dynamic languages. This is the core component of Elastic Code Search, powering core features such as jump to definition, find references and semantic aware search. You’ll also help pushing code intelligence to new frontiers such as integration with logging, APM, etc.

About you

* 5+ year of professional software engineering experience

* Previous work or open source experience on projects like IDE, compiler or static analysis software

* Solid knowledge of compiler and static analysis

* A Computer Science degree or comparable experience

* Passionate about developer productivity

Nice to have

* Experience with TypeScript

* Deep understanding of build system

* Experience with large-scale data store such as Elasticsearch

* Related research experience

Additional Information

We're looking to hire team members invested in realizing the goal of making real-time data exploration easy and available to anyone. As a distributed company, we believe that diversity drives our vibe! Whether you're looking to launch a new career or grow an existing one, Elastic is the type of company where you can balance great work with great life.

* Competitive pay based on the work you do here and not your previous salary

* Stock options

* Global minimum of 16 weeks of paid in full parental leave (moms & dads)

* Generous vacation time and one week of volunteer time off

* Your age is only a number. It doesn't matter if you're just out of college or your children are; we need you for what you can do.
