Why Thanx?
Americans spend more than $5 trillion on restaurants, retail, and services each year. Nearly 90% of those transactions happen in a real-world store. Data is king and online it powers personalized customer experiences and product recommendations. Offline, however, it’s still 1999. Brands are blind to their customers, causing them to spend more and more money on “megaphone” marketing with the same message to everyone. The result is an ever-increasing wave of generic spam that makes it hard for consumers to build deeper, data-driven relationships with their favorite brands. No wonder brick-and-mortar stores are being left behind.
Thanx is fundamentally changing that. As the CRM for offline merchants, Thanx personalizes every interaction between a merchant and their best customers, resulting in measurable increases in revenue for merchants and far greater personalization for consumers. How?
* Through proprietary partnerships with credit card networks (e.g. Visa), Thanx can reward consumers for their purchases and deliver highly-customized promotions to get them to return
* Through our interactive dashboard, Thanx makes even the smallest marketing team a data-science driven expert in personalization, delivering the right message to the right customer at the right time through the right channel.
* And by measuring our success based on revenue generated (not opens and clicks of emails) Thanx is committed to proving that we are actually making an impact for the brands we work with.
Think of us as Salesforce meets Google Adwords for offline retail. Thanx is backed by some of the best investors in the world — Sequoia Capital, Icon Ventures, and Andy Rachleff (CEO Wealthfront, cofounder Benchmark Capital), to name a few.
Thanx Engineering
Yes, we have an app you can download. But that represents no more than 3% of our codebase. The power of Thanx is in the data-driven marketing intelligence that powers merchant-to-consumer interactions — we don’t show that stuff off publicly, but here’s what it looks like:
* Team: early engineers at AWS, Cloudera, Climate, Zenefits, Okta. Experience from successful product companies like Disney, Google, and Facebook. A small but elite team that is ready to grow.
* Growth: 10x YOY data growth; $200M+ delivered to merchants; 200% team growth; modern, rapidly-evolving platform -— adopted Golang, Elasticsearch, NLP, React, React Native, GraphQL, and added 5+ new microservices, all in the last 12 months.
* Culture: data-driven decision-making, risk-taking, no hierarchy, collaboration & shared responsibility, testing and continuous improvement. As a remote-friendly team, we have flexible work hours. We take time off as needed. We work and play hard — be warned when it comes to Mario Kart, we are super competitive!
Opportunity
* You could be our 8th engineer (or 9th-16th too — yeah, we’re really scaling now)
* We build the team as a team — once you join, you have equal say in how we evolve.
* Connect millions of offline merchants with billions of customers worldwide
* It’s still early. Growth opportunities include leading teams, being involved in product ideation, design, architecting systems, helping shape engineering, and company culture. And top-notch equity.
Technologies We Use
* Ruby on Rails, React, React Native, Swift, Objective-C, Java, Kotlin, Golang, Elasticsearch, MySQL, Postgres, AWS, Heroku, Terraform, Docker

At SUSE we're building the next-generation container orchestration platform based on Kubernetes, and are looking for a manager to lead one of our EMEA based development teams..
Specifically, we are a team working to make the SUSE Container as a Service Platform the most easy to use and administer Kubernetes distribution out there. To achieve this, we make use of many open source projects, including Kubernetes, Salt, Docker, Ruby-on-Rails and more. This is an outstanding opportunity to build highly available, microservice based distributed systems utilizing some of the latest cuttingedge container technologies.
At SUSE, we're strongly committed to open source and we contribute to numerous free and open projects and initiatives. We embrace and believe in the open source innovation model and the open source business model. As a team, we're constantly finding new ways to improve ourselves. One way we do this is by hosting regular FOSS-themed “hack weeks,” where everyone (and we mean it, Presidents and VPs on down are included) are encouraged to work on any project of their choosing, either individually or as a team. We pride ourselves on our communication and teamwork – we're all in this together!

* Work closely with the SUSE recruiting team to hire high potential candidates from diverse backgrounds.
* Work with your engineers and/or product managers to maintain a prioritized backlog and create short term and long term goals.
* Own your team’s deliverables and ensure we continue to ship scalable, highly-available products that delight our customers.
* Provide detailed technical input into team member designs.
* Utilize your diverse technical background to guide the team’s technical direction.
* Contribute directly to the team’s technical output: design, code, test plans.
* Evangelize new technologies, solutions and best practices both within and outside your direct team.

More about WalletHub
WalletHub is a high-growth fintech company based in Washington, D.C. that is looking for talented, hard-working individuals to help us reshape personal finance. More specifically, we are harnessing the power of data analytics and artificial intelligence to build the brain of a smart financial advisor, whose services we’re offering to everyone for free. The WalletHub brain enables users to make better financial decisions in a fraction of the time with three unique features:
1) Customized Credit-Improvement Tips: WalletHub identifies improvement opportunities and guides you through the necessary corrections.
2) Personalized Money-Saving Advice: WalletHub’s savings brain constantly scours the market for load-lightening opportunities, bringing you only the best deals.
3) Wallet Surveillance: Personal finance isn’t as scary with 24/7 credit monitoring providing backup, notifying you of important credit-report changes.
In addition to the valuable intelligence the brain provides, WalletHub is the first and only service to offer free credit scores and full credit reports that are updated on a daily basis absent of user interaction, rather than weekly or monthly and only when a user logs in. Some other services hang their hats on free credit scores and reports, yet they’re still inferior to what WalletHub considers minor pieces to a much larger puzzle.

We are looking for an experienced UI/UX practitioner to help us scope and design our next generation contract drafting platform. This role would be primarily to design interfaces for product features that enable lawyers to draft contracts faster.
Essentially the perfect candidate is someone who can take a concept and turn it into a functional and beautiful working mock up, using consultation with customers, consideration of the broad vision, and artistic license to achieve the goal.
This role is perfect for someone who has a technical streak - the applicant will use QML (which is based on JavaScript) to build an interactive interface. The finished mockup will be tested with customers, and if fitting, will go to the developers who will put the real backend behind it and it will make its way into our main product, Prose (tryprose.com).

You are a passionate, which is the most important, software engineer with several years of experience crafting software, it is better :), but if you feel that you have the potential, don't hesitate, and with:
- broad experience in back-end development, HTTP and APIs
- preferably, some experiences with Go, knowledge of distributed systems and simplicity, familiar with the UNIX philosophy, database such as MySQL, swagger ...
- A big + would be that you understand or you have worked as a DevOps as we build a DevOps platform.
What is also important is that we are looking for more than just a developer. We are looking for a person who can build with us new features, can bring some new ideas to what could be a great DevOps platform to build a bridge between Dev & Ops & tools.
We work on empowering people so we don't have a full-time product manager due to our culture.
You are of course a team player and know how to work in remote even if you can work at Cycloid office in Paris if you live in IDF. You can decide to work on remote or co-working place if you are located in Europe, we only hire people located in Europe to avoid timezone issue and we don't accept relocation. All the organisation are in an asynchronous manner. We donβt use emails, only Github, Slack, Trello and Hangout.
You have excellent written and oral communication skills in English, another language would be a plus.

We just launched a new product (https://mixedinkey.com/captain-plugins) and got hundreds of feature requests. We want you to build the next generations of this software with us. Watch the video to see what it does
Get to know us:
1. Our team is global, and everyone works remotely
Our team lives all over the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Russia, Netherlands, and Serbia. We have 12 permanent team members, and another 12 people who help out with smaller tasks. You can work remotely from anywhere in the world as long as you're available during the day (EST time) for collaboration over Slack
2. We hire great developers and have a long track record of success
* The company was started by a developer, so he can read your code and help you solve problems
* The first Mac developer who joined the team 12 years ago is still on the team, working on new products every day
* We never outsourced our software development to other companies. We own and maintain 100% of our source code, so we know it inside out and can help you learn it faster
* We've written 30+ codebases with just 2-3 developers on each one. We work in small teams (1-3 developers, 1 QA, 1 designer on each task)
* You will have a healthy live-work balance. We don't use crunch time
* Our team is kind and talented. Our developers always collaborate well with each other
* We prioritize quality because we're in it for the long term
3. You'll learn a lot from this job
Our software is more complex than most products. You'll learn a lot from working on it.
Your teammates are friendly, talented and polite. If you're looking for collaborators and mentors, you'll find them.
4. Our goal is to teach our fans how to compose great music
We launched our new product called Captain Plugins. Magazine press and our fans loved it, so we have a wish list of hundreds of feature requests and ideas on what to build next. That is why we're hiring -- we have a lot of interesting work
Here's the YouTube promo showing how the plugin works.
One of the best testimonials we've gotten is that "These plugins close the door on the past." They are a brand-new way to write music and create songs from scratch.
5. Skills & requirements
1) A very solid understanding of Objective-C
2) Some knowledge of Swift
3) Optional, but nice to have: C++ knowledge, so you can integrate audio engines with new front-ends written in Obj-C
4) Any experience in CoreAudio and/or AVFoundation would be a big plus
5) Doing something hard - like 3D rendering, or OS-level stuff, or anything else that goes beyond making basic iOS apps
6) Knowledge of music and music theory is helpful but not required
7) Natural curiosity for how things work
8) Taking a lot of initiative. This is part of the job requirement - we hire people who take initiative
9) Desire to work from home. You can work 4 days a week (Tuesday-Friday, or Monday-Thursday), or 5 days a week depending on your preference. We don't hire for less than 32 hours per week
Send us an email
We're not a big anonymous corporation, we're a small team of developers who love making music tools. If you want to join us, send us an email at the address below. Show us your work.

We're looking for an engineer with React Native and React experience to join Overloop. There may be some international travel. We are a close-knit, small team, committed to quality code, processes that work, honesty and seeing things through to completion. A typical working day will involve a 20 minute catch up call to kick off the day, reviewing screen mock-ups and/or bug reports, coding, discussing over Slack and Google Hangout, creating a github PR, getting the PR reviewed and seeing your code get to production to make a difference for our clients.
When we meet up a typical day is pretty similar, but in great locations (previously Milan, Budapest, Barcelona) and with the addition of breakfast, lunch and dinner in cafes and restaurants and face time instead of slack and Hangouts.
We mostly use react, node.js and python but are always open to new ideas.
Must have:
React and/or React Native
Nice to have:
Node.js, Python, MySQL, Computer Science degree

Junior Data Analyst
Ideally located in Eastern Canada or USA (e.g. New York, Boston, Toronto or Montreal)
At Snowplow we are on a mission to empower people to use data to differentiate: by providing technology that gives them control of their data, and services that enable them to do amazing things with that control. As part of that effort, we're changing the way that people do digital analytics: moving companies away from having one-size-fits-all vendors like Google Analytics and Adobe dictate what should be done with their data, and enabling them to collect and own their data themselves, so they can decide:
* What data they want to collect.
* What questions they want to ask of that data.
* How they want to answer those question. (What analyses techniques to employ, what tools to use to execute those analyses.)
* How they want to action the insight developed.
We're looking for curiously brilliant individuals to join our Sales & Implementation Engineering team.
What the role entails:
The Sales & Implementation Engineering team at Snowplow helps companies take control of their data, enabling them to solve problems that previously were intractable and identify opportunities that previously were not visible.
As a member of the Sales & Implementation Engineering team, you will:
* help our clients understand what data needs to be captured, advise them on how to best structure it, and help them implement the tracking;
* work with our clients to take their Snowplow data and use it to build insights and design and build data driven products;
* train our clients in our methodology and approach, including how to best use the different tools in the Snowplow arsenal;
* write blog posts and guides to help the broader Snowplow and Digital Analytics communities;
You'll learn how to:
* set up and run event data pipelines;
* best structure data so it can easily be used for analysis and real-time decisioning;
* architect data models (both relational and non-relational) and implement them in SQL and Spark;
* access the data in databases (Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, neo4J, ...) and real-time (Elasticsearch, Kinesis, Lambda, ...);
* use modern data analysis tools (Python, Spark, ...)
* set up and use BI tools (Redash, Metabase, Superset, Looker, Tableau, ...);
* use data to solve actual business problems;
* and much more...
You'll get an on-the-job training in digital analytics and an opportunity to work with some of the most data-sophisticated companies in the world. Snowplow is at the cutting edge of how digital analytics and this role is opportunity help us shape how the industry is changing
What we are looking for in a candidate:
* You love working with data and are excited to learn new tools and technologies.
* You're self-motivated and prefer to learn by doing, failing, and trying again (often with minimal direction).
* You're a clear thinker who is comfortable explaining her or his thinking, discussing and challenging different approaches, and working collaboratively and creatively to identify new approaches.
* You're a good communicator. You need to be able to work directly with data analysts, data scientists, engineers, product managers, marketers, and management–both at the client and internally at Snowplow. Being able to communicate with clarity and precision, and being responsive to feedback, is as important as your technical ability.
* You have a strong analytical background (BSc or MSc in Maths, Engineering, Economics, Philosophy, ...).
* You have strong technical skills. You need to be proficient at performing data analysis in spreadsheets or any kind of programmatic analysis tool. Prior experience with SQL or any programming language is valuable but not necessary.
* You're interested in how businesses operate. You'll be working with data to solve actual business problems our clients have.
* You have a mature attitude to security, documentation and process. Our clients trust us with their data. This is a huge responsibility and informs everything we do.
* You are able and willing to travel for work (up to 25% of the time).
What you’ll get in return:
* A competitive package based on experience, including share options
* 23 days of holiday a year (plus bank holidays)
* Freedom to work wherever suits you best (long-term residency will need to be discussed with the team)
* Two fantastic company Away-Weeks in a different European city each year (next one is Madrid in November 2018)
* Work alongside a supportive and talented team with the opportunity to work on cutting edge technology and challenging problems
* Grow and develop in a fast-moving, collaborative organisation
* Improve your coding skills with our Software Development Guild
If you come and visit us in London:
* Convenient location in central London (Shoreditch)
* Continuous supply of Pact coffee
* Enjoy fun events in and around London organised by our Cultural Work Committee

About the role
Are you the QA engineer to help us implement a robust QA process for our open source platforms developed for non-profit organisations? We like to build stuff… sometimes complicated stuff… and sometimes it breaks! So we’re looking for a confident and ambitious Senior QA Test Engineer to join our distributed team.
We do things a little differently, basing all our solutions on open source products, having flexible working hours and real team mentality. Our work covers web design, CRM, app development and branding for Charities and non-profit organisations across the country. Our clients include Charities such as Wikimedia and Farm Africa, galleries such as the Photographers Gallery and Craft Central but also companies, trade associations and government bodies. We are also developing several open source products that are used by non-profit organisations worldwide and the role will be uniquely rewarding as you will have the opportunity to influence and support these valuable projects. The ideal candidate will be an experienced QA engineer who has worked on many complex web applications in the past.
The role will involve a mixture of writing and executing manual test scripts, feeding back to developers on bugs or issues noted. There may also be some future work on automation testing although the primary focus for this role will be manual testing. The ideal candidate would have some existing CRM and CMS experience (ideally Drupal), be an expert in developing comprehensive test plans and submitting bug reports. SQL knowledge and the ability to setup a basic development environment with Git would be a major advantage but are not essential for the role. What we're looking for is someone who can grasp concepts quickly, has great attention to detail, and loves picking holes in (other people’s!) logic. In short, we’re a team of self confessed geeks who love tinkering and tweaking until something is just right, and we’re looking for someone who thinks and acts like us to join our growing team.
Please note that this is a remote contractor position.
The ideal candidate will have:
* 5+ years experience developing test plans for complex web applications
* Experience with implementing solid testing methodologies and processes within an existing organisation
* SQL skills a plus
* Basic git skills and an understanding of git workflows a plus
* A keen interest in developing open source technologies for non-profit organisations

About the role
We like to build stuff… sometimes complicated stuff… for Art Galleries, Non-Profits and Charities.
We’re an innovative bootstrapped startup based in London in the UK. We've grown to over 30 staff in the past 2 years based solely on the quality of the work we’ve been producing for our clients and we’re on the lookout for a talented Senior Drupal/PHP Engineer to join our team.
We do things a little differently, basing all our solutions on open source products, our work covers web design, app development and branding for Charities and non-profit organisations across the country. Our clients include Charities such as Wikimedia and Farm Africa, galleries such as the Photographers Gallery and Craft Central but we've got a long client list that includes other companies, trade associations and government bodies making us a rich and rewarding place to work.
We are an established and growing Drupal agency, working on many exciting and challenging projects. Most of our solutions are based on Drupal and a widely used CRM module known as CiviCRM that integrates well to the CMS. The combination of the two platforms adds an extra layer of complexity to our work and will give you exposure to other technologies then standard Drupal and a chance to further develop your skills.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 4+ Years Drupal experience
- Expert knowledge of configuring and building Drupal 7 sites
- Demonstrable experience of having contributed to the Drupal community
- Strong Git experience (you know your submodules from your subtrees!) and knowledge of working with Drupal in a team environment (i.e. using features).
- Applicable Acquia certification a bonus
- Experience writing PHP unit tests for Drupal
- Object oriented PHP skills (and/or experience with Drupal 8)
- Experience with CiviCRM or working with CRM's in general
What were looking for is someone who can grasp concepts quickly, has great attention to detail, and most importantly loves a tech challenge. In short, we’re a young team of self confessed geeks who love tinkering and tweaking until something is just right and are looking for someone who thinks and acts like us. If you're interested in the role, please send your CV through to us with a short covering letter explaining what got you interested and why you think you will fit in.

About the role
We like to build stuff… sometimes complicated stuff… for Non-Profits, Charities and Art Galleries.
We are on the lookout for a confident and ambitious Junior Devops / SysAdmin to join our fast growing startup to help us automate our development processes and build out our SaaS product. We do things a little differently, basing all our solutions on open source products. We offer a great work-life balance with flexible working hours and a real team mentality. Our work covers web design, app development and branding for charities and non-profit organisations across the UK. Our clients include charities such as Wikimedia and Farm Africa, art galleries such as the Photographers Gallery and Craft Central as well as companies, trade associations and government bodies. Our primary focus is the Drupal and CiviCRM platforms, but someone with a wide range of interests would be favourable.
We are looking for someone to join the team as we work towards automation of our infrastructure, helping everything to run like clockwork. You’ll be:
* Deploying, managing and maintaining fault-tolerant systems on AWS.
* Monitoring and troubleshooting a multitude of Drupal/CiviCRM sites.
* Taking ownership of issues, including collaboration with the rest of the team.
* Monitoring alerts for OS, storage, application and infrastructure issues to keep track of problems proactively.
* Actively mentoring and assisting in the technical development of non-technical staff and developers.
* Writing scripts to simplify developer tasks such as cloning client sites to local environments.
* Keeping technical documentation up to date.
Skills and requirements
Key skills we are looking for:
* Excellent Linux administration skills.
* PHP web server experience (NGINX preferable, but Apache useful).
* Some database administration experience (Mysql or equivalent).
* Experience with cloud technologies, AWS.
* Good Git skills (eg., comfortable preparing release branches).
* Previous PHP deployment automation is desirable.
* Strong collaboration, written and verbal skills.
* Must love creating awesome documentation!
Nice to have:
* Previous experience with CI/DevOps tools and platforms (i.e., Ansible, Jenkins, Chef, Puppet,) is considered an advantage.
* Some experience/knowledge in monitoring tools is considered an advantage.
What we are looking for is someone who can grasp concepts quickly, has great attention to detail and, most importantly, loves a tech challenge. In short, we are a team of self-confessed geeks who love tinkering and tweaking until something is just right and we are looking for someone who thinks and acts like us.
Location
At Compucorp we are a distributed team and we welcome people to join us from all around the world. However, as a UK-based company, some overlap with UK hours will be required. By default, you should assume that your working hours would be +/- 3h max from GMT start times of 9.00AM UK start time. There is some flexibility in this but please be aware that staff members starting outside of these hours are rare and, as such, if you would expect these hours to be an issue for you then we would not suggest that you apply. Due to EU data protection requirements, DevOps/SysAdmin team members must be from either an EEA country or a country that the EU considers to have an adequate level of data protection. The list can be found at the link below:
https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/law-topic/data-protection/data-transfers-outside-eu/adequacy-protection-personal-data-non-eu-countries_en

Team and Culture
We're a diverse team of people, both professionally and personally, bringing together a broad range of skill sets, experiences, backgrounds and cultures. We believe this helps us build better products for our diverse user base. It's for this reason that we have built a kind, supportive, inclusive team. We have team members from 19 different nationalities, and no gender pay gap.
We pride ourselves on being flexible and family-friendly - it's not unusual to see a baby in a team meeting. Being your best at work means having balance outside it - if you need to pick the kids up from school, visit a sick relative, or just want to walk the dog while the sun is shining, that's part of life. We expect you to work sensible hours and take your holidays.
Engineering is spread across Europe, because we believe you can ship great software from anywhere. Our office is in London, where some of our product development team is based, including Product Management and Design - remote brainstorming can be really hard. We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our infrastructure team, responsible for:
* Keeping our cloud infrastructure secure and highly available.
* Supporting engineers with the necessary tools to ship product easily.
* Facilitating monitoring, alerting and maintenance.
* Working with our development team on adopting new offerings from AWS or other providers.
We run on Amazon Web Services and script using CloudFormation, Python and Puppet. Our application services are written in Java and Node, and run in Docker containers in Amazon ECS.
Deployments happen multiple times per week, sometimes multiple times per day. We also make use of Lambda, API Gateway, Elasticsearch and Redis.
Benefits
* Competitive salary.
* Paid holidays.
* Stock options.
* Apple or Linux equipment.
* Occasional travel and accommodation in London.
How to apply
If you think you're a good fit for this role, send us a covering email along with your CV - we want to get to know you! Please also include your availability.
As part of our hiring process, we ask candidates to do a coding test, which is based on our in-production set of technologies.

Skylight (https://skylight.digital/) is at the forefront of a civic movement to reinvent how the government serves the public in a digital world.
Youll be a key part of our small, but rapidly growing team, which consists of former Presidential Innovation Fellows, founders of 18F, and members of the U.S. Digital Service. (Its an exciting time to join us!)
We work in small, fast, agile teams to create exceptional customer experiences and enduring solutions out of the governments most complex design and technology challenges. The work is challenging, but highly rewarding: millions of people from veterans to immigrants depend on these critical government services every day.
Your initial challenge will be to help advance the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VAs) mission of providing benefits and services to our nations service members, Veterans, and their dependents and survivors. The VA operates the nations largest healthcare system, called the Veterans Healthcare Administration (VHA). The VHA consists of 150 medical centers and nearly 1,400 community-based outpatient clinics, community living centers, Vet Centers, and Domiciliary. Together these healthcare facilities, and the more than 53,000 licensed healthcare practitioners, provide comprehensive care to more than 8.3 million Veterans each year. Youll work collaboratively with the VHA to deliver a user-centered digital platform that empowers these practitioners and other employees to identify and disseminate promising clinical and administrative practices.
Benefits
We focus on supporting you in a variety of ways:
* Highly competitive salary
* Profit-sharing and bonus opportunities
* Company-subsidized health and dental insurance
* 401k plan
* Unlimited paid time off policy
* Time to focus on activities such as learning & development, open-source projects, and community outreach
* An environment that empowers you to unleash your superpowers for public good
* Potential for relocation assistance if willing to move to a HUBZone area (https://maps.certify.sba.gov/hubzone/map). (Read more about us being a HUBZone: https://skylight.digital/about/#hubzone.)
* Remote-friendly work environment

We're looking for a well-rounded, experienced senior engineer to join our nimble team as we grow our current platform and explore new products. Your responsibilities will be full-stack, but most of your focus will be in backend APIs and infrastructure automation.
About Us
At TrueVault, we're passionate about data security. Our mission is to help companies manage and protect their customers' Personal Data. We've built a secure data storage and tokenization platform that is geared towards protecting healthcare data. Now, we're working on expanding our reach to new industries and new use cases. We need help to do it!
Our engineering team is small, experienced, and passionate about building software well. We believe in:
* Minimizing waste by working iteratively and iterating on the way we work
* Learning from our failures, and building systems that don't fail the same way twice
* Being pragmatic in our approach to design and implementation and being thoughtful about the business context of our work
* Designing security into a system, not layering it on top
* Supporting our customers from initial planning, through development, to production
Do any of these ideas resonate with you? Let us know when you apply.
About You
You have a breadth of experience in application development and infrastructure automation. You enjoy working across multiple technologies to deliver pragmatic solutions quickly. You want to join an entrepreneurial team where you will maintain and extend existing production services as well as rapidly iterate on new product ideas.
You have experience and enjoy:
* Crafting and maintaining public-facing APIs
* Working collaboratively in cross-functional groups to find pragmatic technical solutions to customer needs
* Automating infrastructure using tools like Ansible/Puppet/Chef and Terraform/CloudFormation in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
* Being productive in legacy systems, iteratively improving while getting things done
* Diagnosing and mitigating production issues, at the application and infrastructure level
* Managing and using Relational as well as NoSQL databases
* Providing technical support to technical customers (developers)
This is a broad role; you'll work on every part of the product's code and infrastructure. Your ideas and goals will affect not just the technical side, but the products we build and the company's overall direction. You'll develop a sense of ownership of the product, and the company itself.
Compensation & Perks:
* Competitive Salary
* Excellent medical/dental/vision coverage
* Personal wellness budget to spend on gym membership, fitness classes, spa, etc.
* Generous equipment budget and customized workstation
* Remote work available (fully distributed team) or work from our homey San Francisco office
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
Due to the nature of our business, we can only employee US residents working in the US.

At Wistia we believe that every person in every business will use video to communicate every day, for asynchronous as well as live communication. It will feel as fluid and natural as it does to text or call someone today, but even more personal and human .
This reality is still a way off, but we're super excited to start building it now through simple and delightful video-focused products.
To help us get there, we're looking for a Software Engineer of Infrastructure who is excited to help our engineering teams solve challenging problems.
As an infrastructure software engineer at Wistia, you can expect to lead projects such as the following.
* Improve our in-house deployment platform by having it expose access to new Kubernetes options or more effectively use Kubernetes primitives, or finding ways to make our Jenkins-based CI system more pleasant to use for other engineers
* Gather feedback from colleagues to identify workflow frictions or architectural problems across our codebases and advise and assist with improvements, such as by measuring the current load of different pieces of a system, identifying problem libraries or other system components and suggesting a solution or vetting a replacement, or planning out the steps of a complex refactoring across services.
* Make a manual infrastructure operation more automatic or declarative, e.g. by building a tool to sync our DNS zones from a source-controlled config file or by writing a bot to show us output in new infrastructure pull requests
* Advise our application development teams on how best to architect a new feature, including evaluating a datastore for a particular new workload, designing data flows to keep app containers stateless, deciding how to best employ AWS primitives, and identifying and avoiding single points of failure
* Improve observability across our Rails and Elixir codebases and Linux hosts via logging and instrumentation, identify performance bottlenecks across systems, and recommend configuration or application design improvements to handle growing system scale
* Update our Chef recipes to be compatible with new software versions or to apply security patches, bake the updates into new VM images, and roll out new images to all our clusters
We are looking for someone who is excited to support our engineering colleagues on other teams and flexible enough to work at any level of our stack. We won't expect you to know all the tools we use on your first day, as long as you're eager to learn and you thrive working collaboratively. We're a small team, so we will also value experiences and skillsets that complement our existing strengths.

* You have a generalist mindset, excited to jump into many parts of the stack to ship working software
* You have clear, effective communication skills, both written and verbal
* You have experience with agile practices, including pair programming, TDD/BDD, continuous delivery, object oriented design, etc
* You are comfortable with asynchronous development: GitHub workflow, chat, email, etc

Extra bonus points for:
* Desire to grow and lead a team of Front-End Engineers
* Experience with native mobile development
* Experience with Ruby on Rails
* Experience with GraphQL
* End-to-end testing experience, particularly on mobile
* Design skills, or at least a strong design sense
* Open-source contributions and/or side projects

* Great health benefits: we’ve got you covered with health and dental - we pay 100% of your premiums and 50% for dependents
* Competitive salary and stock options
* Generous PTO

Tuft & Needle was formed in 2012 when co-founders JT and Daehee left their jobs as software engineers. After a terrible experience trying to buy a mattress, the team set out to make a mattress and experience that people could love.
We view Tuft & Needle not as a mattress company that makes software, but as a software company that sells mattresses. We’re a small team of passionate full-stack developers. We frequently seek out advice from each other and believe in continuous learning. We’re incredibly focused on results and don’t expect specific, regular hours in the office (we have a pretty sweet office though). Although sometimes we pair program, we aren’t religious about it. We believe process should be extracted from things that are working well.
We’re looking for another full-stack Ruby/Rails developer to join our growing engineering team in Phoenix. You'll get to work on tuftandneedle.com as well as our internal customer experience and administration systems while collaborating with the rest of the engineering team on strategic decisions.
Our Technical Environment:
Our stack consists primarily of Ruby, Rails, Postgres, React.js, CoffeeScript, HAML and SCSS and is deployed to Heroku and S3. We use CircleCI for continuous integration and believe strongly in continuous deployment. Refactor without fear and ship daily! We also believe in leveraging quality APIs and tools.
Qualities We're Looking For:
* At least 5 years prior experience working in a tech environment similar to what's described above
* Empathy
* Pragmatism
* Curiosity
* A love for learning
* Phoenix locals (or those willing to relocate) strongly preferred
* Excellent communication skills
* The ability to see projects through to completion
Values of the Engineering Team:
* End-to-end ownership: Each project gets an Engineering owner that is responsible for the success of the project.
* Launch early and iterate: Done is better than perfect. Although we maintain a minimum standard of quality, we believe in getting value out of features and enhancements as soon as possible, while rapidly iterating.
* Do things that don’t scale: We believe that our software should automate existing manual processes to save time, rather than preempt potential needs to avoid building unnecessary software. Our litmus test for deciding on new features is “Has the team done this manually first?”. Of course, we’re pragmatic even about this value.
* Pragmatism: In a growing startup, our philosophy is that it’s important to be pragmatic. We are rarely dogmatic and use Judo moves to efficiently solve problems.
Time & Benefits:
* Ability to work remotely
* Full time, 40 hours a week
* Located in Downtown Phoenix- remote work is available
* Free mattress and other products
* Health benefits for employee and dependents
* Paid Maternity/Paternity leave for eligible employees
* 401k with company match
* Generous vacation and sick leave policy
* Monthly company events
* Snacks and drinks stocked in the fridge
* Casual dress code, open office environment
