We're looking for someone who has experience with:\n\n- Deep Django experience\n- Postgres (ideally within AWS RDS)\n- Programmatic SMS\n\nWhile are looking for deep proficiency in Python. Experience with any of the following is an additional asset:\n\n- Linux\n- Nodejs\n- AWS Lambda/Serverless\n- AWS SDK\n- Writing CLIs\n- AWS SNS, Twilio, or similar\n\n# About ZibaSec\n\nThe best way to learn about our company is to look at our publicly available employee handbook at [https://www.notion.so/zibasec/Our-Why-f5245149408f4f43baad7ef4de4e0a91](https://www.notion.so/zibasec/Our-Why-f5245149408f4f43baad7ef4de4e0a91)\n\nWe’re an early stage, funded startup focused on helping organizations improve their security posture. We build easy-to-use tools that make it harder for attackers to exploit the people within an organization.\n\nOur flagship product is focused on helping organizations run email phishing campaigns against their own employees. This lets organizations assess their risk levels while also providing insight as to what type of training might be necessary for their organization.\n\nWe are a growing company and can promise you the following:\n\n- A diverse organization.\n- A safe workplace with zero tolerance for discrimination and harassment of any kind.\n- A solid workstation; your choice of a Linux, Mac, or Windows laptop.\n- A 100% remote and balanced work life. We actually prefer you don't work for more than 40 hours a week. We don't have VCs or other outside entities to answer to, and we rather our people have a balanced life than no life.\n- Flexible scheduling. Early riser? Night owl? No problem. We maintain an overlapping 3-hour window for synchronous work. Other than that, work any hours that work for you!\n- We're a tight-knit group and we value each other. Your voice will carry the same weight as anyone else.\n- You'll have dedicated time to learn, and a budget to pay for it.\n\n# **ZibaSec's Core Software Beliefs**\n\n- **Testing is important:** Untested code does not get shipped...but hitting 100% unit test coverage can be detrimental to productivity for no or very little gain; it's about the right balance. We're more fond of integration and end-to-end testing.\n- **Git activity != actual productivity:** Developers need time to debug locally, research, and learn.\n- **Continuous Deployment:** When code is ready, passes tests, it should make it into production within minutes.\n- **Readability > clever code:** Slick code isn't so slick if it's hard to grok.\n- **Continuous Improvement:** Everything can be improved and nobody knows any code, stack, framework perfectly; there is always room to learn and improve. In fact, we'll provide you with a budget that you can spend on learning (conferences, courses, etc).\n- **Dogma is bad:** Some method, technique, etc., may have been the right answer 100 times, but on the 101st time it's possible that another way could be the best path.\n- **Open Source is crucial:** As a company, we're very involved with open source, we are active consumers and contributors to multiple projects. We feel so strongly about this that if we find that a particular internal library could be beneficial to the outside world, then we take the time to package it up and open source it as a standalone library (we did exactly this for a Django SAML2 authentication back end). \n\n#Salary\n$180,000 — $181,000\n\n\n#Location\n🇺🇸 US-only

# Software Engineer (Mid / Senior Positions Open)\n## LeadSimple, Inc\n\nLeadSimple is a fully-remote, motivated team solving big problems in the property management industry. Bootstrapped since 2013, we're passionate about helping small businesses simplify growth and streamline operations, providing the leading CRM in our space. Engineering works closely with our Product and Success teams to discover and deliver features that will make a real difference in a product our customers use every day.\n\n**Tech Stack**\nIn 2019 we re-built our tech stack in a phased rewrite (rather than a big-bang project) to adopt React, Typescript, and Relay on the front-end, talking to a GraphQL API powered by Ruby on Rails. (We also have a side project written in Elixir.) We have experience refactoring a large codebase, so we seek to move fast without creating technical debt (test coverage is important). We practice continuous deployment, dividing work into weekly sprints.\n\n**Team**\nWe're a _fully remote team_ working across 6 time zones, and we make heavy use of Slack and Zoom for communication throughout the day. We value work/life balance and work at a sane pace, 40 hour weeks, Monday - Friday. Our engineering team currently maintains 2-3 hours of overlap with US Pacific Time, to facilitate collaboration.\n\nWe prioritize customer impact across the organization. Our Success and Product teams work closely with end users on a daily basis, using their feedback to refine our roadmap and assist Engineering in creating an exceptional product.\n\nWe're looking for motivated and productive team members to help accelerate progress on our roadmap. We're open to mid or senior roles at this time.\n\n## Mid-Level Software Engineer\n\nYou have a solid understanding of core engineering concepts, are able to master our tech stack, tools and processes, and become a productive contributor to new feature development.\n\nRequired Skills:\n* Experience with Ruby on Rails and 1 or more of our other core technologies: React, Typescript, RelayJS, GraphQL\n* Taking well-scoped components to completion within a reasonable time frame\n* Great communicator, asks questions, explains themselves, open to feedback\n* Proficient learner and problem solver\n* Cares for the end-user (see [The Product-Minded Engineer](https://blog.pragmaticengineer.com/the-product-minded-engineer/))\n\n[Apply Here](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeF5zo6hIcTQK8gP9LLGz6sTZMXGI1vDHPVbkpISxiy9CvOfQ/viewform?usp=pp_url&entry.473179885=Software+Engineer)\n\n## Senior Software Engineer\n\nYou are a rock-solid engineer with mastery of at least one domain. You can own technical design for projects of moderate complexity, understand trade-offs, debug systems in your domain, and write high quality code while getting a lot done. You're collaborative and an active contributor to product discovery conversations.\n\nRequired Skills:\n* Experience with 3 or more of our core technologies: React, Typescript, RelayJS, GraphQL, Ruby on Rails\n* Experience translating complex user stories into detailed requirements\n* Highly productive, moves fast without breaking things\n* Great collaborator, takes initiative, asks questions, explains themselves, open to feedback\n* Proficient learner and problem solver\n* Cares for the end-user (see [The Product-Minded Engineer](https://blog.pragmaticengineer.com/the-product-minded-engineer/))\n\n[Apply Here](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeF5zo6hIcTQK8gP9LLGz6sTZMXGI1vDHPVbkpISxiy9CvOfQ/viewform?usp=pp_url&entry.473179885=Senior+Software+Engineer)\n\n## Benefits\n\nBoth positions offer the following benefits:\n* Early Off Fridays (every other Friday afternoon off)\n* 3 Weeks Paid Vacation (in addition to the above, but includes local bank holidays)\n* Healthcare Allowance\n* Vacation Allowance\n\n\nSelected candidates will be invited to a 30-minute call, followed by a 90-minute structured interview to discuss your career and some technical questions related to your role.\n\nIf you enjoy owning the outcome for customers, influencing product, and honing your craft, we'd love to talk to you.\n\n[Apply Here](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeF5zo6hIcTQK8gP9LLGz6sTZMXGI1vDHPVbkpISxiy9CvOfQ/viewform) \n\n#Salary\n$50,000 — $100,000\n\n\n#Location\n🌏 Worldwide

## 🏔️ Relive\nRelive is an app used by more than **10 million people** to track and share their outdoor adventures. We think that being outdoors and exploring the world around you is amazing for your mental and physical wellbeing, and we're on a **mission to get everyone exploring the outdoors and living a healthy and active life**.\n\nWe're **growing fast** (this year we'll add more than 1 million new users a month) but we've never paid a dollar to acquire a user. We currently grow 100% organically via viral/word of mouth growth loops - users share an activity from Relive to their social media and that triggers their friends to sign up too. We are aiming to have more than **100 million users** of Relive within the next 3 years.\n\n## 👩‍🔬 PMs at Relive\nWe're looking for product managers to join our team so that we can invest in new areas of the product, and increase our focus on existing areas. You'll **lead a small team** (you + 5) and be given a clear focus area. Your job is to work with the team to understand the problem-space, find the right opportunities to have an impact and work together to execute on your strategy.\n\nEach team is **highly autonomous**. All of our developers are full stack and are empowered to touch any part of our codebase. In practice, this means that no matter what you want to execute as a team there are **no "stakeholders"** to coordinate with and **no dependencies** on other teams. Want to add a completely new feature to the product? Your team has the skills needed to add a new database, expose it via an API, consume that API in the app, and present the data in a beautiful UI within the app. And you **don't need to waste time in meetings** or hoping that a specialist team will implement the thing you need to make progress on your objective.\n\n## 💡 What would I work on?\nThis year we plan to start investing in a few new areas of our product. Depending on when you join you'll end up being given a clear focus area and a kick-ass team. Some examples of team focus areas we're investing in for 2021 include:\n* **Helping users to understand their health and wellness**. Our users want our support in staying active, understanding how they are improving over time, and ultimately helping them to live healthier lives. This takes different forms for every user and can be a key reason to keep using Relive long into the future.\n* **Take Relive from single player to multiplayer**. Relive is awesome today for your own activities, but it doesn't get better as the community grows. We want to make Relive increase in value and enjoyment for our users as we continue to grow towards 100 million users.\n* **Give our users an activity tracker that they love**. Today our activity tracker is functional but not lovable. We want to make it easier and more valuable for our users to track every activity with Relive.\n\n## ⭐ The highlights\n* We work in **empowered and autonomous product teams**. The teams are given clear focuses areas, ambitious objectives, and the safety and trust to do amazing things. The best summary of this mindset is Inspired by Marty Cagan. We like it so much that every PM who joins us gets a copy of his book.\n* Our product is **growing really fast** - more than 1 million new users per month in 2021. We grow 100% organically, our users love our product and share it with their friends and family.\n* The way we work as product teams is at the forefront of modern product building - **no scrum**, no backlogs or estimates, no coordinating across different departments, **no CEOs telling you what features to build**. Just smart people with high autonomy and lots of context about our users and the problems they face.\n* If you want to work on a consumer product with insane growth and are ready to grow yourself and **learn faster than you could ever imagine** then Relive could be the place for you.\n\n## 👍 Relive PMs are:\n**User obsessed** - we talk to users constantly and dive into the data we have about their behaviour.\n**Analytical** - we've got a lot of data and believe heavily in A/B testing whenever it is possible (almost always).\n**Focused on pointing the ship in the right direction** - nobody is going to tell you what to do, you're here to figure it out.\n**Risk takers** - we won't make an impact on the world if we only work incrementally. You need to be willing to make decisions and fail often, and we've build a culture to support that.\nPro tip 👉 You can find a more detailed overview of the traits we look for in a PM [here](https://relive.slite.com/api/s/note/MYQD2zc9tqMuxqXij3dJUX/PM-Traits-at-Relive).\n\n## 👎 On the flip side, Relive PMs are not:\n**Fanatical about scrum** - we don't follow a rigid methodology. We have our own process and are constantly evolving it as we learn.\n**Project managers** - you'll get guidance and strategy from the leadership of Relive, but nobody is giving you projects to execute on or tasks to deliver.\n**Busy grooming a backlog** - we don't believe in backlogs full of tasks you'll never work on. We don't waste time with estimates or pretending that we can plan what tasks we'll be working on in 6 months.\n**Unable to make a decision with limited data** - we will never have as much data as we would like, that can't slow us down from making decisions.\n\n## 🙋 Who you are\n**Experience** - You’ve built and scaled consumer products before. You’ve spent at least 3 years as a PM (or in a role building epic products)\n**More than a project manager** - if your focus has primarily been delivering things into production this role probably isn't for you. Nobody here is going to tell you what to do.\n**Strategies not hacks** - you understand the core mechanisms that drive user retention and know how to prioritise where we should focus\n**User focused** - You enjoy getting close to the user and understand the importance of mixing qualitative insights with quantitative ones\n**A proud generalist** - You’re comfortable wearing many hats. We value PMs who can analyse data, debate usability principles with a designer, and discuss complex concepts with a developer. We're a small and scrappy team with no room for specialists.\n**Fast learner, eager to share** - Willing to learn and teach. You’re always looking to grow your skills, and you understand the value of helping to improve the rest of the team. \n\n#Salary\n$73,000 — $100,000\n\n\n#Location\nEurope (CET +/- 2hrs)

\nSenior developer\n\nClosing date: Open until filled\n\nDo you love modern web technologies? Are you a team player who likes solving difficult problems together? Do you want to join one of the UK’s most exciting tech start-ups and play a key role in developing an ambitious product with a global impact?\n\nFlourish is empowering the world to visualize and tell stories with data. It enables anyone to create beautiful graphics, presentations and interactive stories without coding. Since our launch in 2018, more than 500,000 registered users have produced more than 5 million graphics, which have racked up more than ten billion views.\n\nOur customers include leading newsrooms (such as BBC and FT), major corporates (such as Goldman Sachs and Moody’s), NGOs (Amnesty, Rockefeller) plus universities all over the world.\n\nWe’re looking for a senior developer to join our team, reporting to the head of software development.\n\nThe role\n\nYou’ll be the technical lead in one of our small development teams, overseeing the creation of significant new features on the Flourish platform. Your team will:\n\n\n* Develop new features for Flourish, using modern web technologies\n\n* Maintain standards for web performance, security and accessibility\n\n* Build automated tests and improve the observability of the codebase\n\n* Pair-program and review code\n\n* Help improve the way we work and the tools we use\n\n\n\n\nThis is a thoroughly hands-on development role: most of your time will be spent working with code. But you will also mentor and manage other developers and work closely with the product team.\n\nThis role is focused on the Flourish back-end platform rather than the visualization templates, which are developed separately.\n\nAbout you\n\nYou are an experienced developer who enjoys working collaboratively and loves to learn new things. You care deeply about the quality of your work and are thoughtful about how to improve both what you’re doing and how the team works together. You’re happy to adopt existing conventions of the code base.\n\nImportantly, you’re excited by Flourish and the opportunity to make it better. You’re a friendly colleague and you work well in a close-knit team.\n\nMust-have skills\n\n\n* A deep understanding of the web platform\n\n* At least five years experience as a full-stack developer\n\n* Strong JavaScript and Node.js skills\n\n* Competence with command-line Linux and shell scripting\n\n* Good SQL skills\n\n* Be comfortable using Git for version control, and understand why clear history matters\n\n* Familiarity with working practices such as test-driven development, continuous integration and continuous delivery\n\n* Experience of agile methodologies\n\n* Awareness of security best practices for web applications\n\n\n\n\nNice-to-have skills\n\n\n* AWS (S3, EC2, IAM, etc)\n\n* PostgreSQL\n\n* Infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Puppet\n\n\n\n\nPerson attributes\n\n\n* An enthusiasm for learning and teaching\n\n* A systematic approach to solving problems\n\n* A love of the web and an interest in performance\n\n* The ability to give feedback kindly and receive feedback\n\n\n\n\nAbout us\n\n\n* \n\nOur tech stack: Some of the technologies we use include Node.js, Express; Postgres, Redis; Handlebars, Sass; AWS; Cypress; GitHub, CircleCI, Sentry. We don’t expect you to have worked with all of these, but any you have are a plus.\n\n\n* \n\nOur company: Flourish is a small team combining decades of collective experience in development, data, design, visualization and journalism/publishing. Read more about the team.\n\n\n* \n\nOur culture: We’re a friendly and supportive group that values kindness, honesty and fun. We’re open and try new things with enthusiasm. And we’re high-momentum, focused on delivering magical products that our users love. We socialise as a team at least once a month.\n\n\n* \n\nOur interview process: We make our hiring process fast and straightforward. Typically there is brief initial call and online screening test, followed by an interview designed to be rigorous but friendly and collaborative. We’ll ask you to do some pair-programming with us, to get a sense for how you communicate, but we don’t do stressful whiteboard coding.\n\n\n* \n\nOur location: We are largely a UK-based team, with a few exceptions. We used to be based in a fun office in Clerkenwell in central London. This was closed at the start of the COVID crisis, and we intend to get a new office in London in 2021, most likely in the Shoreditch area, but we do support remote working.\n\n\n\n\n\nBenefits\n\n\n* Salary from £60–80k depending on skill and experience\n\n* Remote working is welcome (the majority of our development team is remote), though after lockdown lifts, it would be a plus if you could be at our London office every few weeks for sprint planning/retros and socials\n\n* ‘20% time’ for developers on Fridays - you can choose what to work on, as long as it’s relevant to the company’s mission\n\n* Share options in a rapidly growing company\n\n* Flexible hours, and respect for work/life balance (not “startup hours”)\n\n* Lots of potential for career progression\n\n* 30 days’ annual holiday\n\n\n\n\nTo apply\n\nSend a CV, and a covering letter explaining why you’re interested in this role and how you meet the description above, to [email protected] Please use the subject line “Software Engineer”. Got questions about the job? Feel free to email us for a chat.\n\nWe’re committed to equality and diversity in the tech industry, so we’ll be especially happy to see applications from under-represented backgrounds.\n\nSorry, but we won’t be able to sponsor visas for this role: please do not apply if you do not already have the right to work in the UK. We are not accepting applications from recruitment agencies for this role.\n\nNot right for you?\n\nPlease spread the word instead! And join our mailing list to stay posted about Flourish.
