\nAt SUSE we're building the next-generation container orchestration platform based on Kubernetes, and are looking for a passionate Agile practitioner to guide our EMEA based development team.\n\nSpecifically, we are a team working to make the SUSE Container as a Service Platform the most easy to use and administer Kubernetes distribution out there. To achieve this, we make use of many open source projects, including Kubernetes, Salt, Docker, Ruby-on-Rails and more. This is an outstanding opportunity to build highly available, microservice based distributed systems utilizing some of the latest cuttingedge container technologies.\n\nAt SUSE, we're strongly committed to open source and we contribute to numerous free and open projects and initiatives. We embrace and believe in the open source innovation model and the open source business model. As a member of the SUSE Containers team you will have the opportunity to contribute to Kubernetes, Salt and various other open source projects. You will work together with the teams as SUSE and the upstream communities for these projects and strive to continuously advance the state of the art to meet customer requirements.\n\nCuriosity and good teamwork are two of the values that drive us as an engineering team. Are you passionate about these values? If so, you would be an extraordinary fit for us. As a team, we're constantly finding new ways to improve ourselves. One way we do this is by hosting regular FOSS-themed “hack weeks,” where everyone (and we mean it, Presidents and VPs on down are included) are encouraged to work on any project of their choosing, either individually or as a team. We pride ourselves on our communication and teamwork – we're all in this together!\n\nYour Responsibilities\n\n\n* Guide the teams on using Agile principles and Agile framework practices to delight customers.\n\n* Coaching the teams to a higher level of Agile maturity.\n\n* Provide advice to teams regarding improving execution efficiency.\n\n* Facilitate team ceremonies and gently guide teams to follow their agreed processes.\n\n* Report outwardly on team progress and performance to key stakeholders and by doing so improve transparency of the teams’ working for other groups.\n\n* Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on problem-finding and problem-solving.\n\n* Identify and remove impediments for the teams by working collaboratively with other groups within the company.\n\n* Assist our product owners with regular backlog grooming. Educate product owners regarding the quality of the product backlog.\n\n\n\n\nQualifications\n\n\n* BS CS (or equivalent) + 4 years experience or MS CS (or equivalent) + 2 years experience in a software development or engineering team.\n\n* Operating as part of an Agile or Lean/Kanban software development team.\n\n* Operating as a dedicated Scrum Master/Agile Leader within a software development team.\n\n* Experience implementing one or more Agile tools such as Jira, Rally etc.\n\n* Experience with open source software development\n\n* Experience with public clouds (AWS or Azure.)\n\n* Experience with private clouds (OpenStack or CloudStack.)\n\n* Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)\n\n* Programming in at least two or more high-level languages: Go, Java, C#, C++, Python, Ruby.\n\n* Expertise in software architecture to include REST, Micro-services, distributed systems, concurrency.\n\n* Database experience including deployment and management of both SQL and NoSQL databases.\n\n* Linux operating system – 3 years.\n\n* Deployment technologies such as SaltStack, Ansible, Chef or Puppet.\n\n* Detailed knowledge of best practices including test driven development and continuous integration.\n\n\n
