There, we said it...\n\nWhile our competitors churn out cheap, bulk SEO content that'd make an eHow editor weep, we strive for consistent excellence at scale.\n\nAs such, we are looking for **talented technical writers who love hard work as much as they love deadlines.**\n\nWe offer the chance to work as part of a killer team producing content for some of the biggest websites for webmasters.\n\nWe believe you will learn, develop as a writer and love our unique way of working.\n\nWe pay well, fast and like clockwork, unlike so many employers for writers.\n\n## About\n\ is our brand-new guide to technology for small businesses, joining our sister sites for webmasters, like and\n\nYou will have a chance to help shape the future direction of the site, and it's content.\n\n## About The Company\n\nFounded in 2006, [Quality Nonsense](http://www.qualitynonsense/) publishes websites for webmasters, like [WhoIsHostingThis](http://www.WhoIsHostingThis) and [](\n\nThe company HQ is in London, but our talented remote team of webmasters, writers & programmers are located across dozens of countries worldwide.\n\nWe take complicated topics and try to make them accessible to the average online reader. Tech news topics such as: internet law, privacy, security, copyright and hosting, and everything to do with websites and the internet. You’ll find our team knowledgeable, experienced, and determined to create quality work.\n\n## Key Requirements\n\nWe are looking for skilled writers that:-\n\n*  **Deliver** quality content to deadline\n*  **Obsess** about accuracy & quality\n*  **Understand** the importance of following a brief\n*  **Consider** sloppiness on facts & accuracy a cardinal sin\n*  **Wish** to learn & grow as writers beyond their current abilities\n*  **Will** work our way - it will differ from your past experience\n\nWe have a zero tolerance policy on broken promises, flakey behavior or disappearing acts. If anybody has used these words to describe you during adulthood, you are not a good fit for our team.\n\n## Who We’re Looking for\n\nWe most definitely _aren't_ looking for clones. But everyone on our team shares a handful of attributes:\n\nFor the writer roles:-\n\n* Native English speaker\n* Exceptional writing skills \n _(US English. You can be based anywhere)_\n* Strong research skills\n* Basic technical proficiency \n _(eg, most writers run their own blogs/websites, some can code)_\n\nFor every role:-\n\n* Good communicator _(remote work is otherwise impossible)_\n* Able to follow a set way of working _(eg, how to invoice)_\n* Happy working solo _(ie, without micromanaging or nagging)_\n* Well organized _(ie, deadlines get met, without excuses or exceptions)_\n* Rock steady reliable - your word is your bond\n* Basic WordPress skills\n* Basic HTML skills _(eg, Q: When do you use the [[BLINK] attribute]( A: Never)_\n* Introverts will thrive in our team _(we have the odd extrovert too)_\n\n## Who Works For us?\n\nWe work with a remote team of contractors in dozens of countries all over the world: from Bosnia to the UK to Canada to Australia. We continue to grow at a fast rate, and are looking for more additions to our team.\n\nOur team of writers is varied. We have a grumpy physics PhD, an idealistic MBA with a side hustle in Hollywood, and a hyperactive former greyhound racing gambler _(or so he says)_. We have wonderful writers that have worked for some of the world's biggest websites. And we have exceptional people who only write for us.\n\n## What Kind of Content Do We Produce?\n\nYou'll be writing on everything from web hosting to antique programming languages, from internet law to the social impact of encryption.\n\nThe work is highly varied. One writer might produce a [profle of a hosting company]( on Monday, an introduction to the [C# programming language]( on Wednesday, and a blog post about people [falling in love with chatbots]( on Friday.\n\nIf that mix sounds exciting, rather than terrifying, then maybe you have the Right Stuff.\n\nWe always produce high-end content _(ie, we are not a content mill)_. Our CEO is a former writer/editor, and understands the value of quality content.\n\nCheck out our website, especially the [blog]( and [resources]( sections. We are especially interested in people who can tackle very technical subjects, like resources on programming languages. A good example of this is our resource on the [Forth programming language]( Articles are more often than not pretty substantial _(1000+ words. Our record is 60,000!)._ We aim to be crystal clear on what we want on every project, with a full brief and examples of good/bad outcomes.\n\n## Pay & Workload\n\n**TLDR: We pay well/fast, and presently have as much work as you can handle** Rates vary in line with your commitment. We believe _(based on public salary data)_, that we pay better than 90% of comparable writing gigs. Writers get paid every other week in US dollars _(by PayPal or wire transfer)_. We are looking for writers available of a minimum of one day/week, due to the overhead of managing a big team. We have freelance writers producing as much as 10,000 words per week. There are no set hours, and you can work when you choose on any time zone and in any location - provided you meet deadlines. Did we mention how important delivering to deadline is...?\n\n## How We Work\n\nYou'll be working as part of our [remote team]( alongside team members in dozens of countries worldwide. Ideally, you'll have previous experience working remotely (although it's no dealbreaker, if not). All we ask is that you approach the job with an open mind about ways of working. Over the last decade working remotely, we've developed unique processes, systems and ways of working that help us get things done _(both on time and of the quality we expect of ourselves)_. We use a few popular tools you may have used before:-\n\n*  **Slack**, for teamwork & day-to-day chat\n*  **Asana**, for project management\n*  **Google Docs/Google Sheets** for collaborate documents\n*  **WordPress** to power many of our sites\n\nWe don't micro-manage; you will be expected to meet deadlines without exception, and without us hassling you. When we commission projects, we'll provided a writing brief, plus due dates and required minimum length. There is sometimes some discussion via Asana. You write the article and deliver it in the requested format, we edit it and publish, and shortly afterwards you get paid. Almost everybody works across multiple sites in our portfolio, and you will too.\n\n## How To Apply\n\nPlease send an email to [email protected] with:-\n\n* A 4-5 sentence introduction explaining why you think you would be a good fit;\n* Three URLs showcasing your work related to the internet or technology.\n* Format your subject line as follows: \n _Your Name | Freelance Writer | Digital.com_ Example: _John Doe | Freelance Writer | Digital.com_
