(2017). at https://doi.org/10.1007/s40192-017-0098-z\n\nProjects you’ll work on\n\n\n\n\n* The next-generation platform for empowering scientists with Citrine’s AI, guiding experimental design to accelerate discovery and lead to research breakthroughs.\n\n* A system for sharing and managing materials data across an enterprise’s researchers, with the goal of fostering collaboration between scientists, reducing experimental waste, and aiding in the management of R&D projects.\n\n* Complex analysis & visualizations that allow our users to gain deeper insights into their data.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat You’ll Do\n\n\n\n\n* Build backend services to support product features on the Citrine Platform that puts our core technology in the hands of scientists\n\n* Deploy and support your software & infrastructure in production\n\n* Collaborate closely with other engineers, frequently reviewing code and discussing architecture\n\n* Mentor other developers\n\n* Design high-performance, scalable systems\n\n* Test & analyze the impact and performance of your software\n\n* Work in a multi-functional team on features from concept to delivery\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Stack\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* Scala, Python\n\n* Swagger/OpenAPI\n\n* PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS DynamoDB\n\n* Elasticsearch\n\n* AWS Computer Services (EC2, ECS, Fargate, Batch)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSkills and Qualifications\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* BS in Computer Science or similar technical field of study, or equivalent industry experience\n\n* 5 years of experience writing production software in Java or Scala\n\n* Experience building backend web services\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNice-to-haves\n\n\n\n\n* Familiarity with Akka, Slick, and basic functional programming\n\n* Familiarity with containerization / Docker\n\n* Experience with AWS\n\n* Experience with non-relational database such as DynamoDB\n\n* Experience with production monitoring systems such as DataDog\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEqual Opportunity\n\nCitrine Informatics is an equal opportunity employer.
