\nSince 1996, Electric Pulp has focused on developing cutting-edge interactive solutions. We are looking for a server-side developer who can use PHP to help us continue to produce top-of-the-line digital experiences for our clients, particularly in the ecommerce arena. We work hard; we play hard; and our clients demand the best. So if you're great at what you do, and what you do happens to be web and PHP programming, we want to hear from you.\n\nWe prefer that you are or could be local to Sioux Falls, SD or even in the Minneapolis area, but don’t let that stop you from making contact. We understand that the right fit might not live here.\n\nAbout The Job\n\n\nAs an ecommerce developer at Electric Pulp, you will be integral to the success of the project, working with our project managers and front-end developers to implement the underlying server-side functionality of our projects. Typical projects involve working with platforms like Magento, Laravel, WordPress, and WooCommerce. In addition to developing functional modules, you will optimize performance of the server-side components of the project.\n\nWhile coding is the core function of this role, there are a few other things that we'll be looking for:\n\n\n* Ability to work well with others\n\n* Self-starter tendencies (especially important if you're out of the area)\n\n* Ability to multi-task\n\n* Dedication required to meet a deadline\n\n* Interest and proven history of learning new methods and technologies\n\n* Ability to write effectively and without typos\n\n* U.S. candidates only\n\n\n\n\nThis position is available now, and is already loaded with work, so you'll need to hit the ground running. As a result, it'd be best if you had some serious chops when you walk through the door on the first day. Skills and experience required are as follows:\n\n\n* 2+ years PHP development experience\n\n* Experience with MVC frameworks and concepts\n\n* Experience developing for Magento (esp. custom extensions and Magento Enterprise Edition). Magento certification preferred, but not required.\n\n* Experience integrating ecommerce platforms with third-party systems\n\n* Experience with server configuration (esp. Apache and nginx)\n\n* Experience with server-side caching tools (esp. Memcache and Varnish)\n\n* Proficiency with version control tools (preferably git)\n\n* Proficiency with HTML5 & CSS2/3, JavaScript (esp. jQuery)\n\n* Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress)\n\n\n\n\nThis is a full-time salaried position with benefits:\n\n\n* Paid time off for vacations or illness\n\n* Flexible work schedule\n\n* Laptop provided\n\n* iPad mini or iPhone provided\n\n* Competitive Ping Pong environment\n\n* Free pop, (That’s soda, for you coastal types.)\n\n\n\n\nWe’re very serious about our work, but the team is cool, the projects are fulfilling and the Fridays allow for casual attire. As do the other days.\n\nSo, send us your resumé and your github repo or examples of your work in the wild. We look forward to hearing from you. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
