\nRole\nAs a Site Reliability Engineer you will help deliver and scale a platform that developers love to use. You will:\n• Maintain existing services to guarantee uptime\n• Build and implement disaster recovery when it is not and ensuring it is mostly the former via improvements. \n• Keep services running or getting them back up and running quickly when a failure occurs\n• Ensure that we ship software that meets security requirements\n• Automate work including infrastructure needs, failover solutions, failure mitigation\n• Improve monitoring and alerting solutions\n• Maintain documentation for recurring issues, prepare incident reports for production issues\n• Migrate the platform to AWS, GCP and additional cloud platforms as required.\n• Design and implement on-prem and hybrid-cloud solutions.\n\nRequired skills and knowledge\n• Professional communication skills, both verbal and written\n• Experience operating large-scale production systems, with keen understanding of design principles and best practices of implementation\n• Knowledge of:\no Networking (DNS, load balancer, etc)\no Unix / Linux shell\no Encryption for data-in-flight & rest\n• Experience in the following technologies:\no Kafka\no Kubernetes\no Docker\no Azure Cloud Service\no Ansible, Terraform or alternatives\no Source control (git)\no Helm\n\nNice to have\n• Experience in the following technologies:\no AWS\no Google cloud\no Chaos Engineering\n\nBenefits\n• Work from home anywhere in the UK and EU (may be required to travel occasionally)\n• 2 annual team meet-ups in EU destinations (normally beaches and mountains)\n• Generous stock options commensurate with the opportunity\n• 37 days holiday (including all public holidays in your region)\n• 2 additional paid days off a year for volunteering work\n• Budget to choose own hardware and office set-up\n• Training and personal development budget\n• Regular socials with paid food/drink/games allowance \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
