Ladder is hiring a Remote Senior UX Content Designer
About Us\n\nWe saw a problem within the life insurance industry: getting covered took too long, involved too much paperwork, and required too many in-person meetings with salesy agents. Having lost his father at a young age, our CEO, Jamie, was determined to make it easier for people to get the coverage they needed to provide for their families. So, we got to work. We developed a method of real-time underwriting and, in doing so, reduced the months-long process of applying for life insurance to minutes. Our digital experience is quick (instant decisions!), loved by users (check out our Trustpilot or Google reviews) and prolific ($74 billion+ in coverage provided). \n\n\nAbout the Role \n\nThe UX Content Design team balances the user, business, and brand using clear, approachable language to create experiences that put our users first and help make an intimidating topic refreshingly simple. Reporting to the Content Design Manager, this role offers an outstanding opportunity to work on projects from the ground up with cross-functional partners in Design, Engineering, Data Analytics, Product, Compliance and Marketing who value content design and UX writing. A portfolio is required and must be submitted with a resume.\nResponsibilities\n\n\n* Drive a historically complex topic to feel human, accessible and fresh with language that brings our brand to life down to the smallest microcopy\n\n* Shape the future of Ladder by providing high-level strategy for high-impact experiences such as home page, information architecture, navigation, email, and mobile app\n\n* Influence product development from ideation to wireframing, launching features, and iterating on versions based on data\n\n* Validate concepts through user testing\n\n* Identify opportunities to A/B test when appropriate; launch and learn from minimal viable products (MVPs)\n\n* Ensure consistency across all user touch points: emails, notifications, direct mail, CTAs and labels, navigational elements, confirmation pages\n\n* Proactively share and collaborate with fellow writers to educate and ensure consistency in voice, tone, and process\n\n* Create product narratives and content frameworks; provide rationale for your recommendations\n\n* Collaborate and build relationships cross-functionally with opportunities to align and amplify efforts with teams and stakeholders\n\n* Maintain and evolve our voice and tone guidelines \n\n\n\nRequirements\n\n\n* 5+ years UX writing/Content Design/Content Strategy experience at a leading consumer technology company\n\n* A strong portfolio highlighting your process of solving user problems from concept through execution and iteration required\n\n* Extensive experience leading projects and process\n\n* Exceptional listening, writing and presentation skills which are succinct, clear and engaging\n\n* Proven history of championing content strategy as the backbone of interconnected digital experiences\n\n* Ability to think through onboarding and transactional flows, confirmation screens, error messaging and CTA copy while looking for ways to say more with less\n\n* Inclusive and collaborative style, knowing when to involve cross-functional partners\n\n* Commitment to continuous learning, iteration, and user-centered experiences\n\n* Comfortable challenging your own assumptions and the assumptions of others\n\n\n\nWhat we offer\n\nWhether you work in our beautiful office in Palo Alto or remotely, Ladder is highly collaborative and fun. We've invested in technology to support our hybrid team, plus we provide office snacks and catered lunches so that team members can work well and have fun together.\n\n* Paid parental leave | We think it's crucial that new parents have time to adjust to their new lives without worrying about work, so we provide all parents inclusive of birthing, adoption, or fostering ten weeks of paid baby bonding.\n\n* Work-from-home flexibility and support | We recognize that everyone's homelife is different and support remote and hybrid work. About Goldsky\n\nAt Goldsky, our vision is simple: Build the most powerful data platform for Web3. โ๏ธ\n\nBlockchains will enable a new era of unique onchain experiences and applications. However, today itโs impossible to build high-quality products due to the difficulties of processing onchain data effectively. This complexity is only increasing as more chains and smart contracts are deployed across the ecosystem. Teams are forced to build complex data infrastructure in-house, distracting them from focusing on their core product.\n\nGoldsky bridges this gap by making it seamless for developers to power their applications with realtime onchain data. Our infrastructure powers hundreds of projects across the industry building rich, instant, data-driven experiences.\n\nWeโve raised over $20M from Dragonfly Capital, Felicis Ventures, prominent players in the industry such as 0x Labs, Uniswap Labs, and Protocol Labs, and angel investors including Elad Gil, Plaid founders Zach Perret and William Hockey, and Zhuoxun Yin of Magic Eden. Our team members have previously built mission-critical, scalable infrastructure at Meta, Google, Shopify, Activision, and more.\n\nWeโd love for you to join us in our mission to unlock the full potential of data in Web3.\nAbout the role\n\nWe launched our first product, Index, last year. Since then, weโve onboarded hundreds of customers to the platform, including Zora, Optimism, POAP, NounsDAO, 0x Labs, Immutable, Hashflow, Arweave, and Polymarket, among others.\n\nRecently, we began rolling out access to Mirror, an end-to-end data pipeline solution for streaming onchain data directly to an existing offchain database.\n\nAs our business grows, and the technology becomes increasingly powerful, weโre looking to bring on a second designer to work across our product and marketing surfaces, ensuring thoughtful attention to detail and polish at every level. Youโll shape our visual identity across a range of platforms โ and touch everything from developer docs, CLI tools, and web products to our holistic brand experience โ including our website, social, marketing collateral, events, apparel, and more. Youโll partner with Kevin (CEO), Gavin (Design), Andrew (Marketing), and others across the company to take our product and brand to the next level.\nResponsibilities\n\n\n* \nGo Deep: Youโll become a product expert across our entire platform, understand every nook and cranny of our infrastructure, and develop a deep sense for how our brand reflects the quality of craftsmanship in our products.\n\n* \nDesign, Polish, and Systematize: With a deep understanding of the company, youโll look for areas to polish the existing products, design delightful experiences for new products, evolve and extend our brand identity, and systematize these across all the surfaces Goldsky touches.\n\n* \nCement Goldsky as the Leader in Data: Youโll work with the founders and go-to-market team to position and market Goldsky as the leading data infrastructure provider in our space. You will ensure our brand becomes a household name and the default option for teams looking for fast, powerful, flexible data tooling.\n\n* \nProblem-Solve on the Fly: Weโre building sophisticated tools in a completely new industry, where there are many things to discover. Problems will arise that have never been solved, and youโll be able to figure out the โgood enoughโ solution consistently as we run into lots of novel technical challenges. You have the drive to work through hard problems, the curiosity to dig deeper and understand the root cause of a problem, and the grit to iterate through first attempts that lead to the right solution over time.\n\n\n\nWeโre excited to talk with you if:\n\n\n* You have high attention to detail and a passion for figuring out best-in-class UX, UI, and interaction challenges. Youโre passionate about designing because itโs fun, and you find yourself working on projects out of a love for building.\n\n* You consider yourself a generalist. You donโt like being penciled into a narrow set of responsibilities. You approach new challenges with curiosity and excitement, but know when to ask for help.\n\n* You enjoy the high-level strategy work as well as the implementation, and you get excited about working on product, visual design, graphics, marketing, and design systems.\n\n* Youโre curious, low ego, and always looking to improve. You experiment with strategies, tactics, and tools in order to identify what works, and you adjust to find repeatable success. Youโre open to feedback and collaborating with others to get to the best approach.\n\n* Youโre hungry and excited to join a high-growth, fast-paced startup where youโll get your hands dirty across a range of challenges. Youโre comfortable in an ambiguous, remote environment without much structure.\n\n* You enjoy building long-term relationships with teammates and customers.\n\n* Youโre open and curious to learn more about this wacky world of crypto :)\n\n\n\nBonus Points For:\n\n\n* You have hands-on experience with motion design, animation, or illustration\n\n* Youโve worked with highly technical products and customers; even better if youโve worked in B2B SaaS.\n\n* Youโre able to read and write small bits of code.\n\n* Youโre crypto native, familiar with the broader ecosystem, and understand why Goldsky will unlock new experiences and applications in Web3.\n\n\n\nBenefits:\n\n\n* Competitive salary and equity in Goldsky.\n\n* Fully paid health plans for U.S. based employees โ This includes medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your family at no cost to you.\n\n* Unlimited vacation - Take time to recharge as you need it. Weโre serious.\n\n* Home office setup fund - Expense up to $2,000 for home office equipment (e.g. desk, chair)\n\n* Company provided laptop - weโll make sure youโve got the hardware to keep up with you\n\n* Wellness stipend - Expense up to $100/mo on whatever helps you stay healthy.\n\n* Connectivity stipend - Expense up to $75/mo on phone or internet.\n\n* Regular self-care days - Every other Friday is a company holiday to decompress. We go hiking, learn to cook, or trade jpegs.\n\n* Paid travel - Weโll cover any costs for work-related conferences and quarterly company offsites all around the globe.\n\n* Nice swag - We have a free internal Shopify store set up!\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
