\nConsider a career as a back-end Software Engineer within T-Mobile’s Home +Entertainment (formerly Layer 3 tv) team in Boston’s Seaport District. In this role, you will do back-end software development, live guide and content metadata services, DVR scheduling services, third-party speech recognition and natural language understanding (NLU) integration services using Node.js and MongoDB. We offer excellent technology, team, location, ability to work remote a couple days/week, competitive, comp, bonus, stocks and perks!\n\nResponsibilities include, but not limited. \n\n\n* Build distributed cloud microservices support an in-home IPTV cable service\n\n* Implement and release numerous services covering all aspects of a video streaming service including: authentication, alerts, video recording and scheduling (DVR), TV Everywhere, affinity/recommendation, and TV/movie metadata services\n\n* Integrate product with social media platforms to give real-time relating to airing content\n\n\n\n\n Must have the following skills, ability and knowledge:\n\n\n* Experience building testable, scalable back-end APIs\n\n* Experience working with databases, especially MongoDB\n\n* Experience with cloud-based development, e.g., AWS\n\n* Expertise in scaling and performance optimization, e.g., Redis caching\n\n* MongoDB preferred (Hadoop, Spark and/or Cassandra)\n\n* Source code management in software development using Git\n\n* Caching and other solutions to improve performance and scalability\n\n* Understanding of software design patterns and micro-service architecture\n\n* Social media integration (e.g Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)\n\n* Agile methodologies\n\n* Excellent communications skills (interpersonal, written and verbal)\n\n* Familiarity with Node.js strongly perferred\n\n* Familiarity Kafka and/or Storm a plus\n\n* Big data frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data analytics a plus\n\n* Event streaming and queuing solutions (Kafka, Storm, Redis, etc.) a plus\n\n\n\n\n Qualifications:\n\n\n* 6+ years of professional related experience\n\n* Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or quantitative field\n\n* Masters of Science a plus\n\n* Must be willing to work in the office but we do offer flexibility of remote a couple days a week, once up and running.\n\n\n\n\n\nFor consideration, please send resume, salary expectations and best time to reach you.
