This year

US-based applicants only, please. On-site OK!

Good Eggs is a Certified B-Corp on a mission to change the way folks get their groceries. We've created an entirely new supply chain that means our customers get produce that's 9 days fresher than the other guys, and the farmers and foodmakers we work with pocket more of the profit. We carry 1000s of our customer's favorite everyday groceries, and we give free next-day delivery on orders over $60, 7 days a week. The groceries we sell are from vetted producers that are Doing The Right Thing for our environment and their employees.

We're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our growing team and support the culture of DevOps here at Good Eggs. Our DevOps Team is responsible for a broad range of things, from developer productivity to the care and feeding of our production infrastructure. You should be well versed in the cloud-based ecosystem, including the use of containers and cluster scheduling. Ideally you've supported successful web applications and could discuss web architecture design in detail. Keywords: AWS, ECS, Docker, Convox, Terraform, Ansible, CI, CD, NodeJS, Go, Python, Ruby.

Additionally, you're also a capable Software Engineer that could write an API server or CLI tool including the automated tests that let you sleep at night. Your Github profile is likely full of pull requests and comments on issues, because you naturally contribute back to the OSS you leverage. You can empathize with product-focused engineers because you've been one or have supported them before. You like to help them move faster and break less. Keywords: NodeJS, Ruby, Python, Go, TDD, React, Angular, MongoDB, XP, Pair Programming.

You’d design and implement features that support our in-house development platform, using technologies like Consul, Docker, Mesos, and Marathon.

In the coming year, you'd help us build out continuous integration and deployment for our applications, support for global scalability and disaster recovery and automated, end-to-end tests on our infrastructure. Position: Senior DevOps Engineer

First a little about us - we are a B2B marketing technology company focused on advertising and website personalization. We make it possible for businesses to deliver personalized ads to people at specific companies across the web and tailor the messages on their website to engage and convert these companies to customers.

Now you. Are you a developer who somehow got interested in deployment and network operations? Are you a sysadmin who loves to script and code? Do you get weirdly jazzed by continuous integration and deployment? If yes, then read on because we're looking for a passionate DevOps expert to help us scale our operations.

We run Ruby on AWS, using Chef for configuration management, so you must have extensive experience with AWS, config management systems, and programming using a dynamic language.

You must have at least 3 years experience in a specifically DevOps role - meaning supporting developers by providing infrastructure, maintaining CI/CD systems (jenkins), etc.

And of course you must also have extensive experience configuring and maintaining Linux servers as well as deploying, maintaining, and monitoring production applications that run on them. You should also have the same level of experience configuring and maintaining the networks they run on (with AWS networking and security a big plus). And you must possess a solid understanding of both network and systems security.

Finally, it would be great if you also have experience configuring and tuning infrastructure applications such as PostgreSQL, Docker, Redis, RabbitMQ.

Sound like you? Then hurry on over and join the team!

Solve Hard Problems With a Team of Infrastructure Pros

NSONE is based in New York City with offices in San Francisco and Singapore. We’re a world class team of internet infrastructure experts, working on deep solutions to real world traffic management problems, and operating a large global delivery infrastructure powered by bleeding edge technology.

Tight-knit, customer focused, driven by innovation

NSONE is not a sprawling, hierarchy addled behemoth. We are lean and fast, and there’s a tight loop among our entire team. We’re all about automation, intelligent distributed systems, and quick iteration.

The role

We’re looking to add a new core member to our small but fast growing engineering team: an experienced DevOps engineer who can dive in to our extensively automated network of global infrastructure, summoning their deep technical background to drive new innovation in the tools and systems that run our cutting edge traffic management platform.

We’re looking for an autodidact who can immerse themselves in our globally distributed infrastructure immediately, leveraging existing technical strengths and teaching themselves the systems that are new to them. You should have broad knowledge of the technologies in modern infrastructure operations and automation, offering constructive advice for improvements, while being able to use and scale the systems in our existing platform. You’ll take responsibility for the quality of your code, and your daily work will have an immediate company-wide impact.

Some stuff you’ll work on:

  • Deployment automation
  • Monitoring, metrics collection and alerting
  • Continuous build and testing systems
  • Linux system maintenance and platform security
  • Traffic load balancing, filtering, and DDoS mitigation tools
  • Messaging, persistent DB and caching systems

    Technologies

We like to find the right tool for the job, and we’ll expect your sage advice to help make future decisions on which technologies should power our platform (and why they are best). Whatever the technology, we strive for provably maintainable, scalable, and secure systems.

We run a custom stack in a very distributed network with infrastructure in various environments around the globe. Some tools we’re currently using to tie it all together include:

  • Ansible
  • Redis
  • Linux
  • MongoDB
  • Vagrant
  • RabbitMQ
  • Python (Twisted)
  • Hadoop/HDFS/OpenTSDB
  • Grafana
  • BPF and packet analysis

    Working @ NSONE

We’re a small, well funded startup with a casual work environment and strong work ethic. There’s a lot to do so we keep meetings and process to a minimum. We’re headquartered in NYC’s Financial District. We like to have fun, but skip most of the fancy startup gimmicks (fresh beer yes, gourmet chef and afternoon yoga no). We prefer candidates local to NYC or SFO, but will happily consider well qualified remote employees.

    We offer:

  • competitive compensation (salary and stock options)
  • medical, dental, and vision
  • commuter benefits
  • 401k
  • flexible hours and time off

NSONE is an equal opportunity employer.

As a Site Reliability Engineer at ReactiveOps, your primary goal will be to ensure our client’s applications are available, fast, and secure. Our clients need the best service, support, and products, and we need you to help us deliver.

JOB DESCRIPTION

At ReactiveOps, we offer two main products: DevOps consulting and managed operations. Through DevOps consulting, we write infrastructure automation, migrate to high-availability solutions, and craft Docker/CoreOS microservices architectures for our clients. You’ll work directly with clients to ensure their goals are met through automation, analysis, and infrastructure configuration.

Via managed operations, we act as our client's “outsourced, in-house DevOps team”, on top of AWS and other cloud vendors, as best meets our client’s needs. You’ll manage globally load balanced AWS installations, cross-datacenter replication on different vendors, or within client’s data-centers.

No matter the product, we take a DevOps-centric approach with our clients - we believe that we provide amazing service and our clients get the best value when we work closely together. We integrate task trackers (Pivotal, Trello, Asana), chat (Slack, Hipchat), and source control (github) into our own workflow through careful and clever use of automation, giving our clients the ability to contact us like they would with an internal DevOps team but without an operational burden on us.

You’ll work with virtualization and container technologies like Docker, CoreOS, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Vagrant, and Ansible. You will setup and automate high availability data clusters (MySQL Galera, PostgreSQL replication, Redis cluster, ElasticSearch clustering, Memcached, MongoDB etc.), application instances for technologies like Ruby-on-Rails, Django, Node, and Scala (to name a few). You'll engineer management, orchestration, monitoring, and alerting for fleets of instances. If you’ve ever wanted to work at a scale that few companies do, you’ll find the right challenge here at ReactiveOps!

We all work from home and have a “Remote First” culture. We are a Results-Only Work Environment, have a transparent and public technical ladder, minimum vacation policy and unlimited time off, and require healthy work-life balance. We pay 100% of individual and family health insurance premiums, participate in 401k match and have been bootstrapped and profitable since our founding. All employees participate in quarterly profit sharing, and we all get together for periodic all-expenses-paid retreats.

We're hiring across experience bands from mid to senior levels.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform DevOps-focused consulting work for diverse clients
  • Create and maintain system architecture, design, and automation
  • Pair with other SRE/SAs, mentor junior staff
  • Release and maintain open-source software and projects
  • Author blog posts and participate in the community by going to meetups, conferences, etc. as a ReactiveOps representative
  • Manage availability and performance problems for clients; automate resolution to prevent re-occurrence

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in Ruby, Python, or JavaScript
  • Significant experience with config management or automation frameworks like Chef, Puppet, or Ansible
  • 4 years maintaining production infrastructure on a Linux environment
  • Intermediate Ubuntu system administration skills
  • Strong DevOps experience and client service skills
  • Ability to participate in on-call/pager rotation as necessary

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-8 years maintaining high volume, distributed production infrastructure and microservices/Docker architectures
  • Superior DevOps mentality and client service skills
  • Strong Ubuntu system administration skills
  • Deep experience debugging, profiling, upgrading Ruby on Rails, NodeJS, or Python applications and application servers
  • Previous database administration experience
  • Demonstrated public accomplishments via open source, speaking, blogging, etc.

About us:

Retail Growth Fund acquired the Ice.com domain in 2014 to launch the best place for women to discover and purchase jewelry. We don't take any inventory because we're a marketplace - which means our capital goes towards building IP and acquiring/retaining users.

A few things that make us interesting:

  • The jewelry industry is a fragmented, $80B market (in the US alone), growing at 5%+ annually, that software has yet to disrupt.
  • You will be joining an awesome team led by Brandon Proctor and Justin Yoshimura (3x exits).
  • We are extremely data driven and technology/software is in our DNA. You won't be a second class citizen here, guaranteed.
  • We don't have time for assholes or politics.
  • Competitive compensation package including equity in a high growth VC backed start-up (Crosslink, Maveron, Quest, Polaris). Salary/equity is determined based on a sliding scale: if you would like a higher salary, we can issue you less equity, and vice versa.
  • Small (12 person), growing, and agile team.
  • $1k gift card to dog food our own marketplace sellers!

What we'd like to see:

  • True, full-stack engineers with extensive experience in Python/Django or Java. (Django is a key part of our stack but we use some Java).
  • Strong foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, databases, software design and dev ops.
  • Work experience with relational databases and SQL.
  • Experience with agile development process in collaborative environment.
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics OR 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Good understanding of performance tradeoffs.

Bonus Points:

  • We are currently using Magento, an open source e-commerce platform built in Zend PHP - yuck), but we are building a new, badass e-commerce platform (Django, Java, Node.js and integrating it with Netsuite's order management tools (no need to re-invent the entire wheel, after all). Related experience is a plus.
  • MS or PhD
  • if you have an awesome Github repo, open source contributions, or a cool project you can demo, please cut to the front of the line...

Responsibilities:

As a member of our small but seriously talented engineering team, you will play a key role in both shaping and building our technologies. Your scope will be broad, ranging from user-facing features to server-side components and libraries. We are looking for a generalist who enjoys learning and working with different technologies. And of course you will be expected to commit code on your first day.

*This job description is not meant to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities, but constitutes a general definition of the position's scope and function in the company.

Activision Blizzard USA is seeking to add a senior technical member to our team on a contract basis. We hope you have heard of us! We are a premier global entertainment technology company, with a 30-year track record of beloved game hits: Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Starcraft, Guitar Hero, and many, many other titles.

We’ve got an advanced technology initiative underway around real-time business intelligence. It involves rapid handling of a mountain of continuous logging data. =)

We’re looking for veteran System Administrators in Asia and Europe to join our team as offsite after-hours DevOps members. We are particularly interested in Korea, Singapore, New Zealand, Poland, and U.K. based on time zone and English proficiency.

This means you can work from wherever you want as long as we establish sufficient security standards. It is not necessary that you reside in the USA. In fact, due to the after-hours working shift, we prefer East Asia or Europe geographically. In any case we know there are talented and reliable people all over the world today.

Your general responsibilities, as you know, are server design, setup, maintenance, product deployment, and monitoring. We will be hosting on AWS.

The positions will initially be 3-to-6-month contracts, with the potential to be extended to long-term or employee status after internal scale-up of the platform we are building.

We understand that not many people will have direct experience with all of the bits and pieces listed below -- checking all the boxes is not important. The truly important things are:

  • that you have some experience with large production environments handling a lot of data and throughput
    • passion for the craft that we all share
    • a love of ongoing learning to keep yourself at the top of the game.

In this modern era of rapid technology evolution, how quickly you can master new skills increasingly outweighs a dusty library in-your-head of evaporating skills-inventory.

For this type of DevOps role, excellent English communication is obviously vital. When issues crop up you need to be able to jump on it instantly, alert the rest of the team, and document what you are doing clearly and precisely.

We are looking for someone to join our team to help develop, build, and maintain our product, with just enough Ops work to keep everything running smoothly. If you’re passionate about performance and reliability, we'd love to chat!

17hats is an online service designed to help tame the chaos of running a small business by combining invoicing, customer quotes, contracts, to-do lists, client contacts, bookkeeping and more into one easy-to-use app. Rather than repeat all the stuff that makes 17hats so nifty, head on over to our website and check it out: http://www.17hats.com

Dev Skills:

  • As much JS as possible (Knockout, Sammy, jQuery, etc)
  • As much Perl as possible (Moose, DBIC, Plack, etc)
  • HTML, REST, JSON, etc
  • Excellent debugging skills

    Ops Skills:

  • EC2, OpsWorks
  • Enough Chef to keep things running
  • A bit of Ruby helps
  • All the usual Linuxy things: bash, postfix, apache, proftpd, mysql, memcached, beanstalkd, perl, git

    Other Skills:

  • Jedi Mind Trick (naturally)
  • Invisibility (just for fun)
  • Vulcan Nerve Pinch (in case things get dicey)
  • Cooking a perfect Beef Wellington (a man's gotta eat!)
  • Knows the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow (if you have to Google it, it doesn't count)

    Personality:

  • Simplicity enthusiast / problem solver (find the simplest solution to a problem)
  • Greater good / no ego (what's best for the team, not for personal gain)
  • Sense of humor (the glue that keeps us working together harmoniously)
  • Humble & open minded (always open to new ideas and approaches)
  • Customer-centric (loves to help customers and others)
  • Positive & friendly (shows kindly interest and goodwill)
  • Self directed & dependable (trusted to provide what is needed without being managed)
  • Empathetic (ability to understand and share the feelings of others)

    About Us:

We are a small team of good-hearted folks with families, working really hard on a product that we're very excited about. We're committed to staying small and nimble, and we have this crazy belief that there are other good-hearted people out there willing to help us get a fair shot against the big corporate players. We hope that resonates with you.

Working at 17hats means you're collaborating with other A-players, so you won't have to waste time with incompetent nincompoops. You'll have the autonomy to direct your own work without being micromanaged. You'll have the opportunity to flex your technical muscularity while building on your already impressive skillset. And you'll be instrumental in dramatically improving the lives of self-employed people everywhere -- if you're like us, these people are your friends and family, and they need our help.

Everybody on our team works remotely (US, Canada, and Europe) so where you live doesn’t really matter. That being said, we do need someone who can work California business hours (9am-6pm PST) and who is available for emergencies at night. Our CTO resides in Europe and would like a good night’s sleep! Bonus points if you can curse in Dutch. Even more if you can do it in Canadian.
