## Weโre looking for a creative, user-focused junior designer\nWeโre looking for a junior designer with an eye for detail and a passion for creating software that looks great and is easy to use. You should have experience producing wireframes and high-fidelity, interactive mockups. Coding chops arenโt required for this role, but an interest in learning how to build your design in code is a plus.\n\n**Detail oriented**\nMost of your work will be creating production-ready, high-fidelity prototypes that will serve as the blueprint for our developers to implement. You should have a sharp eye for details in your design and pay attention to things like consistent typography, spacing and use of color.\n\n**User focused**\nYou will be working with clients to create products that solve real problems for their users. You should always be thinking about the people using the software you design and make thoughtful considerations for things like error messages, empty states, and edge cases.\n\n**Eye for aesthetics**\nWe create software that solves problems and looks great doing it (nobody wants to use ugly software!). You should be a creative visual designer with an understanding of how aesthetics impact user experience and perception.\n\n**Accepting of feedback**\nWe believe sharing and getting feedback on designs early and often produces the best work. You should seek out feedback on your ideas as a way to push your work to the best it can be.\n\n# Responsibilities\n
Youโll be working with clients and our lead designer, Austin, to take ideas through a full design process that includes wireframes and high-fidelity, interactive prototypes. This will be a mix of new products and new features for existing products. Your work will likely focus more on taking a design from wireframes to high-fidelity prototype. We primarily use Figma for wireframing and prototyping, but make sure to use the best tool for the job.\n\nThis role will be joining our lead designer as our first addition to the design team. This means youโll have a lot room from growth and influence as we continue growing the design team.\n\n**Your full responsibilities will include:**\n\n* Producing wireframes and high-fidelity, interactive prototypes for new products and features (we currently use Figma for designing and collaborating)\n* Working with other Kritters to ideate and explore design directions for new products\n* Writing microcopy for your designs\n* Participating in design critiques with the Krit team and with clients\n* Working with developers to help them understand and implement your designs\n* Learning to code your designs in HTML and CSS\n\n\n**At Krit, you wonโt be responsible for:**\n\n* Branding and creative direction\n* Project management\n\n\n**Youโll be a human, not a number**\nWhile weโre not perfect, we are super passionate about creating a great place to work. Weโre striving to build a culture thatโs respectful, kind, supportive, and challenging. You wonโt just be a number hereโyouโll have a measurable impact on the direction of the business.\n\n**Youโll be a part of an inclusive, transparent company**\nOne of our goals is to build a more diverse company. To us, this means diversity of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, and national origin. We strongly believe in building an inclusive workplace where everyone feels safe and invited. We are also a fully transparent company. We share our finances, salaries, pipeline, and more. \n\nPlease mention the words **REOPEN TROUBLE LIST** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMy44NS42My4xOTA=). # How do you apply?\n\nFirst, submit an application. If we think you could bring something new to the team, weโll schedule a short, 30-minute phone interview with Andrew. During this time, youโll get to know each other and dive into your background. If the phone interview indicates youโre a good addition to the team, weโll schedule a more in-depth design interview with our team. There will be no homework or design exercise for you to do, we just want to get a good idea of how you approach design.\n\nThe design interview will consist of 3 parts:\n\n1. Get to know some other Kritters and talk about your past experience and projects.\n2. Case study - Youโll come prepared with two of your previous projects and walk us through your process for each.\n3. Design jam - Weโll present a project in progress and ideate on solutions. This is to get an idea of how you approach the design process.\n\nThere isnโt a design exercise portion of the interview, but you will be expected to communicate effectively and participate in design exploration discussion.\n\nWeโre looking to fill this position by September 1. During the process weโll do our best to let you know if itโs not going to be a good fit. Thank you for taking the time to read this far, we canโt wait to meet you!
