We're looking for a Data Scientist/Machine Learning Engineer with a wide range of competencies. Rainforest is changing the way people do QA and data is at the heart of how we do that. From crowd management and fraud detection to data visualization and automation research, there are myriad opportunities to use your creativity and technical skills.\n\nWe are looking for someone who learns quickly and is a great communicator. Since we are a remote, distributed development team, decent writing skills and(over)communication is important to us. You can be based anywhere in the world (including San Francisco, where our HQ is located).\nWe regularly send our data scientists to conferences, both [to speak](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_h8PElXio8) and just learn (e.g. last year we went to NIPS and KDD, this year to Europython and a couple of [PyDatas](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kL71zk4KNk)). You can read about some of our work on [predicting test run durations](https://www.rainforestqa.com/blog/2017-11-07-how-to-predict-and-reduce-test-execution-time/) and how [Kaggle](https://www.rainforestqa.com/blog/2017-10-24-kaggle-perks-in-real-data-science-work/) can be useful in the real world. And hear some of our team members speak on the topic of Women, Company Culture, and Remote Teams [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwKHfPgLcBY). \n\n

Strong Generalist Who Is Very Good Conducto

Python

This job post is closed and the position is probably filled. Please do not apply.
\nConducto enables developers and data scientists to write, execute, visualize, and debug pipelines. We strive to empower users to go from pipeline idea to massively scalable and easily debugged execution with minimal friction. Conducto works equally well for quick exploratory data science research pipelines and mission-critical production devops pipelines. It scales seamlessly from a handful of tasks to millions. Almost every developer and data scientist needs to create pipelines, and we believe that no currently available tool solves that problem as generally or elegantly as Conducto.\n\nPrior to forming Conducto, we spent 10 years building the software that powered one of the most successful algorithmic trading teams in the world. We were really, really good. We succeeded because we built a team of technically strong, driven generalists who were excited to solve challenging problems. We have re-created that dynamic with our core team at Conducto, and are excited to grow the team.\n\nWe need motivated developers who can think critically and are not afraid to learn. You don't need to be a domain expert in any area, but you do need to be rock solid in Python. This role primarily deals with Python, Docker, Linux, and AWS.\n\nOur team is currently spread across the United States, from the East Coast to Hawai`i, and we have been an all-remote company since we started.\n\nIf you are excited to:\n\n\n* work with a team of solid and driven generalists\n\n* build a highly available web app with non-trivial cloud infrastructure\n\n* find the balance between building beautiful abstractions and actually deliver a product\n\n* join a fast-growing and exciting startup\n\n\n\n\nthen we encourage you to apply to join us. \n\nWe don't care where you went to school or what companies you have worked at. We aren't impressed by big names and buzzwords. We care about finding people who are great developers, are passionate to build this company, and will lean-in to a warm and collaborative company culture. We hope you will be a good match for the team.\n\nApplication Process:\nWe have to be very selective as we do not have the bandwidth to interview many candidates. So, if you apply and your resume and cover letter pass our initial review, we will invite you to take an online coding challenge. We will be interviewing a small number of candidates based on the results of that challenge.\n\nWe encourage you to try out Conducto and welcome pipeline submissions if you do take the time write one.

This job post is closed and the position is probably filled. Please do not apply.
\nRevl is seeking an experienced backend software generalist. We're looking for someone who knows algorithms, a few different languages, distributed systems, REST servers, Linux configuration, and maybe even some machine learning. If you want to be designing novel algorithms in C++ one day, writing Kotlin server code to expose your new algorithm as a REST endpoint the next, and then configuring the production deployment the day after that, then this is the opportunity for you!\n\nRevl makes auto-editing software and smart action cameras. Our customers are sky diving operations, big auto industry players, and zip line operators. What they all have in common is that they want to use our cameras to capture their client's experiences and then use our software to automatically turn all that footage into a great final edited video that they can sell to their customers. Our auto editing software is fast: a final rendered video is ready less than two minutes after the client has completed the experience! You can see our complete system in action here: https://youtu.be/8RmMQafi9Us.\n\nWe are well funded by several reputable VC's and Angel Investors including Y Combinator, Comcast Ventures, Frog Design Ventures, Luma Pictures, Bill Tai, and Lars Rasmussen. We offer competitive salary, early equity, and health insurance.\n\nWe are a distributed software team so you can be located anywhere in the USA. Our main office is a beautiful, commuter friendly space in SoMa San Francisco, where we also offer daily catered lunches for all local employees.

\nWe are the small but fast-growing product team at Moneythink, a tech nonprofit working to transform financial outcomes for low-to-moderate income young people. We’re achieving this goal by actually changing money behavior through compelling mobile apps that help our users form great habits. We already have a national network of college mentors that use our app hand-in-hand with a financial curriculum, but are also building toward the even broader future of our organization: deploying our apps to more age groups, and in more communities, through universities and other nonprofit organizations.\n\nWe’re looking for a senior-level, generalist Software Engineer who values our mission, empathizes with our users, and most importantly, wants to craft great things. We use Agile practices and test-driven development, partially because it just works better, but also because kids won’t tolerate buggy, slow apps at all. As a mission-driven organization that achieves that mission through software, we have to build the best we can, and we strive to improve all the time.\n\nDay-to-day, you might work on:\n\n\n* \n\nDeveloping a prototype app in React after a brainstorm session with our lead engineer, product manager, and designer\n\n\n* \n\nCreating a dashboard on a spare Mac Mini and monitor so that we can see live student posts on our app, MoneythinkMobile, at a glance\n\n\n* \n\nPairing on a new feature, assisting your fellow engineers to architect well-tested solutions\n\n\n* \n\nLearning a new framework or language\n\n\n* \n\nAdministering an existing app on AWS, or authoring a new Docker container for a new backend service for the application you’re building\n\n\n\n\n\nAs for our company, we shoot for “just enough” structure, which is Agile-based: you won’t spend an entire afternoon in an IPM, but we will point stories out quickly once a week and perform retrospectives. You’ll be given enough space to work (we’re located in a hard-working but fun co-working space), with access to whiteboards, phone booths, and meeting rooms, but we are also flexible on partial remote work. Everything else you might need is almost certainly checked off for you: Healthcare, dental, vision, and transit benefits are available and super easy to set up.\n\nWe have a slew of awesome national nonprofit partners, and a well-connected donor network in the financial industry. And we’re well-funded, with grants from international financial institutions like JPMorgan Chase, American Express, and Citi. Our CEO and Co-Founder, Ted Gonder, also recently served on the U.S. President's Advisory Council on Financial Capability for Young Americans.\n\nYou can read our full job description at https://moneythink.recruiterbox.com/jobs/fk0hgzn.\n\nYou might notice two things about this posting. First, that we don't provide equity - as a nonprofit, we simply can't. Second, we're not passing the Joel Test yet - we're working hard on closing out that last item, but we feel that you deserve our honesty.
