Creative Commons (CC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a globally-accessible public commons of knowledge and culture. We make it easier for people to share their creative works, whether academic, artistic, educational or other, as well as to access and build upon the works of others. By helping people and organizations share knowledge and creativity, we aim to build a more equitable, accessible, and innovative world. \n\nTo accomplish our goals, CC has created a global network of experts (the CC Global Network, or “CCGN”) consisting of members, advocates, and other supporters who share our values and goals, and with whom we collaborate in national and international fora in close collaboration with like-minded sister organizations. CC and the CCGN seek to increase and scale our impact and effectiveness globally, finding ways to create value for network members and society by promoting collaboration, mentorship, networking, and meaningful change. Fueling, supporting, motivating, and listening to the CCGN is paramount to scaling CC’s mission; this position is central to accomplishing these critical, shared goals. \n\nCreative Commons is looking for a Network Manager passionate about working with a global open community, open culture, open licensing, and the public domain. The Network Manager will report to the Director of Ecosystem Strategy and will work closely with the CCGN, the Open Policy Manager, and cross-organizationally, including with the CC Open Education, Communications, Legal, and GLAM teams.\n\nThis position will support and scale the Creative Commons Global Network. Three years after implementing the Creative Commons Global Network Strategy, the CCGN is in a crucial moment: having established the basic infrastructure (CC Chapters, Network Platforms and decision making committees), it’s now time to grow and leverage its potential. This position is an essential role to support, facilitate, plan and frame collaboration and connectivity across the CCGN and other groups in the open ecosystem. The Network Manager will be involved in development programs, projects, and opportunities to enhance the ability of the network to work together. \n\n\n# Responsibilities\n * Supporting the CCGN structure by, among other things:\n * Assisting the different formal CCGN structures (CC Chapters, Network Platforms, Committees) to accomplish their goals; \n * Helping facilitate meetings and prepare reports; and\n *Considering and recommending appropriate policies governing the CCGN structures.\n* Managing projects that enhance the ability of the network to work together, including organizing network-related tracks at the CC Global Summit. \n* Supporting promotion and collaboration in CC HQ-led initiatives, including communications outreach, campaigns (e.g., copyright reform, open education), and fundraising.\n* Leading onboarding of new members of the CCGN by building strong relationships between CC Chapters, sharing key information, identifying and facilitating opportunities for collaboration.\n* Facilitating member engagement through capacity development initiatives, developing corresponding tools and approaches.\n* Collecting and sharing information about existing CCGN members and CC Chapters: who they are; what they work on; what their interests are; successes and challenges.\n* Stimulating CC Chapters to communicate about their work through social media, connect CC Chapters with CC HQ communication staff.\n* Establishing and maintaining a high level of responsiveness and connection; facilitate warm connections in response to inquiries with CC staff, CCGN members, and partners.\n* Providing rapid responses to questions, and coordinate internal communications within CC HQ for CCGN members and partners. \n* Enhancing and scaling the impact of collaboration on the CCGN, supporting local projects and helping to share best practices and lessons learned. \n* Supporting and coordinating capacity-building for CCGN members and groups, with CC Chapter website templates, fundraising, social media and volunteer management. \n* Providing opportunities for those who are not always highly visible to be heard, promote and advocate for cultural diversity and gender equality in CC projects globally, including promoting diversity, equity and inclusion principles; support organizational change towards a more diverse, open culture.\n* Developing standardized materials for CC Chapters to support and foster collaboration, help them engage in the CCGN with CC HQ and each other.\n* Identifying opportunities for cross-collaboration projects and initiatives both inside the Network and with CC HQ. \n\n# Requirements\nThe ideal candidate will possess many of the following skills:\n\n* 3-5 years of experience in community management, working in a diverse distributed global community, or equivalent experience.\n* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse geographic, racial, ethnic, cultural, socioeconomic, and gender backgrounds.\n* Experience working with a diverse community of stakeholders, including open and collaborative online communities and networks across cultures and time zones. \n* The ability to successfully navigate challenging conversations among diverse groups and build consensus. \n* A critical mind that can prioritize the myriad opportunities to foster the CCGN, and identify and assist CC in focussing its resources toward opportunities where CC can provide value to its members, institutional members, and participants. \n* Experience network building at the local and national levels, with a thorough understanding of networking principles, particularly in the global south.\n* Independent thinking and analytical problem-solving abilities.\n* Self-motivated, self-starter, team player.\n* Fluency in verbal and written communication skills in English.\n* Comfortable working remotely.\n\n*The ideal candidate may also possess *\n* Additional language proficiency is very desirable, in particular, Spanish, French and/or Arabic.\n* Experience with fundraising \n\n#Salary\n$55,000\n \n\n#Location\n- 🌏Worldwide

Hakka Labs is looking for a Head of Marketing to be responsible for all marketing efforts across the Hakka Labs network internationally. Our flagship event is [DataEngConf](http://dataengconf.com), a deeply technical 2-day, multi-track conference at the intersection of data engineering, data science and AI.\n\n**The Role**\n\nThe Head of Marketing will report to our founder, and will work to develop our marketing strategy and continue to grow out our marketing team. You will be responsible for all branding, design, campaign development and execution, and community building aspects of our business. You’ll work with our team to craft our brand message and tell the unique story behind our events and our community.\n\nWe currently use email marketing, technical content (including blog posts, video & podcasts), social media, online community distribution (Hacker News, Reddit, Meetup, etc.) and on- and off-line partnerships to attract users to our events and grow our community. You will recommend adjustments to our current formula, test your own distribution hypotheses and experiments, and invest in the winners for maximum growth. You will design the systems and processes our team will implement to scale marketing, while building out more comprehensive analytics capabilities that drive a deeper understanding of our unit economics.\n\nIt’s an exciting time of growth for our business - we’re now launching events internationally and you’ll be an important part of our global expansion. Our main challenges are growing our core US events (annually in SF and NYC) while expanding to our next key markets of Europe (Barcelona, summer 2018) and Asia (2019).\n\n**Our Team & Approach**\n\nOur team is fully distributed and embraces the remote work lifestyle. You’ll have the freedom to work from your desired location while attending our conferences and building out our community worldwide.\n\nWe also strongly advocate the customer development model of the lean startup approach - our team is constantly exploring and testing ways to bring more value to our users. Our marketing and community building efforts are driven by a close connection to our customers. We use systems and design thinking to come up with new ways to solve challenging problems globally, not simply use the tired, old playbook of basic event marketing techniques.\n\n**Why Work with Us**\n\nWe're a scrappy-but-global-startup (operating a growing cash flow positive business!) that hails from the 500 Startups school of 'distribution hacking.’ We’re building a global community of highly demanded, deeply technical data professionals and academics.\n\nOur network is our prime asset, and our community is made up of data engineers and scientists from every major tech company, as well as many influential startups backed by YC, TechStars 500 Startups and top VCs.
