This team provides business intelligence services for various global business units associated with Sony Interactive Entertainment.\nWhat you'll be doing:\n\n\n* Provide 1st/2nd line support for the Production data processing platform, including response to and resolution of any failures, maintenance or upgrades\n\n* Proactive monitoring and troubleshooting of the platform\n\n* Undertake production releases into the platform\n\n* Ability to identify and automate manual tasks where you can make time or cost savings\n\n* Conduct code peer reviews with particular emphasis on operational aspects\n\n* Configuration management of code, covering versioning, deployments and building of tags\n\n* Investigation, management and prioritisation of any incidents or queries raised\n\n* Perform impact analysis, identifying ways to make operational improvements and make code changes to improve resilience or efficiency\n\n* Evaluate new capabilities built by vendors through PoC's or pilot projects\n\n* Liaise with data providers\n\n* Communication with end users and explanation of technical terms and concepts\n\n* Work with Scrum Masters, Developers and Product Owners to develop ideas and give updates on work\n\n* Acting as the first line advisory and support for end users on โHow-toโ questions\n\n* Liaising with vendor with follow up on technical issues\n\n\n\nWhat we're looking for:\n\n\n* 2+ years experience in UNIX, including shell scripting, admin and utilities.\n\n* Skilled in scripting (Python, Bash)\n\n* Skilled in Linux and comfortable in using command line\n\n* Understand ETL concepts with 2-3 years proven experience with an ETL tool (Ab-Initio preferred)\n\n* Demonstrable experience working on and supporting large-scale complex data processing platforms\n\n* Experience in working with SQL and large data volumes\n\n* Understanding of other data processing technologies and knowledge of data warehouse appliances, e.g. Snowflake (preferred)\n\n* Undertaking Production environment releases\n\n* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability\n\n* Interpersonal skills including presentation, negotiating, conflict resolution, etc\n\n* Strong communication skills\n\n* Proven abilities to work creatively and analytical in a problem-solving environment\n\n* Experience in a similar role, with proven expertise gained in complicated, business critical projects\n\n* Strong can-do attitude with an appetite for learning and developing further\n\n* English: Fluent\n\n\n\nDesirable:\n\n\n* Experience using AWS Cloud technology\n\n* Knowledge of business intelligence reporting suites\n\n* Appreciation of emerging and newer technologies\n\n* 1-2 years proven experience in using Airflow\n\n* Knowledge of JIRA and AGILE working practices\n\n* Knowledge of Jenkins\n\n* Knowledge of data science tools and techniques\n\n* Other programming languages\n\n\n\nBenefits:\n\n\n* Discretionary bonus opportunity\n\n* Hybrid Working (within Flexmodes)\n\n* Private Medical Insurance\n\n* Dental Scheme\n\n* 25 days holiday per year\n\n* On Site Gym\n\n* Subsidised Cafรฉ\n\n* Free soft drinks\n\n* On site bar\n\n* Access to cycle garage and showers\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
