{linebreak}Load Impact Engineers build next-generation, performance testing tools for other developers and DevOps engineers. Our open-source load testing platform, k6 is on the forefront of innovation in performance testing space. It is one of the trending projects on github, with over 4k stars.{linebreak}{linebreak}We embrace open source, and publish most of our “secret sauce” on github, for developers to review, edit and improve!{linebreak}{linebreak}As a Software Engineer you will work in a small team, and have ability to switch your role to DevOps, frontend or backend to keep things interesting. Load Impact is growing, and we encourage our engineers to grow with the company, and learn new technologies as the company expands. This is not a job where you do the same thing every day.{linebreak}{linebreak}This position is for our premium offering, a SaaS product available on loadimpact.com. We need your python expertise to expand the functionality and scale the service to match customer's expectations. {linebreak}{linebreak}Due to our small teams and fast development pace you will have a substantial and immediate impact on how the end product is architected, developed, and how the engineering team operates. Most importantly, you will work with competent colleagues and will be able to expand your knowledge and skills in different directions.{linebreak}{linebreak}Skills and requirements{linebreak}{linebreak}Expected:{linebreak}{linebreak}{linebreak}* You are best in class software engineer, or on your way there{linebreak}{linebreak}* Understand the in-and-outs of HTTP protocol and REST{linebreak}{linebreak}* Fluent in python{linebreak}{linebreak}* Experienced in server-side programming{linebreak}{linebreak}* Passion for quality code{linebreak}{linebreak}* Experience with microservice architecture run in the cloud{linebreak}{linebreak}{linebreak}{linebreak}{linebreak}It’s an advantage if you know:{linebreak}{linebreak}{linebreak}* Django{linebreak}{linebreak}* Timescaledb or other time series technologies{linebreak}{linebreak}* AWS / Cloud APIs{linebreak}{linebreak}* Docker and CI/CD workflow - ours is based on Github and CircleCI{linebreak}{linebreak}{linebreak}{linebreak}{linebreak}We accept remote applications. About 50% of us work remotely from USA, Brazil, Ukraine, Russia and Bulgaria, the rest of the team is located in Stockholm, Sweden. If you work locally, we expect you to be in the office on Mondays and Wednesdays. You can work remotely for the rest of the week :-){linebreak}{linebreak}About Load Impact{linebreak}{linebreak}Load Impact is the world’s most widely used online load testing service, with over 100,000 users from 190+ countries and over a million executed load tests - Google “web load test"!{linebreak}{linebreak}We are a small company but very experienced in developing applications for performance testing and monitoring. We started out as a software development consulting company way back in 2000, developing performance test and measurement software for customers such as Nasdaq and the European space agency. We wrote both hardcore, low-level networking software and high-level web user interfaces and became quite good at both of those things. We pride ourselves on understanding the lower levels of a networked application while at the same time realizing how incredibly important UX is. In 2009 we took the step and launched loadimpact.com, becoming a product company rather than a consulting company, and we have never looked back.{linebreak}{linebreak}Recruiting is ongoing. We will respond to your application immediately. If you don’t have a CV ready, don’t create one, send us a link to your Github/LinkedIn with a few sentences about yourself.

{linebreak}We are looking for a DevOps and Python developer to join our engineering team. The backend developers are responsible for developing our Django and Flask based APIs and the microservices that together make up our cloud based platform. The backend team is also responsible for the infrastructure code (Terraform) and deployment pipeline (CircleCI + Docker + AWS). The entire engineering team shares responsibility for monitoring, debugging and on-call rotation.{linebreak}{linebreak}We believe developers should take ownership of their code from planning to release, making sure it stays performant and reliable. We release code by pushing to Github from where our CD pipeline takes over. We also encourage open source involvement and take time to contribute changes back upstream when we make improvements to our dependencies.{linebreak}{linebreak}It’s an exciting time to join the company as we’re just about to release the next generation of Load Impact, built on top of our new open source load generator, called k6, which is written in Go and scriptable in ES6 JS.{linebreak}{linebreak}We are a small team and value team players with good communication skills. We have an agile way of working where collaboration, feedback and trust are important aspects. We try to minimize meetings and work asynchronously using Trello, Github, CircleCI and Slack. We have a policy of working from the office two days a week, and the other three you’re free to work from home or wherever you feel most productive.{linebreak}{linebreak}This position is for our office located in Stockholm, Sweden.{linebreak}{linebreak}At Load Impact English is the default language, we are made up of people from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Russia, Spain, Sweden and the US.

The city is attracting more and more world-class IT entrepreneurs and developers - it is a very dynamic environment to work in, with a lot of industry colleagues to hang out with and learn from. Our office is very centrally located, by the way, with a fantastic view of the city harbour :){linebreak}{linebreak}At Load Impact English is the default language, we are made up of people from Canada, Spain, Sweden and the US.
