The System Support Specialist (Help Desk Technician)'s role is to improve the productivity of CoStar employees by providing a single point of contact for problem resolution and information. This is accomplished through diagnosis, identification and resolution of problems with hardware, third-party and proprietary software, LANs and servers in a timely and professional manner via telephone, email communication, and hands-on support.\n\nObjectives\n\n• Provides guidance, assistance, coordination and follow up on client questions, problems or malfunctions of all systems applications, hardware and software installed and maintained by the company\n• Participant in telephone support rotation providing support to users in offices across the US via remote assistance tools\n• Document problems and solutions in help desk ticketing system\n• Inform management of potential problems and identifies problem trends\n• Install, modify, and make minor repairs to computer hardware and software systems\n• Create and maintain workstation images\n• Install hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, disk drives etc.\n• Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance and upgrade of computer hardware and software\n• Provide support for audio-visual systems including repair and/or replacement of projectors, etc.\n• Videoconference administration and support\n• Maintain and support local telecom system\n• Other duties and special projects as assigned\n\nCompetencies, Knowledge & Skills\n\n• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in IT or related field of study\n• Minimum of 1-year Help Desk experience\n• Ability to perform diagnostics, identify problems and provide resolutions\n• Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work in a team environment\n• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to clearly communicate technical guidance and instructions to users via telephone and email\n• Excellent time management skills\n• Able to handle stress and multiple projects with competing interests for time\n• Experience implementing TCP/IP at the workstation level\n• Knowledge/experience supporting Windows 7 workstations, Active Directory, Microsoft Office Suites and Windows File Permissions\n• Ability to lift/move equipment up to 100 lbs\n\nFinancial Benefits\n\n• CoStar offers a competitive base salary and benefits which include:\n• Comprehensive medical, dental, prescription and vision benefits with a choice of two plans of which CoStar covers 90%.\n• Company-paid life insurance for one time's your annual base salary to a maximum of $300,000 per year. \n• Company-paid long-term and short-term disability benefits. \n• 12 days accrued paid vacation 1st year, 15 days after 2 years, and 20 days after 4 years + 5 days sick leave and 2 personal days per year.\n• Matching 401K\n\n\nEqual Opportunity Employer of Minorities, Females, Protected Veterans, and Individual with Disabilities.
