HTML to WordPress (http://htmltowordpress.io) is a powerful, yet simple webapp that converts any HTML website to a WordPress theme - revolutionising the way WordPress websites are being created.

Why are we doing this (aka “the problem”)?
Maintaining and extending static HTML sites is cumbersome for non-technical people
Converting a static HTML design into a working WordPress theme takes too much time
It’s too expensive to pay a developer in-house or outsource the conversion development
No easy or effective way exists to automate this process

HTML to WordPress offers a premium quality solution to these problems for a fraction of the usual costs involved.

There are 50,000 WordPress websites being created each day and we’re on a mission to capture that market. We’ve already converted thousands of websites and cannot keep up with demand of requested features and improvements. This is where you come in: we’re looking for a full-stack web developer with a focus and interest on backend technologies to take our cloud-based conversion process to the next level.

Because of our early stage you’ll get to make influential decisions and have impact over how to approach any given problem. As such you’ll be a very important team member of an early stage startup and make a difference to the culture as well as the product greatly.

Skill requirements:
Focused on backend technologies with deep knowledge of PHP and WordPress theme/plugin development
In-depth knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
Passion for automating repetitive tasks, solving dynamic challenges and building highly scalable systems

Mentality requirements:
Startup experience preferred
A scrappy, ‘lets get shit done’ attitude that completes quality projects quickly
Passion for great user experiences, with a LEAN and analytics driven attitude
Confidence learning new things and programming languages, we love generalists
Driven, focused self-starters who take ownership of their work
Detail focused with a structured approach to delivering code
You want to conquer the fucking world and aren't afraid to go after it with us!

Bonus points if you have:
Experience with Composer, npm, Bower, Gulp, Git and LAMP
Insightful opinions about systems architecture
Ability to find and debug a variety of problems during emergency situations

You will be compensated with an equity/salary package that is negotiated with the chosen candidate. Four year vesting period with a one year cliff. We’re currently self-funded, but looking to join an accelerator and/or seed funding. In such case it would be preferable for you to be available to move to another country for 3 - 6 months with the rest of the team.

Do you thrive on high-quality code?

8-) is a danish company, that currently consists of a few different projects, all developed in PHP and as WordPress plugins. We currently have two main projects that we’re building, and we love testing out new solutions and playing around with new technologies.

Our Projects

Affiliate Plug.in

Affiliate Plug.in is the oldest project. It’s a project that has been running since 2011, where the initial development began. The core features are creating price comparisons, by scraping webshops, primarily within the affiliate marketing industry.

The plugin is currently in it’s second version, but the development of v3 has begun, and is a rewrite from scratch, where the initial architecture has been defined.

Currently, Affiliate Plug.in only operates in Denmark, but the international potential is there, and with v3 we’re going all-in on the international approach.

TTF

TTF is the other main project of 8-). The development has just begun a month ago, and the initial thoughts about the architecture has just begun.

The project is essentially an analysis-platform, that calculates a set of results based on a lot of user input, through a formula created on a WordPress site.

The system is a bit unusual in the WordPress sense, since we’re using MongoDB as our data storage.

So far the project is still in it’s initial phase, so you’ll have great opportunities to impact the actual architecture and development in the future.

The skill set of the ideal candidate

We’re looking for a person to assist and take a leading role in developing the projects, alongside our current developer (and co-founder).

The requirements for this position are:

  • PHP, ninja-level
  • Git
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • WordPress

You do not have to be a WordPress export, but some knowledge about how WP is build, would be preferable.

As a bonus, but not a requirement, we’d love for you to have some experience with:

  • MongoDB
  • LESS/SCSS
  • Building WP Plugins/Themes
  • AngularJS

    The Team

Currently we are a team of 4 people. Lars is the original founder and developer of Affiliate Plug.in. Lasse teamed up with Lars and they founded 8-) together. Lasse has a background with online marketing.

On a daily basis, they’re working at DuGlemmerDetAldrig.dk, a danish startup which Lasse founded in 2012. Currently DGDA is a team of 11 people, whereas Lars, Leo and Jonathan are the developers and form the ‘technical team’.

Both Leo and Jonathan are also working on the TTF project at the moment, and you will be working with all 4 (Lars, Lasse, Leo and Jonathan) in your work with both Affiliate Plug.in and TTF.

This is a fully remote position

We’re looking for talented, experienced web application developers interested in tackling a wide array of problems. To build the best product and technology, you must have a deep understanding of how all parts of the system work. If you're a specialist with deep knowledge in a particular area and interested in learning about other parts of the stack, or a generalist who loves going deep on all sorts of problems, you’ll fit right in.

We’re in a very exciting time here at MemberMouse because we're growing faster than ever and are facing some interesting, difficult problems that we’re not yet sure how we’re going to solve. Not only will you be working on a product and technology that hundreds of thousands of people use each day, you’ll be helping to define it.

The most common way that something gets done at MemberMouse is as follows: someone has an idea, they share it with the team, they collaboratively refine what it should be, and they go build it. People are their own project managers, and this works because everybody on the team understands our business and what's important to us and to our customers. You will have lots of autonomy and a huge impact on our business.

We pride ourselves on being flexible, but there are some things we feel very strongly about:

  • Do it right. We focus on the long term. We love to be productive, but deadlines are the first thing to be sacrificed in the name of quality!

  • Simplicity over everything. If you're smart enough to write 100s of lines of clever spaghetti code, you should be smart enough to realize that someone will probably break it later. It can be hard to make things simple and elegant, but it’s worth the effort and the time.

  • Great teams are better than the all-star players. No matter how great someone's ideas, they'll be improved upon through collaboration with other stellar engineers.

  • Understand the whole business. Great software isn’t built in a vacuum -- it requires hard work from extremely smart people across many disciplines and an understanding of how it all fits together.

  • Have fun. In order to produce exceptional work, you have to love what you do.

Technical requirements for this position:

  • Passion for the craft and dedication to producing a quality product

  • LAMP (5+ years) with strong PHP Object Oriented programming skills

  • Understanding of common design patterns and PHP development best practices

  • Experience working with a wide range of APIs (XML,JSON)

  • Familiarity with security best practices for web development

  • Strong SQL query writing skills (preferably with MySQL)

  • Comfort writing Javascript and experience with the jQuery framework

  • Solid experience with cross-platform, browser compliant HTML (HTML5 a plus)

  • Strong work ethic along with the ability to efficiently work remotely to meet project timeframes and specifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Working knowledge of SVN

  • Experience working with WordPress/WordPress plugins

Desirable Skills:

  • Linux server administration

  • Experience with Amazon EC2/S3/RDS

  • Working knowledge of CSS

Since you've made it this far, here's why we think you should join us:

  • Working with highly motivated, ambitious, upbeat people on challenging problems is what makes work great. That’s what we love!

  • We are profitable, growing and are privately held, so we have the luxury of being able to do what best serves the long-term interests of the company.

  • This is a fully remote position so you'll be able to work from whenever you have a computer and internet.

  • We offer competitive compensation and flexible vacation schedule

If we sound fun and interesting to you, please apply with some links (e.g. GitHub, Twitter) or attachments (e.g. non-public code, technical writings) that will help us understand your background.

Lift (www.liftux.com) is a user experience design and development company that works with large and small clients across the globe on fun and exciting projects, as well as commercial software products with WordPress, an open-source content management system powering over 20% of CMS-powered websites on the Internet. The products we build are UpThemes, ChurchThemes and Faithmade. Our team is distributed across the country but our primary office is located in McKinney, TX, which ranked #1 on Money Magazine's list of Top Places to Live for 2014.

What's great about working at Lift?

This is a very different type of company. We believe there's more to life than being chained to a computer desk and working 80 hours a week. Our philosophy on work is to allow people to do what they love and it won't feel like "work" at all. When a company can achieve that, team members feel more like part of a family and less like employee #372.

Our work has won Social TV awards and even been nominated for an Emmy. We've created major interactive projects for huge cult-following television shows like Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead and have performed redesigns for high-traffic sites like IFC.com, thenextweb.com, and eBay's Daily Deals blog.

The Job

This position is in our McKinney office but we do have remote work opportunities available as well. You will be working with clients as well as with our commercial WordPress products. In addition to working with WordPress, we also create custom web applications and design delightful user experiences for Fortune 500 companies. You would be responsible for key architectural decisions and writing clean, secure, reusable code.

Responsibilities

  • Architect enterprise-level solutions for clients
  • Create and maintain WordPress plugins and themes
  • Develop requirements, documentation and use cases
  • Advise sales team on estimates and proposals for future projects
  • Create unit tests and automation tools
  • Collaborate with clients and other team members on various projects
  • Maintain well-documented, reusable, and high-quality code
  • Maintain working knowledge of new development software, trends, and best practices

    Qualifications

  • Contributions to WordPress Core
  • Expert knowledge of WordPress, PHP, & MySQL
  • Expert knowledge of caching/scalability within WordPress and custom web applications
  • Expert-level understanding of scalability with WordPress and MySQL
  • Good knowledge of version control (both Git & Subversion)
  • Good knowledge of Javascript (jQuery, AJAX, etc.)
  • Strong oral & written communication skills

    The Perks

Competitive salary, a retina Macbook Pro, unlimited vacation/sick days, remote work environment, flexible hours, trips to conferences/events, team hack weeks, health/life insurance, travel to NYC.

Why we need a developer...

Simple: We’re growing.
We do great work and have a great team. Our clients love us, and keep referring us new work. We're simply trying to stay ahead of it. We've been named one of Utah's fastest growing companies for the last 3 years and it does not appear to be slowing down any time soon.  We are really looking for developers based in Utah.

What kind of developer do we want?

To us, a developer is someone who can write custom, compact and efficient PHP from scratch and transform WordPress from it’s default settings into a secure, scalable and organized set of blazingly fast custom functionality.  And above all, someone who can deliver beautifully efficient, clean code.  Code that we're not embarrased to show clients, code that is so well organized it'd make a great coffee table book. Code so pretty you'd pin it.

Who are we? http://goodwin.media

CSS — Sass / Less

HTML5 — Clean, semantic, valid HTML

JS — jQuery, Angular / ReactJS

UI / UX — Experience and passion to create beautiful work. (You don't need to know photoshop, but please don't kill great design during development because you don't notice the details.)

QA — Writing clean code and testing it throughout the development process to ensure the quality is up to standards. Clients shouldn't find our bugs.

What we look for:

Portfolio — Examples of start-to-finish responsive WordPress development for beautiful web apps and marketing sites

We are Advant Interactive, a group of design and developer nerds. We’re a small bunch so far but we have plans for world domination. We’re based in Long Beach, just a Kobe 3-pointer from the beach, and a taxi ride from the heart of LA. We are on the lookout for an individual who seeks a position at the cutting edge of web development. All candidates must work with speed and enjoy sweating over tight deadlines. They must live to code and not be happy until they’ve seen a project through from insemination to birth to that first day at kindergarten.

Who are you? The dude (or dudette) for the role should have a minimum of two years in the world of web development, with a portfolio that’s likely to blow our socks off.

Because we live in the virtual world, it does not matter where you reside, as long as you are available during business hours. Still reading?

Can you tick these boxes?

● You are a Wordpress Whiz. You can hit the ground running with hand coding custom WordPress themes and all sorts of plugin development - or even create your own!
● You know WooCommerce like the back of your hand
● You are experienced working with basic PHP tasks
● You’re a dab hand in JavaScript/jQuery (If you can write plugins as well then that’s a bonus, but you must be able to write and implement small-to-medium scripts at least)
● You’re an old pro in writing raw HTML and CSS (especially HTML5 and CSS3)
● You’re used to developing in a LAMP environment
● You’re on-the-button with current Web standards, optimization techniques and best practices
● You’re full of knowledge regarding Twitter Bootstrap and Foundation
● You’re a web developer with two or more years of industry experience

And it goes without saying You can both talk the talk and walk the walk. You have 20:20 vision when it comes to fine details. You consider missing a deadline one of the seven deadly sins. If you’ve gotten this far, you could be just what we’re looking for. Send us your portfolio and we’ll talk.

After an initial trial-period, we will consider you for a full-time position.

The Opportunity

Agentfire.com is looking a talented WordPress theme / plugin / frontend developer.

Most of the work will deal with Plugin Development / Troubleshooting / Maintaing our numerous WordPress Multisite Environments - that being said we will require someone with expert level WordPress experience, expert in PHP, MYSQL and Java, and high level CSS.

Experience with Wordpress Multisite is a big plus, as our company consists of about 200 client websites spread over 3 different WordPress multisites. Experience with server admin is another plus.

For an example of a plugin you’ll be expected to maintain and continue to help advance, view here: http://www.agentfire.com/website-package/hyper-local-area-seo/

Because we run a lot of multisites, there are constant bugs that we’ll need you to quickly and effectively troubleshoot.

If you’re applying for this job, we would love to see examples of your plugin code - ideally public plugins. Currently we have one other developer and you’ll be expected to work with them and ensure that your code integrates into our existing stuff.

We are a relatively small company (currently only 1 other developer) - and so we’re looking for someone that become a very central piece in everything we do!

The Company

Agentfire.com provides a complete Wordpress ‘real estate’ solution to our clients across the US and Canada - the package includes numerous 3rd party plugins and proprietary plugins that we ourselves have developed.

We’re looking to bring on a second developer because we’re looking to innovate even more within the space and finish current development at a faster rate.

We’re an extremely fun group to work with and believe that you should be happy working with our team. The biggest thing we’re looking for in an applicant is someone who is self sufficient - this means that if you’re tasked with an objective, you should be resourceful in finding ways to accomplish that objective. We’re also really looking for someone who works fast, but carefully, and takes pride in what they do.

Team Requirements

Our team loves working with one another because there is mutual respect and everyone here takes a huge amount of pride in what they do. You will be working with one other developer. To be on our team, you must be:

  • Helpful: Always looking for ways that you can help others.Happy: It's actually very important to us that you are happy working with our company, and we will do our best to ensure that!
  • Innovative: We need someone that can take the ball and run with it.
  • Accountable: We need things done efficiently and on time!

    Location

Location does not matter - although ideally we’re looking for someone that can work ‘close’ to EST hours. An idea would a workday somewhere in between 9am and 11pm EST (so 8 hours in between there, for example 1pm-8pm would work)

    Responsibilities

  • Architect and document plugin solutions using best practices
  • Effectively manage and coordinate maintenance across our numerous WordPress Multisite environments (all hosted on WPEngine)
  • Coordinate with our team (other developers, etc)
  • Produce code solutions that load quickly and smoothly
  • Work with our team to architect most effective solutions

Come work with crazy smart engineers in the best office in Boston. (Or remotely in EST, CST, MST, or PST. It’s up to you.)

We’re looking for an awesome middle software engineer to help us build web sites and applications for some of the world’s major brands. Millions of people use the projects we work on every month, and everyone in your family will know the clients we work on.

We are one of the few agencies that know how to manage a technology project (our founder literally wrote the book on it). That means you work on fully baked requirements, are part of the estimate process, and aren’t blamed for late projects with unrealistic schedules.

We are a fast growing services start up. We work with open source PHP frameworks like Drupal, Magento, Silex, Laravel, and Symfony. We love SASS, front-end performance, and tasty craft beer.

Please no staffing agencies or contractors.

Responsibilities:

  • Build web sites and applications for a range of clients using open source tools like Drupal, Magento, Laravel, Silex, Wordpress, Symfony, Jekyll, and others.
  • Learn fun new technologies that go beyond the typical Drupal/CMS stack.
  • Work with great project managers, designers (graphic, UX, and otherwise), and other developers.

    Qualifications:

  • Smart.
  • At least a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Eligible to work in the US.
  • Three years minimum experience with HTML/CSS, PHP, JS, and a relational database system, like MySQL.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience with Drupal, Git, and Drush are a plus.

    Perks!

  • Casual dress.
  • Cool office space in Kendall Square half a block from the T stop.
  • Free fresh fruit, snacks, coffee, tea, soda on tap, juice, and ramen.
  • Stocked fridge with free craft beer.
  • Free yearly pair of flip-flops every spring.

    Compensation:

Your salary will depend on your qualifications. All employees enjoy:

  • 100% employer-paid medical insurance
  • Paid vacation and sick leave
  • MBTA Monthly LinkPass

    Location:

Our office is in Cambridge, MA (one block from the Kendall/MIT Red Line station).

contract (20 - 30 hours/week) - REMOTE (US only)

Our remote team is all around the USA. We need to find more WordPress developers!

We're looking for PHP developer who also know WordPress well. You understand WP’s strengths, and its weaknesses. You know when to leverage 3rd party services, that do things WordPress doesn’t do well.

You’ve written plugins large and small. Your code is OOP, where it makes sense with WordPress. You know when to build custom plugins, or extend publicly available ones.

You’ve built themes from scratch, maybe you even have your own skeleton theme you start from.

You have experience with scaling PHP web apps, and debugging WordPress bottlenecks. You’re comfortable with live sites with lots of users that process real customer credit cards.

You’re detail-oriented, and comfortable QAing your own work.

You collaborate with others, and like helping out team members, and sharing ideas.

We use Bootstrap, Sass, Advanced Custom Fields, Timber with Twig, Woocommerce, git, and we’re looking for help streamlining our dev process.

The pay is hourly, and very competitive. The hours are 20 - 40/week, every week. We work mostly during normal business hours, and you should too.

We’re looking for developers in the US or Canada, who can communicate well in English, written and spoken. We welcome all genders, races, etc. All we care about is that you love nerding out with PHP and WordPress!

Reaktiv Studios is on the lookout for a senior developer to join us in providing and maintaining bespoke WordPress solutions to our valued clients. This is not an entry-level developer position; candidates need to be able to jump into complex code scenarios and hit the ground running. We’re not all tied-up in years, but typically this is a developer with five or more years of relevant development experience.

You likely call yourself a full-stack developer.

Let us tell you what that means.

Our ideal developer is skilled at ALL of the following:

  • PHP
  • Javascript
  • MySQL
  • CSS and CSS pre-processors
  • Git and similar version control tools.

You’re equally comfortable painting the car and building the engine (from scratch). Familiarity with WordPress is a bonus, but not a must.

As Reaktiv is a 100% remote company, the ideal candidate has experience managing that arrangement. Self-motivated and a good communicator– these are key traits we will be looking for in an individual.

We are a lean and mean company, but we’re proud to offer a competitive compensation package that includes paid time off, a flexible work schedule, and continued education (conferences, training seminars, books, etc.).

Please, United States-based candidates only, and no recruiters.
