Everyone participates in a company performance-based bonus plan. MaxMind offers a $2,000 professional development budget and five days for professional development annually.\n\nIn addition to medical, dental, and vision coverage, we offer several other benefits in the US, including a 401k with employer contribution, Health Savings Account, Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account, paid parental leave, and a public transit reimbursement. Please inquire about benefits in Canada.\n\nDiversity and Inclusion\n\nWe're committed to diversity and inclusion and are mindful of incorporating them into all aspects of our company. New ideas and perspectives come from diverse ways of seeing and thinking. MaxMind is sensitive to all individuals and viewpoints and believes everyone’s contributions and opinions are valuable assets to our team.\n\nWe hold regular diversity and inclusion meetings and conduct informative sessions on improving collaboration and communication. We value bringing individuals and different perspectives together within and across every department.\n\nWe encourage and sincerely welcome applications from candidates of color, women, queer candidates, candidates with family caregiving responsibilities, transgender candidates, and from other communities not well represented in the tech world.\n\nIf you have suggestions on how we may better promote or express our commitment to diversity and inclusion, we would love to hear from you. Please send your suggestions to [email protected]\n\nResumes without cover letters will not be considered. We want to know about you, please share any software projects or accomplishments and include a link so we can learn more. One of the first steps in our interviewing process is a homework assignment, and we will ask you to submit an example of work which reflects your technical practices.\n\nNote: We will consider you for MaxMind if you work from anywhere in Canada or the United States except NJ, NY, and TX (for regulatory reasons). We are open to relocation if that is an option for you. We require you to be eligible/authorized to work in USA or Canada.

Can you help us automate our infrastructure and help us build our first SaaS product?\n\nWe like to build stuff… sometimes complicated stuff… for Non Profits, Charities and Art Galleries. We’re on the lookout for a confident and ambitious Devops / Sysadmin to join our fast growing startup to help us automate our development processes and build our first SaaS product.\n\nWe do things a little differently, basing all our solutions on open source products offer a great work-life balance with flexible working hours and a real team mentality.\n\nOur work covers web design, app development and branding for Charities and non-profit organisations across the country. Our clients include Charities such as Wikimedia and Farm Africa, art galleries such as the Photographers Gallery and Craft Central but also companies, trade associations and government bodies. We mainly work on the Drupal platform, but someone with a wide range of interests would be favourable.\n\nWe are looking for someone to join the team with the vision to help us automate our infrastructure so that everything runs like clockwork. That will involve:\n\n- Automating tasks such as security and deployment releases, site updates and server maintenance using tools such as Jenkins, Chef, Puppet, Ansible etc\n\n- Be the key architect in helping us to develop a robust SaaS platform for a really significant Drupal project for the not for profit sector that we are currently working on.\n\n- Integrating with Hipchat and developing an inhouse Hubot (or similar).\n\n- Develop command line tools to simplify developer tasks such as cloning client sites to local environments.\n\n- There will also be the opportunity to get involved with data migration, data integration, database tuning and management and the ideal candidate would have existing MySQL (or similar) experience. \n\nIf you live and breath Linux and love reconfiguring Web servers for the LEMP/LAMP stack until they are as secure as a rock but would also enjoy the challenge of developing a new SaaS platform on AWS then we would love to hear from you.\n\nKey skills we are looking for:\n\n– Excellent Linux administration skills.\n– Some Web server experience (NGINX preferable, Apache useful).\n– Some DB admin experience (Mysql or equivalent).\n– Some experience with cloud technologies AWS/Open stack.\n– Previous experience with CI/DevOps tools platforms (i.e. Jenkins, Chef, Puppet, Ansible).\n– Good Git skills (comfortable preparing release branches).\n– Previous PHP deployment automation desirable.\n– Some experience/Knowledge in monitoring tools.\n– Strong collaboration, written and verbal skills.\n\nWhat were looking for is someone who can grasp concepts quickly, has great attention to detail, and most importantly loves a tech challenge. In short, we’re a team of self confessed geeks who love tinkering and tweaking until something is just right and are looking for someone who thinks and acts like us.\n\nExtra tags: devops, sysadmin, puppet, hubot, drupal, saas
