\nThe team\n\nOur Product Development team consists of around 50 very talented, motivated and humble product managers, engineers, designers and music experts. We strongly believe in Product-Led Growth where product itself is the primary driver of customer acquisition, conversion and expansion. To support that journey we are now strengthening our Growth Engineering team. \n\nGrowth Engineering is focused on online customer activation and conversion. Today’s customers want to try before they buy a service, so the team constantly optimises our acquisition funnel to make it compelling but also easy to start a trial. During the trial the team focuses on giving new customers a great experience where they quickly find value in our service. Growth Engineering collaborates frequently with many other teams such as Analytics, Product Experience and Business Systems. Business Systems plays a key role since payments are such an instrumental part in subscription services covering everything from product packaging, trials, promotions and payment methods. \n\nWe strongly believe in self-organizing, autonomous teams with a high degree of responsibility, accountability and freedom. Therefore you will be involved in the team’s key decisions, both in architecture and development process, and share the responsibility to deliver superb solutions with your extremely dedicated colleagues.\n\nWe are a data driven company that combines larger strategic projects with smaller incremental improvements that fuels our different A/B tests. To do so, we utilize a variety of programming languages and platforms. Our services are written in Go, Scala and Elixir running on the Google Cloud Platform (App Engine and Kubernetes) and are tied together via REST, GraphQL, gRPC and PubSub. We utilize Cloud SQL and Cloud Firestore as our transactional data services. For monitoring and logging, we rely heavily on Loki and Grafana. For data processing, analysis and reporting we use Google Dataflow, BigQuery, DataStudio and Tableau. Our front-end is written in JavaScript (ES6) and built around React and Redux. All our teams are full-stack oriented and are responsible for a particular domain end-to-end. In this particular role, you will mostly work with back-end services written in Go either running on AppEngine or on Kubernetes, but you will also work with monitoring, logging and data processing/analysis. We strongly believe in infrastructure as code, why we define and create all our services’ infrastructure using Terraform. \n\nYou\n\nYou're friendly, pragmatic, professional, precise and fun to work with. Also, you are probably comfortable with describing yourself as:\n\n\n* An excellent communicator – inside the team, as well as outside of it. You love to discuss different solutions and strategies for technical challenges.\n\n* Being used to working independently and planning your own time and efforts.\n\n* Believing that having diversity in perspective and experience will make for a better workplace for employees and a better product for our users.\n\n* A person with an agile mindset who is comfortable thinking outside the box.\n\n* An open person who says what you mean and means what you say.\n\n* Ready to get your hands dirty and join a team of doers!\n\n\n\n\nRequired experience\n\n\n* Strong background in software engineering, e.g., a CS degree or equivalent fundamentals.\n\n* A business oriented approach when it comes to data modelling, monitoring and analysis.\n\n* Professional experience of one or several relevant areas:\n\n\n\n* Designing, building and scaling robust, integration heavy, distributed systems and microservice using REST or gRPC.\n\n* Cloud-based back-end services using serverless technologies like Google AppEngine or Kubernetes.\n\n* Data modeling and processing services like CloudSql, Firestore, BigQuery and Apache Beam (Dataflow).\n\n* Business oriented auditing and observability using Grafana and Prometheus/Loki.\n\n* Experience with unit, integration and load testing.\n\n* Familiar with agile development methods like Scrum or Kanban or variations thereof.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTicked some or most of the boxes above? Then don't hesitate to apply!

\nJoin our teams - Alpha One, Magic, FlaminGo, Dystopia, Discovery and Sygaldry and work, learn, play and grow together with a bunch of experienced developers (and music enthusiasts) while creating a music ecosystem that works to the advantage of all participants.\n\nWHAT UTOPIANS DO\n\nWe are building a better world for music with innovative big data technology that tracks online music sources and translates them into meaningful music consumption reports for royalty collection. The solution we’re building does not threaten to usurp the role of industry incumbents - it is about bringing transparency in the industry and supporting efficient royalty collection.\n\nWHAT YOUR ROLE WILL BE\n\nAs a developer you’ll work in one of our teams consisting of 3-4 developers, an agile project manager and a lead developer. We are starting every morning with (a breakfast when at the office, then) a stand up and concluding sprints with a review and retrospective. \n\nYou’ll be working on our backend system and its continuous development. With your teammates you’ll be solving heavy database related challenges and you’ll be continuously making an impact.\n\nAt Utopia we support your learning and growth as an individual and a developer by daily knowledge transfer, pair programming and mob programming sessions within the team as well as external seminars and education.\n\nWHAT SKILLS YOU NEED\n\nWe are not dogmatic about tech stack and we welcome experienced developers with different skills. Our stack is Golang and Node.js though and we’ll require you to solve a case and show us your understanding of one of the mentioned technologies. \n\n\n* You are a passionate and skilled backend developer (knowing some frontend is a plus) that already has a couple of years of experience\n\n* Independency working with either Golang and/or Node.js\n\n* High quality code is even more important to you than the Force \n\n* You love to learn and you love to share the knowledge\n\n* Preferably you worked with MongoDB and/or SQL\n\n* Knowing ES6, TypeScript and/or React is a plus\n\n* Fluency in English\n\n* Good communications skills\n\n* Good self organisation skills and strong personal integrity\n\n\n\n\nHIRING PROCESS\n\nYou can go through 5 (currently all video) interviews. Here are the steps:\n\n* You send us your CV and a cover letter in English.\n\n* We invite you for an introductory phone/video call to get to know you better and share more about us.\n\n* You get the technical test and unlimited time to send us your solution.\n\n* Our lead developers evaluate it and we provide you with the feedback.\n\n* You have 3 more meetings - with one of our lead developers and the Team Manager, with the Hiring Manager and with your potential new team.\n\n\n\nUTOPIANS\n\nWe come from different backgrounds and we welcome everyone who finds theirself in previously written to apply. Welcome to Utopia - Where Music Lives! \n\nWe’re eager to meet you! :)

\nWe’re looking for a  full time creative engineer with product minded focus and scalability to join our rapidly growing tech team in Malmö. This is a fully hands-on position and will cover all aspects of back-end related development and bring value on the technical product roadmap level. We are looking for a candidate that must have at least 5-7 years of experience and understands the dynamics of a start-up in a fast growth trajectory.\n\n\n Our tech + how we work \n\n\n* Our core backend is built with Python, but is being quickly adapted as requirements dictate. Critical components of our architecture are split into dedicated microservices, where we'll be looking at higher performance languages for mission-critical functionality.\n\n* Extensive back-end development experience in writing Python together with database management, configuration and AWS services & workflows\n\n* API-building and configuration alongside integration of third party API’s for data distribution systems are of essence in our operations\n\n* ML is becoming part of our decision making process so you need to be able to plan and architect that together with the rest of the engineering team\n\n* We believe in using the best tools for the job, and value engineering expertise over language prowess\n\n* We value: documentation, test coverage, code review, CI/CD and great team spirit.\n\n* We predominantly communicate over Slack, making little use of email internally. We do daily standups each morning via Google Hangouts. BitBucket is our repo of choice and we track progress via sprints in Jira project boards\n\n* We encourage discussion and debate, but place tremendous value on pragmatism and optimising for output. We're solving new categories of problems, and understanding our very best functionality will come about as a result of deep technical insights driven by engineering\n\n\n\n\n You should apply if…\n\n\n* You're passionate about building beautifully crafted APIs and creating awesome secure scalable experiences. Handiscover’s services are geared towards users, communities and partners creating values in their everyday life. Build a product you would use yourself, and bring your unique insight and perspective to the table as an engineer in shaping our overarching product offering.\n\n* You like solving big problems. Our greatest challenges are yet to come, and we'll need super hard working and creative minds to solve foundational infrastructure challenges for the world's largest online travel communities facilitators.\n\n* You value autonomy, moving fast and getting lots done. We have no time or interest for bureaucracy and micromanagement - we're moving super fast and you'll be required to take responsibility for delivering products end-to-end.\n\n* You want to make a huge impact, and share in the success of a company you've helped build. Our tech team is 5 strong today, but we are just getting started.\n\n\n\n\n\nNO THIRD PARTY RECRUITMENT AGENCIES PLEASE

\nFor our development team, we are looking for a Python developer with at least a few years experience. You will help develop pilots, projects and services for our customers, hosted on Linux using Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform. The majority of these projects are related to artificial intelligence, machine learning and/or data science, while some are related to web crawling.\n\nYou can take on and finish tasks with a large degree of independence. As we are still a small and growing company (eight developers per January 2018), you need to have a broad technical competence and be flexible about your projects.\n\nEach project usually have two developers working as a mini-team, but we communicate about challenges with everyone. We need both people skilled in putting code into production and those who specialize in ML, but for us it is important that everyone can code. For this position the actual Python programming is the important part. You make us extra happy if you have data science experience, a strong AI/ML background and/or statistical knowledge, but this is not required.\n\nRecently we have worked on projects including speech to text, video OCR, text based recommendation systems, price prediction, a customer support mail-bot and generally a lot of fun and open ended challenges with a high success rate.\n\nWe offer a large degree of freedom. Pick your own equipment, OS, IDE, etc. You can choose to work from home. We offer a bonus and pension program. You will be working in a pleasant environment with other highly skilled Python programmers and machine learning experts.\n\nOur developers can currently choose to work from home up to three days a week. So far we have preferred to meet in person to discuss projects now and then, but we are interested in working with full time remote developers as well.
