**Bonfire.com** is transforming the way people buy and sell high quality custom apparel. As a leading online fundraising site, we’ve helped thousands of causes and organizations raise millions of dollars by selling their own custom shirts.\n\nWe are looking to hire a **Java Spring Developer**. Don’t like HTML or CSS? Great! You will be working on our REST API and Angular frontend. HTML/CSS will be handled for you. \n\nWe are looking for a **long-term** relationship and committed individuals to join our team.\n\nAbout you:\n\n• You can work on a feature from start to finish, communicate about it and ask the right questions.\n• You are comfortable with Java and can confidently write code and see it deployed to production servers.\n• You have an excellent knowledge of Spring (Boot). Alternatively, you are eager to read a book or two on it quickly and feign years of experience during the interview 🙂\n• SQL comes naturally to you and you understand how JPA/Hibernate works.\n• You can tinker with Javascript code and help improve our Angular stack.\n• You are not afraid to SSH into a server and change some configuration files.\n• Your English is proficient.\n\nThe role:\n\n• Senior Java developer is responsible for implementing new features, fixing bugs and improving and refactoring code.\n• Most of what we do is web related – many tasks will ask you to implement REST endpoints to achieve some business objectives and connect the dots on the web.\n• Many tasks are not strictly web related and may challenge you in other ways (e.g. data analytics, network communication, database optimization, etc.).\n• You will have a lot of independence and agency while working, but you will communicate with other colleagues daily and often work with them directly to solve coding issues\n\nThe work environment:\n\nThis is a **remote position**. You have an amazing opportunity to join our fast growing platform and make it grow even faster.\n\nWe offer you outstanding team environment, low stress atmosphere, and an opportunity to advance your career by building amazing things on a modern tech stack.\n\nPlease apply directly on the following link: [[https://careers.bonfire.com/senior-java-developer-2/](http://)]\n

We are looking for experienced Java generalists to work on our Electronic Patient Portal and Integrated Digital Care Record system. We are a fully remote team and we're hiring in GMT+-2 timezones.\nAbout us\n------------\nPKB integrates data flows across multiple organizations across the healthcare system, while putting the patient in control of her data.\nWe're building something that actively, directly, improves the lives of people in general -- not selling more stuff, helping others sell more stuff, or making comfortable people a bit more comfortable.\nWe are a fully remote team with a dozen developers, spread across half a dozen countries within a few hours of GMT (for shared working hours).\nTechnical environment\n------------------------------\nThe major components of our stack:\n- Postgres data store\n- Wildfly, Spring Boot and Dropwizard for hosting/running applications\n- Docker for deployment and packaging\n- Prometheus, Grafana, Pagerduty for monitoring\n- Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Teamcity for managing the development flow\n- Ansible and Vagrant for controlling development and shared environment\n- Java 8 and some Python here & there – we're open to others, preferably JVM-based languages\n- Selenium and Arquillian for end-to-end and integration testing\nWork environment\n----------------\nWe are all remote: there is no central office. We communicate primarily through chat (Slack) and issue tracking (JIRA), as needed over phone (Slack, join.me and similar, Skype, etc.) and we meet up once in a month in person for a day or two – usually in London.\nYou can use any OS/IDE/editor you like – whatever makes you productive. The only hard requirement is that you can run Docker containers and git somehow. We have devs running Windows, OS X and Linux.\nWhat we are looking for\n-----------------------\nYou should be\n- a good communicator. You are able to understand others and explain yourself clearly and concisely. You know how to chase the best ideas in a discussion, not just push your own.\n- proactive and motivated. You're comfortable asking for help when you're stuck; you make constructive suggestions when you see something that could be working better.\n- able to prioritize well. You can strike the right balance between hacking things together hastily and completely disappearing for two months while refactoring the persistence layer. You understand both the technical priorities and the business priorities underpinning them.\n- conscious of risk. You have seen successful and failed projects, and you have a good sense of what is going to work and what is going to fail.\n- able to deliver working, production-quality code.\nTasks\n-----\nWe have all kinds of interesting stuff to work on -- after a few weeks or months of general feature tasks, you will find the role that suits you most. Some of us ended up working on site reliability, others drifted towards the front end – it really depends on you. You will certainly write some Java code and some SQL, occasionally fixing bugs and collecting requirements.
