To our future Senior Embedded Engineer\n\nAt Density, we build one of the most advanced people sensing systems in the world. The product and infrastructure is nuanced and one-of-a-kind. Building this product for scale has been an exercise in patience, creativity, remarkable engineering, laser physics, global logistics, and grit. The team is thoughtful, driven, and world-class.\n\nWhy this is an important role\n\nLast week our deployed DPUs detected a million humans walking through doors. A number that increases every week.\n\nAs engineers, we think it's pretty cool to be capturing events at this volume. Especially when it's done anonymously, accurately, and in real-time. Although counting people is a DPU's top priority, it needs to do so much more.\n\nOur system must efficiently and reliably:\n- Receive and process improvements through command and control functionality\n- Seamlessly interact with our network of partner products (think building automation and security integrations)\n- Push diagnostic data so we can remotely monitor and troubleshoot.\n\nOur DPU has a growing set of responsibilities. We need an experienced hand to help us imagine, build, and maintain these mission critical systems and functionalities. Are you up for the job?\n\nThis position reports to Density’s Director of Software.\n\nRead our values here.\n\n\n\nRequirements:\n\n\n* Deep understanding of modern C++\n\n* Exceptional comfort with networking, specifically in enterprise environments (this is big for us)\n\n* Strong experience with the Linux system level APIs, placing an emphasis on designing AsyncIO/event loop based embedded user space daemons.\n\n* Experience integrating with custom hardware via standard Linux interfaces.\n\n* Strong understanding of TLS based communication (ideally using OpenSSL).\n\n* Experience interfacing with large scale cloud based backends.\n\n* Experience with an embedded Linux build system (Yocto, Buildroot, Linux from Scratch)\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBonus Points for:\n\n\n* Computer Vision\n\n* Machine learning and machine learning hardware\n\n* Experience with building automation. Specifically Bacnet protocol.\n\n* Python 3 AsyncIO\n\n* AWS lambda\n\n* Nomad/Terraform\n\n* ZMQ\n\n* Kafka\n\n* BLE\n\n* 802.11 \n\n* CDP or LLDP\n\n\n

**Job Description**\n\n\n\nAnalytics Fire builds custom software for the solar power industry. We’re looking for a senior embedded developer with deep experience developing, testing, and debugging embedded software in a Linux environment to help us expand our services to support manufacturers in additional new high-tech sectors.\n\nAnalytics Fire is a small, distributed team working on a range of interesting projects. For example, we recently helped build a custom IoT platform for utility grade solar power plants, sales software for residential solar systems, and a machine-learning powered autonomous cleaning robot. We’re looking for a fun, reliable, and highly collaborative, senior developer to join our team.\n\nThis is a remote position. We’re flexible about location and hours, so long as your working hours are within a European or US-overlapping time zone. We’re a really great match for a senior developer who wants to work hard on interesting projects, while simultaneously having flexibility around time and geography.\n\n\n\n**Skills & Requirements**\n\n\n\nIdeally, you should have 5+ years developing, testing, and debugging embedded software in a Linux environment. You should be comfortable autonomously driving your own high quality / high velocity contributions using a range of technologies.\n\nRequired skills:\n\n- Expert level experience developing, testing and debugging embedded software in a Linux environment\n- Development experience using Python, C, and C++\n- Basic hardware experience (cabling, basic troubleshooting)\n- Basic understanding of web technology\n- Strong verbal and written communication skills\n\nNice to have:\n\n- Expert-level network systems experience using connman, BTLE, and dbus\n- Expert-level experience with wireless protocols (eg zigbee, cellular modem, etc)\n- Intermediate or expert level security engineering experience with current knowledge of security best practices, common exploits, and threat landscape\n- Previous experience creating custom Linux-based systems using Yocto\n\nAnalytics Fire has a very polyglot technical culture. Our ideal candidate has expert-level skills in the above categories, but also have a secondary skill set in one of the following areas:\n\n- Full stack software engineering with React, Angular\n- Scientific computing with C++ and/or Python\n- Computer vision / machine learning (PhD-level)\n- DevOps automation\n\n\n\n**About Analytics Fire**\n\n\n\nAnalytics Fire was founded by a couple of engineering nerds -- one a PHd in machine learning and the other a former VP of Engineering for an analytics platform -- who both are also serial entrepreneurs backed by prominent angels and VCs including Y Combinator and 500 Startups.\n\nβ€œOur goal founding Analytics Fire, was to create the engineering department that we always dreamed of working for. For us this meant being able to spend our time working on the hardest and most interesting technical problems that we could find, being part of a small, tightly-knit team of world-class engineers, while simultaneously having flexibility around time and geography.”

\nAre you interested in wearable sensor fusion, power optimisation, test-driven design, and writing high quality code?  Do you want to work in a fast growing startup producing world leading sensor technology for hot wearable consumer and health markets? Inspired about health and fitness?\n\nPulseOn is looking for an experienced embedded developer (wizard level) to join our international software team of about 10 people, located in Helsinki and Tampere in Finland and in Neuchâtel in Switzerland. You don't need to be on first name bases with Brian or Ken or have been with Dennis, but that certainly doesn't hurt — our team members know just Rob at the moment.  However, if you  cannot figure out whom we are speaking about, you are most probably not qualified.\n\nDepending on your profile and preferences, you can focus either on contributing to the code base itself, improving code quality and functionality, or pay more attention to the process, improving our testing, coding and planning practices.  Being able to apply formal methods is a clear plus though not required.\n\nWhat do we offer?\n\n* Becoming a key member in a very fast paced team working on cutting edge wearable technology \n\n* Ability to put your analytical and programming skills into use with a demanding target \n\n* Opportunity to work with world class international customers \n\n* Competitive salary and compensation package\n\n\n\nQualified and interested?\n\nContact our Chief Software Architect, Pekka Nikander [email protected]
