\nThe Lightning Platform UI Framework team is looking for an architect to help shape the future of the web through our engagement with standards bodies and browser developers. Salesforce’s UI Framework is built on top of web standards and we are heavily involved in influencing, authoring, and editing new standards. Our objective is to reduce our dependence on proprietary code for functionality that browsers should provide as part of adhering to a standard. \n\nThe Standards Architect will work closely with browser vendors and standards bodies to champion the functionality we need as part of developing an enterprise application. \n\nThe primary role will involve participation in the following standards committees and working groups including TC39 and the W3C / WHATWG.\n\nYou will be expected to invest time in developing standards. This will include championing new standards and reforms, putting time into standards authoring, and developing reference implementations. You will lead the collaboration with companies and individuals than can champion new specifications, or can help to implement existing specifications in some browsers. You will be expected to travel and attend standards meetings around the globe. You will also help organize and host meetings and committees at the Salesforce offices.\n\nIf you want to work with great engineers in making the Lightning Platform the most exciting developer experience in the work for the largest CRM provider ever, with billions in revenue, millions of users, and hundreds of thousands of developers, this is the job for you!\n\nGeneral Requirements:\n\n\n* \n\n10+ years of UI Software development experience\n\n\n* \n\nStrong in Object Oriented and Functional Programming\n\n\n* \n\nExperience working with standards organizations\n\n\n* \n\nProficient reading, writing and explaining specifications focused on the web\n\n\n* \n\nExperience with developing web components.\n\n\n* \n\nSolid understanding of web technologies, including HTTP, HTML,CSS, XML, JSON, and/or AJAX\n\n\n* \n\nExperience using in browser development tools\n\n\n* \n\nHands-on experience with performance measurement, analysis, and optimization\n\n\n* \n\nExperience working with NodeJS.\n\n\n* \n\nSolid understanding of web application performance engineering concepts, tools, methodologies, metrics, and analysis\n\n\n* \n\nAbility to work cross-functionally to articulate, measure and solve issues\n\n\n* \n\nPassion for continuous improvement in building knowledge base technically and professionally\n\n\n* \n\nYou have a positive attitude and can handle many different tasks - and you feel comfortable communicating needs to the Product and Design teams\n\n\n* \n\nYou proactively bring solutions and the right tools for the job to the table\n\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Skills:\n\n\n* \n\nExperience championing features under W3C, WHATWG or TC39\n\n\n* \n\nExperience contributing to open source projects.\n\n\n* \n\nYou are proficient in writing and maintaining wpt and test262 automation\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* \n\nExperience developing in an Agile software development environment\n\n\n* \n\nSolid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)\n\n\n* \n\nStrong analytical skills and the ability to develop processes and methodologies\n\n\n* \n\nExperience with Continuous Development and Continuous Integration (CI/CD) process\n\n\n* \n\nGood understanding of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model and concepts\n\n\n* \n\nAbility to learn quickly in a dynamic environment\n\n\n* \n\nKnowledge of back-end systems and API’s, developer tools and compilers\n\n\n\n\n\nPosting Statement\n\nSalesforce.com and Salesforce.org are Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employers.
