Practichem's work style is not for everyone. \n\nWhat you will do\n\n\n* Build and lead a development team \n\n* Debug code\n\n* Manage software development tools; refactoring code; creating architectural designs; creating user interface designs; and developing algorithms.\n\n* Create and present designs and engage in technical reviews.\n\n* Research and propose solutions.\n\n* Identify and propose improvements to software development processes, tools, and environment.\n\n* Prepare and present technical information to departmental, cross-departmental, executive, or external groups.\n\n* Provide subject matter expertise, mentor others, and reach out for help when needed.\n\n* Juggle fast changing priorities, be process minded, and detail driven, and coach your team to do the same.\n\n\n\n\nPreferred experience and skills\n\n\n* Professional engineer with 10+ years of software experience\n\n* Scientific background a major plus\n\n* Technical leadership in scaling teams\n\n* Academic background in computer science\n\n* Methodologies to build software for enterprise customers \n\n* Web technologies such as Java, REST, Websockets, node, and python\n\n* Web frameworks such as React or angular\n\n* Testing infrastructures like Jenkins, Maven, and Selenium\n\n* Demonstrated ability to write efficient, reusable, and testable code\n\n* Agile Kanban\n\n* Start-up environment experience\n\n\n\n\nWhat we offer\n\n\n* Competitive compensation and benefits.
