Here at Salesforce, we call it #SalesforceOhana!\n\nJob Description:\n\nThe Enterprise Cloud Architect is a customer-facing enterprise domain expert applying broad technical skills, with deep industry knowledge and business acumen. In this role, you will support sales teams in developing compelling Salesforce value propositions that align to our government customers’ business strategies on digital transformation and cloud adoption.You are naturally curious, a self-learner and have a high aptitude for gathering information and asking the right questions about your customers.\n\nYou are a subject matter expert in one or more categories that may include: business strategy, application architecture, application integration, security, cloud computing, distributed platforms, mobile platforms, and business intelligence/analytics. With a strong blend of technical and sales skills you use a consultative approach to understand business and technical requirements.\n\n\n* \n\nAs an Enterprise Architect, you will determine which Salesforce and third party technologies to leverage in customer driven architectures, based upon product knowledge, industry experience, industry standard EA frameworks and Salesforce EA methodologies\n\n\n* \n\nClearly articulate business architecture (mission/vision, capability models, capability assessments) and technical architecture (current and future state enterprise architecture diagrams, road maps, solution best practices, reference architectures, design patterns).\n\n\n* \n\nLeverage your broad IT background including solution architecture, technical architecture, software/systems engineering, cloud computing, governance and SDLC, to lead key discussions and considerations around change programs from both a business and technical perspective.\n\n\n* \n\nTravel to customer engagements (around 30% of the month) in your region and outside your region\n\n\n* \n\nCollaborate with sales teams and contribute responses to RFPs and technical requirements documents\n\n\n* \n\nEngage with account executives and solution engineers to develop opportunities for customer-facing enterprise architecture engagements. Continuously promote and communicate the value of Enterprise Architecture both within the solution engineering community, as well as within the broader sales and customer success organizations\n\n\n* \n\nHelp marketing and sales teams develop industry specific, repeatable propositions and go to market strategies.\n\n\n* \n\nParticipate in all appropriate product, sales, and procedural training and certification to acquire and maintain the knowledge necessary to be effective in the position\n\n\n* \n\nDevelop and deliver solution best practices, reference architectures, educational sessions and industry summits to existing customers, partners and internal audiences.\n\n\n* \n\nPresent Salesforce technology infrastructure, including demonstrating deep familiarity with company's platform capabilities, hosting infrastructure, security and integration capabilities\n\n\n* \n\nConduct architecture and technical workshops that may include enablement sessions\n\n\n* \n\nManage customer technical due diligence and risk management processes\n\n\n* \n\nWork closely with other elements of the Salesforce organization, e.g. alliances, sales effectiveness, industry business unit, product marketing, etc. to develop and execute internal and external programs and initiatives\n\n\n* \n\nAttain quarterly and annual objectives assigned by management\n\n\n* \n\nMentor and guide more junior technical team members.\n\n\n\n\n\nThis role is aligned to the Global Public Sector Business Unit which includes Federal and State & Local governments and the Aerospace and Defense industry. These prospects and customers are often in digital optimization or digital transformation phases. Salesforce typically has alignment with key customer C-level executives as to partner on digital transformation engagements.\n\nYour Impact:\n\n\n* \n\nBecome a trusted advisor to CIO/CTO/EA level contacts and their teams as they look to move or expand their business to a cloud architecture\n\n\n* \n\nEarn the trust of prospects' and customers’ CISO/CSO/Chief Risk Officer and similar.\n\n\n* \n\nA true asset to Salesforce due to broad and deep knowledge of business and technical architecture across all relevant domains.\n\n\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\n* \n\nB.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent work experience\n\n\n* \n\n6+ years experience in either software, system integration or enterprise architecture disciplines\n\n\n* \n\nGood understanding of the architectural principles of cloud based platforms including SaaS, PaaS, multitenancy, multi-tiered infrastructure, etc.\n\n\n* \n\nGood understanding of the security processes, standards & issues involved in multi-tier cloud or hybrid applications\n\n\n* \n\nFamiliar with principles of network, application and information security\n\n\n* \n\nConceptual and hands-on understanding of enterprise application integration, including SOA, ESB, EAI, ETL environments as well as common EA topics such as process orchestration, BPM, CEP, Master Data Management, BI/BA, etc.\n\n\n* \n\nAble to grasp leading edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, BlockChain, Robotic Process Automation, etc.\n\n\n* \n\nFamiliar with Industry or vertical solutions a plus\n\n\n* \n\nArticulate and balanced in demeanor with crisp written and verbal communication skills\n\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n\n* \n\nPrevious practitioner and/or implementation experience of Salesforce solutions or related solutions\n\n\n* \n\nFamiliar with relevant (regional, vertical, etc.) data privacy and security compliance (US FedRAMP, US DoD ILx, Canada Protected B) requirements\n\n\n* \n\nFamiliar with solution selling\n\n\n* \n\nExperience in sales/pre-sales strongly desired\n\n\n* \n\nSalesforce related development experience (Force.com, Java or C#, JavaScript), mobile development, modern frameworks, REST, SOAP/WSDL, and API-driven integration\n\n\n* \n\nExperience with architectural frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, etc.\n\n\n* \n\nFamiliar with design thinking and similar principles\n\n\n\n\n\nPosting Statement\n\nSalesforce.com and Salesforce.org are Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employers.
