#### **Full Stack Developer**\n\nEmpower our digital development and inspire good food research\n\nThe Good Food Institute (GFI) is at the forefront of the movement to use food technology and markets to solve some of the worldโs biggest problems, from climate change and global hunger to antibiotic resistance and the exploitation of billions of animals annually.\n\n**How You Will Make a Difference** \n\nIn this role, you will be responsible for the development of GFIโs web properties.ย The **Full Stack Developer**ย will be responsible for:\n\n- Supporting development needs for a variety of projects to maintain, enhance, and expand GFIโs web properties.ย \n- Determining user needs by analyzing technical requirements.\n- Developing front end website architecture and back end website applications, server-side code, and databases.\n- Designing and developing APIs.\n- Participating in the full software development lifecycle with requirements, solution design, development, QA, and implementation.\n- Integrating data from back-end services and databases.\n- Collaborating with graphic designers and external web developers to ensure the coordination of features, functionality, and content of GFIโs web properties.\n- Troubleshooting potential problems with GFIโs web properties.ย \n- Maintaining an understanding of the latest web applications and programming practices.\n- Maintaining an understanding of security principles and how they apply to website-related applications.\n- Performing other duties as assigned.\n\n**Who We're Looking For** \n\nTheย **Full Stack Developer**ย must have:\n\n- An associateโs degree or higher; a specific degree in computer science, web development, or a related field is preferred.ย \n- At least 2-4 years of web development or web programming experience and relational database design experience using Oracle or MySQL.\n- Thorough knowledge of WordPress themes and plugins.ย \n- A strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions, and standards.\n- Expertise and hands-on experience with web applications and front-end programming languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.\n- Experience with back-end languages such as PHP, Python, Ruby, or Java; PHP is preferred.ย \n- Familiarity with APIs.\n- A strong understanding of web applications, security, session management, and best development practices.\n- Exceptional attention to detail and organization.\n- The ability to work well independently and under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.\n- Comfort working remotely and in a rapidly growing and evolving organization.\n- Strong support for GFIโs philosophy and mission; demonstrated interest in public health, environmentalism, animal protection, or hunger relief.\n\nThe ideal candidate would also have:\n\n- Familiarity with JQuery.\n- Experience with Salesforce and Pardot integrations.\n- Familiarity with Airtable and its APIs.\n\nWe want the best people and we donโt want biases holding us back.
