Someone that has the passion to build the infrastructure for TaxJar's core services to maintain and exceed our traffic and reliability trajectory.\n\nOn our team you will have the opportunity to build and maintain cloud architecture that supports tens of thousands of customers.\n\n*This is a full-time remote position available to folks located in the US.\n\n\nAs a DevOps professional for TaxJar you will\n\n\n* Help us maintain high standards for security, stability, and operational best practices\n\n* Maintain, test, and improve disaster recovery across our technology stacks\n\n* Build complex deployment pipelines for Ruby and Elixir applications\n\n* Maintain and improve our monitoring and alerting systems across AWS and Heroku applications\n\n* Assist in migrating services from Heroku to AWS\n\n* Be an expert with AWS cloud services; EC2, RDS, IAM, EKS, Developer Tools, etc.\n\n* Have experience with infrastructure as code using tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.\n\n* Support the project efforts of all TaxJar development teams\n\n\n\n\n\n* 3 - 6 years of experience in cloud based DevOps with a heavy focus on AWS services\n\n* Production experience with: CloudFormation, CodeDeploy, Ruby applications, AWS cost optimization, and Postgresql\n\n* Extensive knowledge of monitoring and operating applications in containers at scale\n\n* Experience with running disaster recovery scenarios and then documenting and implementing issues that were discovered\n\n* Ability to write clear and accurate documentation around how infrastructure is laid out and can be modified\n\n* Be accountable for the infrastructure you are provisioning and maintaining\n\n* Manage DevOps tasks from assignment through to production\n\n* Agile, humble, trustworthy, and a team player\n\n* Rapid learner who thrives in a fast-paced and demanding environment\n\n* Passion for building simple and intuitive solutions for complex problems in eCommerce\n\n* Excel at communicating with the team remotely (chat, video, email, etc)\n\n\n\n\nYou’ll be a great fit on our team if you\n\n\n* Only want to work remotely\n\n* Are a PRO at communicating and collaboration\n\n* Highly value working with people you like and respect\n\n* Are accountable\n\n* Are confident in your skills and a solid team player (we’re peers here, no egos please) but also comfortable working asynchronously\n\n* Are hungry to play an impactful role and not afraid to fail\n\n\n\n\nWe’re a happy team and we all really love what we do.
