\nWe are looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to join the Scalable Path team to work on a client project. This is a remote, part-time position (approximately 4 hours/day).\n\n\nCLIENT COMPANY DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe client is a company that is changing the way the real estate industry works and has many innovative products in both the online and physical world.\n\n\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nThe client recently acquired a real estate startup in the home mortgage space and needs to improve and integrate the acquired software into their existing systems.  The acquired software is currently running on Rails 4 and is hosted on Heroku. They would like to move the app into their own hosting environment, but need to upgrade to the latest version of Rails before they can do this.  Since they are many versions behind, the upgrade will be an incremental process through different versions.  \n\n\nAdditionally, there are some high priority bugs in the current application that need to be addressed.  We estimate that approximately 30% of your time would be spent making hotfixes to the existing application and the remaining time would be spent focusing on the Rails version upgrade/migration.\n\n\nRELATIONSHIPS - WHO YOU'LL BE WORKING WITH:\n\nYou will be reporting to the Head of Product and working with two other developers (one in the US and one in Colombia).  You may also occasionally communicate with the VP of Engineering who is in Israel. There is an existing daily meeting at 9:00am America/Los Angeles (-07:00) PDT.\n\n\nREQUIRED SKILLS:\n\n- Excellent written and spoken English\n\n- Ruby on Rails (experience migrating to latest version)\n\n- MongoDB (Mongoid)\n\n- jQuery\n\n- Bootstrap\n\n- SASS (CSS)\n\n\nDESIRED (NICE-TO-HAVE) SKILLS:\n\n- CoffeeScript\n\n- Vue.js\n\n\nSTART DATE:\n\nAs soon as possible.\n\n\nHOURLY RATE:\n\nThe pay rate for this role is from $40 to $80 USD per hour, depending on experience and capability. \n\n\nEXPECTED CONTRACT DURATION:\n\n3-4 months\n\n\nNOTES:\n\nClient is also open to someone spending more than 4 hours per day on the project once they are up to speed.\n\n\nIf you're interested, please DO NOT apply via StackOverflow - follow the link below and click the "Login to Apply" button:\n\n\nhttps://www.scalablepath.com/view-position/ef4cf1f3/senior-ruby-on-rails-developer?pt[]=9470

When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. That is a scam! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. Scams in remote work are rampant, be careful! When clicking on the button to apply above, you will leave Remote OK and go to the job application page for that company outside this site.
