The Elastic family unites employees across 30+ countries into one coherent team, while the broader community spans across over 100 countries.\n\n\nRight now, we are looking to add a talented Python Engineer to collaborate within a small, globally distributed team.\n\n\nResponsibilities\n\n\nYou will be joining a dedicated team for Language Clients within Elastic. Our primary responsibility is to make sure that folks who use our official language clients have a great experience when integrating with any part of the Elastic Stack.\n\n\nWhat you will be doing\n\n\n\n* Be the face of the elasticsearch official Python (and R) language clients\n\n* Maintain and moderate the language clients\n\n* Contribute to other language clients as appropriate \n\n* Drive community engagement and adoption\n\n* Keep pace with Elastic Stack releases\n\n* Build out our continuous integration tests, functional specifications and dashboard\n\n* Help maintain and develop best practices for language client development\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat you will bring\n\n\n\n* Strong Python experience and interest with what goes on in the Python developer ecosystem\n\n* Solid Data Science skills, working knowledge of popular libraries such as numpy, pandas and scikit-learn\n\n* Knowledge of R or willingness to learn\n\n* Strong experience in other development languages (such as Perl, PHP, Ruby, Go)\n\n* Ready to be part of a dedicated distributed team; self motivated and having strong collaboration and communication skills\n\n* Happy to get involved with our community; not afraid to reach out and be reached out to\n\n* Experience with the Elastic Stack is useful, but not mandatory \n\n\n
