\nWe produce software for editing/proofreading. As Intelligent Editing’s employee number five, you’ll have a wide set of responsibilities and the opportunity to contribute across as much of the business as interests you. You’ll take charge of our e-commerce, website, web applications, web integrations, and analytics. Our audience are (mostly) not technologists, so you’ll make the complicated seem easy.\n\nYou’ll work with a wide array of technologies (some of which you probably won’t be familiar with when joining). So a desire and ability to learn new tools is essential. You’ll be working directly with the founder & CEO, as well as our Chief Engineer, to develop the tools that will allow the company to grow in the long term.\n\nFrom the first day, you’ll be given a lot of responsibility, so you must be able to work and get things done independently. Although the core role is development, you shouldn’t be afraid to pitch in where needed (including admin, sales and support).\n\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\n\nYou will:\n\n\n* Work on e-commerce\n\n* Improve our website\n\n* Build integrations with our email provider and CRM\n\n* Track analytics\n\n* Put in place unit tests and quality control mechanisms to improve our codebase.\n\n* Perform server maintenance tasks in Microsoft Azure\n\n\n\n\nSKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS\n\n\nCandidates must have 7+ years of experience in commercial programming roles. In addition, candidates should have extensive knowledge of the following languages and technologies:\n\n\n* Languages: ASP.NET MVC, Microsoft C#, JavaScript\n\n* Development Environments: Visual Studio\n\n\n\n\nCandidates should have experience in:\n\n\n* E-commerce (we use TeaCommerce with Stripe and Paypal)\n\n* Working with source control\n\n* Unit testing\n\n\n\n\nCandidates will have an advantage if they have experience of, or ability to learn, the following:\n\n\n* Content management systems (we use Umbraco)\n\n* Email service providers (we use Campaign Monitor)\n\n* Customer relationship management (we use Close)\n\n* AngularJS\n\n* Identity Server\n\n* SQL Server\n\n* Azure\n\n\n\n\nOTHER DETAILS\n\n\nContract type: Permanent (subject to a six-month trial).\n\nSalary: £40k - £45k.\n\nRemote working: 100% Work from home.\n\nBEFORE YOU CONTACT US\n\nCandidates must have the right to work in the UK, and must be based in the UK.\n\nWe do not work with recruiters. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
