This is a great opportunity to help lead our Cloud Engineering efforts and make an immediate impact to our strategy and implementation.\n\nWhat you will be doing:\n\n\n* Manage, mentor and lead a distributed team of Engineers who develop software for our Elastic Cloud offerings\n\n* Run multiple software projects simultaneously\n\n* Work with Product Management to define requirements\n\n* Build project plans for large projects (effort estimation, scheduling, project status tracking and reporting, etc.)\n\n* Participate in interviewing and help drive hiring\n\n* Lead and conduct performance evaluations for your direct reports\n\n* Be an awesome person to work with\n\n\n\n\nWhat you will bring along:\n\n\n* BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience\n\n* 5+ years experience leading teams of software engineers\n\n* Experience running a distributed team is a plus\n\n* 5+ years as a hands-on software engineer (C++, Java, Scala, C#, or Python or similar programming languages) so you understand the core principles of the engineering work that is going on in your team\n\n* Your heart at the right place, good sense of humour and ability to form connections with the people you work with\n\n\n\n\nBonus Points:\n\n\n* Distributed systems design and development\n\n* Operating a SaaS service\n\n* 3rd party Cloud hosting services (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)\n\n* Experience supporting customer problems and communication\n\n* Speaking/presenting at tech conferences\n\n* Managing on-call schedules (PagerDuty, VictorOps, etc)\n\n* Open source projects and companies\n\n* Automated testing\n\n* Secure coding practices (static code analysis, security code reviews, etc.)\n\n\n\n\nAdditional Information:\n\n\n* Deeply competitive pay and benefits\n\n* Equity\n\n* Catered lunches, snacks, and beverages in most offices\n\n* An environment in which you can balance great work with a great life\n\n* Passionate people building great products\n\n* Employees with a wide variety of interests\n\n* Your age is only a number.
