The VP Eng's job is to make everyone in the engineering organization successful and you are responsible for fixing the issues that are getting in the way of success.This position will have a huge impact on the future of Knock.\n\nSkills & Requirements\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n\n* \n\nLead, mentor and inspire a distributed engineering team to perform at a high level and deliver world-class products\n\n\n* \n\nDesign and execute processes for workflow and standards\n\n\n* \n\nCollaborate with the product team to understand and translate requirements, ensuring specifications and architecture design meet broader technical strategic goals\n\n\n* \n\nManage project milestones, progress, and issues\n\n\n* \n\nProvide technical leadership and guidance to your team members\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* \n\nSet clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability, in collaboration with the engineering and management teams\n\n\n* \n\nRecruit, develop, and grow a talented technology team committed to developing innovative solutions aligned with the company’s business model, values, and vision\n\n\n* \n\nImplement an effective organizational structure that balances process, accountability and scalability with product velocity and innovation as Knock continues to scale\n\n\n\n\n\nWe’re looking for teammates who have:\n\n\n* \n\nBS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field\n\n\n* \n\n10+ years relevant technical experience\n\n\n* \n\n5+ years directly managing and building high performing engineering teams\n\n\n* Experience taking a company from early stages all the way through an IPO and beyond\n\n* \n\nTrack record of solving complex problems, designing creative strategies, and delivering significant impact as a manager and a leader\n\n\n* \n\nExperience managing successful engineering teams (remote based a plus) including hiring/termination and performance management\n\n\n* \n\nAbility to prioritize and manage across multiple, often time-sensitive initiatives\n\n\n* \n\nExceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills\n\n\n* \n\nCapable of technical deep-dives into code, networking, operating systems and server infrastructure\n\n\n* \n\nUnderstanding of most AWS products & architecture\n\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
