Be a rebel but be part of our rebel alliance.\n\nSkills and experience\n\nEssential\n\n\n* Layout and presentation skills in HTML, CSS and related technologies\n\n* Expertise in JavaScript with a minimum of 5 years’ experience – ES6; Babel JS\n\n* Experience of modern web frameworks and libraries, in particular React JS\n\n* Single Page Applications (SPA) – Create React App / Next JS / Gatsby; React Router / Reach Router; Redux & Redux-Saga\n\n* Unit Testing – Jest; React Testing Library / Enzyme; Snapshot Testing\n\n* Web Accessibility – WCAG; Axe\n\n* Web application user interface design skills and experience\n\n* A thorough understanding of web concepts: HTTP, REST, web services, etc\n\n* Experience working on Agile projects, particularly Kanban or Scrum\n\n* Tenacious technical problem solver\n\n* Good communicator\n\n* Demonstrable experience of working with version control, build tools, code-quality and testing tools.\n\n\n\n\nDesirable\n\n\n* Experience with Government Digital Service (GDS)\n\n* Experience with Design Systems – Storybook; Styled Components / Emotion\n\n* Experience of test automation – Cypress; Puppeteer\n\n* Typescript\n\n* ESLint\n\n* Standard JS / Prettier\n\n* JSON Schema\n\n* Sketch\n\n* Experience of developing for deployment to the public cloud (e.g. AWS, AWS Amplify, Azure, etc.)\n\n* Experience using the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.)\n\n* Working knowledge of best practices: version control, unit testing, CI and documentation\n\n* Comfortable using the command line to support application development and deployment - GIT; Bash scripts\n\n* Experience with developing and deploying with container technologies, in particular Docker.\n\n\n\n\n\nResponsibilities\n\n\n* Develop solutions that meet the needs of users by considering the user at every step of the delivery process; from understanding the need to designing the solution and delivery\n\n* Work as an integral member of a small, remote team\n\n* Agree and deliver on sprint commitments\n\n* Design and implements secure software components\n\n* Participate in the iterative user needs analysis and design phases\n\n* Ensure that code is well-tested in development and to take part in systems integration testing where required, to meet the agreed level of quality (Jest)\n\n* Participate in peer review processes\n\n* Supporting the team through the full release cycle\n\n* Participation in development support for the resolution of bugs, provision of hot fixes and support of the production system as required by application operations\n\n* To follow and enhance the organisation’s software engineering practices and processes.\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
