They collect data from edge servers, and are used to power application monitoring, infrastructure monitoring, and network monitoring. We currently have five official Beats: Filebeat for gathering logs, Packetbeat for network traffic, Metricbeat for metrics, Winlogbeat for Windows event logs, Heartbeat for uptime monitoring, and Auditbeat for audit data. In addition, the open-source community has created over 40 Beats, collecting data from all sorts of sources.\n\nAll current Beats are written in Golang.\n\nAs part of the Beats team, you will be responsible for maintaining the official Beats, for creating new ones, as well as for supporting the community around Beats. The team is diverse and distributed across the world, and collaborates on daily basis over Github, Zoom, and Slack.\n\n\n* Write open source Golang code for maintaining different Beats.\n\n* Dive into new technologies and figure out how to best monitor them.\n\n* Define and create new Beats.\n\n* Work with our support team to help customers.\n\n* Answer community questions.\n\n* Collaborate with other development teams, quality engineering team and documentation team to execute on product deliverables.\n\n\n\n\nSkills you will bring along\n\n\n* BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science or related engineering discipline and 5+ years of industry experience.\n\n* Experience building systems in Go, C, C++, Java or other systems language\n\n* Strong Go language knowledge\n\n* Experience with either windows, Linux, k8s, or docker\n\n* Open source experience is a plus\n\n* Large-scale systems development is a plus\n\n* Operational experience with monitoring systems would be very welcome.\n\n* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a great teammate with strong analytical, problem solving, debugging,\n\n* and troubleshooting skills.\n\n* Ability to work in a distributed team throughout the world.\n\n* Knowledge and experience in Elasticsearch, Beats, Logstash, Distributed Systems is a plus.\n\n\n\n\nAdditional Information:\n\n\n* Competitive pay and benefits\n\n* Stock options\n\n* Catered lunches, snacks, and beverages in most offices\n\n* An environment in which you can balance great work with a great life\n\n* Passionate people building great products\n\n* Employees with a wide variety of interests\n\n* Your age is only a number.
