\n At Elastic, we have a simple goal: to solve the world's data problems with products that delight and inspire. As the company behind the popular open source projects — Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, and Beats — we help people around the world do great things with their data. From stock quotes to Twitter streams, Apache logs to WordPress blogs, our products are extending what's possible with data, delivering on the promise that good things come from connecting the dots. The Elastic family unites employees across 30+ countries into one coherent team, while the broader community spans across over 100 countries.\n\nElastic is seeking a talented Software build engineer to join our Ingest team. The Ingest team is diverse and distributed across the world, and collaborates on daily basis over Github, Zoom, and Slack.\n\nIngest at Elastic\n\nThe Ingest team is responsible for building the Beats platform and the solutions on top of it. Beats consists of open source shippers that collect all kinds of operational data, store it in Elasticsearch, and visualize it with Kibana. They collect data from edge servers, and are used to power application monitoring, infrastructure monitoring, network monitoring or security use cases. We currently have five official Beats: Filebeat for gathering logs, Packetbeat for network traffic, Metricbeat for metrics, Winlogbeat for Windows event logs, Heartbeat for uptime monitoring, and Auditbeat for audit data. In addition, the open-source community has created over 40 Beats, collecting data from all sorts of sources.\n\nEngineering philosophy\n\nWe believe that engineering complex, pluggable software for the web that is built to last the test of time is both tricky and exciting. Doing so requires a team of diverse individuals, with sharp minds and the ability to empathize with our users, working together with mutual respect and a common mission.\n\nWe care deeply about giving you full ownership of what you're working on. Our company fundamentally believes great minds achieve greatness when they are set free and are surrounded and challenged by their peers, which is clearly visible throughout our organization. At Elastic, hierarchy does not determine how decisions get made. We feel that anyone needs to be in the position to comment on anything, regardless of their role within the company.\n\nYour responsibilities:\n\n\n* Maintaining and improving the build system.\n\n* Producing packages and installers for all the Beats.\n\n* Build and maintain Docker images and Kubernetes templates.\n\n* Testing of packages/installers and Docker images.\n\n* Help maintain, build, and scale the testing environments.\n\n\n\n\nSkills you will bring along:\n\n\n* 3+ years of industry experience.\n\n* Experience with building software packages (e.g. rpm, deb, msi, pkg).\n\n* Familiarity with Go, Make, Python, Docker. As a distributed company, we believe that diversity drives our vibe. Whether you're looking to launch a new career or grow an existing one, Elastic is the type of company where you can balance great work with great life.\n\n\n* Competitive pay based on the work you do here and not your previous salary\n\n* Equity\n\n* Global minimum of 16 weeks of paid in full parental leave (moms & dads)\n\n* Generous vacation time and one week of volunteer time off\n\n* Your age is only a number.
