\nYour Role:\n\nAs a Principal UI Engineer at Tenable, you play a key role in the delivery of highly reliable, scalable, and maintainable JavaScript applications. You will drive projects end-to- end, collaborating on product definitions with Product Managers, architecting and implementing technical solutions with talented teams, and ensuring continued success even after deployment. You will lead and participate in design reviews, architecture discussions and other technical leader activities. You’re comfortable working independently as well as supporting other team members. You’re pragmatic, tenacious, and comfortable with ambiguity. You’ll be able to balance technical leadership and acumen with strong business judgment to make the right decisions about technology choices. You’ll strive for simplicity, while bringing technical insights into how to refine and improve the system, ultimately ensuring performance, stability, and an exceptional end user experience.\n\nYour Opportunity:\n\n\n* Lead/drive the overall architecture for the UI Framework while partnering with other Principal Engineers and Tech Leads\n\n* Lead/drive the roll-out of the UI engineering standards (coding, testing, automation, app structure)\n\n* Collaborate with feature and component teams during both design and development phases to ensure adherence to UI architectural standards and best practices \n\n* Design and develop proof of concept prototypes for advanced features and designs\n\n* Provide technical oversight and perform code reviews for multiple development efforts\n\n* Evaluate, test and provide technology and design recommendations to management \n\n* Provide detailed documentation on system design and implementation \n\n* Promote cross team synergy and alignment to optimize code-sharing and increase time to market\n\n* Contribute to framework implementation as necessary\n\n\n\n\nWhat you'll need:\n\n\n* 10+ years of experience delivering enterprise class JavaScript web applications\n\n* 3+ years of experience in the design, development, and use of component based architectures, preferably with React and Redux\n\n* Expertise in JavaScript/ES6 and at least one frontend framework (e.g. React, Angular, Vue, Ember)\n\n* Expertise in HTML5, CSS, and CSS Preprocessors (less/sass)\n\n* Experience visualizing data using D3 and/or other charting libraries\n\n* Experience with WebGL, Three.js, or other innovative technologies is a plus\n\n* Experience working on teams with heavy emphasis on DevOps, Automation, and Quality (CI/CD)\n\n* Experience working in an Agile development environment\n\n* Experience leading projects and mentoring engineers\n\n* Comfortable working with a remote team operating in multiple time zones\n\n* Strong written and verbal communication skills\n\n\n\n\n\nWe’re committed to promoting Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) at Tenable - through all equal employment opportunity laws and regulations at the international, federal, state and local levels. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
