All our projects use a collaborative development model. Reviewing code is as important to us as writing it, and the design and direction of our product is everyone’sresponsibility.\n\nWe build things for people who build things; we want teammates who want to build the monitoring tools they’ve always wanted.\n\nWhat you'll do in the DevOps Engineer job:\n\n\n* \n\nWork on the MaaS platform (Monitoring as a Service) dev team to help deploy their code seamlessly and painlessly\n\n\n* \n\nProvide in-depth and always-improving code reviews to your teammates\n\n\n* \n\nFix things before they break\n\n\n* \n\nBrutally prioritize your work\n\n\n* \n\nTroubleshoot and support production, addressing technical debt to improve sustainability\n\n\n* \n\nUse an open-source collaborative development model, branching for each major feature, writing clear commit messages and PR descriptions\n\n\n* \n\nResolve operational issues by collaborating with upstream support groups and other engineering teams\n\n\n\n\n\nTools We Use\n\n\n* Cassandra, Zookeeper, Kafka, Scribe, Thrift, Docker, Redis, Elasticsearch, Hadoop, Statsd, Graphite, Chef, Nagios\n\n\n\n\nQualifications\n\nDevOps Engineer Desired Qualities\n\n\n* \n\nWorking knowledge of Puppet, Chef, or Jenkins\n\n\n* \n\nSkilled with at least one of C, Java, or Node.js\n\n\n* \n\nExperience working with REST APIs\n\n\n* \n\nExperience operating distributed systems\n\n\n* \n\nExperience with high-availability, high-performance, open source web technologies\n\n\n* \n\nExperience with cloud platforms, open source databases and caching layers\n\n\n* \n\nWeb programming and scripting ability\n\n\n* \n\nWorking knowledge of software development methodologies including code profiling, regression testing, and continuous integration\n\n\n* \n\nA working knowledge of Linux internals\n\n\n* \n\nExperience operating production systems\n\n\n* \n\nActive participation in GitHub, tech blogging, etc.\n\n\n\n
