The position is with IKA. You will be a part of the creation of a first-ever VR/AR World of Science and Technology experience; a collaborative Virtual and Augmented Reality gaming platform between industry leading scientists and universities for one of the worldโs biggest industries. We need your expertise in creating fun and engaging multiplayer systems to thrill a whole new audience of scientists. We believe that VR and AR are the future of scientific research and education and would like you to be a part of our future.\n \nThe IKA laboratory, as well as the analytical and processing divisions, currently have around 900 employees, and continue to offer a wide range of innovative equipment for numerous applications in research and development, as they have over 100 years. Worldwide market leaders trust in our proven technology.\n \nResponsibilities:\n\nImplement solutions to synchronize gameplay\nAnalyze and optimize bandwidth usage and latency effects\nDevelop highly scalable, secure and available connectivity services\nCreate clear documentation to transfer knowledge and simplify maintenance\nCooperate closely with our gameplay programmers to ensure multiplayer compatibility\nRecognize opportunities to improve our application or general workflows, and seek to make these changes\n\nRequired Qualifications and Skills:\n\n3+ years of C/C++ experience\n2+ years of experience in client-server programming, ideally related to video games\nExperience in IP network protocols (TCP and UDP)\nExperience in database development (MySQL, Oracle, ... )\nExperience with replication, arbitration, bandwidth, load balancing and multiplayer concepts\nExperience with 3D game engines\nSelf-sufficiency\nBS (or higher) in Computer Science or a similar discipline (i.e. Physics, Math, EE, etc.)\nStrong verbal and written communication skills in English\n \nDesirable Qualifications and Skills:\n\nUnreal Engine experience\nExperience in implementing VoIP\nShipped console/PC title experience\nVR and/or AR experience as a developer or user\nFamiliar with: JSON, XML, JavaScript, and/or Python\n \nBenefits and Pay/Additional information:\nComprehensive benefits package for employee and family\nEquity offered for the VR/AR division\nCompetitive compensation\nRelocation and visa/immigration support will be provided by the company for the employee and their family\nThe company is located close to France, Switzerland, the Black Forest, and the Alps for those who like to travel or do outdoor activities on weekends \nAll office communications are in English\n\ncontact: [email protected] \n\nPlease mention the words **SOUP COME SHARE** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMy4xMzMuMTA5LjIxMQ==).
