\nWe’re looking for a senior back end engineer with a background in the Ruby web dev ecosystem. You will work on headless components of our music API, including:\n\n Crawling Discogs, Wikipedia, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Musicbrainz, etc\n Downloading, categorizing, reformatting huge batches of artist images\n Creating public web APIs\n Searching our data store using Elastic Search and/or Postgres\n Calling various social media and music APIs\n Architectural improvements for speed and stability at scale\n\nNeedless to say this involves a lot of data and necessarily hairy systems, so our technology problems are interesting to work on.\n\nWe currently have a heterogenous bag of tools including Scala, Node, and Hadoop, as well as Rails. We're trying to move all that into Ruby, and preferably Rails. \n\nIt's a full time salaried job. We prefer a local candidate who can come in to our office, though we'd consider somebody remote, especially if their time zone was close to PST. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
