\nDataStax delivers Apache Cassandra™ in a database platform purpose built for the performance and availability demands of IOT, web, and mobile applications, giving enterprises a secure always-on database that remains operationally simple when scaled in a single datacenter or across multiple datacenters and clouds. \n\nWe are looking for a Software Engineer in Test (Contractor), focusing on the DevCenter application. DevCenter is an easy-to-use visual query tool that allows developers to create and run CQL queries and commands against Apache Cassandra and DataStax Enterprise (DSE). Candidates must be located in the San Francisco Bay area.\n\n\n\nEssential Job Functions:\n\n\n* \n\nConceptualize, develop, and execute tests for DevCenter (Code Coverage, Manual and Automated UI Testing) running on a variety of platforms\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* \n\nDive deep into the code base to analyze features and bug-fixes while using debugging and profiling tools. You will work hand-in-hand with development teams to define functionality and resolve issues\n\n\n* \n\nHave the opportunity to learn new languages, tools, and processes in a dynamic, fast-paced, small team environment\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* \n\nHelp debug customer issues\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJob Requirements:\n\n\n* \n\n2+ years in a production software development or software quality assurance role\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* \n\nMotivated self-starter who has experience working in a distributed team that exchanges ideas via IRC and HipChat\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* \n\nUnderstand the complexities of testing in a distributed, big data environment\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* \n\nStrong development/QA background using Java\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* \n\nPassion for making great software in a small company setting\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* \n\nHistory of learning new technologies on the fly\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* \n\nPossess an assertive communication style\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe stuff that would be nice to have (but not a deal breaker)\n\n\n* \n\nBS degree in Computer Science.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* \n\n4+ years development/QA experience.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* \n\nExperience with any of the following (Apache Cassandra/DSE, Eclipse Platform, TestLink, or other formal testing tools)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* \n\nFamiliarity with team coordination tools (JIRA/Confluence) and agile development processes (Scrum/Kanban)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* \n\nVirtual Machine Setup and Testing Experience\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* \n\nExperience with SQL and relational databases\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* Familiarity with the git source control system\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
