\nSummary\n\nOver the past three years, different departments at the Wikimedia Foundation have developed learning resources to support Wikimedia communities all over the world advance their work, which includes: engaging new editors and education institutions on Wikipedia (through Wikimedia programs), supporting volunteer developers for MediaWiki (the software on which Wikipedia operates), advocating for law reforms or law enforcements, creating new institutional partnerships, giving direct support to guarantee the safety of Wikipedia users all over the world. Through a new hub, called “Wikimedia Resource Center”, we hope to better connect Wikimedia community members to these resources and one on one support. The Wikimedia Resource Center is a project that has 8 different stakeholders, with specific needs, across the organization.\n\nWe’re looking for someone who is comfortable in both a design and a technical role (mostly front-end). The technical design intern will work with the Learning and Evaluation team to flesh out designs, and use their technical expertise to make them into reality, using different technologies.\n\nWe’d like you to do these things:   \n\nAs a Technical Intern with the Learning and Evaluation team you will be involved in supporting the development of the Wikimedia Resource Center.\n\n\n* Work closely with the Communications and Outreach Coordinator on the redesign of the Evaluation Portal on Meta Wikimedia.\n\n* Migrate and archive L&E portal pages from existing namespaces to new namespace\n\n* Create a set of templates that can be implemented by different portals informing the Wikimedia Resource Center.\n\n* Mapping the technical support needs and lending support as available to other teams working on portal redesign as part of the Wikimedia Resource Center project\n\n* Engage in dynamic working environments to connect with Wikimedia colleagues throughout the world.\n\n* Other duties as needed.\n\n\n\n\nDeliverables:\n\n\n* Regular coordination with the Communications & Outreach Project Manager and Community Engagement team members.\n\n* Bi-weekly debriefs with team regarding progress and status of portals linked to the Wikimedia Resource Center.\n\n* Template design and technical integration for support in navigating online resources. The intern should be able to either (a) offer a design solution, which they will develop later on Meta Wikimedia; or (b) be able to work with wireframes and develop templates designed by others on Meta Wikimedia.\n\n* Guides for new template implementation for portals informing the Wikimedia Resource Center. (Example of template documentation on Meta Wikimedia.)\n\n* Redesigned and migrated portal pages with up-to-date information and category links.\n\n\n
