\nThis is a long term (3 months to 1 year) contract for 40 hours/week work. The candidates must be able to invoice for their work.\n\nThe chosen freelancer will be requested to work in close collaboration with the project team, aka in european working hours. \n\nAs a PHP Developer, you will be working on the conception and rollout of a brand new version of Greenpeace flagship websites based on the Wordpress CMS. You will also be developing, review, testing and deployment of websites, themes and plugins, as well as supporting end users and resolve bugs.\n\nYour main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:\n\n\n* Writing well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices;\n\n* Integrating data from various back-end services and databases;\n\n* Developing enhancements and resolve bugs as part of the product release lifecycle;\n\n* Designing, developing and testing ETL / integration scripts to allow data migration and integration with other CMS and CRM systems;\n\n* Performing code review of 3rd party developed themes and plugins, make recommendation about possible performance and security improvements;\n\n* Identifying performance bottlenecks, propose and implement solutions;\n\n* Participating in the design of new feature and change requests and discuss technical feasibility;\n\n* Writing technical specifications and documentation to facilitate development and maintenance of the platform;\n\n* Cooperating with web designers to match visual design intent;\n\n* Creating, deploying and maintaining automation tools to streamline development, testing, deployment and monitoring processes;\n\n* Writing functional and unit tests in order to facilitate user acceptance testing and prevent regressions;\n\n* Releasing code to the staging and production environments;\n\n* Assisting end user technical questions and troubleshooting new issues;\n\n* Staying abreast of latest technologies/industry trends and proposing new ideas to enhance usability and performance.\n\n* Once or twice per year, play board games with your team members when you meet face to face\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
