\nThis is a long term (3 months to 1 year) contract for 40 hours/week work. The candidates must be able to invoice for their work.\n\nThe chosen freelancer will be requested to work in close collaboration with the project team, aka in european working hours. \n\nAs a Front-End Developer, you will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining efficient, reusable and reliable front-end code. You will be working on the conception and rollout of a brand new version of Greenpeace’ flagship website based on the Wordpress CMS. You will also be responsible for the creation of web-based style guides and interactive prototypes (and their integration as themes), as well as supporting the end users and resolve front-end related issues.\n\nYour main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:\n\n\n*  Designing, building and maintaining efficient, reusable and reliable front-end code;\n\n* Making decisions related to front-end code architecture and technical approach;\n\n* Building cross-browser solutions optimized for mobile devices;\n\n* Translating requirements and mock-ups into fully functioning features using efficient and maintainable code;\n\n* Performing code review of 3rd party developed front-end code and make recommendation about possible improvements;\n\n* Participating in the design discussion of new features and change requests;\n\n* Identifying UI performance bottlenecks, propose and implement solutions;\n\n* Continuously looking for ways to improve greenpeace.org and implement A/B tests;\n\n* Writing unit tests in order to prevent visual and performance regressions;\n\n* Writing documentation to facilitate collaboration and maintenance of the platform;\n\n* Assisting end user technical questions and troubleshoot issues;\n\n* Stay abreast of latest trends in front-end development and propose new ideas to enhance usability and performance.\n\n\n
